'My father ... he works for the initiative.' There was a pause as Jon pulled out his chair, feeling it scrape along the floor, hearing the squeaky noise of metal against the floor.
'Well not really work for in the sense you and I do ... he's a very influencial man, he keeps a look out for any demon activity in Washington.' Jon sat down and glanced around the empty hall, he knew that the place should be full at this time of day. He been there yesterday morning even if it was just quickly with Joan and it had been packed. He knew this was probably because of Riley, he had to feel sorry for the guy, he was just as much a prisoner as those demons, only he had more room to move about. He wondered what Riley would think if he knew that, he probably wouldn't been too pleased, yet he'd be alright until he decided he wanted to leave to go shopping or something.
'I didn't know he was part of the initiative of course, but he must have put my name forwards cause a couple of operatives turned up at me house.' Jon shrugged and looked down at the table, resting his elbows upon the surface. Knowing he was watching Riley as much as getting to know him, he'd be asked how well their drugs were working upon him later he was almost sure of it.

Well that wasn't what happened to Riley, he was snagged by his Psych teacher, pulled into this world unaware of what he was really signing up for. Well he didn't realize until they actually told him to cut all contacts with his family...that was really the blow that crippled his desires to stay here.
Another frown crossed Riley's face, but before he was able to react on this thought, it faded and was replaced with the desire of food. But just as quickly as that thought came to him, once again his mind leapt onto another topic.
"You're lucky then....at least your family knows about you."

He glanced across at Riley watching a frown flit across the young man's face, wondering what he was thinking about. He shrugged quickly, not really knowing what to respond with to Riley's statement.
However the arrival of their breakfast broke the uncomfortable silence that was settling over the pair of them again. Jon hungrily attacked the pancakes on his plate, liberally pouring thick syrup over them from a small jug he was handed. It was strange their breakfast being brought to them as well, he was surprised Riley hadn't commented more on what was going on. He wondered exactly when they had given him, it must be something that messed up his memory, he seemed unsure of himself as he talked about the farm and his parents he had used to know.
'So how long have you worked for the initiative?' On said though a mouthful, taking a gulp of water from the glass next to his plate. Tasting the sweetness of the syrup in his mouth mixed with the warmth of the pancakes.

It wasn't much of a reaction as the plates where placed in front of them, Riley seemed to ignore the arival of food even though he was practically staved since he hadn't eatten in over a day and a half.
"How long?" The agent repeated with a slight frown as he thought, quickly trying to remember, then with another frown as he stared down at his plate.
"Too long." He murmered quietly, but then blinked, and sat up straighter as he reached for the glass of orange juice he was given.
"Sorry, what was the question?" Taking a sip, he placed the glass down and pushed his dish away from him slightly.
"I'm going into Salem Center later today, it's Suzie's birthday, Forrest got her a gift, I forgot...can't believe I forgot, want to come?" The sudden turn of depression he seemed to have slipped into earlier suddenly bounced back into his more cherpy nature. Talk of his family ovbiously effecting him strongely, though he didn't notice it himself.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: Getting to know you new roomy'Too long.' Did Riley still want to go home? he did last night, Jon could remember his befuddled words as he requested that Joan let him go home ... but did he mean back to Xavier’s or Iowa?
'I-I have to go back, please Joan, let me go back..'
'I have to go home, let me go home, they think I'm dead..'
'Ummm.' He started knowing that Riley wasn't allowed to leave the compound ... not at the moment anyhow ... there was nothing to say he wouldn't vanish off back to Xavier's if he remembered it and Jon didn't fancy another trip up there to bring him back.
'If you go I guess I could come.' He said without commitment, taking another mouthful of pancake and chewing thoughtfully, knowing there were about six security cameras trained upon them, and that their every word and movement was being watched with a hawk like quality.
'Arn't you hungry?' He said more brightly looking at the man's plate, you were famished a minute ago. Jon was starving, Joan sure knew how to work up an appetite.

"I didn't realize I had grabbed it, I must be half asleep.." Taking in a deep breath, he stared at the simple slice of toasts, smeared with butter and other toppings he wasn't really used to having for breakfast.
"And I grabbed the wrong plate...I'll eat when we get to Salem.." He finally decided with a shrug pushing away the plate once more, ignoring the hungry he felt.
"I'm supprised I didn't see you last night, I thought you'd already arrived." Riley's eyes scanned over the hall for a moment, then he quickly added.
"Are we missing a meeting somewhere?" With a hint of worry in his voice, missing a meeting was against the rules...he wasn't keen on getting punished.

