Live Kai's hair was just way to off base for me. Come one with those pretty little sausage curls! Somebody should have shot the hairdresser on that one! Okay so supposedly live Kai (Prince) hair's is 'alive' and therefore with much more bounce to the locks but when he comes out with those kinky pretty curls bouncing on his shoulder I just had to gag! I could see nice swirl or swoop maybe..but NOT SAUSAGE CURLS! NOT ON KAI! TOO FRIGGING MUCH!

I think that's when his hair looked most alive, he did look a bit girly with it.......but he was still sexy. Hell, even in that little blue dress he looked damn sexy!
When his hair was somewhat down in wake the dead it looked to much like a wig, and not a very natural one at that. They did a much better job with his hair as Live Kai. I just wish we could have seen him with ALL of his hair down, hanging loose and free down his back.
Kai Hair
I had always wanted to see Kai with his hair down, long and luscious. Relaxed looking even, although I was promptly reminded that * The Dead do not relax - not even the hair* Alas we only ever saw it down and unkempt.
I just wanted to see him remove the clips and shake the bun out shampoo commercial style. And just look at him with long past the shoulder, shiney combed and slightly wavy hair ( ahhhh Samson let me brush your hair ).
*sigh*
and that lone lock - to coil it playfully around my finger.

I agree about S3 live kai's hair not being my favorite style on him (not to be confused with s4 live kai's hair). But the S3 curls do kind of go with the character.
The prince-kai coiffure reminds me of "premier empire" hairstyles-- but for women! Something someone would have worn to a ball in Jane Austen's day, exept that it would have had some feathers in it, but the ringlets seem right.

his wig..
there was a scene..in Tunnels I think..correct me if I'm wrong..where he tumbles off the tunnel and lands on the sand dunes to roll down..he was broken..and this was supposedly trying to realign our delicious dead man..well anyways..he's rolling down the sand dune and as I watched the episode, mesmerized as usual, I had to laugh when I saw him holding onto the damn wig with one hand as he rolled down...what? They couldn't super-glue the damn thing? LOL Anways that really caught my funny bone and gave me a laugh..awwww the things our MM had to go through huh? How many more of these 'moments' he must have had? Wouldn't it be delicious if he wrote a book with behind the scenes action?

Anyway, I am going to have to look at that ep from S3 where he rolls down the hill and see if I can see what yr talking about. I was thinking more about all that sand during that scene. What if they had to shoot it over and over?? I wonder if the sand remained in the suit for the rest of the series, I had an impression from somewhere that they only had one assassin outfit.

LMAO!! I never noticed that scene where he held on to the Bun, I'll have to go back and re-watch that EP on my dvd...I can just hear him now.."Watch it, my HAIR, my HAIR!"
Given the elaborate 'Do's that the Brunnen G's must have
been fond of, there must have been some kind of special 'hair regimen' that the males (and females) were expert at.
Also, all thru the entire 4000 years, the Bun changed color, shape and overall went thru a few modifications.
It would stand to reason then, that Kai had a nice little system for keeping his lengthy locks under complete control, (except for Wake the Dead, or should we call it Wake the Dread..?)
Apparently, after all others had retired for the night, or left the ship or whatever, Kai MUST have had his combs, brushes, shampoos, hair gels, scultping pastes, spritzing sprays, scrunching pumps, pins, bands, barrettes and whatever to keep that Bun in tip-top shape. For the most part, it was pretty nice all thru the series.
SO......I'd like to have seen the little secret Hair rituals Kai went thru to keep his lovely locks clean and the lengths he went to hiding his 'products' for fear of discovery..

Personally I think he had a special stash of protoblood shampoo and conditioner to keep is long, inky locks looking luscious. PROTOBLOOD HAIR PRODUCTS, GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOUR DEAD HAIR LOOKING VIBRANT AND ALIVE!

I've never laughed so hard as I did reading the responses to the proper care and feeding of the 'the bun'...I snorted, literally snorted with sexylexxy's responses! Spritzes, sprays and gels...gadddssss what a mind you have!
zzzzzzt! Ouch! I touched the screen there for a moment and burnt myself it is so hot! I think we have an alternate source of energy here! Hot pantie energy generated by lots of Kai drooling! On a good day I think I could generate enough to meet all my household needs. Just think, maybe one day, MM droolers could be in big demand for their energy generating capacity. We must keep our skills up for the sake of civilization!

If I had to imagine it, I would imagine it was soft and textured and would feel really good as he rubbed it gently across your breasts........DID I JUST TYPE THAT OUT LOUD?

I shall sit here now for a bit and contemplate the divine assassin's loosened hair brushing softly against my nude body..his brace, cold and deadly in delightful contrast to his soft hair..tingles go up and down my spine with the primal feelings running rampant throughout my body....ahh my divine one how I so wish to offer you succor within my warm arms...before the deadly cold weapon of your choice slays me...

MM must have put in some pretty long days between makeup and that hair...and all for consistant bad hair days! I'm not sure I like the long black hair as well as I do his natural salt & pepper. I think it suits him better out of costume.

Hi Fellow Kai Fans,
I'm actually trying to make a hairdo similiar to our wonderful dead man's; I bought 2 different wigs & am already working on 1 of them. It's called a Flip Wig & now that all the cookie baking & shopping is done, I can now go back to it; as I'm working on it, I'll be taking pictures, then write an article to put on my web site (www.geocities.com/karenlv...fts.html), so if any of you would like to try, you can. I'm still sewing it, then I'll stuff it, then sew the sides together, then continue with till I'm done.
I'm trying to make 1 similiar to Kai's to see if I can; I hope it turns out as good as the 1 on the show. I'll keep you informed of my progress before next yr's Dragon*Con

I will, mmlover, I will;
it will be interesting once it's finished, but it's coming along nicely; before too long, I'll be stuffing it (after I take another picture of it), then be sewing the sides, before going onto the next step. I'll definitely keep you all informed of my progress & be taking pictures after each step.
