Re: Wed.21st.March - The Spoils of War
"So much? Ha! Wait till you see next terms assignments!" Ha? Ha himself ... if he thought she was gonna do his projects he had another thing coming. She'd do what she did with everything she set them which she didn't understand, just go along to him and get him to help her with it. It hadn't really occurred to her that seeking help from her teachers was the best way to learn. With any other of her teachers she wouldn't have felt comfortable with asking them to help her with work. Riley on the other hand she viewed more as her classmate than her teacher. As it was she could wrangle more "help" out of him than any other of his students, she was aware he'd give her more time and attention than he gave his other pupils, but then having the history they did she hardly found it surprising.

There was a sudden rush of blood to her cheeks as she felt a strong arm encircle her waist, drawing her away from the top of the bed until they were lying almost side by side. Catherine had a momentary wild thought that he was going to kiss her, her heart leaping nervously in her chest at the idea and of everything that was bound to follow. All Hank's carefully planned idea's on birth control evaporating under a surge of teenage passion. His head tucked away from hers, leaving her feeling a little disappointed that he 'd not responded in the manner she'd expected him too.

His hand moved to pin her down to the bed before she'd managed to gather her scattered wits. There was a tightening of her throat as she remembered another man pinning her against a mattress, though his motives were completely the opposite of Riley's. She pushed away the unpleasant memories, determined not to allow them to intrude on her happy moments with her ex. No matter what any other man had done to her Riley had never physically hurt her before, and she trusted him never to do so.

Cat let out a scream of laughter as he tickled her, she'd always been horribly ticklish and she remembered well the time he'd found out her weakness. Her body writhed in his grip, her hands vainly trying to defend herself, her movements knocking the box of chocolates off the edge of the bed. She was far to engrossed in trying to fend Riley off her to notice what she'd done.

She kicked out at his legs with her blue socked feet, trying to distract him from her stomach. "Well I'll just have to move up into the proper English classes sharn't I." The words were uttered jokingly but they were the first positive things Catherine had uttered about her education in far too long. They indicated a subtle changing of mind from a "I can't do it ... full stop" to "If I wanted to I suppose I could" attitude. She wasn't stupid, she just had learning difficulties which made everything that bit harder for her.

Re: Wed.21st.March - The Spoils of War
So rare were the moments that he saw Catherine smile, so rare that he could almost barely recall more then the most few and briefest of moments. It was beautiful to hear her laughter and she was even more stunning with that smile, god he couldn’t stop just thinking about the difference it made! A more boisterous laugh came from Riley as Catherine got louder, her struggle more animated as the agile mutant cringed and kicked in protest to his tickling assault. There was a surprised ‘hey’ half chuckled out as Catherine resorted to trying to push him off with her feet, he didn’t mind her doing so but he didn’t want her also accidentally kicking him where he’d be rather hard pressed of keeping up any pretence of being fine if she launched her foot at him in the wrong place.

"Well I'll just have to move up into the proper English classes sharn't I." Both a positive and a negative struck him at one with that comment, yay to her moving up in her education… boo to her leaving his class. Though the latter was rather selfish he couldn’t help but feel reluctant at the idea of her leaving, he got to spend more time with her only because she needed to study additional time during her lunch and most of the other students did their work or only needed a few minutes of help whereas Catherine was with Riley for a while, usually half her lunch time and it wasn’t uncommon for Riley to let her leave before she completely finished her work just so she’d have a chance to get out and have some form of lunch, other times he’d keep her in longer in an attempt towards punishments… if you wanted to have free time during lunch then you’d ought to put aside some free time for homework after school hours. It didn’t help that he wasn’t entirely strict and he did often find himself letting her slack while she ate her meal, which in itself could be stretched out for a good twenty minutes if Riley let it. Riley didn’t like to think he was a push over but at times he’d look back and realize he’d probably been softer then was required, he still refused to think he was being manipulated but at the same time he had to appreciate the fact that when he was in Catherine’s presence he did tend to get distracted and was so easily swayed at times…

"I’d still be your tutor, you’d have to actually stick to doing homework to get rid of me, till then I’ll haunt your lunches and condemn you to after class study sessions, haha!" With a grin as Riley spoke, the former lover was also distracted with both double checking his grips so not to be hurting her, which was harder to assess the last few days because with the drug entering his system and then slowly being weaned off them again, he knew they effected his strength, the genetic tampering would be permanent but the chemical boost was still effective enough to have caused a rather strong difference in his abilities.

