Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio

ooc: exhausted so this will be short!!

"I do feel a little tired." Really ... a little?! She could see his eyes sagging closed as he spoke to her. He looked shattered, though she couldn't help smiling ain response to his laugh. "Have you ever driven a tractor?" Her hair bounced slightly as she shook her head. She'd never driven a tractor, though she had seen her friend's dad driving one. When she lived in England her best friend had lived upon a farm. It had looked fun though, sitting so high up and driving over fields rather than roads. She supposed it wouldn't be much different to driving a car though.

"I should show you.. it'll be fun," Catherine began to smile but then remember that to do that they'd probably have to go back to his parents farm. She'd had such a bad time last time she'd gone that she wasn't sure that she wanted to go back again. How she was going to break that news to Riley she wasn't sure....

"I'm not that tired actually." Her hands smoothed down the cover which he'd pulled over him, straightening out several creases in the material. "Where's..?" She watched him struggle with the pillow, snuggling it under his head, his body shifting about restlessly upon the bed. She had to admit she'd never really envisaged anything like this happening. It seemed odd to see him in her bed, when they'd been lovers they'd stuck mainly to his bedroom as it was more spacious and much more tidy. "Catherine?" She knelt down beside the bed, her eyes watching his face rather intently as she answered.

'Yes Riley...' Her voice was low, the light form her lamp casting shadows across her face, softening her features. She wondered what he was going to say, her expression encouraging him to continue what he was saying.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
The dark eyes still peered down at him when Riley managed to cast his eye over towards Catherine, she hadn't left yet, maybe she wouldn't go this time.. He was so tired of waking up alone, if she was real then she'd not leave him, in dreams she'd vanish the moment he woke up and sometimes the first moments of opening his eyes felt like the hardest steps he'd make for the rest of the day.

The slender woman knelt down, her body lowering enough to cause Riley to turn his head further so now both eyes watched her. It wasn't fair, she was so close and he could just reach out and wrap his arms about her.. he couldn't those, she was close but not close enough for that.

'Yes Riley...' There was an obvious push for him to carry on and while Riley smiled at her that was really the only reply he had in return to her comment. He hadn't really wanted to say anything, if anything he just wanted her to say something so that he knew for sure she was still there with him and that he wasn't alone. Did she want to continue talking with him then? he wouldn't mind still talking...but he got the impression that she was waiting for him and he mislead her before and she thought he still had more to say.

Riley chuckled a little as his hand reached out how one of hers and tugged it gently towards his face, she had to be real because her touch was real and her skin's warmth was real and everything about her was so real but at the same time how could it be? How could she go from standoffish to affectionate in so short a time? Riley didn't care right now, he didn't want to wonder why and just wanted to enjoy the fact it was happening at all. Both his cool hands seemed to now cup her captured hand and draw it closer till he could brush his face lightly against their hands as he curled more comfortably.

"It's.. really nice that you're here." Once again the hazel eyes slipped closed and his body relaxed on the brink of sleep, "Are you going to stay? You don't have to stay, just when you're ready..can I hold you when you're ready? I'll be careful, I don't want to hurt you, I'll wait till you're ready.. then can I? I never got to hold you enough.." His words were getting softer as he continued, his struggle to stay awake slowly slipping despite his efforts, his eyes forcing themselves open for a brief moment before closing again. "..but when you're ready."

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
His palms moved to cup one of her hands, drawing it slowly closer towards him and pressing her smooth skin against his cheek. "It's.. really nice that you're here." A smile crept over her lips, the expression in her eyes softening as she looked across at the face of her ex lover. "Are you going to stay? You don't have to stay, just when you're ready..can I hold you when you're ready? I'll be careful, I don't want to hurt you, I'll wait till you're ready.. then can I? I never got to hold you enough.." Looking a little nervous she watched him as he rambled on, unsure what to give him in the manner of an answer. However, the sleepy look on his face made her think she might not have to reply to him right now. She found herself half hoping he'd not remember anything that had happened in the morning, he might be mortified.

"..but when you're ready." She lent across, her lips touching his forehead before drawing away, letting her eyes move over the sleeping form of her ex. When would she be ready? Would she ever be ready? She'd often got the idea that Riley might still like her, but the thoughts and painful recolactions of everything they'd been through stopped her from acting upon impulse. If she decided to sleep with Riley again it was all very well when it happened, but afterwards everything always seemed to fall apart. Perhaps it they worked though their issues before commiting so much to one another things would be easier.

