Re: New CSR
Ok, found the page, it says
"The new car is currently going through the approval process for competition in the Sports Car Club of America's C-Sports Racer (CSR) category, where it is expected to excel owing to its low-slung design, long wheelbase and excellent power-to-weight ratio."
This statement doesn't mean it is a CSR according to SCCA. I could get a Ford country squire wagon accepted to run with SCCA too, so as far as I can see, it isn't a CSR yet.

"excellent power-to-weight ratio."? As apposed to what, a garbage truck? That has a long wheelbase too, and for sure drum brakes. Ohh yeah, sign me up, I'm sold!

New CSR
Well, all I know is that the thing I saw on the webpage said it was already approved for SCCA competition. Whether it's a CSR or not, they've apparently put it someplace. Maybe I'll call that number from work tomorrow and just ask the guy what class it was approved for. Maybe even ask if he knew the rational for it. Might be helpful to know how they got to the SCCA when it's own members can't...

Stay tuned

Re: New CSR
I'm sure that it has been "approved" for SCCA competition, just like the GTLites has been approved. I'd be interested to know what class as well. Maybe it will be left up to the individual regions where it runs.

New CSR
OK. Here's the scoop. I talked to Jason at 600 Racing. He's the sales guy for the GP Thunder Roadster. He says the car is approved for SCCA competition in the CSR class, for both regional and national races. I asked if modifications were permitted and he said yes, meaning that the SCCA would oversee the cars, not 600 Racing.

I'm going to post this at the DSR forum too
