The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
There was a rather panicked gasp as Connor opened his eyes quickly, the cramp feeling of the small cell still weighing heavily on his mind, but it didn’t take long to realize this was not the cell. The distant sounds of commotion and loud voices calling over crowds of people in hopes of gaining their attention echoed all around, the distinct smell of foods and the dull stench of indescribable scents, all mostly wafting from the inhabitants of the area. It had been no more then a two hour drive from the Center into Harmony, demonic capital of the known world, yet kept so well hidden only those in the demonic profession knew of its true purpose.

It was dark, but the captives couldn’t see that, their cell, six meter long, two and a half meters in height, was completely covered in a wrinkled dull light red cloth, the cell had adamantium bars that were an inch thick and three inches apart, as well as an adamantium ceiling and floor. There was a bright light shinning on the cage that was sitting raised off the ground on a stage, the bright light that was revealing them to the mostly demonic or highly influencial humans that were gathering around in hopes of gathering a sample of this common trade, the same process takes place every six months, just mostly it is only with runaways and similar easily lost and forgotten souls.

“Madison?” Everything felt so groggy, since the other two were not in any condition to fight during the travel only Connor had been given the knock out gas, but what if they drugged her since then? Michael, what about him, was he alright? “Michael?” Connor added a moment later, struggling dizzily to sit up, Michael probably wasn’t in any condition to be drugged, what if his body couldn’t take it? Even Connor’s body took extra long to recover due to his prolonged use of his abilities, his body was constantly healing drug the effects of the drugs and he hasn’t even taken that sapping of his energy into consideration.

Pulling his legs towards his chest as he sat up, resting his head down on his knees for a moment as the world seemed to spin wildly out of control. There was a sickly look about him for the moment while he was recovering from his forced sleep, his hands lifting to rest lightly against his head as if it might help stop the spinning.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade

“Sounds great. Nothing like a nice stroll in the stale air of cramped hallways to boost the funness level of a family outing."

Didn’t sound like something Michael needed to answer. *Good Not sure I can. Just concentrate on breathing. Try to stay here in this little place I’ve found between passing out and screaming. The pain was around him. I was glass and I shattered and now all the little shards have come back wrong, small and sharp and it hurts.*

*Strange Other voices now. Madison? No men’s voices. Coming closer. Sounds of chains clanking. Soft curses. Orders*

"You get the girl, you get the cripple, I'll get the boy."

*I’m not a………… *Faint indignation and bitterness rising at the hateful term. Struggling back to full consciousness only to have it wrenched away from him as they roughly picked him up, sending the pain exploding through his being Then the blessed darkness.

The trip was a half remembered hell. Alternating periods of agony and oblivion. Somewhere along the way stopped the useless battle for control and just gave himself over to the suffering. No escape this time. Too soon for the wounded Hood to re-emerge.

A buried moment of panic at the thought. His astral image had been torn apart by the mystical trap set on that last door in the Centre of Inquisition. Would it ever be able to reform or was he now forever condemned to be a prisoner in his own body? That would be unbearable. A loss too great to be contemplated.

The car stopped the underlying throbbing of the engine ebbing to stillness. Then more rough hands, pulling, lifting. The world fading out again. He cried out as they threw him into the cage, landing awkwardly on the hard floor Voices laughing half heard phrases "The goods. Treat the goods with more respect." Then more darkness.

*Bright The light is bright.* Seeping in through closed eyelids. Sounds and smells and bustle. *Go away! I don’t want to be awake. Its too hard.* But consciousness was creeping insidiously back. *Oh hell this is really, really bad. What happened. We had a plan. We were going to get out. It can’t all have been for nothing. All that effort. Mustn’t move! I’ll lose it if I move. What is this place?*

Michael struggled against his better judgement to force open his eyes. He was lying face down on some sort of hard smooth surface. He turned his head slightly to one side biting down on his lip to stifle the moan that threatened to escape him. *A cage. They’ve put me in a cage! Now why would they do that? *

Memory came flooding back. *The auction! Oh God they’ve taken us to the auction. We were too late! Connor! Madison! Where are they. Don’t let them be gone! Please!*

“Madison? Michael?” Connor’s voice. The relief was almost overwhelming. Even in this situation it was good not to be alone. *Selfish! I should have been hoping they got away. That was the plan They’d go for help and I’d stay behind Except now all that has changed hasn’t it?*

*Madison!* The girl had been in astral form when they had left her in the Centre. Left her to take care of her wounded father! *Did she manage to reintegrate before they hauled us out of the cell?* Michael struggled to remember.* I don’t know! I don’t think so. What if they moved her to far. What if she gets lost like I did? How will she find her way back?*

He raised his head a little, immediately regretting the movement as the pain roared through him again. *No sign of Madison. Not that I would recognise her* he suddenly realised *I only ever saw her astral form. She could be right here beside me and I wouldn’t even know it. Please let her be here Please let her be all right.*

There were people outside the cage. People peering in at them. *Its like a zoo except we’re the animals.* He felt exposed and vulnerable, staked out and on display for their pleasure.

*I wont let them see, won’t let them know how badly I’m hurt* he thought letting his head slump back onto his folded arms *Except I cant hide it, can I. They’re going to pick me up again and I’m going to scream or pass out or both.*

*Well I wont, I just wont. We’ll make another plan. Connor can still project even if I can’t. He can go and get help and I’ll……..I’ll stall them if I have to. Buy some time. Anything rather than give in. Maybe if they leave me here long enough I’ll get Hood back . And then things will be different.*

Wih a supreme effort of will he turned towards the sound of Connors voice, gasping as his wrecked body reluctantly complied.

"Connor. Its Michael! I’m over here! Are you and Madison OK?"

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"I have to go…" Madison said, her voice rushed. Before her father could reply or even register what she had said, Madison had already phased her way out of the room becoming nothing more than an invisible ghost. The power was yet to make too much of a drain on her, mainly since she hadn’t been altering her astral form as often as Michael and Connor, but there was a slight drain which was due to her body still being in a weakened state.

She could tell that something was going on in the cell, she wasn’t what, just knew something… She had felt pain while in her mothers form and was smart enough to realise that something was happening to her body. She rushed pretty quickly towards their cell, only stopping once when she reached the corridor the cell was situated in since she had forgotten which way they had come from. But seeing the opened cell door with men inside she could easily tell where she had to go.

Hearing them talk over her weak state made Madison clench her unseen fists. If there was anything that one could say to get Madison angry at them, over everything else the angered her, it would have to be someone mocking or questioning her strength and to call her weak was just a subtle plea for pain which Madison was able to easily answer.

She had half the mind to return to her solid form and show them 'weak', then again she was stronger as herself, not Michelle and seeing her body get dragged out of the cell, along with the bodies Michael and Connor, once again knocked out, she stepped up to it and returned to her real self.

Once back as her normal self she realised that she wasn’t much of a threat to the men, her body not gaining any more strength while she was gone as it had to take care of her astral form. Stubbornly her mind yelled for her strength to return, but it just went ignored and by then their bodies were being placed into the vehicle that was transporting them elsewhere.

Her eyes opened slowly but she knew she wasn’t half a chance to escape so she closed them once more allowing her to rest. For once she had thought logically, if she got rest, her strength was surely to return much quicker. Right? She damn well hoped so!

Being a heavy sleeper Madison was able to sleep undisturbed until she awoke with her body being picked up again, not at all liking the rough treatment but one could hardly expect top star treatment in such a situation.

Thrown uncarefully into the caged cell, she felt like at least yelling something to the men, but while she may have gained some more strength with her rest, she actually had to wake fully to take advantage of them.

“Madison? Michael?” If she was willing to admit it, Madison would have said that she almost forgot about Michael and her own brother being in this also. She hadn’t completely forgotten, but she was focusing on trying to gain her energy back, so she could be of some use even though she was completely unaware of where they all were now. So she had no reason to think of them, like she had no reason to think about what her father could do as she ran off so focused on finding out what was happening to her.

She was told to stay and wait with him, but like most other orders given to her she didn’t obey them and had returned to her body. She knew that the older Wolverine probably wouldn’t be too happy with it, he was looking bored enough as it was and they had only been waiting around for a short while. No he didn’t even have company…

"Connor. Its Michael! I’m over here! Are you and Madison OK?" As Michael spoke, Madison bagen to sit herself up and since she had gained more energy from her rest she was able to do this a little easier than her fellow captives. She looked at Connor then over to Michael as she spent a moment or two balancing most of her weight in her arms.

"Yeah, yeah… I’m fine," She said as she plonked herself in a more comfier position with her legs crossed. She may have sounded a little rude, when both guys were just making sure she was fine, but Madison wasn’t one who liked being fussed over. And to her, that was being fussed over. She would always say she was fine, even if she wasn’t, but now she was though. Well, at least she felt better than how she did back in the other cell. Probably if she was half dead Madison wouldn’t admit it, she’d still be 'fine'.

Her eyes wandered around the cage. So this must be the place they were going to auctioned off in. Gee, that was nice of them to put them in a cage. Sometimes, people called mutants animals... but the cage was just taking it a little too far!

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"Connor. Its Michael! I’m over here! Are you and Madison OK?" The words drummed almost painfully in Connor's ears, or was it just the headache he was suffering from, well none of that mattered, as long as they were still alive.

"Yeah, yeah… I’m fine," Lifting his head at Madison's voice, Connor stared over at his sister in surprise, and then suspicion. But that was silly, she would have helped get their father out before coming back to her body, after all, if anything, at least their father could warn the X-men, since the rest of their plan went up in smoke.

"Perfectly fine over here." Connor stated rather simply, perhaps if Madison wasn't around there was a higher chance of him admitting to having a headache, but as usual everything had to be 'perfect' when he was around Madison or Arisa.. no.. no Arisa wasn't like Madison, with Arisa, Connor could actually be more relaxed, and less fearful of her disrespecting him for showing weakness of any kind.

"Well, that was a complete waste of our time before, well I guess aside from the fact Madison helped Logan escape, because with Logan free of the Inquisition then he'll be able to go call the X-men." Connor was staring directly at Madison, and as often is the case, his claustraphobia gave him a bit of a nasty attitude. "So we should be rescuse from this rather cramp space soon enough." The word 'cramp' was stressed a little, it wasn't too hard to realize Connor tended to comment on the small spaces around them a lot, it was one of the more obvious signs of his claustraphobia, but he only spoke like that around people he didn't consider a threat.