With a small sigh she got to her feet and moved over to her wardrobe. Opening one door she fished around inside it for a moment before pulling out a folded grey blanket. She cast her eyes over towards Riley before walking to the door. There was an impulsive desire to move back to the bed and curl up next to him. Sutting the door firmly behind her she ignored the temptation, settling down on the squishy couch and pulling the blanket over her.

ooc: I'm still sufferieng from evil tiredness (wails) If you'd rather she slept in the same bed as him I can have her wander back in there before morning :evil

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
*gasps* she left Riley! ……*tortures her while she tries to sleep* :evil

There’s a point when you just know sleep’s too close to fight off anymore, where despite efforts to stay awake the eyes no longer open, the ears strain to listen to the sounds around him and Riley’s body keenly tries to focus on its sense of touch if nothing else. Catherine’s lips pressed against his forehead, Riley’s own lips twitched slightly, the vaguest reflex made to return the kiss though his head made no effort to move, instead his fingers mildly increased their now loose hold on Catherine’s hand before weakening again.

It was nice to have actually passed out when he had, moments before the hand had pulled away and even longer till Catherine actually pulled herself and a blanket and left the room. For a while Riley didn’t seem to shift positions, save for his hands which now cupped the edge of his pillow rather carefully in his hold. Not the most comfortable of sleeps since Riley felt queasy on top of having the oncoming of a headache. It was only further into the night that he started tossing, mainly his legs shifted and his head turned, the moving legs helped occasionally drag down the blanket and so Riley’s arms often felt inclined to tug it back up about his bare shoulders.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Hellion’s dorm room, by half past four Connor was tossing and turning for his own reasons, only needing a couple of scarce hours sleep meant that by then he was really trying to force the additional rest and it wasn’t working. Unlike back in his father’s apartment though Connor didn’t think it’d be so great to get up and starting wandering around as if it were morning while everyone else was still fast asleep. Hunger was really disturbing him and he hadn’t eaten as much as he would have liked simply because Connor had only slept over here for a grand total of three nights and the first night had been earlier in the week, Thursday and Friday night were the only consecutive nights he was in here. And he didn’t plan to stay another night after this, he’d told his team mates he’d try to settle in but he needed time, and so he shifted between the dorm and his father’s apartment frequently enough that he didn’t get homesick but still tried to get accustomed to his new group.

Nearing on five am and Connor’s gargling stomach won through, resulting in him flicking off his covers and moving effortlessly in the dark to his door handle, his keen eyesight enabling him to see even without any source of light. Which resulted with a squint once the sound proofed door had been opened, even though there were no lights on the stream of moonlight was enough to cause the squint as his eyes got accustomed from the pitch black of his room to the now lighter halls of the dorm. Fluorescent blue eyes peered both ways down the hall, one way just lead to more rooms and the other way lead towards the main area, which is the direction he chose to walk towards. All rooms were made in a way that allowed a reasonable amount of sound to be stopped from either entering or leaving, and every dorm had at least one ‘specially adjusted’ room. For teams whom had members with special needs, be them physical, such as Michael from Green Rescue, or mental… such as Connor’s claustrophobia. While Michael’s room had rails an such to help him manoeuvre in the bathroom, and offered the space to do it safely, Connor’s bathroom had all the same minus the rails, which could be added or removed depending on the occupants needs. The slightly different rooms were never introduced as being different, more commonly the team mates would recognize it for what it was, to help aid those who needed the aid, some people weren’t however familiar with the issues others may have and so when brought here Connor’s room was allocated to the absent member by Bishop before the other students were given free reign to pick and choose.

The fluid and near silent movements of the feral paused entirely however upon entering the main room, where one of his team mates appeared to have chosen to crash for the night. Why Catherine was there didn’t really click, even as the familiar yet foreign scent of her guest was noted. Riley had his problems lately and it meant that even though Connor had briefly spent time with the supposed best friend he never really got to talk much or often at all because half the time Connor’s been back Riley seems to have been in the medical bay.

Having a team of guys and then this one single girl seemed silly, some of the guys were comfortable enough to walk around half undressed if Catherine wasn’t around and then she’d walk in and Connor assumed that had to be rather awkward for her… And the fact it was five in the morning meant that Connor hadn’t figured anyone would be awake and yet that was somewhat true, he turned about and walked back to his room, not to give up on food, but to place on a shirt. Take two, and Connor was back, this time with a grey t-shirt and his black cotton trousers, this time however he had his tiny kitten with him, only because the small ginger cat had woken up this time and started following along. Connor loved his little feline and it came with him wherever he slept, though the first night the tiny guy had been rather skittish from the new area, he quickly warmed up to it though, but stayed extra close to Connor regardless. Again the feral paused to stare over at the couch where Catherine slept, then he looked keenly towards the kitchen, he’d hate to disturb her, and he was especially cautious due to the fact he had sensitive hearing he knew in his family how easy it was to wake people… he wasn’t so familiar with others but knew it wouldn’t be quite so easy… still… some people were light sleepers… he’d feel terrible for waking her, but he was starved!

