'What did he mean? Catherine? What did he mean emotional and dillusional, I don't want that to happen, can't you stop it from happening? I....' She looked across at him for a moment and shook her head slowly, there was nothing she could do. She wished that there was some way she could just push a button and stop all his pain, she didn't like seeing him here like this.
'Sorry Riley, there's nothing I can do.' She'd done all she could, she'd taken his top off and opened the window and the heating had been turned off. 'Maybe beast can help you, hes the doctor at Xavier's.' The last sentance was an after thought as she realised he wouldn't understand who she was talking about.
She watched him pull his head into his knees, she couldn't help but feel sorry for him, trying to think how scared and confused she'd be if she'd had to go through the same thing he had.
"We'll be back in the school in just over ten minutes guys." She sighed a sigh of relife and her eyes flicked over to Rogue's form back at the steering wheel where it belonged. She glad that she didn't have to drive anymore, it wasn't that she minded driving but she didn't like it when she had to drive when under gun fire. She let her head flop backwards onto the seat behind her, she needed peace and quiet, her head was still hurting her and she raised one hand to press lightly against her temple before she looked away out of the window, her gaze wandering back to Rogue.
'Thanks Rogue ... for everything.' She said running her fingers over the fabric of the seat belt and letting her eyes drift down towards the form of the still unconcious Nick. Spike must have hit him really hard since he was still out. She lifted a hand to her own tender cheek, realsing she was probably going to have a bruise in the morning. But she was more concerned about the pain radiating from her hip, high speed chases and turning and twisting in the jeep hadn't done much for which ever muscle she'd pulled when she'd kicked Joan.
'It's not doing a very good job of numbing my pain.'
'Just imagine what it would be like without it.' She said quietly her eyes drifting back over to Riley. She felt really drained now but she was looking forwards to seeing Dawn, Lisa and Angela again, she hoped Lisa hadn't been hurt too much by Jon. Then she wondered what the three would make to what had happened to poor Riley, Dawn was already so upset about him going away and now to loose him all over again.

What kind of name was 'Beast' for a doctor? And he really wasn't very pleased with the idea of how painful it'd be if he didn't have the chip if this result of pain was actually being numbed by the chip. Lifting his head slightly, Riley's eyes watched Catherine as her hand lifted to her cheek, he knew she was hurt, here he was whinning about his pain and he didn't even think about her.
He'd make all this up to her, the instant he was all better he'd stop at nothing to make sure she was taken care of, he'd make sure she was fully aware how grateful he was for all this she's done. Catherine's hand rested lightly over her forehead, she was obviously not feeling very well, he glanced down at the tags around his neck, his fingers raising to fiddle with them. They sat on the back of his hand which was just faintly trembling, it was strange, because one tag had his name and the other had Catherine's. He felt better for some reason to know that he had something of hers so close to him, it was like she really would never leave him because he'd always have this. He let it drop over his heart once again as he closed his eyes nd let his head rest against the seat, he was so tired he didn't care if he fell asleep before they arrived to the school.
Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..
every single time she looks at me.. she's trying to speak to me.. and I can't hear her.

The wind blowing against her face, her hair fluttering like mad behind her, the speed, watching everything around her rush past in less than a second, nothing beat a good bike ride! Then again, Tasha did love the thrill of battle, but for now she was enjoying the use of the other Slayers motor bike and the challenge of keeping up with the jeep.
"Can we borrow your bike? Tasha looked towards the door of the car where Spike was sitting. He wanted the bike? What would he want with the bike in daylight? As Rogue called back to Spike, Tasha moved the bike closer to the vampire as he requested.
"Just goin' to get something I lost, be right back blue, take care!" As Spike jumped onto the bike Tasha slowed the bike down again. Although it wasn’t by too much, the speed it was going seemed rather slow compared to what it was before. That had to be the worst thing after hopping off the bike, everything was so still, even if there were record gusts of winds blowing through the air. The stillness felt… like nothing. Luckily that feeling didn’t really last long, if you put your mind on something else.
Tasha: "And where are we heading to?"
She hoped he’d answer fast, the early afternoon sun could be damaging, especially for a vampire. Then, thinking over what Spike had said to the mutant Slayer previously. Just goin' to get something I lost. what had he lost? … Then something came to her mind, was he going to get his soul back? If he wanted to Tasha wasn’t going to object. She smirked faintly, the Initiative hadn’t caused too much damage to the vampire, well that she had seen anyway.