Sometimes however beable to read each other so well wasn't always the best thing, especially since it tended to be Madison who was the one being caught out on having done something wrong. And even though Connor didn't say anything else after that it was bluntly obvious for Madison what he was thinking. Even HE didn't leave his father behind, don't ever get Connor wrong, he adored Madison, he loved her as a sister more then any other being on earth, even though Arisa was level with her since she was born, due to Arisa disappearing on them right now Madison out ranked his little sister, Connor did not deal well with being abandond by others, especially since his mothers murder, and especially more so when it is his own family leaving him behind.

While Connor stood up he threw Madison a partial glare, unaware that Wolverine managed to get out on his own and has already assembled the X-men teams on their way to rescue them. He was lucky in the cells that the cage was not small enough to actually throw him into a panic attack, but he still got irritated in the cage from the confinement he felt. Crouching beside Michael, feeling a slight head rush from the movement but gradually getting better and better with each passing minute.

"How about you, how are you doing?" His voice was rather casual, almost as if they could be sitting on a park bench out in the open spaces for all the difference it meant for Connor. Even his expression seemed casual, almost hinting that Connor wasn't at all concerned about their situation, but then again, that was just how the Enrights were used to being, after all, emotional outbursts were only useful if they were angry, loud and able to frighten those around them, otherwise it just revealed your weak, pathetic, and unworthy of respect. And yet if someone was crying Connor wouldn't disrespect them, he'd feel bad that he wasn't able to comfort them the way they probably needed, though most often Connor has only seen tears of pain, never having seen someone just burst into a senseless dribble of waterworks.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"Yeah, yeah… I’m fine," Madison! So she was here. Michael sighed with relief before thinking *What about her father. Did he get out OK?*

The girl was sitting just outside of Michaels line of vision *How much do I want to see her. Enough to move? Well I’m going to have to some time. Can’t just lie here.* Yes you can his body screamed. That’s exactly what you need to do. *Maybe that’s true but what about the others? We need to talk, to plan . I need to let them know they can still count on me to help. But can they?* That was the question.

"Perfectly fine over here” Well at least the two of them were able to function. *Come on Michael move!. Start small and work up.* Slowly, carefully he tried to ease himself round to a position where he could see both of the others. *Its just a little movement How hard can it be.* But it was hard. Very hard. The effort left his sick and dizzy but he did manage it. *Now open your eyes and look at her. That’s what you did it for after all So you could see Madison.*

*Worth the effort. She looks a lot like her astral form. Younger, got the same mouth, the same eyes. Except this version is angry. Beautiful but angry. Well who wouldn’t be given the circumstances. I'll get angry myself . When I’ve got the energy.*

"Well, that was a complete waste of our time before," *Tell me about it! I got myself blasted to kingdom come and for what? So that we would would know how to get out of a place we're no longer in! Great*

"well I guess aside from the fact Madison helped Logan escape, because with Logan free of the Inquisition then he'll be able to go call the X-men."

*Logan That must be their fathers name. So he was free and getting help Good Because they needed it. Wonder what the X men are ? Honestly? Don’t know, don’t care! So long as they get us out of here. I really, really need to be out of here. To be somewhere where I don’t have to keep going. Where I can just let go and admit that I’m not fine Not fine at all.*

"So we should be rescued from this rather cramped space soon enough."

*Cramped? Its not that small. For a cage. And how sad is that statement. Maybe I should bring out a book A mutants guide to captivity. Labs could win one, two or three test tubes, cells could have little light bulbs and of course there would have to be escape ratings Easy, challenging, impossible. Ok now I am seriously losing it.* He felt his mind drifting away overcome with tiredness, pain and hunger. *Got to stay focused. Hysterical laughter is not going to be useful at this point in time.* He closed his eyes, drawing down on his last reserves of strength. *Breathe slow, keep calm.*

He sensed rather than saw Connor coming over to him, crouching down beside him.

"How about you, how are you doing?" *Oh about as good as I look. Which I suspect is not very good at all But that’s not what he needs to hear.*

Michael forced a smile. "I’ll live" he said, trying to keep his voice steady. Trying to hide how much just talking took out of him. "Thought I don’t think Ill be running the marathon any time soon."

"Don’t know if I can project though. At least not at the moment. That trap blew my astral form to little pieces. Not sure I put all of them back in the right order. Could be funny depending on how it comes out."
*Or it could be very bad! May not ever come out again. Lets not think about that possibility.*

"Anyway don’t worry I'll be OK. Lets just find a way out of this place. I'm damned if I'm going to let any of this lot buy me.They just don't look like careful owners to me!"

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"Well, that was a complete waste of our time before, well I guess aside from the fact Madison helped Logan escape, because with Logan free of the Inquisition then he'll be able to go call the X-men." That might actually help if she had actually stayed instead of worrying what was happening to her body. But could she really be blamed for being herself? What was she supposed to do, change who she was? Even in such circumstances, it was very unlikely that Madison would just change who she was for the benefit of others, or even herself.

"So we should be rescuse from this rather cramp space soon enough." There was a slow nod from Madison as she looked around the cage. Her eyes gazing from bar to bar, ignoring everything else for a moment. At least it wasn’t solid walls, so Connor didn’t really have too much to worry about with his claustrophobia, not really understanding who the phobia really effected others.

She saw him look at her and knew very well that he could tell that she hadn’t been any help to the older Wolverine. Well, there was no denying it. She had just ran off on her father when she could have stayed back and helped him find a way out. But what if she couldn’t be returned to her body if she had of stayed? See, if you thought about that it didn’t make things sounds as bad. The glare from her brother made Madison feel a little guilt. Not because she had left Logan behind, but because she had disappointed Connor.

"How about you, how are you doing?" After watching Connor make his way over to Michael she looked over to the astral projection mutant and awaited his reply.

"I’ll live. Thought I don’t think Ill be running the marathon any time soon." Being able to read Connor’s face with ease, as he could do the same to her, Madison had picked up the talent of also being able to read others faces. She can’t always read what someone’s thinking, especially if she doesn’t know them, and most of the time she gets the wrong idea from the other person causing some trouble but it wasn’t as if Madison was complaining. She could tell that Michael was in pain even though he tried to hide it. She had to admire him for that though, at least he wasn’t cowering in pain and making a scene out of it. Instead he just kept going on with things, well as much as things were going on for now.

"Don’t know if I can project though. At least not at the moment. That trap blew my astral form to little pieces. Not sure I put all of them back in the right order. Could be funny depending on how it comes out." That made Madison look away from the two guys and stare at the metal ground she sat upon and ponder over something. Did what Michael say mean that next time he projects he could look different? But if you only desired to be one person why would it change, even if something happened to his astral form after he, along with Connor, left her behind with Logan. So maybe there was something different to his power, maybe Michael hadn’t figured it out yet and he could take on forms of anyone, not just some idol. Then that meant she didn’t really have to keep wondering why she looked like her mother because her mind probably just chose that at random…

Maybe it’s a good thing Madison doesn’t like to think too often.

"Anyway don’t worry I'll be OK. Lets just find a way out of this place. I'm damned if I'm going to let any of this lot buy me.They just don't look like careful owners to me!" Great! That meant she only had to worry over herself, though it was very unlikely she would worry over someone else if she had their permission anyway. And the rest of what Michael had to say she could agree with. She was certainly not one who would like to be sold to the highest bidder, though she was slightly curious for a brief moment of how much she would be worth before she shook that out of her head.

"Your power, are you sure that it turns you into the 'you you always wanted to be'?" She asked, raising her gaze off the ground and over to Michael as she finished, her voice a twist of curiosity and a kind of determination of ‘I’m prepared to prove your wrong’. Ok, so now wasn’t really the time to ask such a thing, probably better she saved it for later when they weren’t trapped in a cage about to be auctioned off. However, Madison wasn’t going to change her habit of asking questions at the wrong times as she continued.

"I mean, really, why would I want to be someone else?" There was a certain cockiness about that question. Well, she still believed that she wouldn’t want to be anyone else and was determined to keep it that way.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
OOC Nice try Loza:lol But its not going to work Did think tho, since yourability to absorb other mutants powers comes from your mother would your astral form not also posess this ability Itcould be just because Madisons not used to thinking of her as a mutant that she didn't realise this?? Just an idea!
....................................................................................

"Your power, are you sure that it turns you into the 'you you always wanted to be'?" Madison’s question caught Michael by surprise although it had been one that he had often asked himself back when Hood had first come on the scene .

"I mean, really, why would I want to be someone else?"

He laughed faintly. No he supposed that someone who looked and moved like Madison would be quite content with who they were.

He answered her softly, minimising the effort, conserving his energy.

"Aye I can see that it might come as a surprise. I mean I’d forgotten all about my Robin Hood fixation and then hey presto there he is as large as life. I suppose it was because we were doing a project on him for history class when the accident happened. Must have brought it all back. Well at least I seem to have tapped into the Kevin Costner version. Leather armour and all that. Don’t know how I’d have handled green tights and a pointy hat!"

He saw the questioning look on Madison’s face as he mentioned the accident.

"Car hit me a while back. I did the whole near death experience trip. Thought that was where Hood came from. More of a Stephen King, Twilight Zone thing than a mutant ability. Guess I was wrong."

*Not that it was astral projection that got me into this mess. If only my blood hadn’t been so damned interesting no one would have even noticed me.*

*Get to the point. You know what she is really interested in finding out.*

"Anyhow Hood’s form has never changed. Not since that first time. I tried to get him to kook different when I was in the lab. Figured it might be easier to go get help if I didn’t look like something from a fancy dress party but it never worked."

" Not that I’m complaining. You might not want to be someone else but as far as I’m concerned Hood is the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. And I suppose that yes, if I was forced to admit it, then the whole hero, fighting the good fight, protecting the weak and the downtrodden thing appeals on some level. What can I say. Too many books!"

" Just hope that trap hasn’t messed things up too badly. I’ve never been hurt while I was in astral form before. Don’t know how it’s going to affect me when I project. Hood might come out wounded or worse. But I’m sure it will still be Hood."

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"I’ll live" That was good, living was a better option then dying, most of the time anyway. "Thought I don’t think Ill be running the marathon any time soon." here was a smirk that played about Connor's lips, though Connor understood a more personal and private side of that joke, even in top form, the way Michael explained things it made it sound as if he wasn't able to do much running at all.