A soft meow came from the kitten in Connor’s arms, whom got a gentle petting as the feral mutant bravely moved towards the kitchen area, his eyes glancing repeatedly over towards Catherine, his perfect eyesight able to tell him if he’s woken her despite the darkness that loomed around them. There was always jokes over at his father’s place about how Logan’s kids emptied out the fridge so easily, but Connor still felt bad for it, he couldn’t help feeling hungry and he knew that but he wasn’t at all comfortable with eating the food here and leaving others without something to eat. Of course their fridge was stocked more regularly while Connor was around specifically for that reason, Jean even stored bottles of fresh juices and clean water that Connor could take during the day.

As soon as Connor opened the fridge his eyes turned away at the sudden blinding light, constantly forgetting that unlike his father’s fridge this one actually lit up inside and the sudden intensity always hurt his sensitive eyes. The tiny kitten began meowing rather eagerly though, small creature with strong vocals as most cats and Connor panicked slightly at the noise, pulling out some milk as the kitten kicked up a fuss.

"Shh." He tried to whisper but as one would expect it didn’t work, it seemed Connor wasn’t the only hungry one, so much for a stealthy creature, Connor shook his head a little while looking for something to pour some milk in, this cat was hardly stealthy when it wanted food! Then again, most of the rest of the time he barely made a peep, save for the content purring here and there.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
Dressed in an almost see though white shift Catherine noiselessly walked along the corridor. A faint breeze tugged at the cloth, making the dress cling to her hips and the swell of her breasts. Golden hair curled loosely down her back, dark eyes catching the reflection of the moon. Her footsteps slowed and halted as she reached a door made of mahogany. Catherine's hand stretched out to take the guilt door handle, slowly. Turning the handle she pushed the door open.

A sudden noise started her from sleep ... she felt a flicker of annoyance run through her, she'd never know what was behind the door now. The second emotion to hit her was fear, what had awoken her?

She sat up quickly, the blanket slipping from her body, pooling upon the floor. Her eyes darted towards the source of light she could see behind her. A figure stood outlined by the soft light. Catherine's throat contracted tightly, her body tensing for action in case the intruder was a threat.

It took a moment for her to register that the shadow was male, and another second to determine that it was in fact Connor. Her eyes adjusted to the faint light. allowing her to pick out his features in the gloom of the room. Her gaze darted away as she caught sight of the tiny kitten as it crouched over the bowl of milk. She knew Connor had a kitten but she'd never seen it that often, it's ginger fur looked so soft. If Connor hadn't been there she'd probably have tried to stroke it, but she knew it was impolite to go and start fussing over something which belonged to someone else.

Tearing her eyes away from the miniature cat she looked back at Connor, her eyes meeting his. She wondered what he must be thinking ... why was she sleeping on the sofa. 'Riley lost his keys.' The words were friendly enough, but there was an undercurrent of a bite to them, in case her team mate responded in a negative manner.

She hadn't really spent enough time around her new team mates to know where she stood with them. Cat was quite sure she didn't really like being the only girl on the team, she'd not appreciated the other girls on X-force. But she often felt a little like the odd one out. There was a few empty rooms though so she was hopeful that other team members were planned to be added.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
Movement in the seating area signalled Connor’s failure of stealth, he knew he could be rather silent but he’d not thought about his kitten and that had been his downfall, but hopefully she’d not get upset that he’d woken her, some people after all acted as if you’ve committed the ultimate crime… then again, not everyone was like his sister Madison. Despite the darkness Connor could see the shift of emotions typical of waking up with a startled confusion, trying to figure out what was going on and assess the degree of danger or annoyance it held.

For a moment Connor stood there with a 600ml bottle of freshly squeezed and pulp free orange juice, his other hand gently placing down the sandwiches he had made the night before to snack on after they had their dinner. It became rather clear that Connor ate a lot but Bishop had already explained that their fridge would be regularly filled every few days because of Connor’s need to keep a relatively steady flow of food and drink in his body. It resulted in the first week being mostly constantly packed since Connor wasn’t around.

When someone was half asleep it was sometimes better to leave them to try and figure things out for themselves, especially since Connor wasn’t sure how well he actually knew her and how friendly-like an acquaintance she considered him to be. So there was a paused hesitation to allow her a moment to look over at him, fully aware that not everyone had the same night vision he had, and for the first time in Connor’s life he actually had a memory recent enough to help him understand what other people could usually see, or not see, without enhanced vision or any other senses.