He followed Riley's eyes around the room, thinking quickly to make up an excuse for the lack of personnel about the place.
'You heard what your mates said didn't you? There all on recon.' He paused, still frantically thinking of what he could say to Riley. 'Ah ... you'd probably have been out of it then .. the Dorgoth demon. Yesterday we found a couple of major vampires are wreaking havoc so basically the whole place has been scrambled out to find them.'
He finished off his breakfast and pushed back his plate before he replied to Riley's other question on his where abouts.
'Yeah ummm Joan, she was giving me my introduction and showing me around.' He said blushing slightly, the only thing she had showed him around was her body, not that he was complaining on that account.

"Shouldn't we be there as well? So what if a Dorgoth demon got me, that doesn't mean I'm not able to handle myself, I've handle ancient vampires before, I handle demons, and we did defeat the Dorgoth." He insisted defencivly at the thought he was left behind for reasons of being unfit or something.
But his departure was interupted by the arrival of the high ranking agent, Trinity, the cyborg approached them and Riley placed his hands behind his back and faced her respectivly with a straight posture.
"Riley Finn, the Commander has asked you to report to the Lab at 18:00 hours, he wishes to make sure you're alright from your previous encounter." Riley gave a slight nod of his head as she looked over at Jon.
"Joan shall be departing tomorrow on assignment, Halliwell will like you two to remain as back up guards for the base until then, no leaving the grounds." Riley watched her turn about and walk off without another word, his hands returned his side, his left fist tapping against his thigh for a moment. With another frown, he purposfully flicked his hand forward and tipped over his glass, the orange liquid flowing across the surface of the table, walking off without even glancing at Jon.
He hated Back up duty, it was just another excuse to keep feeble officers out of action, he couldn't handle whatever was going on, why didn't they just demote him while they're at it?
"I can't believe I gave up a home for this." He mumbled to himself as he left the center, walking down the halls, not really caring where he was going, just wanting to walk...somewhere, maybe he can swing by the holding cells...

He watched Riley knock his glass over, the only mutiny he decided Riley dared to carry out here in the initiative base. His eyes followed the man from the room, then he wondered what Commander Halliwell would say if he knew Jon had let Riley wander off by himself when he was meant to be guarding him. He couldn't help but think the fact that he had been refused access to the outside world was a bit unfair, it wasn't like he had done something. He wanted to go on an exciting mission, do something dangerous, not baby-sit Riley.
Giving a groan he pushed his chair back and hurried out of the room, glancing back at Riley's untouched plate as he went, gee he was hungry he could have eaten that as well.
Where was Finn going. He hurried after the boy, catching him up down one of the tunnels. falling into step next to him
'Finn were doing good here. Were protecting the public. There will be other vampires, we can go into the town any time and you can get that present.' ... It made him remember, it was Cat's birthday today, he wondered how she was holding out, especially in a strange school surrounded by people she didn't know. This wouldn't be the best day of the year to try and make friends with her.

I just wanted her to stay 3 days so she could see my gift, I wasn't sure if she'd like it, I wanted her to get to know them, get to like my friends, then she might stay with us.." The Special Agent paused mid step and stared rather blankly ahead for a moment. Where'd that come from? He frowned in confusion and turned to face Jon yet stared thoughtfully down at the ground.
He said it so smoothly, it made sense to him...he didn't have any friends, other then Forrest and Graham, no one else, what gift did he get? He knew it was important to him, he really hoped she'd like it, he knew Angela would like it, but he wanted Catherine to-Catherine?
"I don't know a Susie....Forrest lied to me.." Riley thought for a moment more, then placed a hand on the side of his head as the now familiar sensation of the chip very lightly buzzed, causing him to feel a faint tingly numbness, but he ignored it.
He closed his eyes for a moment, his hands moved in front of him, his palms held out to face him so his eyes could study over them. Her hand, he held her, he could remember his arms around her, she put her hand in his.. His gaze was then studying the wall of the hallway as if he could see something painted there, he closed his hands, his fingers gently rubbing together as if he could feel something on his skin.
He looked back at Jon, then with a blink he stared back down at his hands, something was wrong, something, or someone, was going something to him, but who? What? ...More importantly...why?
"Everything's muddled up..." He spoke quietly as he thought, his eyes searching for something on his hands, something he remembered...something that made him really upset. ...Blood. He was, it was Catherine's, he was holding her hand...she was, Spike, Spike was holding her because Riley wasn't able to.
"I hate them, I hate the Initiative, look what they did to me! I can't even help her!" Riley looked back up at Jon, taking a slow puzzled step away from him, he frowned in confusion, uncertain of what was going on. His back pressed gently against the wall, which memories where real? They where all different, they where all so real, but which ones where....which where true, what happened? Why where they all blurring together..

He eyed the man, walking a few breasts apart from him, he had no idea what the guy was talking about.
'Finn who are you talking about?' He questioned, he didn't say anything about Forrest, he didn't know a Suzie but then he hardly knew anyone. He wasn't sure exactly what they were up to, the initiative, they couldn't pretend that everything was alright forever. One day he would start to question why he couldn't go outside ... and what would they tell him then.
He watched Riley step away from him an almost wary look in the depths of his eyes. Jon saw him lean against the wall, as if he was weary.
'You alright mate?' He said in response to Riley's statement about everything being muddled up. 'Maybe you look a harder blow from that demon than you realised?'