"Don’t know if I can project though. At least not at the moment. That trap blew my astral form to little pieces. Not sure I put all of them back in the right order. Could be funny depending on how it comes out." Well as long as it does come out, now Connor also understood how important that power must be to Michael, it gave the feral a sense of freedom and all he had was claustrophobia, how must it be for someone who found moving a painful challenge?

"Anyway don’t worry I'll be OK. Lets just find a way out of this place. I'm damned if I'm going to let any of this lot buy me. They just don't look like careful owners to me!" Connor was not a good pet, he was definitely one that would bite the demonic hand that fed him, he did not like being a lab rat before and he refused to just let them take him again, even if death was his only way to stop them from taking advantage of him, he'd find a way to do it.

"Your power, are you sure that it turns you into the 'you you always wanted to be'?" Madison's older brother lifted his gaze towards her, Michael was the only one who knew what Connor's projection really was, god he hoped the astral mutant didn't mention anything. "I mean, really, why would I want to be someone else?" Connor frowned very faintly, staring unhappily at his sister even while Michael proceeded in telling her about his accident and fears for the health of Hood.

"Maybe you wanted to be more like our mother because she has things you don't," He added rather snappily, she made it sound as if being someone you're not was a bad thing, well it was worse for Connor when he thought that Madison might not want anything to do with him if he did start acting differently. But he knew that was a rather harsh thing to say, whether Madison agreed with its cruelty level or not, Connor knew it was mean. Everyone loved Michelle, she was always so easy to get along with, and even if she was upset with someone she wouldn't make things any more difficult then they already were.

"There's more to life then just pretending you don't care, maybe there's a part of you that wants to explore the basics of your humanity, a smile now and then won't kill you!" He seemed to start off rather quietly, then it turned a little more accusing and the last part sounded rather argumentative. "You've been so focused on fighting and hating everyone that what little friends you did have can't even get a chance to spend time with you, Garnet for example!" Aurora Garnet was most certainly not the type of friend Connor expected Madison to go out with, especially since she was the 'Barbie doll' type that was focused on looks and shopping. But perhaps the fact the fire mutant had a strong passionate burst of disliking from Frostbite helped trigger Madison's relation with the girl, Connor didn't care, she had a friend that was looking for her and that was something.

He was hardly one to speak about this, he was very similar, but he did go out with friends, even if it was mostly because he was just escorting Arlen, Heath and Scott about the place, they were new to this world and needed Connor's help to move about and experience it.

"Even Arisa has friends!" He blurted out, though a hint of jealousy could be heard in his voice, "Even if they are undead and demonic, or Royal fish people, at least she is starting to get a social life, do you think is a coincidence that as soon as she leaves us her life seems to pick up? Maybe we don't even have any right to try and find her, what do we have that's so great she has to be a part of? You're just going to start screaming at each other again!" With a frustrated look Connor just went silent and glared out at the sea of faces, were they enjoying this? A Private little real life soap opera for them to watch, just they dare come near him, Connor would do his utmost best to shred them into tiny pieces.

Madison didn’t care that Michael had a fascination about Robin Hood and had seemed to ignore his words, until the accident was mentioned, now that seemed somewhat interesting. It wasn’t as if she took pleasure in other peoples misfortunes all the time, it was just that those stories always seemed more interesting over the more pleasant and cheerful ones.

"Car hit me a while back. I did the whole near death experience trip. Thought that was where Hood came from. More of a Stephen King, Twilight Zone thing than a mutant ability. Guess I was wrong." See, more interesting! Not the nicest of stories, but it did beat something like 'I went for a walk, it was a nice day with the birds singing cheerfully and all'. For the briefest of moments she wondered what it would be like to be close to death, she had been hurt badly before but nothing too close to her dying. However, as Michael continued she became distracted from thought.

"Anyhow Hood’s form has never changed. Not since that first time. I tried to get him to kook different when I was in the lab. Figured it might be easier to go get help if I didn’t look like something from a fancy dress party but it never worked." She pouted slightly, that meant her form probably wouldn’t change next time she used the absorbed powers of Michael. Well, maybe she wouldn’t have to use his power again if she never found herself in a situation like this again.

"Not that I’m complaining. Too many books!" Michael was right on one thing, Madison didn’t want to be anyone else. Or so she kept telling herself. It just occurred to her that she was on a very similar side to what Michael desires to be on. The X-Men fought the good fight, helped both human and mutant. But Madison was yet to make it as one of them. She was no hero...

"Just hope that trap hasn’t messed things up too badly. I’ve never been hurt while I was in astral form before. Don’t know how it’s going to affect me when I project. Hood might come out wounded or worse. But I’m sure it will still be Hood." With a grumble of a sigh, Madison knew that she was most likely to come out as her mother in her next Astral Projection as it was confirmed by now. But she didn’t want to… she wanted to be Madison. That way she knew why she was her, who she was.

"Maybe you wanted to be more like our mother because she has things you don't," Her head turned slightly to look at Connor as he snapped at her. She wasn’t prepared for that, she should have been. Should have known that he wasn’t going to be happy with her asking a question like that, making her sound as if she had something against their mother.

"There's more to life then just pretending you don't care, maybe there's a part of you that wants to explore the basics of your humanity, a smile now and then won't kill you!" But she didn’t pretend to not care about things, she just didn’t care. Sometimes she would, but not often. And what if she never found anything worth smiling at? Even when something amused her it was only worth a pleased smirk.

"You've been so focused on fighting and hating everyone that what little friends you did have can't even get a chance to spend time with you, Garnet for example!" Aurora? Maybe she was the sole friend that Madison subconsciously wished for. If forced to admit, Madison would have come out and said that she had completely forgotten about her. The two teenage girls hadn’t done much, but what they had done together Madison didn’t mind, actually enjoying the company of another for once. But since then she had her forearms laced with adamantinum and they hadn’t even spoken to each other, and that was months ago…

Maybe Connor was right, though she wasn’t prepared to come out and admit it. Madison was so focused on herself she had no one. What if she was alone forever? She hadn’t thought about that since… ever! Did she even want friends? Such a simple question was actually quite hard for Madison to answer. She enjoyed training to keep her strength up, so she could be above those she hated, even if she had slacked off recently. With the words 'alone' and 'forever' in the same sentance, made such a thought seem so dark and cold. Maybe having a friend might be worth something. Maybe...

"Even Arisa has friends!" Her eyes narrowed at the mention of their half sister, not noticing her brother’s jealousy about friendship. Just as she might be coming to find something about herself, that she had never known, her mind was ripped out of that and into anger. Connor knew how much she hated Arisa, so why was he comparing Madison to her?!

"Even if they are undead and demonic, or Royal fish people, at least she is starting to get a social life, do you think is a coincidence that as soon as she leaves us her life seems to pick up? Maybe we don't even have any right to try and find her, what do we have that's so great she has to be a part of? You're just going to start screaming at each other again!" Connor was right though. It was highly unlikely that she was going to open her arms and give Arisa a hug whenever she next sees her. That led Madison on to believe that she might just have done the right thing by causing havoc at the Brotherhood in the form of Arisa to have her kicked out of that place. Arisa was probably off enjoying herself somewhere and Madison was free of seeing her ever again!

"Maybe if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have turned out to be a bad sister, terrible friend and hater of everyone," Madison sharply snapped back. It was stupid to push the blame onto Arisa, Madison was already beginning to not get along well with others before she was even born, though she did seem to hate more often after she was born. Thinking about it, Madison can’t even remember why she had hated Arisa, but she knew she couldn’t stop, there was nothing of her to like! They were opposites with the only thing in common being that they despised one another.

She didn’t care that they were being watched and heard. Every other time she argued with someone there was at least one other bystander watching. She was used to being watched, so why should being on show now make things any different?

"The sooner I get sold, the better…" She began muttering her thoughts aloud. "Might have something to smile at then." Again, it was stupid of her to say that. They were going to be saved… wait, how could they? The only other person who knew about that was still trapped in the Center of Inquisition, or so she believed. So it was probably her fault that they were going to be auctioned off. Well, there was still a chance that they could escape, but it would probably be hard since the three captives were being watched and their words were going to be heard…

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade

"Maybe you wanted to be more like our mother because she has things you don't," *What? Where did that come from?* The hostility in Connors voice took Michael by surprise. *What did we say to cause such a reaction?* Then the implications behind Connors outburst began to sink in. *So Madison looks like her mother in astral form. So what Connor , you look like your Dad! And that is probably not something to drop into this conversation at this moment* Michael thought resignedly.

"There's more to life then just pretending you don't care, maybe there's a part of you that wants to explore the basics of your humanity, a smile now and then won't kill you!"

*Her mother has a nice smile, makes you want to talk to her, get to know her. If that’s what she’s chosen to be in astral form then maybe deep down Madisons like that too. Even if she doesn’t want to admit it. Again probably not a good time to mention this.*

Michael closed his eyes as the bitter words continued. *Wish they’d stop. I really don’t need this at the moment. Its taking me all my time just to keep my act together. Don’t feel up to playing the diplomat as well. Anyway maybe this is their way of dealing with the situation. Each to his own.* Still the every increasing animosity in the cage wore on his already frayed nerves.

"Maybe if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have turned out to be a bad sister, terrible friend and hater of everyone" The sooner I get sold, the better…Might have something to smile at then."

Part of him wanted to shout out *So you think your family is screwed up? Bet your brothers didn’t help set up a whole plan just so they could sell you down the river and cash in on your powers.* It still made him feel sick just thinking about it. *How could they do that to me. How could I have been so stupid as to let it happen.*

*They played me so well. Knew exactly which buttons to push. All that crap about a new breakthrough in the treatment of trauma patients. The prospect of maybe, just maybe, being able to walk without it hurting all the time. Swallowed, hook, line and sinker. And look where it had got me. Months of brutal experiments that had nearly killed me and almost certainly damaged my immunity power. And now this. Lying helpless in the bottom of a cage waiting to be sold off to the highest bidder.*

*And the bidders aren't even human. Not all of them by the looks of things.* The sea of faces pressing in around them, drawn and amused by the sounds of Connor and Madison arguing, contained creatures he would never have believed existed twelve hours ago. Demons, Connor had called them. Some green, some red, some with horns. Michael’s mind still shirked away from acceptance. *Too much. Overload.* But under it all the knowledge that they were real and the prayer *Please don’t let them buy me.*

*Stop arguing! Can’t you see its drawing them to us. They like to see us like this. Fighting among ourselves. Entertaining them even before the auction starts. Helpless!*He left the words unsaid. What good would it do for him to start shouting too.

