"Um, Dane." He answered as he sat on the edge of the couch. "Aw, you were even cuter when you were little." Dane said as her glanced at each baby picture.

John sat down a little close to Dane and sighed as he looked at all of the pictures.
"Wasn't he, though?" Viv asked cheerfully as she sat in a chair.

John sniggered, looking at Dane in adoration.
Viv just smiled at them. "I guess I should tell you more about your father then, John..." She then got up and walked over to a messy shelf, digging through some photo albums.

Viv soon came upon a particularily dusty photoalbum, and she hugged it close before she brought it over to her son and sat it down in his lap. John slowly opened it and gasped at the first picture.
His father was really handsome, he was standing and looking thoughtful in the picture. His hair was light brow and dropped over his right golden eye a bit. He was very tall, and fairly muscular.
"You look a lot like him," Viv said with a slightly sad sigh.
"What happened to him?" John asked with a shaky voice.
"Killed by slayers," Viv replied sadly.

"I was devestated when they killed him," Viv sighed. "I was pregnant at the time..."
"Why did you give me up?" John asked suddenly, still looking at the picture of his father.
Viv was startled by the question. "The slayers wanted to kill you, and I was afraid. You meant absolutely everything to me, and I didn't want you hurt. Giving you up was the hardest thing I ever had to do."

John looked up, wondering the same thing.
"I started to move around. I was being chased, because everyone seemed to be looking for John and they didn't know I gave him up. After I felt the slayers had stopped looking, I started to look for John. Two years ago, I finally found the orphanage he was supposed to be at. But... There had been a vampire attack at the school, and that boy said that my son was... gone..." She sniffled and looked at John sadly.

"I hate the feeling when you lose someone... it's worse than immortality." Dane said with a sigh. "I don't even know if my family misses me. They probably don't even try to look for me, I don't really care anymore, it's hard for me to even call them my family."

John frowned at Dane and tilted his head a bit, not knowing what to say.
"What happens after you become a vampire?" Viv asked randomly.
John looked at his mom. "It's common for you to join the clan of the vampire that bit you. A lot of vampire clans are strict and well-organized, but other clans like our's are just made up of vampires who love eachother like family and just kinda hang out."
"That sounds nice," the woman replied dreamily.
