I think most of the DB-2's you may see entered would be ACRL Cosworth cars (specifically legal for CSR). The single-cam S2 motor is specifically not allowed in CSR.
A well driven ACRL SS2 would probably be pretty competitive since the CSR fields are typically very shallow. ACRL times for a highly modified DB-5 (driven by a 70 year old) are right at the CSR track record at Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, etc.
I feel that a DB-2 (unless significantly re-engineered) would be be constrained by the relatively small tires.
But if you've got a DB-2, and find S2 too constraining, then build a killer motor, slap on some wings (or tunnels) and go have fun in CSR.
Re: db-2 in csr
i was thinking of a db-2 with a OLDS Quad 4. have you seen any of these out there?
thanks

S2000s as CSR
I have a former S2000 (Lola 8690) converted to Toyota power. To be competative in CSR you may have to consider;
being close to the weight limit of 1300 lbs,
creating close to 225-230 hp and
being very creative to create front and rear downforce.
I have stiffened the tub of my 8690 and am using larger tubes in the rear subsection. Every winter I do something with the car. This year I modified the bodywork (i.e. opened the rear deck to create wheelwells) to accept 8" fronts and 10" rears.
I would like to see more 'two-seaters' racing in CSR.

olds csr
I have been in CSR since 1982 and I am and have been running a DB-2/olds with 5 body work for the last 5 years in CSR. At the 2000 runoffs only the Madzas were faster down the straight the my car. The motor makes 210-215 hp and the weight "as raced" is 1425 lbs. Very heavy! Both the car and me need a diet. The car works well at the NE tracks but not at MidOhio. Please bring your car out and run with us.