Suddenly he felt one of the creatures prod him through the bars He shied away from its touch gasping with pain at the sudden movement. The creature turned to its neighbour and laughed, pointing and saying something in a guttural language Michael didn’t understand. He felt humiliated, hating himself for having shown weakness in front of them. But over and above it all he was angry.

Who the hell did they think they were treating him like this? Did they think he was just going to lie there and take it. Well he would show them. *Let them think I’m helpless if they like. Whether or not help comes I’ll not give in without a fight Lets see how many of them Hood can take down before they stop me.*

Gritting his teeth against the pain he hauled himself away from the bars and into the centre of the cage. *I will not pass out I won’t give them the satisfaction.* Now at least he was safe from prying fingers. But not from the stares and the mocking comments. He had always hated the way some people looked at him since the accident. Pity, contempt, amusement. All judging him, categorising him as different, less, incapable. This was a thousand times worse. Here he was in the centre of the stage with a spotlight on him. And the audience was waiting to see him fail.

*Well I’m not going to.* He pushed himself up into a sitting position, though his body begged him not to. His head swam and the noise of the crown receded as he focused on not screaming. *Oh this is too hard.* A small hurt sound escaped his lips despite his efforts. Not loud enough to reach the buyers but enough for Connor and Madison to turn towards him.

He kept his head down, eyes closed till he was sure to be in control. When he opened them again he was staring at his brother.

"Hello Michael " George’s smile was cruel and confident. He looked strangely at home amongst the fiendish creatures that surrounded them. "Nice place you’ve got here. Made some friends too I see. Not bad. Not bad at all. Might make a bid on the girl myself. Once I’ve got my money."

ooc: Don't worry, the X-men are going to roll up in the next few posts.. just gathering the teams! Sorry I took so long to reply, went on my first offical date over the weekend! ...*Ordered an orange juice coz she doesn't drink alcohol, by time it was served was already asked to marry him, have his kids, and get a home in the next 2 years* Sooo good to know even normal dates are so stalker-ish, at least I know what to expect now after my vast 'Eza' experience, eh Loz? :lol
--------------

"Maybe if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have turned out to be a bad sister, terrible friend and hater of everyone," The instant Madison said that Connor had torn his eyes away from her and stared off at the corner of the cage with the same look he got when both sisters would just start screaming and he'd be at such a loss on how to get them to stop he seemed to tune it out completely and act as if they weren't around. He didn't do it often, but sometimes he wasn't in the mood to break them apart and get into the thick of the argument, in the end whether he interfered or not they'd get so angry with eachother they usually stormed off to seperate rooms or leave the house all together to blow off steam.

It hurt because when they were really young and found out their father had been with someone else other then their mother and had a child with her both Connor and Madison had seen their mother cry and it was so rare for Michelle to cry. Connor couldn't even remember her crying before then, and it had been so upsetting to see their mother cry and they hadn't any idea on how to cheer her up, they weren't as wonderful at saying things like she was. In the end Connor and Madison had decided to dislike the new baby, they weren't going to let that thing hurt their mother any more!

But when they got to the hospital, his mother had talked with him about it not being the baby's fault for what happened between her mother and his father. Logan and
Kurt Wagner were talking with the others about what to do with Arisa, the child was in great danger in the sense that Magneto was Married to Mystique and he would not like to know what had happened while he was off in Genosha and during the time Mystique was hiding with the X-men she had said she was out on a personal assignment or vendette, some excuse to get Magneto and her little girl Phoebe off the scent of wrong doings.

While they were all discussing were Arisa ought to stay, Connor and Madison climbed up some chairs to see the baby that lay in the small carry cradle on the table, waiting patiently for someones attention. Connor peeked over to look at the blue hued baby, her skin was visible back then, the fur coat so faint and get soft and delicate it was hard to see. Even if her deformaties were seen, the slight point in her ears which grew more prominent through the years, her tiny little fangs which peeked from her gums before any of her other teeth were visible.. and her tiny little tail that would curl about anything that came close to her. She as extremely tickilish when Connor lightly ran his finger the wrong way across the fur on her tail, it always caused her to burst into giggles and wiggle about, with her bright emerald eyes lighting up happily.

Connor had promised Arisa he wouldn't let any of those dangerous people everyone was worried about hurt her, and that caused Madison to get upset, because of what he said, because of how he acted. It was so hard, the first time he turned his back to Arisa Madison had tried to hurt her, and from then on Connor seemed to spend every moment of their times together stuck inbetween them.. Arisa couldn't even understand why Madison was so mean, Connor couldn't ever explain it was all his fault.

"The sooner I get sold, the better…" Connor gave a very obvious look of hurt even though he kept his eyes glued away from Madison. "Might have something to smile at then." The weight of Connor's body shifted slightly from one foot to the other, he wanted to say something, well, not 'wanted' more like he felt he should, but nothing seemed to form in his mind, ending up with him just staring at Madison with his hurt expression written clearly on his face for a few moments.

"Hello Michael " The expression on Connor's face faded out to his usual neutral look, so emotionless and empty, as if not even understanding the danger he was in, this all might as well be some stroll on the beach for the way he appeared. "Nice place you’ve got here. Made some friends too I see. Not bad. Not bad at all." A slight curiousity sparked inside of Connor while the boy talked with Michael, "Might make a bid on the girl myself. Once I’ve got my money." The ending of his sentance caused Connor to instantly lash out, the claws on his right out ripping through his flesh as he lunged towards where George stood. The feral's speed and accuracy meant it was nearly impossible for normal humans untrained in combat to escape the Enright's wraith without anything then a scratch.

There was a snarl from Connor, the brother was mother animalistic then his sister though he was also in very good control of his nature.. aside from when someone did or said something against his sisters. The instant Connor's left hand grabbed at one of the bars and his right hand tried to slice into the bystander who had dared speak of his sister. Unfortunatly for Connor Cole seemed to appear from nowhere and his index finger and thumb was effectivly holding the tip of Connor's middle claw just before it stabbed into the man's lower throat. Just because Connor didn't purposefully kill his enemies (Unless they were trying to kill him or someone else he was protecting and there was no other way to stop them) didn't mean he wouldn't take a chance at seriously injuring them!

There was a low growl from Connor as he looked up at Cole, leetting go of the boys claw as soon as Connor attempted to pull them back through the bars that were not far enough apart for his fist to actually fit through. The three deep cuts on his knuckles had blood trickled slightly from them before the skin began to rapidily heal and all evidence of the wound had son vanished aside from the blood that lingered on his skin.

"You two wouldn't be here if you had been good little mutant kiddies and stayed where we put you the first time." Connor stared at Cole silently for a moment before reply to the demon who had seemed to be causing a whole lot of trouble for not only the X-men, but especially the Enrights.

"There was no cable, the service was shocking, and the place was without any heater or air conditioning, can you honestly blame us for not hanging around?" After a moment the half demon, who was in his human form still, turned his attention to Michael for a moment, looking thoughtful as he pondered this mutants worth before his name was called by a rather repulsive looking demon who's yellow-ish orange skin was all wrinkled and he had tiny black eyes that were seen between the folds of flesh on his puggy little face.

"I'd stay a little further back if I were you." Cole added rather smugly to the human standing beside the cage, "If you wanted to live long enough to get all that wonderful money that is." There seemed to be a hint of sarcasme in Cole's words as he spoke to George, the high demon didn't really consider money important, and found it amusing how he could get anything he desired from someone with something as valueless as tiny sheets of little paper with faces and buildings on them.

Connor watched Cole wander off for a moment and then turned his attention back to George, slowly a smile seemed to form on Connor, one that Madison would easily recognise as the 'Watch it, we play roughly' smile he tends to give to their Danger Room victims before warning them. However with George, Connor had the feeling he needn't warn the guy.. he didn't look THAT stupid.

"The last time a human worked with that 'man', he had his memory erased, they drugged him, then made him fight all sorts of nasty little demonic pests.. I can't wait to see what they do with you." Alright, so it was a little white lie, but Riley did know Cole somehow and he did have his memory erased and he was a demon hunter, so it was a very small white lie since it was the true, just parts of it twisted in many different places!

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
( ooc- And here I though my friends planned ahead… Hey, you could write a book Angie! ‘Angie’s guide to stalkers and dating’ has a nice ring to it! )

Staring ahead of her at nothing in particular, Madison knew what she had said was wrong. But Connor had compared her to Arisa, and she never liked being compared to someone else unless it something making Madison better than another. So what if she didn’t have friends, whether they be normal, undead or fish people?! She had thought for so long that she was happy with who she was, but this astral projection was now causing some doubt within her, though her face didn’t show it. More zoned out was the look she had.

"Hello Michael " Her eyes seemed to gain a focus on the wall far behind all the demonic creatures who felt like a nice shop today, when a moment ago it was just a blur. She turned her head a little to get a look at the man who was talking with Michael, wondering who he was. The first and most obvious thing about him was that he was no friend of Michael’s, the look on his face, the tone in his voice clearly showed that.

"Nice place you’ve got here. Made some friends too I see. Not bad. Not bad at all. Might make a bid on the girl myself. Once I’ve got my money." She instantly took back what she had said previously about being sold back as her eyes narrowed into a sharp glare, and if looks could kill this one would. He had no right to even say that in his mind. None of these people… demons or creatures had that right! Her fists clenched but her claws chose to disobey Madison and stay within their forearm home. But Connor was doing, or at least attempting to cause the exact damage to George that Madison wanted.

She was grateful to have Connor as a brother. A guy who took as much care of both his sisters as he could and would stand up for them no matter what. Normally siblings fought, like Arisa and Madison for example, but they didn’t with Connor. And the fact that he was standing up for her now, when she clearly would never win ‘sister of the year’, she was proud of. Of course she would have preferred to be causing harm herself, but if she couldn’t do it Connor was who she’d want to do that.

However, Cole came onto the scene in time to save Michael’s traitor of a brother. Madison’s dark glare turned from George to the half demon, she knew that he would have to be a part of it somewhere along the line. Her hate for the man only growing, now that he had stopped Connor from doing something that might actually be a good watch.

