Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
'What can't you believe?' Honestly he wasn't really sure, there was so much he was having troubles believing right now. But of all the faces in your life, you’d think it'd be impossible to forget you're own face, what right did these people have to do this to him?

'Dawn, Lisa and Angela will be glad to see you again.' He could tell by the way she was watching him that these names meant something to Riley Finn, and this Riley couldn't put any faces to the names. He recognised Dawn's name, Catherine had suggested he talk with her, his eyes felt so heavy suddenly. His discomfort grew steadily, he just wanted to get somewhere safe, where he could sleep.. where it was warm, it was just the slightest bit cooler then he was comfortable with.

"Teamwork. Courage. Strength. Discipline.." Although the words slowly crept into the back of his mind, Riley couldn't remember where they came from. He didn't remember the first two years of the classes he had taken part in with the Initiative. He didn't remember they hours manipulation and brain washing that Spike had teased Riley over having taken part in. He suddenly wanted to go back to the base, he had to, he couldn't abandon them that was wrong, his team needed him.. what team? He looked at the glass and then back at Catherine, he didn't want to leave her.. what was he insane, go back there and be without her?

"Catherine.. something doesn't feel..." he trailed off, did he really want to worry her? She already had so much on her mind.. He quickly looked away, the foot closer to her raised and pressed against the dashboard while his other leg raided and was pulled close against his chest. One hand holding onto the seat and the other wrapping around his drawn up knee.

"..I-I can't believe that.. I forgot what I looked like." He finished up, looking back at her with a faint smile, he wasn't going to complain, honestly, what right did he have to complain about a small stomach cramp after what she's been through? He looked back out the window for a moment before resting his head back against the headrest of the seat.. was he ever going to be able to rest from all this running?

Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..
every single time she looks at me.. she's trying to speak to me.. and I can't hear her.

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
'Catherine.. something doesn't feel...' She looked over at him, her eyes asking him what was wrong, her fingers rubbing over the steering wheel. She'd forgotten at the moment what she'd been told about his med's ... that he'd go through withdrawl again, it didn't feel like all this was really happening.

'..I-I can't believe that.. I forgot what I looked like.' She gave him a smile smile as a way of reply, she liked it when he smiled and over the past few weeks they hadn't had much to smile about really ... apart from each other.

'Don't worry I'm sure when you get back into familiar surroundings you'll begin to remember again.' She was about to follow up that perhaps all he needed was emotional stimulus but thought better of it after the way he'd reacted last time she'd brought up that suggestion. She wondered what it would be like to not remember Riley, maybe she was better of at least she could remember the pair of them, what they had could never really die if just one of them could remember what had happened and be glad about it.

ooc: Sorry I've been given quite a bit of work and I just failed a test so I gotta go and I can't write as much as I want to :(

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
he was annoyed that spike waited till they had stopped till he let go, he scoffed at the vampires words "it's not givin up, its inevitability and theres no way of stopping it, in your case you have a chance of it going away.. i dont" he remembered sitting in a room as a teenager being told all this himself, if one of them died, the other would follow swiftly.

"see one person wouldnt be strong enough for the kind of power they were after.. so they decided to have two linked.. only problem wih that is that if it were reduced to one the remainder would quickly go insane and then slowly die.." he paused shifting himself into a more comfortable position, one where he could see his weapons lying on the floor between riley's legs "..two hours.. thats how long they predicted till total mental breakdown.. two hours they said.. two hours to get killed quickly and save the pain"

he stopped talking and clasped his head in his hands in a vain attempt to stop the voices inside when an idea popped into his head "ok i see your point spike, its ok i feel better now" he suddenly changed his whole attitude, but the smile plastered across his face looked so genuine that it had to be fake "so why dont you just let me get out and i will see you back at the school in a while, you may as well give me back my things, save you having to carry them all that way"

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
(ooc- :( aww.. poor you, good luck with the work, hope everything get's better!)

'Don't worry I'm sure when you get back into familiar surroundings you'll begin to remember again.' He hoped so.. he really did, he didn't want to think that he'll never remember anything before the moment he had woken up in that room blindfolded. Riley was only partially listening to Spike and Thompson in the back, they where running from death every step of the way and these two where on about suicide. He glanced over towards Catherine for a moment, it was amazing that she could drive and have this annoying chatter in the background, it was starting to really get on Riley's nerves.