At least Catherine’s eyes adjusted and it seemed her body relaxed slightly, her eyes met Connor’s and he tried to return a polite smile, though part of him was praising the decision to go put on a top considering she was now awake. It didn’t look as if she was about to lash out at him, usually that was signalled by an increase in tension, not a decrease, which allowed Connor to ease slightly himself, last thing he wanted was to get on one of his new team mates bad sides. Bishop had already also warned the group of Connor’s tendencies to clean, keep room doors clothes or suffer the consequences of a clean up and while Connor fully understood how intrusive it was to go into other peoples rooms he could control the impulse and it was only fair that the other students be made aware of it… Connor would definitely crack at the sight of Catherine’s room.

'Riley lost his keys.' Connor smiled again, but really he felt a bit intrusive even if she was the one offering that sort of comment, he didn’t want her to explain her actions to him, it wasn’t his place and he didn’t expect it from her either, it was her life, and as long as she understood other people would possibly make use of this area while she tried to sleep then Connor wouldn’t complain… she obviously had her reasons. The curious thing that Connor did wonder however was… he had gotten the distinct impression that the two of them were going out, so if they were… why was she out here instead of in there with Riley?

"Sorry I woke you," The gentle voice that returned would have been unexpected if the only connection with the family one had were Madison and her somewhat aggressive attitude or his have his father for a teacher. Connor was always considered the calmer of the lot, his temper only flared as easily as the rest of his family when someone had the nerve to step over his sisters in any way, and now the nine-year-old was added to the family Chris was also part of that protective rage. There was a brief hesitation as Connor glanced towards the rooms, thinking of the reasons that a couple could have for not spending the night together… was it out of respect for the other team mates? Was there a fight? Connor was still very new and unknowing with relationships, part of him wanted to learn the workings and mechanisms of this, especially as he noticed he was taking some interest in a few girls, more so being Racheal, something about her just screamed ‘click’, though if that made any sense to anyone else he wasn’t sure.

"It’s no one’s place to demand excuses though Catherine so don’t feel you have to make them, if you two are together then you both have a right to see each other, no one else can judge you for that, and even if you’re not together, it’s still your right to have a friend over." His hands unwrapped the glade wrap that covered the sandwiches, trying not to bite into the thing with as much hunger as he felt, sometimes he could make it appear as if he was barely fed, but every few hours he had to nibble on something or Connor risked the side effects a lack of food had on the body. A calmly chewed bite was mustered rather well as Connor stood, the kitten meowing once more at sight of the food in Connor’s hand, though it seemed torn between leaving the bowl of milk and venturing to see what Connor was eating.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
"Sorry I woke you," There was a slight shrug of her shoulders as he spoke. It didn't really matter, she could just go straight back to sleep. Cat wasn't the type of person to toss and turn for ages, the world of dreams stalked upon her almost the moment she closed her eyelids.

She glanced at the food he had held in his hands and then looked away, she wasn't intested in eating at this time of the night. But then she'd never really been one for snacking between meals, not unless the mood for chocolate came over her. She twitched the blanket a little more over herself, feeling odly undressed in her pjamas. Sometimes living with men could be a little akward, still it wasn't all bad... if they chose to wander around semi naked she wasn't about to complain. If she was lucky it might even put Riley out, feeling he might be jeolous of other guys made her feel attractive and desirable.

"It’s no one’s place to demand excuses though Catherine so don’t feel you have to make them, if you two are together then you both have a right to see each other, no one else can judge you for that, and even if you’re not together, it’s still your right to have a friend over."

'God! Don't be so retarded Connor, you know Riley and I aren't dating.' Her voice sounded exasperated as well as annoyed... what was it with everyone? Why did everyone think they were a couple all of a sudden. She lay back down again, turning her head away from her team mate. It was hard not to be waspish with people if they were going to act so stupid all the time.

ooc: Sorry it's short, I've got a huge pile of dishes to do (wails)

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
'God! Don't be so retarded Connor, you know Riley and I aren't dating.' Did he now? And how was Connor supposed to know that? It was painfully obvious they were more then friends even if it was also clear they weren’t sleeping together. Whatever was keeping them apart was enough to cause the drift in the relationship but not enough to stop the fact that both still cared about each other and the way they both acted between each other with or without company was pretty hard for people to blindly ignore the fact that both seemed interested in each other, more so then anyone else around them. That tended to be a key figure in relationships, even if they weren’t officially dating, they definitely weren’t officially not interested in each other either.