"You two wouldn't be here if you had been good little mutant kiddies and stayed where we put you the first time." Her dark glare grew, but an amused smirk seemed to form slowly as Connor spoke.

"I'd stay a little further back if I were you. If you wanted to live long enough to get all that wonderful money that is." At first Madison thought he was going to comment on the strength that the two young Enright’s but she frowned as Cole continued speaking. It only made her anger of this whole situation grow. Maybe if it got as far as the three mutants being sold and George had brought her she could teach him a thing or two. Surely her claws wouldn’t stay idle for her entire stay with him.

"The last time a human worked with that 'man', he had his memory erased, they drugged him, then made him fight all sorts of nasty little demonic pests.. I can't wait to see what they do with you." Her smirk had slowly returned at the sight of Connor’s look, how she enjoyed seeing that look. She never gave that kind of a look while in the Danger Room, but whoever was up against her most likely knew what she was like so a warning for the younger Enright wasn’t really needed.

"Dare to even bid on me and you’ll regret it!" Her voice was icy. The threat would have sounded tougher if she was out of a cage but things don’t always go according to plan, especially when you’re a mutant. There were a couple of snickers from other demons standing nearby and her dark eyes sent a glare upon all of them. Perhaps she should threaten them, but who knows what tricks demons have up their sleeves?

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
OOC Oh this is so rotten.I'm almost ashamed:evil Almost!
........................................................................

Almost before George had finished speaking, Connor launched himself at him, the wicked claws stopping scant inches from his face as a tall man intervened seemingly out of nowhere.

Michael gasped He had not thought anyone could move fast enough to stop the feral mutants attack, but the man was smiling almost contemptuously back at Connor, completely at ease with the fact that he had stopped him so effortlessly.

"You two wouldn't be here if you had been good little mutant kiddies and stayed where we put you the first time."

Michael’s shocked mind struggled to assimilate the information it was receiving. *This is the man from the airport. He obviously knows Connor and Madison..............*

"There was no cable, the service was shocking, and the place was without any heater or air conditioning, can you honestly blame us for not hanging around?"

Connors voice dripped with hatred,. *And they know him.!*

Suddenly the mans eyes locked on Michaels, measuring him, probing, questioning. Michael forced himself not to look away, sustaining the mans strange regard steadily, letting none of the emotions that were racing through him show on his face. He thought he saw a flash of interest in the stranger’s eyes and shivered. *Was that a good thing or a very bad one?*

The man’s smile flashed again as he turned to address George

"I'd stay a little further back if I were you. If you wanted to live long enough to get all that wonderful money that is."

His disdain towards the human was clear, but still the warning had been given.

George had somehow managed to find a place in this dark underworld, even if it was a lowly one. No doubt his quick mind had seen the possibilities ready to be seized by those unscrupulous enough to grasp them .*And George is the most self serving person I know* thought Michael. *Should have realised that working with demons wouldn’t phase him as long as there’s money and power to be had. Still from the look on his face he got one hell of a shock when Connor went for him. Good! About time he learned that you don’t mess with mutants.*

Connor still leaned against the bars staring down at George.

"The last time a human worked with that 'man', he had his memory erased, they drugged him, then made him fight all sorts of nasty little demonic pests.. I can't wait to see what they do with you."

Madison’s voice, full of rage came from the other side of the cage.

"Dare to even bid on me and you’ll regret it!"

Now it was Michaels turn to smile.*She could take you anytime she wants*

"Aye George! Why don’t you try something. She’d tear your heart out and eat it for breakfast before you could even blink! Now why don’t you just run off and play somewhere like a good dog. I think your new master went that way!"

He tried to sound confident sure of himself despite the situation.George had never been able to handle the fact that Michael hadn't cared what he thought about him. That he had had his own life to lead.

Michael could see the anger burning in his brother’s face, feel him wanting to come closer but obliged to hold his distance by Connors claws. Saw the flash of cruelty light up his eyes.

"Well at least I can still run. Not so fast on you feet yourself these days eh little brother."

*Should have expected that one.*

"Cheap shot George Is that the best you can do. I’m disappointed."

George's eyes flashed again in anticipation.

"Not as disappointed as I am , Michael! I mean you’re supposed to be the smart one in the family and yet you never worked out what really happened that day did you."

Michael shot his brother a puzzled glance

"What the hell are you talking about George?"

"I’m talking about your accident Michael! The famous hit and run."

George licked his lips, visibly warming to the subject.

"God, Michael you’re so gullible. Never stopped to think that maybe it wasn’t as accidental as all that. That maybe they were actually aiming for you all the time."

Shock! *Don’t even go there ! This is private , painful. This is the one event that took my life and turned it around.* The world seemed to narrow, the crowd outside the cage, even Connor and Madison, forgotten as George went on. Smiling , always smiling.

*There was this deal you see. Went rather spectacularly wrong *George walked up and down, savouring the attention he was drawin. The ghouls, drawn to the misery generated around them.

"Left me owing a lot of money to some very unpleasant people. The kind of people that like to make an example of you so that no one else pulls the same kind of stunt. Gave me a week to pay up or else……. well I can see that you’re finally starting to work it out."

The knife turning in the wound as Michael saw what all this was leading to.

"So I was a little late with the payment. No big deal right?"

George's voice was almost exhultant.

"Figured they wouldn’t take me down straight away Not their style. They prefer to soften you up by taking out a member of your family. I just got lucky when they they chose you. I honestly thought they had killed you!. I mean there was all that blood and stuff."

Michael felt sick and cold. *Its his fault He ruined my life.* He remembered the moment when the car had hit him. The endless hours of pain afterwards.

*I had it all planned . University was a mere formality . They had already said I could get in with my grades. I only had to turn up. But he took it all away . A whole year of my life! No, all the years of my life from then on in ! All the suffering , learning how to walk again. The pills! All down to him. Ironic! He couldn’t get me hooked on the drug scene then but its still me that ends up the junkie. Hell, he didn’t even realise I was a mutant, not that that’s any excuse . When did my life become something he could just throw away?*

"Really glad you didn't die though!" George continued."That would have been unfortunate, I mean you really came through for me in the end! I appreciate the effort!I mean without the whole hospital thing we would never have realised that you were actually worth something!Just think, we might have gone through life thinking you were a complete waste of space!

Now George was really playing to his audience, the smirks and laughter coming at his command

*He’s enjoying this !* Michael realised.*Enjoying the effect this little story is having on me. And it is just a story Something he’s made up to hurt and humiliate me as a payback for having had to back down before Connor.* But deep inside Michael knew that it was true, all the little pieces of the puzzle finally coming together to reveal the hidden picture.

He saw George's smile widen as the realisation hit home, a look of triumph spreading across his face.

And something snapped! Michael had a temper. He could rant and rave and throw things with the best of them thought he rarely did. It wasn’t dangerous. Flashy and loud and rash but soon over and never really violent. But now the feeling growing inside him was cold and calculating and so far beyond anger that he didn’t even know what to call it. Fury, maybe, if fury could be made of ice.

George saw it in Michael, and whatever gloating words he had planned to launch forth died in his throat. He took a further step away from the cage, driven back by the expression in the cold dark eyes that looked at him from his brother’s face.

“Connor, Madison, I need a favour.” Michael's voice was soft, his accent almost entirely obliterated by the intensity of the moment. “When the killing starts leave this one to me. I want to deal with him myself”

And this time no one laughed

ooc: Alright..sorry this will be short.. I lost my last post.. I even had saved it in word, but my computer went all funny so when it started playing up Word didn't save properly, the only post that DID save properly was Frostbites post which I decided not to even use! *Cries... glares at Frostbite who is smiling smugly*

"Aye George! Why don’t you try something. She’d tear your heart out and eat it for breakfast before you could even blink! Now why don’t you just run off and play somewhere like a good dog. I think your new master went that way!" Madison stays clear of garbage food, even though the Enrights seem able to stuff their faces and they never put on any weight.

"Well at least I can still run. Not so fast on you feet yourself these days eh little brother." Connor didn't like cheap shots, his sister Arisa had so many people throwing cruel remarks towards her for her odd appearence and it infuriated Connor to no end. "Not as disappointed as I am , Michael! I mean you’re supposed to be the smart one in the family and yet you never worked out what really happened that day did you." Connor was only half listening to things they were saying, his eyes scanning their surroundings carefully while they talked between themselves.

"I’m talking about your accident Michael! The famous hit and run." The fact George was the elder brother made Connor's skin crawl, he ought to be caring and looking out for Michael, that's what big brothers are meant to be like. "God, Michael you’re so gullible. Never stopped to think that maybe it wasn’t as accidental as all that. That maybe they were actually aiming for you all the time." Turning his bright blue eyes over towards Madison for a moment and then looking over towards one of the other cages holding another selection of mutants about ten or so meters away from them.

"Left me owing a lot of money to some very unpleasant people. The kind of people that like to make an example of you so that no one else pulls the same kind of stunt. Gave me a week to pay up or else……. well I can see that you’re finally starting to work it out." Pulling his attention away from the other cages, seems they were the center cage, two others on either side, looks like they were part of a mutant display show. Connor gave the human a scornful glare while he continued talking to Michael, it was people like this that gave big brothers such bad reputations. It was more like a rank of authority in Connor's mind, he was not only the big brother, he was the eldest, and his entire life he was also the only one who was able to get between his two sisters and stop them from ripping each other apart. That's what family was meant to do, to stick together and protect each other, Connor just didn't feel that he was meant to protect his sisters from each other..

"Figured they wouldn’t take me down straight away Not their style. They prefer to soften you up by taking out a member of your family. I just got lucky when they they chose you. I honestly thought they had killed you! I mean there was all that blood and stuff." The bright sea blue eyes of the feral flared slightly with anger, though the calm and cool exterior made it hard for asnyone other then Madison to realize this human was really starting to get on Connor's bad side, and he wasn't doing anything to try and calm himself down.

"Really glad you didn't die though!" There was a slightly smug look in Connor's angry eyes for a moment, he wouldn't be so glade soon as they break free of this cell.. "That would have been unfortunate, I mean you really came through for me in the end! I appreciate the effort!I mean without the whole hospital thing we would never have realised that you were actually worth something!Just think, we might have gone through life thinking you were a complete waste of space!" Slowly Connor focused on the crowd outside their cell, watching carefully the sea of faces, mostly all deformed and ugly.