"An' how do you know for sure what they say is true? Hmm? They told you, great big powerful white coated men? You know the same kind told Riley his implant could never be removed, said it'd kill him, well... it's removed, an' he ain't dying o'that any more." No, he wasn't dying of that, now he had pleasent stomach cramp that felt as if it was starting to burn him from the inside. When Nick had suggested Spike return the things that now were where Riley's feet should be, if one wasn't on the dash board and the other pulled up onto his seat, Riley responded rather annoyed and tryng to hide the discomfort in his voice.

"Either of you even think of leaning over me, I swear, I'll beat the both of you black and blue, tie you to the back of the jeep, and then we'll continue on our way to the school with you dragging behind us all the way, are we clear on that?" Spike stared over at Riley who was rather curled up on his seat, but only gave a rather uncomfortable half smirk which faded rather soon. Spike didn't like threats.. because he always got them and most of the time they where carried through when it came to him. Part of him knew that Riley couldn't really fight Spike in his weakened condition, but still a few punches could be painful and Spike'd rather avoid any more bursts of pain if he could. Folding his arms, Riley merely rested his head again and closed his eyes, no one else was complaining that it was getting rather cool and he wasn't going to be the first to complain about it.

he raised an eyebrow, Riley would really do that , he never seemed the type but trying to get spike to do it would be like trying to get blood out of a stone.. impossible.

"Hell that'd kill anyone" he said taking a look at spike quickly to see his reaction then realising the vampire would stop him he shoved him out of the way and leaned over quickly towards the weapons on the floor, hoping Riley would make good on his threat

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
The instant Thompson's form moved to reach past Riley, the young man's icy cold hand grabbed Nick's outstretched arm, Riley was not at all pleased the Agent wanted so eagerly for Riley to keep his threat.

"I assure sir.. I can do it so you'll live every inch of the way back." In truth.. as serious as Riley sounded, he would never hurt someone like that for such small reasons, even if he hated Nick.. But no one could read his mind and he's had years of training to learn how to control his emotions, though it was hard when the drugs where throwing him so off balance.

"Alright now Children, don't make me tell on you lot for fightin'." The vampire's equally cold hand grabbed Nick's shoulder and pulled him back agaisnt the seat, his eyes glaring at the agent.

"Do'at again, an' I'll knock you out mate, Cat can't drive if she'as you slumpin' over'er shoulder like a bloody twelve year old." Spike was starting to notice the many handy times where not having a chip was rather helpful, but at the same time it still showed how dangerous he could be.. the sooner he gets away from everyone the safer they'll all be..

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
his face displayed a deep frown, these people were causing him a lot of pain but they didnt know just how much. he looked down at his boots, the noise in his head still growing steadily, he knew he wouldnt have long before his own thoughts were displaced and he became violent.

as he stared down he remembered the holy water in his heel, sure it would be useless in a suicide attempt, but he did have two shoes and the other one may have something poisonus in it. he shifted his foot so it was flat on the ground, the vampire didnt appear to be looking so he twisted then lifted it so the heel dropped off as planned.

he looked around again, smiling at the vampire in the seat next to him in an attempt to look inconspicuous he used his powers to quickly float the small bottle into his awaiting hands, cleverly kept out of sight. his eyes flashed a look at the label.. acid, not the best or most confortable way of killing oneself but it was preferable to going mad and having his brain slowly destroy itself.

he attempted to open the botle with one hand, the neck smashed off and fell on the floor and blood started to drip from his cut thumb. realising he had probably drawn attention to himself he quickly raised the bottle to drink its contents

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
If there was one thing Spike wasn't fond of, it was a suicidal guy smiling innocently at him, the vampire narrowed his eyes for a moment before looking away, staring at Thompson's reflection in the window.. which wasn't at all obscured by Spike. The instant he caught sight of the bottle, Spike's hand snapped out, grasping hold of his hand and pulling it away from Nick's lips.

"You bloody don't get it do you!? I've been poked, stabbed, jabbed, cut, shot, burnt, raped, punched, kicked and a whole lotta other bloody things, I want to rest, not watch you bloody kill yaself!" The instant after saying that, Spike's fist stuck across Nick's cheek, careful enough to make sure it wouldn't break his neck, but strong enough to knock him out cold.