The sad thing was that Catherine seemed to have a more certain idea on her relationship with Riley then Riley seemed to, and it somewhat irritated Connor there and then to think that if she loved the guy half as much as he obviously cared about her, then how could she live with herself tugging him along in the dark without ever taking the time to try and explain things. Connor was getting the distinct impression that Catherine just expected people to come to conclusions on their own, but unlike most people Riley was hopeless, you’d think moving to another state was a big enough hint that Catherine broke up with him, and yet Riley was the kind of guy to think ‘maybe she’ll come back’. By now most people would have just let Catherine be, half the things Riley said just put Connor off, Catherine seemed ok enough, but maybe she just wasn’t dating material, but there was no way in hell one could ever hope of getting that point across to Riley. At some point, somewhere in their past, she obviously did something, or said something, which assured Riley in his mind and in his heart that she was the one, regardless of the crossed signals he kept getting.

Catherine was pretty, but Connor wasn’t so sure that was all that really clicked with Riley, Connor’s friend was so obviously attracted to Catherine that Connor more commonly then not found himself almost awkward being around the two. It hardly seemed fair that the pair were so into each other and yet neither made the attempts needed to secure the relationship. And technically Connor never had a girlfriend in his life, who would put up with his often quite strange compulsions, even his family tended to still be put off by some of the things he did or how Connor responded to certain situations.

"Have you actually ever told Riley you and he aren’t dating?" This so wasn’t his area to pry in, and if anything definitely not his field of expertise, Jesus he’s never even had a girlfriend… Sarah was so not on his list as a proper girlfriend, and yet perhaps that’s why he prodded in a little… Just because Sarah said ‘I’d not be caught dead living in a school for freaks,’ doesn’t mean that she specifically dumped him, Connor took the hint as it was intended but he was still very offended and hurt by Sarah’s lies to him and for that reason he wasn’t exactly crushed by the parting of ways. "Relationships aren’t all one sided Catherine, saying you aren’t dating doesn’t change the emotions you or he feels, and at least you have someone that fawns over you despite your short comings, I have never met anyone who’ll overlook my disorder, it’s all they ever see." Connor never liked thinking of his compulsions as a disorder but that’s what they were called since they did control his life, and just because Connor hated the definition didn’t mean it was any less true. There was a slight growl as Connor carefully picked the kitten up from the bench, cradling the kitten in one hand and picking up the plate, he didn’t want to tell her off since he didn’t know her reasons for keeping her distance from Riley but she can’t show she’s still interested and then beat him off with a stick all the time, it wasn’t fair on the guy and Riley was such a ditz Connor had he feeling Riley would just take the abuse.

There was little time between Connor’s last comment and the moment he opened the front door of the dorm room, he was getting upset and it was more then just over Catherine and Riley’s relationship, he was taking things personally and he wasn’t entirely liking that either, he didn’t want to relate to what was going on between the two, but at the same time he felt like some how he was there caught up in string of nightmares that had also haunted him. Surely not all girls were as careless as Sarah and Catherine though… surely there were some that cared, some that had grown up enough to see beyond themselves. Connor was so sick of being so alone and as the door slammed shut he headed towards his father’s apartment.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
"Have you actually ever told Riley you and he aren’t dating?" The anger in her eyes flickered in a surprised response to his words, the effect only lasted for a moment, the dislike in her gaze intensifying. Did he think she was the type of girl who just didn't tell a man that they weren't dating anymore. Anyone like that deserved everything life threw at them. Her bluntly hurtful words at Christmas could have been construed as nothing other than them breaking up.

"Relationships aren’t all one sided Catherine, saying you aren’t dating doesn’t change the emotions you or he feels, and at least you have someone that fawns over you despite your short comings, I have never met anyone who’ll overlook my disorder, it’s all they ever see." Short comings?! Her body sat bolt upright on the sofa as she glared at him. If Riley didn't see them then they couldn’t be counted as "Short comings." It wasn't Connor's place to judge her. Just because he was Riley's best friend's he seemed to think he could just say what he liked to her. How dare he presume he knew anything about her and Riley.

Staring at the door to the corridor he'd shut behind him, she quickly made up her mind that she wasn't letting him get the last word in. Scrambling to her feet she hurried across the darkened room and wrenched the door open. In the gloom she could easily pick out the figure of Connor. How dare he pity himself! He had a bloody perfect life compared to either her or Riley. Her finger pointed accusingly at Connor as she hissed angrily at his back. 'Bulls**t Connor, half the girls in the school fancy you... and that's in despite of your total lack of personality.' She half turned away, but then decided that she hadn't finished. 'You have a f**king cushy life and yet you spend your time fishing for sympathy, trying to make out you've had it harder than anyone else at this school!! And shut up about me and Riley, you don't know the first thing about us.'