“Connor, Madison, I need a favour.” Allowing the deep blue eyes to turn back towards Michael's brother, the same cold, empty, and emotionless stare watching the older man with an intense silence. “When the killing starts leave this one to me. I want to deal with him myself” With a small smirk tugging in the very corner of Connor's lips, someone's voice started calling out, but the red skinned demon was speaking in a language they wouldn't be able to understand. It was obvious the bidding was starting since some of the people gathered were raising their hands and calling out a reply, some squabbling amongst themselves when someone out did them.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"Aye George! Why don’t you try something. She’d tear your heart out and eat it for breakfast before you could even blink! Now why don’t you just run off and play somewhere like a good dog. I think your new master went that way!" A smirk crept up on Madison’s face as she looked over to Michael, pleased with his words. She completely despised it when people made her sound weak, but being talked up she loved, which was most likely due to her strong pride.

"Well at least I can still run. Not so fast on you feet yourself these days eh little brother." That was the reply? She had to admit, she was expecting something a little better than that. That was just plain low. Even on her worst days Madison could think of something better than that to snap back at someone with. Though, at times she could still dig low for a comeback, but she refused to believe that she would have said what George would have if she were him.

"Not as disappointed as I am , Michael! I mean you’re supposed to be the smart one in the family and yet you never worked out what really happened that day did you." Madison looked over to George as he spoke, a curious interest had been sparked in what he had said. And it wasn't as if she had anything better to do at this very moment anyway, so she may as well listen to what he has to say.

"I’m talking about your accident Michael! The famous hit and run… God, Michael you’re so gullible. Never stopped to think that maybe it wasn’t as accidental as all that. That maybe they were actually aiming for you all the time." The first thing that came to her mind was that George had been the one driving the car that hit the astral projection mutant. But that would be stooping even lower than the comeback he had just said moments before… He wasn’t that low a guy was he? Then again, he seemed to be enjoying seeing his younger brother stuck in a cage, maybe he could.

Her initial thought was proved wrong as George continued on. So a deal that went wrong caused it, and to the human it seemed like a joke. It made Madison feel as if she was put up against George she’d look the better sibling and that only made her feel awkward. She wouldn’t have sold Arisa out like that, at least she was sure of that at this moment of time.

“Connor, Madison, I need a favour.” If she could have, a cold look would have been upon her face once again but she felt that George wasn’t worth it. Instead Madison gave him a shake of the head at what he had caused to his younger brother, before turning her attention over to Michael as he began speaking.

“When the killing starts leave this one to me. I want to deal with him myself” Her face lit up with a smirk. Who was she to get in the way of this? A single nod of the head indicated that she was going to leave George up to Michael.

Her head turned towards the demons, all competing against each other to make the highest offer. If she had to sit back and just watch the bidding, the least they could do was speak a proper language and not their own tongues, that way she’d at least know who was worth what.

“Nice to see one of us here is worth something…” She said as two demons went head-to-head against each other, making bid after bid in hoping that the other would give up.

If left to her thoughts, Madison probably would have been able to keep herself occupied with thinking over what had happened, or at least try to come up with some kind of a plan. Instead she stayed clear away from them, growing bored instantly. Well, it wasn’t as if this was the best place for amusement, unless you liked feeding off what was going through the minds of all those trapped in cages, which wouldn't have been any happy thoughts.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
George dragged his eyes away from the look on his younger brothers face fighting to regain his composure. This wasn’t how things were meant to go down.

*I’m the one in command here. He’s just a cripple in a cage! He couldn’t even stand up long enough to take a swing at me even if he had the balls to try! So why does he scare me!*

This admission of fear, sent anger rushing through George’s body. *Damn you Michael. Why won’t you ever just lie down! What the hell does it take to break you?*

He became aware that the crowd around him was becoming more and more agitated and realised that the bidding had at long last started. *About time too. Once I sell the little runt I wont have to put up with him ever again.*

It was frustrating that the bids were made in a language George didn’t understand but then again if there was one language that was more or less universal it was that of money. George felt his excitement rising as the bidding grew increasingly heated. This was big money that was being negotiated and he was going to get a slice of it.

He had worried that maybe Michael’s physical condition would have reduced his value, maybe even stopped people bidding for him altogether although Dr Brady had assured him that this would not be the case. That it was Michael’s mutant blood that interested these dealers.

Looking round him now George wasn’t so sure that was even the case. These weren’t people who were bidding for his brother These were demons. He had seen the way some of them looked at Michael. Who knew what plans they had in mind for him. Only one thing was certain. None of them were pleasant

This thought caused Georges smile to deepen. *Maybe I could get them to tell me what they want him for. Sell him to the one who comes up with the most inventive idea. How would you like that little brother? You wouldn’t be so cocky then!! *

His confidence now fully restored George settled back to watch the fun. *That’s it Michael. Take a good look at your future owners. We’ll soon see which one of us ends up as someone’s pet.*

Michael watched his brother's momentary expression of disarray change back to his usual cruel and sardonic smile. Michael didn’t care. Georges revelations had left him cold and numb.

Even the voices of the demons rising in intensity as the auction go underway seemed to wash over him. *I suppose I should pay some attention to all this* some detached part of his mind reflected.

But it didn’t seem to matter anymore. Whatever happened he was probably going to be bought by one of these things. Then Hood would fight . Hopefully somewhere in the chaos he would get a chance to take George down before they stopped him. It was a clear and simple plan. Of course he’d die in the process. but that was OK. In fact he’d make really sure they had to kill him. Then everything would be alright. He’d finally be free of the pain.

“Nice to see one of us here is worth something…” Madison’s voice cut trough his trance like calm, hauling him back to the noise and the smells and the leering faces pressing in around them. *What about the others. Can’t take them down with me.* He knew they would fight too. But maybe they’d have a chance to get away.

Michael knew that once Hood was up and running his own body would be lying around like so much dead meat. As soon as someone figured out how his projection power worked he would be finished. But not Connor and Madison. They were fast and deadly and if someone covered their backs they might just make it. *Well I know how to do that! Nothing better than an archer for covering fire! And as for George, well he’d only take one arrow. How hard could that be?*

Suddenly he became aware of two demons standing close to the cage. Male? Female? difficult to tell but looking at him intently.

The rasping voices which reached his ears changed from the strange gutteral language they had been speaking to a harsh but recognisable form of English. It was obvious they intended him to be fully aware of what they said.

"I want this one" the slighter of the two said ,wetting its lips with a black forked tongue. "He is pretty and broken and the pain flows out of him in waves. It tastes good. I want to taste more of it."

The tone became almost pleading as its great red eyes rested upon Michael.

You can still do whatever you want to do with his blood but let me have the rest.

The hideous being savoured his helplessness as it went on

"His soul is strong. He will last a long time. Buy him for me now."

"Very well my dear. If you insist" The second demon replied "After all who says we can't mix business with........pleasure."

Feeling the fear rising within, Michael realised that he did still care what was going to happen to him. He cared very much indeed.

And as the demons smiled at him in understanding and anticipation Michael started to pray.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"I want this one" Connor had gained a rather distant look as he seemed to calmly just stare ahead at the gathered faces. "He is pretty and broken and the pain flows out of him in waves. It tastes good. I want to taste more of it." Closing his eyes, Connor listened to beats of the hearts echoing around him, getting into a furious rage wasn't going to help anyway, throwing himself at the bars wildly was just going to give them entertainment.. "You can still do whatever you want to do with his blood but let me have the rest." If he was careful, and precise, he could thrust his arm between the bars and stab the both of them, that'd teach these foul beasts what stupidity was involved in trying to capture them. "His soul is strong. He will last a long time. Buy him for me now." Is this how animals felt when humans shoved their pug faces up against the glass and studied them, picking the ones they wanted best above the others?

"Very well my dear. If you insist" Did they honestly think they would be able to survive long enough to enjoy Michael's presense? "After all who says we can't mix business with........pleasure." Exactly.. only it wouldn't be them who were the ones experiencing the pleasure of the others torment.

"You know," Connor started up in a calm, yet faintly arrogent tone, so out of place in his situation, "I'm going to enjoy this," He looked rather pleased with himself for a moment before smirking again, "I can just picture what the end will be like, waves of mutants flooding in, the demonic blood that will be spilled will soak the earth for weeks." Of course most found the comment amusing until Connor added the last few words, "When our fellow X-men come for us, it'll be total carnage for all you our there, and we get front row seats." He looked all giddy for a moment as he glanced over towards Madison and finished off with an overly mocking tone. "I hope they hurry, the wait is killing me." Now since most mutants were runaways or those no one would miss, it surprised a few to hear they were part of a team, since humans tended to fight for their comrades and the thought of an attack on their newly brought merchendise worried some instantly.

The X-men were famous and the thought of incuring their wraith was not taking lightly, they have defeated Belthazor himself, and many here new how powerful Belthazor was, even though none were aware of his presence in the auction. Belthazor's black and red skinned form was known to basically all demons, but his human form wasn't known to many, and most who have seen it have died shortly after.

"Interesting statement." A slender woman, demonic in apparence even though Madison and Connor would know instantly that she was a mutant, though her powers were so intense it would feel strangely overwhelming for the younger mutants. "Especially since you don't really think anyone will come for you." Her large blue eyes stared intently towards Connor, who was highly distracted by the stronge sense of power flowing from her, and whenever he tried to mimic it his skin and muscles and every inch of his body burned and tingled.

There had been a quiet silence in which the leather armoured woman seemed to watch Connor, and Connor seemed engulfed in her presence. He could.. security, warmth, like how he felt when his mothers arms where wrapped about him as a child and she'd hum her sweet lullabys to him after the girls had fallen asleep, always so tired since he forced himself to be the last ont to go to bed so they were never on their own.. But he was never alone, because by the time he climbed into his bed Michelle would be there, and as he grew a little older she just sat and sometimes they'd talk. She'd always tell him if he did something really good or if he did something wrong, if he was really upset and he didn't want anyone around, she'd wait until he was almost asleep before entering his room, just so he'd know she was still there to watch over him.

Since only he could feel this, when he offered a warm little smile, considering what she had last said, it would have looked very odd. The strange mutant rose her arm slowly and signalled for him to approach her as she stepped closer to the bars that kept them seperated.