Re: Wed.21st.March - The Spoils of War
Her slim body rested down against the bed clothes, temporarily exhausted from play fighting with Riley. Cat's breath came rather hard and her chest rose and fell as she panted. She might be an agility mutant but she still tired as quickly as anyone else did. The team exercises they were doing of an evening would help to increase her fitness as well as giving her the chance to hone her skills further.

"I’d still be your tutor, you’d have to actually stick to doing homework to get rid of me, till then I’ll haunt your lunches and condemn you to after class study sessions, haha!" He'd still be tutoring her? That she hadn't known, she'd assumed that if she moved up into the other English groups that she'd have nothing further to do with him. She sometimes wondered how he managed to fit everything into his class schedule, he always seemed to be doing something which revolved around the school or his lessons. Cat on the other hand was more than happy to forget her classes at the drop of a hat.

‘Whatever.’ As far as she was concerned she didn't have enough time for doing things like homework. There were so many more pleasant things to be doing of an evening. She'd usually complete homework, but it wasn't often near the standard that it should be. She didn't really help herself when it came to homework. She could never be bothered to go to the library and use the computers, preferring to hand write her assignments. This, of course, meant that she couldn't use the spell check which would have helped improve the quality of her work.

ooc: Sorry it's short but I'm shattered and unmotivated and I've got loads of jobs that I should be doing (grumbles)

Re: Wed.21st.March - The Spoils of War
‘Whatever.’ A single word and all jokes seemed to be brushed aside the simple phrase shattered the laughter and left Riley in a confused Silence. Was Catherine being dismissive of the topic or of the fact that until her grades improved she would be stick with him? Another tutor could take care, it didn't have to be him. Though, Riley wanted to be rather selfish and assume she didn't mean the latter at all.

"Whatever?" Although quizzical in tone, Riley didn't need or want an explination. At least not for that, but so many other things were needed to be discussed. If he didn't know almost with a certainty that she'd just get defensive and angry if he briyggt up anything, Riley just might have asked some questions there and then. Instead the former agent shifted his position, moving so he sat facing the gurl that was as over powering in the heat of passion as she was with her careless fury.

If Catherine's discomfort was as sever as it sometimes seemed, then Riley wanted to see, just to be sure. In the past he had asked her and she brushed off his insecurities as if they were the most stupid things she had heard, and yet still it appeared Catherine continued to be hot and hold with him, and her coldness sent waves of chills almost constantly it seemed.

There had been a time where she had said she loved him, and there was a part of their relationship he wasn't so sure about, the part that occured before he was taken by the initiative and had his memories fiddled with yet again. He could have forgotten important things, moments of intense passion or private secrets shared between them, there was no telling what he has missed. But surely if it were so important, and it seemed he had forgotten it, and still had not yet called whatever these important things could have been... surely Catherine would have tried to remind him. After all, she had known him when he had known nothing, the agents elusive memories like water in his fingers, sometimes he could almost remember but as he grasped at them there was only a residue of what he tried to recall.

There had been a moment, the first moment he ever remembered with clarity and certainty, as Catherine pulled away the cloth that had obscured his vision, her soulful eyes searching his with a desperate need that at the time Riley couldn't quite understand. He had wondered at times after that if Catherine had ever noticed his attempts of trying to catch her eyes with the same desperate need.. to see if she remembered what they had, remembered him, the moments they shared, to see if there was any recognition and care for all that once was.

An arm reached over Catherine's legs and pressed down into the bed on the other side, a soft smile offered as he tried to keep himself appearing relaxed, even if he did now half lean over her, he looked completely comfortable.

"Did you hear about the zoo trip next week?" Casual, calm, not too much sweetness and not too much charm, just casual and calm.