Not caring if he was answering her she turned back into the room and slammed the door behind her. Deciding she wasn't going to wait for Connor to come back in the dorms and start whining at her again she roughly jerked open the door to her room. If everyone thought they were dating then no one would mind if they slept together. Uncaring if she woke, or hurt him she clambered straight over Riley. Laying her body down on the bed and slipped under the quilts. Grabbing the covers she rolled onto her side, not caring she had most of the blankets. Anger bubbling near the surface she stared at the wall opposite, aware of a throbbing in her foot where she'd trodden on something in the room.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
'Bulls**t Connor, half the girls in the school fancy you... and that's in despite of your total lack of personality.' The footfalls of her approach to the door warne Connor easily enough that she was, as he suspected from all the comments Riley ever made, not one to let someone else hve the last word. The girl was a screamer, she needed to let of her steam and she used words as ammunition and for that reason Connor was rather calm and collected when he turne to face the admittedly attractive girl. It was perhaps the fact that Catherine never tried to flaunt her body that really made the show of her legs a pleasant distraction, the shirt she wore was big enough to securely cover herself but still..

The feral was more surprised though, she didn't seem like someone who would run out into the halls lacking the proper get up, and being Riley's girl, no matter how complicated that way, meant that Connor didn't let himself think of her as female, but just some asexual person that he willed himself to have no interest in. Just like msot of the girls who despite their looks, lacked the compasion and love he'd look for in a partner.

But all that aside, he was also surprised by the statement Catherine made... that girls liked him? It helped tame any anger that may return to spill out in protest, the comment forced him to think about things a little and he somehow figured now wasn't a good time to as 'like who?'.

If Connor thought that she was done with her escapade he was wrong, just as it seemed she was about to turn and slam the door on him Catherine continued on with her rant. 'You have a f**king cushy life and yet you spend your time fishing for sympathy, trying to make out you've had it harder than anyone else at this school!! And shut up about me and Riley, you don't know the first thing about us.' Connor raised his brow, he hadn't said anything to her or his team to give that impression and he hardly felt having amnesia was something someone with a 'perfect like' would suffer. Beside's, his mother was murdered, his memories were stolen, he may not have the most tragic of lives but he damn well didn't have a cushy one either! One slip in his temper and this girl thinks she has a right to analyze his personality and behaviour? What a nerve.

"Grow up." It was more a sigh then anything else, she was so tiring and her adolescent screaming hurt his sensative ears, and Catherine had to have been aware of his hightened senses so shhe was just proving how inconsiderate she was towards those around her. Carefully holding his kitten closer to his front, Connor turned about and continued to make his return trip to his dad's place... Logan usually woke up pretty early.

In Catherine's room Riley was pretty content in his sleep at this point, he was so tired and his rustling about had eased though every now and there he still tossed about. Anywhere around six in the morning just before or any time after was a period where Riley was easily woken given he'd already had a few hours sleep. So used to his 5 or 6 am wake up calls it meant that his internal clock often started to stir him from sleep a good few hours before he actually started classes.

The thumping of Catherine's feet weren't so much the thing that started to tug Riley from sleep but the opening and closing of the door in a less then cheerful manner. Katie could be related to making noise and running around...but she most definitely couldn't open and shut the door. Then again, he'd thought someone had entered his room a few times before and it was just Katie throwing on of his shoes about, while the puppy didn't actually chew them to shreds she did enjoy playing with them and more often than not the canine would shake a shoe as hard as she could and accidently loose grip and it'd be thrown into whatever was nearby.

Still staggering his mind from the hazy realm of equally disturbing dreams, Riley tensed with a sharp groan as something scampered over him, Katie was famous or that and with a frown Riley tried to shut his eyes more... ignoring the fact that his ribs now protested at whatever had just used them as a spring board.

Drowsy eyes opened with a frown as his side protested to what had been a knee which just previously ignored his presence there as Catherine flung herself over him and under the covers. Confusion etched its way on Riley's tired features as he watched the outline of what appeared to be... Catherine?... clumber into bed next to him. This had to be one of those dreams again, those weird unexplainable dreams that made no sense.. Riley flinched as the blanket was tugged away, so much hostility, it unnerved the former agent who was still rather frozen in his initial position, sore eyes aching to be allowed to close once more and seek the slumber they had been torn from.

Tired eyes squinted at the lump, the waves of hair familiar yet... surely not catherines.. why would she run in like that? There was a calm to Riley, one that signalled his mind was still half off in sleep while his body tried to react to the happenings around him. The throbbing in his head wasn't so bad but even the niggling feeling of a hang over confused him since the former agent wasn't sure why his head hurt, which would have been infinitly worse had his body not been altered to handle outside substances better then the average person, even without the influence of the drug in his systems.