"Do you want to be free?" Amlarie's silky voice asked gently, almost motherly, such understanding in her tone, in her body language, her very eyes seeming to be filled with the understanding of all that was wrong. Connor looked over towards Madison, he felt so tired now, there was soo many thoughts, too many feelings, he didn't like this strange sensation, has to lock them all away before he get's hurt again. But arms wrapped about the young Wolverine, his back pulled firmly against the front of someone else's body, a loud snarl, so animalistic it surprised even Connor as he reacted to the unwelcomed embrace as Cole shimmered into the cell and grabbed hold of the feral. As instantly as Cole appeared, he disappeared, but this time with Connor in tow, so when Connor struggled free of the man's arms as Cole let go of him it took a moment to realize he was no longer in the cell.

"Madison!!" The fact Connor would rather be back in the cell with his sister then out here was a surprise for Amlarie, her family hardly cared to such a degree for each other, then again, these two were both mutants, perhaps that is why their bond is so strong. Connor felt so helpless now, at least when he was inside the cage he was sharing the sense of captivity with her, now he was outside and she was all alone in there.

"It'll be alright Connor," It didn't seem Connor shared that opinion since he looked highly distraught as he grabbed at the bars. "You'll see her again soon enough." He will? He felt so at ease with that thought, he didn't like it! He didn't want to see her later, he didn't want to leave her like this, and right now he hardly realized he had no choice in the matter. There was a fatigued and helpless feeling washing over him, he couldn't get Madison out of there, what was the point of trying? He tried so hard his entire life to stop his sisters fighting and they never stopped, how could he have any hope of freeing her from this cell?

He allowed two other men to gently pull him away from the bars, Amlarie looked over towards Michael, there was that same urge for her to obtain him as well, but she had spent so great an amount on Connor's freedom, she did not want to put too great a dent in her monthly account. Madison simply got a rather sour look from the blue streaked mutant, Amlarie's powers where too unbalanced and focused too greatly on her entire genetic structure, the shape of her body, the skin mutations of her physical form, it was all to help focus her abilities, any mutants that trying to absorb her powers would fail since their bodies would have to be a complete and exact duplicate of her own in all ways, right down to her pores which realize the unseen toxins that help effect the mind as well as all her other mutant talents that she keeps closely guarded and a complete secret to those around her, being as discreet as possible when using them.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
With boredom sinking in fast, Madison was slightly thankful when she heard the two demons talk to one another nearby their cage. She turned her head towards them and watched as one asked for Michael. It’s partner, friend or whatever they were to each other, soon agreed to buy him.

"You know, I'm going to enjoy this,” Madison now turned her gaze a little to the side to look over to her brother, glad that he was keeping as his normal self and that he had the arrogant tone that they both seemed to use so easily in whatever situation they might find themselves in.

"I can just picture what the end will be like, waves of mutants flooding in, the demonic blood that will be spilled will soak the earth for weeks." As he spoke, Madison’s mind pictured it all. It was just like one big story, which, in Madison’s mind, beat any of those fairytales young children dream about.

"When our fellow X-men come for us, it'll be total carnage for all you our there, and we get front row seats. I hope they hurry, the wait is killing me." Madison smirked. And now she felt like pop corn. Pity. They were going to see the best show in town and they had no pop corn!

"Interesting statement." Again, Madison shifted her gaze, now towards who she thought was a demon at first, but the power being emitted from her clearly said that she was mutant.

"Especially since you don't really think anyone will come for you." Her words went unnoticed by Madison who, like Connor, was trying to copy her powers. Normally she absorbed them right away without even having to think, but for some reason it wouldn’t work. Nothing was too wrong about that, at times Madison would have to force herself to absorb powers but forcing wasn’t doing any good either. Well… unless the demonic-looking mutant’s power was to have her body riddled with pain, which Madison didn’t believe. Her eyes narrowed slightly at Amlarie, might in frustration at not being able to absorb her power than of anything else.

The mutant on the outside seemed to stare at Connor, making the younger Enright follow her gaze and look back to her brother. He wasn’t giving her the look he gave everyone else who stood outside the cage. What was going on? She looked back to Amlarie in time to see her gesturing him to come closer to her.

"Do you want to be free?" Before Madison could even question that in her mind, Cole had already had Connor in his arms. By the time Madison had noticed, both Connor and the demon had vanished, only to appear on the outside of the cage.

"Madison!!" She just stared back at her brother, at the realisation that he had just been sold to the older girl with blue streaked hair before she quickly looked in the opposite direction to make sure Michael was still in the cage. Seeing him there she felt a little relieved. She didn’t know what was going to happen next, so she didn’t want to be alone in the cage. Though she probably didn’t want him there for support, more for him going through what she was and suffering in the same way.

"It'll be alright Connor, You’ll see her again soon enough." Since she barely trusted someone from first seeing them, she was not going to believe that this mutant was as nice as she was letting off. To Madison she was just as bad as all the demons in the room. But really, how could you trust someone who lurks around demonic auctions?

As Connor began to get dragged away from the cage, Madison quickly got to her feet and rushed over to where Connor was. She knew it wasn’t going to change anything, but it was just a reaction. Her hands clenched onto the bars, which felt warm still as she was holding on to the same spots as her brother was. Her dark eyes narrowed once again, as she looked at Amlarie who now had her blue eyes on Michael. She had better not begin placing bids on him. Then Madison’s dark eyes met with Amlarie’s, but she simply smirked at the look from the mutant on the outside of the cage. It was obvious that she wasn’t going to have bids placed on her by her. The thought of that being a bad thing hadn’t occurred to her, it meant that if the X-Men didn’t show up soon, the two siblings would be split up from one another.

"Yeah, that look really scares me," Madison said sarcastically out-of-the-blue. "I get worse looks from dogs in the street," She wasn’t sure why she said it, but she did. Maybe if she kept talking Amlarie would linger and it would turn into one of the yelling contests she has with Arisa, then Connor would re-gain his strength, realise that he had to do something and do it! But that was only a maybe…

"How about you withdraw your final bid and start spending your money on something like 'Lessons in Evil Mastery'?" Like that was going to work. Even Madison knew that, but she was able to either anger or extremely annoy someone with her words. If either one worked on Amlarie then Madison would be happy.

"I mean, look at Michael over here..." She started bringing his situation into it. Ignoring the fact that Michael probably wouldn't have been comfortable at all with it. "... And his brother over there..." She now pointed over to George. "He's got the evil thing going for him. Don't get me wrong, I've seen more evil in a sale at the mall between two girls over the last pair of leather boots, but he's off to a good start. Just look at where he's got his younger brother?" That probably would have only made George get more self esteem or something from that, though comparing him to girls at a shopping centre might have lowered it a little and she wasn't going to win Michael over as a friend with it but she didn't care. If she kept talking a plan would pop into her head sooner or later, or into Connor or Michael's or maybe even the X-Men would show up.

Okay, so she probably wasn't doing the right thing. But she didn't know Amlarie, only from what she had seen in her which wasn't much to go with. It was bad enough with Madison instantly hating everyone she meets, let alone the other mutant placing bids and buying her brother. So Madison had all rights to be against Amlarie and doing what she thinks is right in a poor attempt to make things better.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"You know, I'm going to enjoy this," Connors voice was light, almost playful. It cut through the sinister whisperings of the two demons like a knife, helping Michael pull back from the brink of despair.

"I can just picture what the end will be like, waves of mutants flooding in, the demonic blood that will be spilled will soak the earth for weeks." *He is kidding isn’t he?* But it didn’t sound like it

Strange, Michael had been praying for some sort of intervention, was indeed ready to fight for his freedom when the time came, but he had not envisaged the apocalyptic confrontation Connor was describing. *What did I expect? Did I think they would just stand by and watch us walk out of here. George is right. I'm so damn naive.*

"When our fellow X-men come for us, it'll be total carnage for all you our there, and we get front row seats. I hope they hurry, the wait is killing me." *X men ? What’s that some sort of mutant club?*

It seemed the crowd had heard of them for a faint movement of unease passed through the assembled mass as Connor’s words sank in. *Whatever they are they seem to be a force to be reckoned with* Michael thought to himself. *Just glad they’re on our side for a change.*

"Interesting statement." Another voice. Feminine this time and equally cool and assured.

Michael swung round to see who had spoken, instantly wishing he hadn’t as the pain bit deeper.

Still it was almost worth the effort just to look at this strange woman who stood gazing up at Connor with intense blue eyes. *Never thought demons could be beautiful but she is. And her voice is comforting ! How weird is that?*

"Especially since you don't really think anyone will come for you." Was that true? Was it all just for show, a fine act of bravado with no real hope of rescue at the end? No great fine battle such as Connor had described? No reinforcements ready to ride in and save the day? The idea should have appalled Michael but instead he felt such a sense of well being flowing from the blue skinned figure that it all seemed somehow irrelevant. She was here now and everything would miraculously be all right.

Far away in the depths of his consciousness alarm bells started ringing. *Wrong! There’s something very wrong with this feeling Concentrate Michael. Look away if you can.*

With a supreme effort of will he dragged his eyes away from the woman focusing instead on Madison who was looking on the scene with something bordering contempt. *Whatever spell this demon is working doesn’t seem to affect her. I wonder why?*

Connor on the other hand appeared to be completely enthralled the tension flowing out of his body as he gazed at her. *He’s too close to break free. No one could if she looked at them like that. I want her to look at me like that* Michael thought feeling the enchantment catch at him again.

"Do you want to be free?" *Yes!* his mind screamed, his body moving almost inevitably towards her. This time the pain came almost as a friend, breaking the subtle spell, clearing his mind as he saw Connor being removed from the cage by the man he had seen at the airport. *She’s with them, with the ones who did this to us. How could I have ever thought she was a friend?*

"Madison!!" Connors anguished cry rang out yet he made no move to escape his captors. All of the fight had died out of his eyes. He looked unsure and lost and infinitely weary.

"It'll be alright Connor, You’ll see her again soon enough." The same soothing tones as before, reassuring Connor that everything would be all right. But how could it be all right if he was separated from his sister? "Come on Connor fight it" he started to call out but the words died in his throat as the blue eyes of the demon turned towards him and he felt her full power for the first time.

