Dan, a perfect memory is a good mutant power so 'nothing' is belittling a powerful tool and it doesn't help you develop a character if you have little confidence in something that can be a lethal think tank in near on any situations when trained and taught properly.. so you'll need to better explain the fact that he has a perfect memory of total recall, not just a 'good memory'.

ok ok i give in he has a potentially useful power, i'm only writing this from his point of view as he has a low opinion of himself...
Dan-
can remember literally everything that he see's or hears in his entire life, without exception. and with proper training can be called upon at will rather than just popping up when he really needs it.