Placing his hand over his head, Riley could only agree with what Jon had suggested, those faces, although slightly familiar, weren't agents, so maybe he was remembering faces from the acadamy..
"I don't know." He replied to Jon's question of who Riley had been talking about, what was the name he was thinking about before? It was a nice name, he really liked it, it was sweet and sounded so wonderful when it rolled off his tongue, like the name of his favorite song...whatever that was..
"Her name...her name was...was..." He thought hard for a moment as he tried to remember, the name was just on the tip of his tongue. He stared at Jon rather blankly as he tried to remember, then frowned and placed his hand over his stomach.
"Hey, why'd we stop? I thought we where heading to the Center for breakfast, something wrong?" The drugs where still settling into his systems and what with all the others swimming around in there as well it was taking some time for its effects to settle in. He already lost his trail of thought on the matter of both Catherine's present and being trapped in the base for 'back up duty'.

Re: Getting to know you new roomy'Hey, why'd we stop? I thought we where heading to the Centre for breakfast, something wrong?' Jon threw him a glance, he wasn't too happy with whatever they'd given Riley, the guy didn't seem to know if he was coming or going.
'No nothing's wrong, sure we can go get breakfast if you want?' Jon said rather eagerly, he was still hungry, he'd have asked for seconds if Riley hadn't have practically stormed off.
He wondered who Riley had been talking about, probably some lass he'd had a crush on from that stupid school ... or maybe a farm girl he liked. The look on his face had indicated he liked the person, Jon actually felt quite sad for him since he'd probably never remember her even though she'd be missing him. Oh well that was how the cookie crumbled he decided as the pair of them started back up the tunnel towards the centre room.

With a confused glance around, Riley slowly followed Jon, it was strange, as if he had been saying one thing, then suddenly hopped onto an entirely different topic without realising it. But if he had, Jon would have commented on the fact, so maybe it was just his lack of sleep that was playing tricks on his mind..
Well what ever it was, Jon seemed eager to get to the center, the guy looked rather keen on eating, come to think of it, Riley felt rather starved as well. Once they arrived into the center, there where a small collection of other agents all sitting scattered around the verious tables quietly talking. Trinity had returned, but she was talking with a girl who glanced towards Riley for a moment and then seemed to think carefully about something, Riley himself didn't notice as he and Jon took a seat at an empty table.
It was only a few moments later that the very same girl arrived with two plates of food for the boys, her long brown hair was out, which hinted she wasn't on kitchen duties since it was a must for hair to be tied up when on those duties. But again Riley thought nothing of such a minor detail as he looked up at the green eyed girl who smiled back at the guys.
"Mornin' boys, got you some of the specials, Jon, care for some Pancakes? Feel free to get up and grab something else if ya wonna." She let the plate down in front of Jon, though she didn't know the boy, Trinity had told her that he was looking after Riley who was sufferiing the effects of Dorgoth poisoning. Her attention then was devoted solely onto her team leader, when he was on duty anyway, but Riley seemed unfocused as he stared off towards the far wall of the center.
"Riley, hey, heard what happened with the Dorgoth, hope the poison clears ya system soon." With a faint smile, then an uncomfortable glance at Jon as Riley didn't seem to notice she was talking to him, she then placed the plate down in front of him.
"Eggs'n'Bacon, jus' how ya like'em." She offered with a warmer grin as Riley stared down at his plate and then up at the girl, a sudden look of recognition appearing on his face.
"Annie, sorry I didn't see you." She gave a shrug then waved bye as she headed off, Trinity not paying the two boys any attention as she kept watch over the tiny crowed. Riley seemed to have completely forgotten about Annie as he didn't even glance back at her before he began neatly cutting away and quietly eating his food.

'Cheers.' He said, feeling a little of her hair brush against his hand as she deposited her plate on the table in front of him. He watched her hips sway as she moved off, dragging his eyes back to Riley and the mini stack of pancakes in front of him. He grabbed hold of the sugar bowl this time and began to sprinkle copious amounts of sugar over his breakfast, watching Riley eat neatly. Jon had more of an attitude of just shoving the stuff in him as quickly as he could, he never seemed to put any weight on but then he spent time on the treadmill and used the weights in the posh block of flats he populated.
His mind fell back onto the topic of Catherine, wondering how she was coping at Xavier’s, he just didn't get it, she couldn't be a mutant she just couldn't be. Thinking about his own weight caused his mind to wander onto Catherine's, she'd lost weight, he was sure of it. When he'd first met her, her body had been erring on the plumper side rather than the too thin side. She wasn't overweight by a long shot but a few weeks ago when he'd caught hold of her arm to stop her storming off in a stop when she had a fight with Brad she'd felt definitely skinny to him. It wasn't like she didn't eat, he saw her eating around him all the time, when they went to burger bars, cafe's, ice creams.
'Did you think Cat looked thin?' He blurted out, then checked himself, realising he wasn't meant to be mentioning Xavier’s or anything related. He didn't meet Riley's eye but looked down at the pancakes in front of him and acted like he'd never said anything