Goodness flowed from her. Peace and comfort and safety were all there for the taking offered without reserve and without price. *I want this. I want what she is offering. Please let her take me with her. Let her love me as she loves him.*

"Yeah, that look really scares me. I get worse looks from dogs in the street," How dare anyone speak to her like that. She deserves respect, love reverence… Michaels gaze left Amlaries face as he sought out the one who had dared to insult her in this fashion. *Madison? Why am I angry at Madison? What was going on?*

"How about you withdraw your final bid and start spending your money on something like 'Lessons in Evil Mastery'?"

* Bid?* Michael was still confused but now that the demons attention had been diverted he felt his mind clearing fast. *She has bought Connor! She’s bewitched him into wanting to go with her and I almost packed his suitcase and wished him Bon Voyage. How wrong is that, Thank God Madisons immune. That’s right Madi keep talking. We need time to think.*

"I mean, look at Michael over here..." *No! Bad move Don’t get her attention focused on me I don’’t know if I can resist her. Don’t look at her keep your eyes focused on the floor. * "... And his brother over there..."

*Yeah, let George take some of the heat or a change. Maybe she’ll decide to use him as a foot stool That would save us all a lot of bother.*

"He's got the evil thing going for him. Don't get me wrong, I've seen more evil in a sale at the mall between two girls over the last pair of leather boots, but he's off to a good start. Just look at where he's got his younger brother."

*Ouch! That’s a sharp tongue you have there Madison Wouldn’t like to be around if you really started in on me with it. But its all to the good No one could blame me getting a little mad with you over that last remark.*

*Oh God this is going to hurt so much! Don’t think about it just do it! Before Connor disappears for good.*

Taking a deep breath he hauled himself upright using the bars for support. The world swam sickeningly for a moment before settling down into a red pain ridden blur. He pushed himself towards Madison catching against her as his leg buckled agonisingly under him. His voice seemed to belong to someone else. It couldn’t be him talking. He was curled up in a screaming ball somewhere waiting for the pain to stop.

"You really are a pathetic bitch! Someone should shut that mouth of yours up once and for all."

He saw the anger flare in her eyes, prayed that surprise would stay her hand for the few seconds he needed to explain. As he fell against her, unable to stand unaided, he whispered almost inaudibly, trusting to her acute senses to pick up on his words

"Hit me Madi. Make it look good, but for the love of god don’t knock me out. Hood's going after Connor."

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
With her eyes still narrowed, she turned her gaze away from Amlarie and looked over Michael who was getting himself up. Her dark chocolate eyes watching as the astral projection mutant made his way painfully towards her. She saw him lose his balance for a moment as his leg buckled, but it was what he spoke of next that caught her by surprise.

"You really are a pathetic bitch! Someone should shut that mouth of yours up once and for all." Her jaw dropped a little in shock. Michael hadn’t seemed like the kind of guy who would say that. He seemed nice. Nice like a lot of the people Madison hates. Though that niceness wasn’t anywhere close by in this black market of demonic affairs.

It wasn’t long until Michael fell against her but Madison didn’t want to be his support stool. If he said what he had, he could just fall to the ground and stay there. However, before Madison could turn and leave for the opposite direction of the cage to conjure up a plan, she caught Michael’s whispers.

"Hit me Madi. Make it look good, but for the love of god don’t knock me out. Hood's going after Connor." So Michael had a plan? Well, it would be wrong of her to not go along with his wishes, even if it did mean that she had to hit him. He had asked for it, who was she to not do it?

Madison couldn’t help but wonder if Michael had really meant what he had said, or if he was just saying that to get her angry enough so she wouldn’t hesitate to hit him. Maybe it was a little of both. Wouldn’t have been the first time it happened. The Wolverette had angered more than her fair share of other people, some who had taken a strong hate back towards her not willing to hold back and bite their tongue whenever she said something that had gotten under their skin. Then there were those who just chose to ignore her and then there were some who even got hurt by what Madison had said or did to them. But all of them would have used a situation like this to say what they really had wanted to say, whether it was for a plan or not.

"Whatever you say," She whispered back, trying her hardest to not let her lips move too much. Madison didn’t want the demons around to notice that a plan was brewing.

"Pathetic bitch, hey? I'd like to see you try and shut me up!" It may have looked as if Madison was slow to reply, but not too much time had passed since he had said it. If anything, she was probably a few seconds too late than the normal comeback she would have snapped back with. But it didn’t concern Madison now, she had to do her part in the plan for them to get Connor back before it was too late.

Her right fist clenched instantly after she had finished speaking. Her eyes narrowed on Michael as she reminded herself that she wasn’t supposed to make her hit too hard, just make it look like it was. Her arm drew back slowly and then quickly swung forwards which probably would have turned into quite a powerful punch if she had of kept with it. Instead, with her fist only millimetres away from Michael’s face, she slowed it down and laid her hit. Though, she probably slowed it down a little too late, so it would have hurt him but not as much as her best hit would have.

Now it was up to Michael to work his stuff with Hood.

Looking down at Michael, Madison raised her head with her eyes still narrowed as she looked upon all the demonic figures outside of the cage. "There, a little show for free…" She said letting anger string into her words before she moved to the other side of the cage, sliding down the bars as she learned on them until she was sitting down. For now, all she could do was watch and hope that Hood could bring Connor back.

Re: The Black Market Auction - Official Mutant Trade
"Yeah, that look really scares me," Amlarie was watching Madison with a look of only mild interest, her thoughts more focused on Connor then his sister. "I get worse looks from dogs in the street," Connor was watching Amlarie with such distance in his gaze, he might as well have been alone in a room with her for all he seemed to register.

"How about you withdraw your final bid and start spending your money on something like 'Lessons in Evil Mastery'?" Cole Turner smirked happily, Amlarie tilted her head at the statement and Connor continued to be in his own little world. You had to admit, Amlarie was pretty in her own sense, fair enough she wasn't anywhere near 'normal', but she had a perfect body, and when she smiled her face seemed far more attractive, not to mention the tone of her voice that held such great mysterious and silky tenderness.

"I mean, look at Michael over here..." This girl was interesting, she could understand why Gwen had wanted her brother over this one though, obviously she was in too good control of her emotions to allowed Amlarie to fiddle around with them effectively enough. "... And his brother over there..." Amlarie looked towards the human. Humans. Honestly, why did she want to see a human, filthy little brats they were, fearing and hating those who were different.. things they didn't understand.

"He's got the evil thing going for him. Don't get me wrong, I've seen more evil in a sale at the mall between two girls over the last pair of leather boots, but he's off to a good start. Just look at where he's got his younger brother?" The two men holding onto Connor were watching also with interest, Connor looked confused, staring between the ground and over towards Amlarie as if waiting for her to do something. Why wasn't she speaking to him any more? He wished Madison would stop hogging all of the blue-eyed woman’s attention. Damn his sister, always taking other people's attention away from Connor, starting up fights if he's spending too much time with Arisa, getting upset if he focuses on someone else, why can't he just have this woman’s attention for a little while without Madison opening her big mother.

Connor didn't even noticed Michael's movements, the male feral more intensely focusing on trying to mentally get that woman's attention by looking her at her rather pleadingly with his deep blue eyes.

"You really are a pathetic bitch! Someone should shut that mouth of yours up once and for all."

Now that got Connor's attention, the sheer aggression that exploded inside him overwhelmed all sense of security as his burst in his rage, as usual however first he simply glare with repulsed anger that Michael was so near Madison, he wanted to scream for the boy to let go of her, get away from his sister!!

Amlarie meanwhile simply stared with what seemed keen interest, eventually taking a step back and allowing her body to completely face Madi and Michael as if she found this all very interesting. Connor had started violently struggling, the men having great difficulty in continuing to contain the furious feral, Amlarie looked over towards Connor and smile before focusing on Madison once again.

"Pathetic bitch, hey? I'd like to see you try and shut me up!" Amlarie's hand reached out and the tips of her fingers touched Connor's cheek, resulting in Connor calmly watching as Madison moved over towards the other side of the cell and sitting down.

"See Connor, she doesn't need you to fight for her.." There was such a calm caring tenderness about her, Connor's eyes moved away from Madison to stare ahead at the mutant before him. "..You can't protect everyone all the time." Barely registering what she was saying, only hearing the tone of voice, so enlightening and warm, her touch so sweet and caring, motherly in every sense, the desire of family and the sense of bond and eternal trust filling Connor, caressing his soul and forcing all struggle to seep from him instantly.

"If you want me.. come and find me." The loving whisper was clearly spoken for all to hear, Cole frowned slightly while the mysterious mutant leaped forward and pressed her chemically soaked lips against the enchanted feral who looked mesmerized as her lips stroked against his. But then Cole looked impressed as Amlarie walked off and Connor watched almost desperately, tugging against the two still holding him. He wanted to follow her, Madison didn't need him, no one needed him, only this woman needed him, she needed him and he had to find her, he had to protect her and do as she says. She'll protect him as well she'd defend him, for once someone will fight for him, someone will stop him from hurting himself.. someone will help save him from the loneliness he has allowed consume him.

Suddenly the two men let Connor go, his struggling form stumbling forward and his hands grabbing onto the bars again, there was still a strong sense of urgency about him as his eyes looked ahead at Madison. His sense of urgency faded into a hurt expression as he stared at her, his voice soft and confused.

"You don't need me?" Everything was so confusing, he was being torn apart, he was kissed, did Madison that? Someone kissed him.. well Lara kissed him, Lara wanted so much more then a kiss from him though, Amlarie didn't want more then that, she just wanted him for who he was, he could feel it, she was calling to him, she was out there waiting for him. "Would you respect me even if I wasn't your brother? Are you only tolerating me because I'm related to you?" A large part wanted to stay with her, he wanted to stay with Madison, and she’s always been near enough for him to talk with. But now he felt as if he was being pulled away from her, and the frightening thing was that he wanted to leave.

Fear. It engulfed him, he's never been so scared before, she was leaving, she was waiting for him to follow and he was here, with Madison, with a girl who didn't even need him! Looking panicked as he hurriedly rushed to his feet and run off to where she had disappeared, following her scent, the feral not bothering to use the stairs off the stage and just leaping effortlessly off to the ground and shoving his way through the demons who seemed thoroughly confused with his actions. She was near, he knew that, she wouldn't leave with out him, she loved him, she cared about him, he knew that, like a mother that loves a son, she wouldn't abandon him like all the others have.

The first step to forgiveness is telling the truth.
