What is your all time favorite dog novel?
What's your favorite dog/wolf related book? Just curious, and I ran out of dog books to read *lol* May favorite is "Nop's Trails" by Donald McCaig. You'll laugh cry, and be hooked!
Re: What is your all time favorite dog novel?
I haven't read many books based on canine or lupine characters, unfortunately. I would like to but can't find any in the local library, heh, that's what you get for living 7 miles out of town and having its library burnt down in a fire almost ten years ago.
I'd have to agree with White on this account though. I haven't ~read~ The Call Of The Wild, but I've heard it being read. I have it on audio cassatte. The book's hanging around at home somewhere, lost, but I think the cassettes are word-for-word so it should count. I've seen The Incredible Journey, I have the original on tapre, none of the over-anthro Homeward Bound. The Incredible Journey is about 8 times bettoi than Homeward Bound and is certainly a top class film, so the book must be excellent too, books are usually bettoi than the films based on them.

well...
I don't read many dog books [I'm a horse person] but my favorite out of the ones I've read is probably The Return of Santa Paws.

Ooh, I love that book! I like Call of the Wild, White Fang, and--there's such a long list--Santa paws series is good, and a hillarious one, "No More Dead Dogs." You gotta read it! It's not about dogs, more about a play about a dog, an 8th grader who's never told a lie, and is tired of book ending with dead dogs (old yeller, where the red fern grows, etc.) There's also a new book out by Avi. It's called "The Good Dog." It's about the dogs in steamboat springs (finally, a dog book that takes place near where I live!) where a wolf try to get dogs to come live in the wilderness. A bit silly, but i liked it.

There was one dog novel I loved so much, but I forgot what it was called. I know it was sad and I cried and cried and read it again and cried some more.

Ooh, yeah, that's a really good book. We read it in 7th grade, several students (including me) were crying when we read it, lol. (Maybe more, but they might not have wanted to admit it.) I definately recommend it.
Re: well...
I know, I know! I've looked for the elusive wad of literature in the library but couldn't find it, they didn't have any in stock. We don't have the biggest of libraries here in Costessey. The nearest is a 2-and-a-bit mile bike ride away too.

Hi, Catch! It's nice to see a new face around... you've already made a number of posts, and that's good to see.
(For the record, one of your posts was deleted.... yelling at panstat for a reason I couldn't figure out. It is true that Balto III is in the making, so we're just curious about it and speculating. I hope I don't offend. If you want to rephrase your complaint, I'll leave it up.
