You know, who really cares if he was a geek in high school or if none of that stuff happened... he's an entertainer.
If I've noticed anything in artists, it's that being a geek is what leads to their later fame and recognition.
I guess I never understood why people felt the need to put down others.
To me, it seems Manson's point is... to show all those who ignored him, and/or picked on him that he actually COULD get somewhere. And, mind you, just because a kid is a geek in school, doesn't mean that they won't be different once they reach adulthood. You dont know how his home life was, or what his family is like, so how can you assume that certain events haven't changed him into what he is now?
Also, I see that you all refer to Manson as trying to be "scary"... it's funny how that can be a matter of opinion, because I never once thought he was trying to be scary, nor did he ever appear scary to me. I always saw it as art. Maybe he wears makeup, because he doesn't like how his face looks. Maybe he wears makeup simply to entertain...oh that's right... I forgot, everyone who entertains tells the truth *laughs*
Do you really think half the artists out there were always the way they are now? Or that their biographies are completely accurate? Or that they look like that or talk that way in everyday life? You need to wake up and realize, Manson does just what most entertainers do... PUTS ON AN ACT, THATS WHAT ENTERTAINMENT IS.
Oh *huff* I still can't understand why people take entertainment so seriously. Entertainment was originally designed as an escape mechanism, to escape from reality, and be in a fantasy world for just a moment in time. In the 1940's movies were created to distract people from all of the stress going on, and to allow them to escape for a bit...to allow them to relax, and let go of their stresses.
If this is true, that Manson is lying nonstop out of his ass, then I'd say he sure makes a great entertainer by being able to pull it off so well. He's recognized all over the world for his act, and simply for his act. Few know the real Brian, and don't CARE to, because to most of society, he's simply entertainment.
