remembering interveiw I Just watched the first and second planet of the apes movies. And Beneath is still my favorite. As a young boy the 24 hour ape marathons in the movies were a part of my growing up.And it came into my head, a interveiw with charlton heston a long time ago "That at the end of beneath the planet of the apes in the cathederal there was alot of emotion on that set" |

Re:
Yes, Roddy McDowal was one of the great ones. I miss him. He was a criticaly acclaimed actor even when he was a boy in the 1940's. I've read that Linda got along well with him, as she did with Heston, on the set of "POTA." Heston sort of mentored her; was protective of her while Roddy (who was closer to her age and was thus easier for Linda to identify with) was a good friend to her.

Re: Hi there, I feel your pain, I think we all cried when Nova dies. Nova didn't leave the world so peacefully but she looked so peaceful when she died. And the thing I liked about McDowall was that he was involved in most of the sequels and didn't consider himself better than that. I would have enjoyed seeing him and James Franciscus do an 'ape' movie together. And BTW, not to wonder off topic or anything but I read somewhere in a biography, that Roddy McDowall was one of James Deans friends. As Jimmy also was a friend of Sammy Davis Jr. Later, -Gene |

James Dean Recently I had dinner with Lois smith, she was in East of eden . She has played in many parts in the past years. she was the old woman in the greenhouse in Minority Report. We talked and she told me James Dean was a real proffesional actor. As far as movies go, Burt Landcaster is in my family. But I 'm very serious in the planet of the apes. And it really warms my heart with the cast in all the ape movies.and i'm going to make a purchase in a photo of Linda. And I have a question" who played the evil director in conquest of the planet of the Apes" My stepfather was buddys with him in college. He was the guy who looked alittle like robert wagner. |

Re: Hi, Wow, you must really get around. Well James Dean is my favorite actor, and I will one of these days be an actor myself. Enjoy your stay on this message board. And BTW, when you asked your question, you meant the president who controlled the ape institute place, right? He was Don Murray. CYA -Gene |

conquest of the planet of the apes Yes, Don Murry thats the guy. From what I understand it was odd that they picked him for that part.Because in real life that was exactly his personality.I live in N.Y. and I speak the truth. And My Whole life I have gone to great lengths to have linda harrison as a bed partner. Babyfaced amusing babyfaced lookalikes my life has been expressional. From the rock clubs of the eightys to led Zeppelin comebacks. but seriously this is my first computer, and so start the life of engineering in the trade. Middleaged in college, and still after thirty years my choice is still rodney Mcdowell as best actor. and Linda harrison as fox.by they way do you know her height? |

Re: You trying to be a comedian? Just kidding! Well you seem to have lead/leading a very interesting life. I think also if you take a closer look to Linda Harrison, you can see that she is more than someone you would want as a bed partiner, but somebody you can share your feelings with. And I think that Linda's hieght is about 5'7" or 5'8", I think it's 5'8" Later, -Gene |

To add to this message. Just by luck I have meeted some entertainers in the movie industry. Don't misinterper what I wrote about Ms. Harrison, I really meant woman of that nature. Sandra bullock, Audrey Hepbern,Ali Mcgraw,Julia Roberts,Racheal welch. Is the type of woman I like but I think linda Harrison really tops them.Me personally i have dirty blonde hair, and look like rick derringer.and have seen and meeted so many rock stars you would not believe.in this area i get alot of opportunitys.Went to see the new POTA in the movies.waited to the end to see Lindas name on the credits.wasn't sure a time she was in it.have to get it on video and catch her performance.missed it in the movies. And as far as i wrote about Lois smith the dinner was just by chance.and Burt Lancasters family, married into mine many years ago.It is hard for me to go to the video store and rent a movie i have'nt seen already.I'm feeling a little under the weather.AND ROCK ON ! |

Karl maldon i think karl maldon has passed away. But in his memory.I was a fan.Watched the acadamy awards as ernest borginine was on it.I,m glad he is around I thought he was'nt.My grandmothers sister married Burt lancasters brother.Kirk douglas was great in sparticus.I will try and see the movie his son.Michael douglas was very liked by my grandmother. But as Far as it goes with me I think Eddie Van halen best expresses my time, and involvement in that time of the entertainment Industry.i have been playing the guitar along time and took part in the scene in the early 80's. With the rock clubs on long island .If you remember the scene in beneath the planet of the apes,When they looked at the city in ruin. It was exactly how I witnessed 9/11 on my way to work.I once traveled alone to california, miss it and hope to go back in better circumstances. |

Re: Carl Malden and Kirk Dougless Interesting family tree you have there trimonkey. BTW, I think Carl Malden is still very much alive. I here he was also great staring with Kim Hunter ("Zira from POTA) in "Streatcar Named Desire."-just to try and get this a little on topic. Oh and Stefan, as for Kirk Dougless and his son Michael Dougless, they've just released a film in which they star together. I here their scenes together are quite commical. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the film but it was released very recently, like about a month ago. I'm surprised you havn't heard about it. The fact that you havent' (and the fact I can't even remember the name of it) doesn't seem to speak well of it being a sucess. -cozad |

Re: cozad, you're missing Carl Maldons best movie he made: "On the Waterfront," an awsome movie. He was reunited both with Elia Kazan and Marlon Brando, and Brando is such a terrific actor! -Gene |

high performence cars my brother owned a brand new 1969 road runner. and i always will remember he had a shrunkenhead with long black hair hanging from his rearveiw mirror and listening to crosstowntraffic by hendrix.long island has changed so much,I can't stand it.By the way working in a development using sandstone in a predominently oriental area on very expensive contemporary houses it started to look like ape city. And the old women gave me dirty looks.do you think this means a significance. |

RE: Sorry, Stefan, I knew American films were shown in Germany but I didn't realize there was that much of a delay. Thanks for the education. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to do penence by writing Michael Douglas's name (spelled correctly) twenty-five times. Trimonkey, it may interest you to know that when Marco Polo first visited China (among the first Occidental's in recorded history to do so)the Chinese themselves recorded the event and in doing so refered to Polo and his crew as "Those hairy ape like barbarians from the West" or words to that effect. Often the apes we imagine we see in the outer world are merely reflections of those darker aspects of our inward soul which remain unrecignized and yet projected from within upon those whom we find to be exotic or unfamiler. Well, if you'll excuse me, I've got to write 'Michael Douglas is not Micheal Dougless' twenty-five times. Take care, -cozad |