Placing another forkfull of food in his mouth, he chews without responding to Jon, slowly leaving his fork down as he reached for the drink of orange juice and quietly rinsing the food from within his mouth.
"...Do you have a Cat?" It was all he said, without even glancing at Jon as he then returned his attention back down to his food. He could help but repeat that in his mind...Cat...there was something...something about that word, which was odd because he didn't have a cat.
He finished his food, placing his knife and fork neatly side by side on his plate before pushing it away from him so he could folding his arms and rest his head in them. He was exhausted, he couldn't understand why he was so tired, he slept all night, hadn't he? He lifted his head slightly, blinking as he stared at his drink, he had the sudden feeling of Da ja vou ...
"Do you ever get the feeling that sometimes you're forgetting something really important?" He asked quietly as he tore his eyes away from his glass and watched Jon eating his food rather hungrily.
"I hope I haven't forgotten an inspection...or assignment.." He dreaded for a moment, but then thought that surely someone would have called him if he was meant to be somewhere else.

'Uh yeah, I've got a Cat.' He said relived that he hadn't jogged Riley's memory, the last thing he needed was Riley trying to break out when he was supposed to be watching him.
'Do you ever get the feeling that sometimes you're forgetting something really important.' Jon looked across at him, meeting his eyes, trying to look honest as he spoke.
'Hey Finn, mate I'd tell you if you'd forgotten anything important.' He let his face break out into a grin and he continued munching his way though the pancakes. 'You must have taken a harder blow to the head than you imagined ... your meant to be resting today, after all you did spend all of last evening running around trying to find the damn beast.' He reached for the sugar again, swamping his pancakes beneath it. It was a wonder he hadn't got diabetes yet from the amount of sugar he consumed, he at least deserved to be as round as a barrel.

As Jon finished talking, Riley had already given in to both the exhaustion he doesn't remember by spending the night yelling and kicking the wall in determinationg to be released, and the drugs that flowed through his systems. The agent silently asleep as the unexpected arrival of Joan came to Jon's attention. The dark skinned Agent Destiny lead Joan to the table where Riley rested and Jon was still eating, Joan gave the boy a wicked smile as Destiny motioned for her to sit and then walked off.
"I've never been pulled off duty like that before." She whispered gleefully before staring rather amused at Riley, she pulled her attention back towards Jon and leaned forward slightly.

His eyes followed Joan's movement over to the table, giving her a wide grin as she sat down, then looking back at the quietly slumbering Riley opposite him, he wished the guy could have fallen asleep in his quarters and not in the middle of the mess hall. Finn was an alright guy he decided, whatever those drugs had done to him Jon liked it, last night he'd been nothing but a jerk, but then was probably a lack of meds talking.
'Been having fun babysitting?' He smiled at her again before he spoke.
'S'okay I guess. He doesn't remember much really, he can hardly remember anything but he doesn't seem to worried about it.' He glanced back at the slumped figure of Riley.
'You think we should wake him up and take him back to his quarters to rest?' He said.
'Anyway why were you dragged off your watch?'

She shrugged lightly, before responding to Jon's question of her leaving her post, she wasn't really told, all she knows is that Riley was posing a problem of sorts and they figured it might help having two agents watching him instead of one.
"I'm here to help...what more can I say?" She thought of the idea of getting Riley into his bed, maybe she could help change him into his sleep wear.. But then grinned eagerly at Jon as she took in a deep breath and sat back.
"Maybe we should head back to the quarters, he does look rather tired." But Joan had other ideas then just watching Riley snooze off, she rested her elbows on the table and smiled coyly at Jon.
"And what are we going to do to pass the time?" She asked as if she was already growing bored.

He glanced over at the Special Agent who was asleep with his head in his arms, eyes gently closed, it was a shame to wake him but Jon didn't fancy sitting here for the next eight hours or so until Finn decided to wake from his nap, anyway the centre might be needed in the meantime.
'And what are we going to do to pass the time?' He stood up, looking down at her.
'Oh I'm sure we can think of something Joan.' He said remembering her sweet passionate kisses of the night before, the warmth in her body, her soft smooth skin.
'Special Agent Riley Finn!' He said in a loud commanding voice watching Finn jump awake in a panic a small smile tugging a the corners of his handsome mouth.