"Even I didn't cause'is much bloody trouble fo'those 'round me when I wanted t'bloody die, you are SO bloody inconsiderate, you know that?" Spike was fully aware Nick most likely couldn't hear him unless the guy was reading his mind or something, but Spike wasn't in the mood to just not yell at him. Spike ignored any complaints from the front and strapped Nick's body with the seat belt to lock him in place.

"Well he ain't exactly causin' a fuss now is he?" Spike defended himself as he sat back and stared at the agent, then at the broken bottle of acid in his hand.

"For someone who's dying he sure is puttin' up a bloody good fight." Spike looked around for somewhere to put the bottle but couldn't really think of any place, he reached forward and unlocked Cat's door.

"' 'Xcuse me Pet.. betta get rid o'this." As soon as he tossed the bottle out of the car he made sure to lock the door again and hoped she wasn't too mad with him over his actions. Spike then focused solely on Nick as they drove, trying to ignore Riley in the front squirming around uncomfortably and keep his attentions on the suicidal agent in case the guy had any more surprises.

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
She wanted to clamp her hands over her ears so she couldn't hear them arguing, why couldn't they all just get along even if it was only untill they got back to Xaviers. She was getting tired now, she hadn't slept well over the past few nights, a floor was hardly the most comfortable place and last night's exploits hadn't helped.

She kept glancing irratably into the rear view mirror to see what Thompson was upto, she couldn't see Spike but she kept an eye on Nick.

'Either of you even think of leaning over me, I swear, I'll beat the both of you black and blue, tie you to the back of the jeep, and then we'll continue on our way to the school with you dragging behind us all the way, are we clear on that?' She looked over sharply at Riley ... did he mean that? She remembered the look on his face as he tried to shoot her last time he'd had his memory whiped. She didn't like the idea that she was in a confined space, locked into a confined space with an insane vampire, a suicidal agent and a guy who'd perviously broken the dashboard by punching it for no apparant reason and had now threatened to beat up Nick.

She tired to ignore the struggles coming from the back of the jeep, why couldn't they get on? A dull ache was staring up behind her eyes, she pressed her figners against the bridge of her nose for a moment. She was glad when Spike knocked Thompson out, she felt sorry for the agent but suicide was just the easy way out, it was much harder to live, she knew, she'd been there and lived.

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
Dropping his feet back down on the floor of the jeep, Riley leaned forward and let his hands press against the dashboard, his head lowering between his arms as he breathed. He was so cold, how come now one else felt the cold? Surely someone would have mentioned it by now? He let in a shaking breath as he leaned back against the seat, folding his arms across his chest and hiding his slightly shaking hands. His feet returned up to the dashboard, not to help pin him in place, just because his stomach was hurting and he couldn't sit still.

Just at the moment Riley was going to speak to Catherine he had noticed her fingers pinching the ridge of her nose, she didn't need to know any more worries. Slowly the vest he wore was starting to feel heavier and heavier, but now it was just unbearable, his trembling hands grabbed the neck area for a moment.

"Stop the jeep, stop the jeep, I can't breathe, please, let me out, I can't breathe." He wanted to open the door, only when he tried it was still locked, which was good, Riley just tried to leave the moving vehicle. But the failed attempt didn't stop him, his shaky hand still trying to open the door while his other one frantically tried to undo the vest but wasn't managing to reach any of the straps on his side.

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
'Stop the jeep, stop the jeep, I can't breathe, please, let me out, I can't breathe.' His outburst suprised her, she looked over to see him trying to open the door, she a suddenly glad she'd locked it before.

'Whats wrong Riley?' She exclaimed turning the car off the road and pulling up on the grass verge next to it. Her hand unlocking her door, the jeep was so wide she couldn't reach across properly to him.

What was happening to him? He looked like he was in a large amount of pain, had he been hurt before and not said anything about it? was it his chip malfunctioning again. She felt fear flicker though her, what would she do if she lost him again? What if he died? She wrenched her door open quickly and hopped out onto the deserted road, hearing him do the same. She half limped half ran around to the other side of the jeep, concern for him in her dark eyes, she saw him half slumped against the hummer, his hands pulling frantically against the top of the vest.

'Let me help Riley.' She said moving close to him, still a little wary after his punching the dashbaord eariler. She'd forgotten all about the initiative drugs and the withdrawl he'd go through.