Who else would it be? It had to be Catherine.. it had to be.. it was just a dream. Like all the others before and all the ones to come, he could think a bit clearer now, this was all just a silly dream.

"..Catherine?" Just a whisper, as if half hoping and hyet completely dreading what sort of reply he could get. The Finn's eldest and only son was still pretty out of it considering the level of alcohol in his system but he'd hardly be as out of it as before when he was falling asleep on her. Everything was a blur for Riley, the world was black and his memories were stored too far away for him to easily access, all that mattered was that Catherine was here.. at least he thought, dreams were hard to judge and Riley's eyes closed again as his hand gently tugged at the blanket's edge, trying to pull it over him a little more. As tired as Riley was he inched himself forward to Catherine, she was so warm, so real, a hand rested itself on her side lightly and Riley's face buried the side of itself into the pillow comfortably. At least in his dreams one thing was constent... no matter how often Catherine left him, she'd always come back.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
ooc: I'm sorry this isn't the whole post, but I thought you'd rather have something than nothing!!

Catherine didn't really have much of an idea that Riley might be confused about her clambering into bed next to him. She was far too angry with Connor to think things through reasonably. If Riley wanted to get drunk and expect her to take care of him then he was just going to have to put up with sharing the bed with her.

Scrunching her eyes closed she silently seethed inside, feeling hurt and embarrassed at what her team mate had had the audacity to tell her. Connor didn't know what he was talking about... how dare he try and give her relationship advice when as far as she knew he'd never even had a girlfriend before. Just because he was Riley's best friend didn't mean that he could voice is opinions to her. Cat didn't consider it was fair!! She didn't go around trying to give Connor advice on how to date women.

Pulling the covers a little tighter about her she heard her ex shift his position on the bed. She'd assumed that her entrance to the room, however noisy, wouldn't have awoken him from his alcohol induced slumber. The idea that he was now awake was a little disconcerting. What if he tried something on with her, Cat wasn't really sure how she felt about what he'd told her earlier that night. One thing was for definite ... and that was that at the moment she was in no mood for contact of any kind.

"..Catherine?" The sound of his voice jsut annoyed her further... why couldn't he just lye there and go back to sleep. Couldn't he tell from the icy silence that she didn't feel like talking to him at the moment. She felt the familiar desire to verbally lash out at him building up insde her. Taking a deep breath she tried to subdue the feeling, Riley didn't deserve to be shouted at.

His hand rested down on her side as he snuggled closer to her. Making an annoyed noise in the back of her throat she pushed his hand away. Talk about moving fast...he might as well just jump her. 'Give over' She inched further away from him, closer to the cream coloured wall which marked the edge of her room. Cat didn't have much desire to kick him somewhere very delicate but she felt sure the urge would grow on her if he didn't get the message and go back to sleep.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
While there was a a very notible grunt at the rough shove of his hand off her, Riley frowned at yet another disturbance to his sleep, a groan replying to her demand and his body rolling onto his back. It wasn't uncommon for Katie to leap up onto the bed and start running over him, so part of Riley connected the activity to Katie, while another part was just too dazed and tired to care.

Riley had the habit of talking in his sleep, though his more eerie ability to open his eyes and still be asleep was the cause of a few problems with Forest when they were room mates and Forrest would wake Riley up for some reason and tell him something and Riley's eyes would open and there might be a short reply of some kind and yet if Riley goes back to sleep he usually woke without any recollection of any conversation having taken place.

Though in this case Riley did open his eyes briefly due to all the roughness he's been dealt, his eyes sore and his exhaustion causing them to remain heavy. A deep intake of air and a slight stretch of his legs signalled his partial waking, the movement of his legs sending a reminder of where Catherine had just previously dug her knee into his hip, not to mention the ache of Riley's head that all caused a groan and he turned about so that he rolled on his stomach, clenching the pillow towards him and grumbling irritably.

"That hurt Katie," Something along the lines of 'settle down' was also muffled into the pillow though the annoyance of his tone was really all that could be made out as his slurred words were only more distorted by his mouth being pressed against the pillow as his face burried into it. Just when he was hvaing a nice dream about Catherine, and being near her, it was always the case, the nightmares were never interrupted, oh no, heaven forbid such a thing, they went from start to finish, whereas the nicer dreams, the serene or meaningful ones, he was always left hanging and disturbed half way through by some random intervention. It wasn't fair.

Re: Saturday 31st (1am): Under The Influence of Human Emotio
Unfortuantley the room which Catherine occupied faced east and caught the full glare of the rising sun each morning. The blue patterned curtains, drawn across the window tried to shelter the girl inside from the intruding rays of the sun. However, their defences only lasted so long and withing the space of a few minutes the light was beating down firmly upon them, escaping through the small holes to flood the room.