Her small hands reached over, quickly pulling the straps loose and helping him off with the vest, she could see his muscles shivering, there were goosebumps on his arms. She realised she was standing very close to him, so close she had to tip her chin upwards to look into his face.

'Whats wrong Riley?' She streatched over one hand and laid it upon his shoulder 'Your shivering ....' an almost motherly expression passed over her face quickly. 'Come on get back in the hummer and I'll turn the heating on, don't worry you'll feel better soon.'

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
'Whats wrong Riley?' He wasn't sure, he was cold and sore and he just wanted to get out so he could remove this iron weight. He threw the door open as quickly as he could, half glade he wasn't alone when he partially heard Catherine moving out as well. He basically fell out of the jeep, the struggle to his feet quick and ending up with him leaning back against the jeep as he tried to remove the vest. It was hard because his fingers where stuff from the icy feel and he was shaking, making it harder. He just wanted it off, he forgot all about the straps and just wanted to tug it off his chest, his eyes watched Catherine as she moved towards him.

'Let me help Riley.' When she had helped him remove it he already felt much better, but it still hurt, the confinement of the vest was gone but the pain of the cramps and the cold was still very real.

'Whats wrong Riley?' He still wasn't sure, he wanted her to tell him what was going on, he had to stare downwards to see her properly, he didn't realize how much taller he was to her.. she seemed much taller in the jeep since he spent most of the trip curled up on his seat. When her hand rested on his shivering shoulder, he felt a lot of warmth and comfort from her touch.

'Your shivering ....' But why was he shivering, it was a nice day, he shouldn't be this cold, something was wrong with him. By the expression on her face he felt assured that it was going to be alright.. she'd look after him..

'Come on get back in the hummer and I'll turn the heating on, don't worry you'll feel better soon.' He wished he were as confident as her.. something always seemed wrong with him. His icy cold forehead rested down on Catherine's warmer one as he closed his eyes, he just wanted to rest.. he wanted to close his eyes and sleep.

"You're so special.." There was probably one bonus Catherine had with Riley, she's had a glimpse of how he acts when he's fond of someone, what he says and how he speaks. She'd defiantly know how Riley would feel towards her or any other before he had any clue, since it was his nature to easily over look these matters. He could never explain what her helping him means to Riley, he would never find the proper words. He picked up the vest with one of his shaky hands, placing it into the jeep before resting his head down against the seat. It suddenly seemed like a very long way up, he wasn't sure he could make the step, he glanced up after a moment, staring at Spike's hand waiting patiently for Riley to take.

It was rather awkward for Spike to help him up, but the vampire didn't complain, once Riley was in his seat, he decided to improvise with his seat belt. Taking the two ends that had been sliced in half, he then weakly tied them around his waist. His vest lay on the floor over Nick's ammo and weapons, without the armored plate over him Riley could curl into a tighter ball. His body leaned against the door, pulling his knees as close to him as he could, it was amazing how much smaller he could look when he curled up. It wasn't to long until he had drifted off into an uncomfortable rest, but it didn't last long, he was stressing too much and the pains didn't help him sleep.

"Don't leave." Someone was leaving him, they where going away, but when he opened his eyes he was just watching the scenery move past the jeep. His head shifted onto his knees, his arms already having wrapped around them when he slept. He was still exhausted, mostly because the drugs had a sort of drowsing effect as well as his lack of good sleep. His eyes flickered closed before opening once again, making sure Catherine was still sitting there, still in control.. still with him. He was so freezing.. but the warmth of the heater made it slightly better, but not by much.. he shifted his position yet again, something he seemed to be doing rather often.

His back rested mostly against the door, his arms folded tightly over his chest with his knees still pulled close as his stomach caused him to give a muffled groan of pain. His eyes hovered over Catherine for another moment before finally closing again, opening whenever he heard movement, as if his mind thought she was about to dive out of the car any moment while he wasn't looking. His head rolled gently against the headrest of his seat, it would have been more comfortable if he weren’t trembling.

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
Her eyes blinked as he rested his head on her forehead, suprised again at how cold he felt, she blushed slightly as he spoke though he was in no condition to notice ... maybe she could persuade him he loved her, perhaps, just perhaps he could fall in love with her again ....

She watched Spike anxiously as he helped Riley into the jeep, at least the pair of them wern't arguing anymore, she stood for a second looking up at him before she turned away with a sigh and travelled around the bonnet of the car again, her eyes nervously scanning over the road, looking to see if there was any sign of movement.

Cat pulled herself up into the driving seat of the hummer, buckling her seat belt in again and turning the car's radiator on. She pulled off her eyes flicking over to the form of Riley who was curled up against the opposite door, his eyes closed. He looked really sweet she decided smiling slightly to herself, he didn't look at all like the man who had threatened Nick a few minutes ago.

'Don't leave.' Her eyes moved back to him when he spoke a couple of mintues later, she tipped her head onto one side slightly wondering if he was talking about her .... before back at the base when the initiative opperators had dragged him away.

'I'm not going anywhere Riley.' She said quietly, watching his eyes flicker open and then close again, like he couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to sleep or to stay awake. She could see he was still trembling.

Turn it inside out so I can see you
The part of you that's driftin over me
And when I wake you're, you're never there
And when I sleep you're, you're everywhere
You're everywhere

Just tell me how I got this far
Just tell me why you're here and who you are
Cause everytime I look
You're never there
And everytime I sleep
You're always there

Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes
It's you I see
You're everything I know
That makes me believe
I'm not alone.....
I'm not alone

I recognized the way you make me feel
I start to think that you might not be real
I sense it now the water's getting deep
I try to wash the pain away from me
Away from me

Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes
It's you I see
You're everything I know
That makes me believe
I'm not alone....
I'm not alone

Oohhhh......

When I touch your hand
It's then I understand
The beauty lives within
It's now that we begin
You always light my way
Whenever comes a day
No matter where I go
I always feel you soar

Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes
It's you I see
You're everything I know
That makes me believe
I'm not alone...

Cause you're everywhere to me
And when I catch my breath
It's you I breathe
You're everything I know
That makes me believe
I'm not alone..........

And you're everyone I see,
So tell me, do you see me???

Cat might not be very achademic but she had a good singing voice, though she was singing more to herself than to any one else at the moment. The song was an old one written over twenty years ago, the words she uttered were quiet, her eyes trained upon the road in front of her as she drove.

Re: Good bye to Everything we knew - The Escape
'I'm not going anywhere Riley.' But why did it fell as if everyone has already left him? He didn't want to lose anyone else, he didn't want to be alone, not in a world he couldn't even remember.

..You're everywhere

First it was the voice that had caught his attention, was Catherine speaking to him? But then he opened his eyes and she was singing softly, her voice was nice to listen to, his eyes kept closing and he was still drifting in and out of a very light sleep as he listened to her sing.

..You're always there

..Cause you're everywhere to me

..And when I close my eyes, It's you I see

..You're everything I know

And when I catch my breath, It's you I breathe

There was something strange about that sentance, infact this whole song, it felt so familiar, as if he's heard it somewhere before. The words where so comforting because of their familiarity, and the fact it was Catherine singing these words made it feel even better.

..You're everything I know, That makes me believe

..I'm not alone

Part of Riley was frightened of being alone, he may only remember three, three and a half hours of his past, but he was starting to figure that small detail of Riley Finn out. His eyes remained opened now, watching Catherine singing, her own eyes seemed focused on the road ahead, but Riley didn't care. For once he wasn't worrying about being hunted down and killed.. now it was just what words might be next in her song.

..And you're everyone I see,

..So tell me, do you see me???

It was probably the first time in a very long time that Riley actually grinned, the faintest laugh heard, this woman just did one amazing thing after another. If Riley could only remember the very first time he saw Catherine, remembered the first words that came screaming from her lips.. He would have just realized how much she's grown, he would have been so proud to have realized this change for the better.

"I think it'd be impossible for someone to over look you Catherine." He liked that song, it reminded him of Catherine.. and of other things that he was struggling to try and remember, the words reminded him of something.. something important.

"There's a round about coming up, turn left, then right at the first road, it takes.." Riley shifted again, now shifting so his back was completely against the door and he was leaning against the seat.

"..us right into Harmony." He finished up, Spike giving a scoff before he added in quietly with a very disgusted tone in his voice.

"Harmony, what a bloody stupid name for a hellmouth." But that still didn't stop Spike from keenly watching as Cat drove into the street that took them to Harmony, pleased with the fact there weren't any dead bodies mounted along the road like scarecrows.