The slender, golden haired woman muttered somehting and rolled over in bed, moving so her back was to the window. One hand reached to lazily pull the covers up slightly over her messy head of hair. She yawned loudly and wriggled down further into the covers, determined to have at least another hour before she considered getting up.

Afterall it was a sunday morning and there was nothing pressing for her to do that day. Perhaps she'd start that homework she was supposed to be doing for her maths teacher, but then again perhaps she wouldn't. There were so many more attractive things for her to do. Charlie might be persuaded to go into Salem to the cinema if she had any of her allowance left. Having been paid the other week Catherine still had a little of her money left, the rest having been frittered away on one thing or another.

Scruntching her eyes closed she pulled the blanket a little further over her head, impatient to sink back into the depths of slumber. As her hand moved from the edge of the blanket she felt her fingers brush against something smooth and warm. Puzzlement registered in her mind, but it was only an instant before she realised that what she was touching was Riley's leg.

Feeling a pink blush tinge her cheeks she opened her eyes and turned her head so she could peer over at him. The back of his head was facing her so she had no idea if he was awake to feel her touching him. Withdrawing her hand she brushed her finger tips together, still able to feel his skin on hers. A rush of confused and jumbled feelings swept over her, the familiar feeling of not being sure about her and Riley rose to the top. She bit her lip and turned her head back away from him again, unsure as to weather she hoped he'd felt the touch or not.

ooc: There it's a little longer now!

The warmth of the skin that brushed against him was alluring as it was smooth.. Though Riley's hand twitched with an eagerness to reach for the hand that stroked against him. The voices in the background chattered away, the light that streamed in through the open windows offered that gentle bathing of tender warmth.

Riley's eyes turned towards the girl sitting next to him, Catherine's smile met his own mischivious gaze and the glint of play in her eyes was a rare sight to see, but one at the moment that he felt was all too common and sweet to see. The voices continued in the background, they whispered and chatted and prattled away, though it didn't matter, not to him, not right now, never when he was busy with her... was it a flaw? Perhaps it was... but he couldn't help it.. Catherine was just... too enchanting, too captivating.. too important.

A cheeky look settled over her face, it didn't matter if the classroom was filled with students, it didn't matter if Mrs Summers scribbled away at the board and addressed the class at certain intervals.. Nothing mattered, nothing but them. And that's how Riley liked it, that's how he wanted it.. though.. he didn't mind meeting new people as he had been doing lately.. but no one made him feel alive as Catherine could, the lows the highes they didn't matter because in the end they meant he was living.

A sly hand weaved it's way towards his thigh, discreet and playful, teasing and slow.....

"Hmmm." A deep breath drew in for a moment, Riley's arms curled tighter about the pillow his head was resting on, the young man's long legs stretching out for a moment. A slight groan followed however as a tinge of an ache swimming about his head, his body slowly rolling over onto his back. From the depths of his sleep Riley began to stir, a whisper of a name touching his lips as he woke. "....Catherine.." The swirl of conciousness that threatened him was unwelcomed, he didn't want to wake up, he wanted to sleep more, to dream more, to spend more time in his subconcious world where two extremes always seemed to await him. The dreams that weren't frightening were blissful, even if they weren't real it offered a sense of calm he longed to have. Things in his life were too unstable, too confusing..

A sigh came from him, Riley's chest rose and fell with the large breath of air that was taken in and released again, a slight yawn muffled as his arms rose and crossed over his face. One hand rested down by his head while the other dragged itself down to his chest, fingers lightly scratching at the bare skin before laying to rest. Another sigh and Riley once again shifted positions, rolling over again to face Catherine, though his closed eyes kept that from him as he laid a moment longer on his side. The hand that was beside his head now tugged beneath his head, his spare hand once agian raising to his face, this time to allow his fingers to lightly scratch over his left his eye. As his hand settled down again, resting on the bed he laid upon, Riley briefly opened his eyes, just to check to make sure Katie hadn't snuck on the bed again, her fur often scattered over the covers and it wasn't a rare thing to have one attach itself to him and have it tickle him slightly.

What he saw however wasn't Katie, it wasn't an empty bed either, obviously he was still dreaming. He had to be. The very sight of who he saw, or who he thought he saw, was enough to cause a stillness in him. His eyes stared, disbelieving and yet afraid to blink, just incase... he had blinked before in his dreams and she had gone.. For the moment, it seemed all he could do was allow his hazel gaze to stare towards her... she wasn't real... he wasn't with Catherine.. he was still dreaming... he had to be.