Tucking his head low against the back of her shoulders as he thought over her question, his arms looping around her waist to keep himself from falling off the bike. He was tembling from the pain of the sunlight, he didn't know where to go.. the air port? What if he burst into dust in mid flight.. wait.. lack of bursting into dust happening wasn't there? Alright.. well.. what about Loki? Where the hell was that bloody Angel, Spike let out a painful growl before he spoke.
"How 'bout...... we needa get to the church." He decided mid-sentance, showing just how confused he was on hwat to do, he just knew he wanted to do it. He wanted to find an Angel, then he'd sit tight in the church till nightfall and go Angel Hunting. He gritten his teeth as his eyes remained shut tightly, his face shifting position to bury itself in her back to stop the brightness of the day from hurting his sensitive eyes that had began to water slightly. He hadn't asked her if she wanted to take him, but.. but he didn't think that far ahead.. it wasn't until then when he had began to think about how she felt taking him to a church that he panicked over how she felt having a vampire holding her like this. He stopped brething completely, would she be mad at him when they get to the church? She'd probably eave him there, and thn he'd have to be careful, what if the intiative where still after him? There was a reason they captured him and removed his implant.. something he'd have to inform her of.. if she didn't run off too quickly..
What if this would be the closest he ever got to this Slayer? He was already amazed she hadn't catapolted him off the bike and Jen would have said at least a half a dozen nasty comments or sarcastic complaints by now.. But she hadn't told him to get away when she was talking with him in front of her room.. didn't invite him in either, but he hadn't expected her to, he was a vampire, she wa a Slayer, why would she want something dead in her room where she was safe?
It really was hard for him.. he's been thinking of this Slayer non-stop since he first met her and he's been arguing with any demon who's bad mouthed her and she'd never know. now he was actually holding her, even if it was to keep him balanced on the bike.. he was still holding her and it was the closest he's been to someone for so long aside from Rogue. And having someone tell you they couldn't ever fall in love with you does tend to put a strain on anything really truly forming in the relationship..
But he hadn't really been in love with the mutant either, had he? Even when he was with her, listening to her telling him about her day.. he'd wonder what Tasha was doing, if she was anything like Jennifer or if she was stronger or if she was smarter.. But how do you ask someone questions like that without appearing too interested in the person, he really was curious.. who was stronger? Jen or Tasha? He hoped it was Tasha.. so far she hasn't tried to knock him out just because he's in the wrong place at the wrong time, but then again, they haven't really been put in a situation for him to know how she'll react.
"..Sorry." What was he apologising for? ..Everything he guessed, for holding her, for forcing her to drive him to the church, for taking her time without asking her first, for being a vampire, for not being human, for not having a soul, for not having a chip, for not.. for not being better then he was.

There was no need for her to ask why, as she turned the bike around the corner taking a short cut towards the direction of the church. She didn’t like it when people asked her questions and snooped into why things had to be done, why people had to be in places at certain times, so she gave the same respect that she wanted towards others, well excluding those who she didn’t think worthy of it.
Taking her eyes off the road for a moment, her head lowered and looked down at the arms around her. She had expected Spike to do that, after all it wouldn’t be easy to balance on his own, vampire or not, not to mention the sun was shining brightly above everyone in Harmony. But she hadn’t noticed that they were there until just then, she had felt his head in her back. It didn’t seem to bother the Slayer, how else was Spike to survive something like this?
"..Sorry." What was the vampire apologising to her for? He hadn’t done anything wrong that Tasha had noticed. She didn’t really mind doing this for him, what else was she going to do? Follow the jeep back to the Institute and help all of Rogue’s friends? The only reason she had changed her mind from not wanting to help to helping was because of Spike. Tasha just didn’t believe that letting the Initiative harm a vampire that was willing to go through the trouble of getting a soul was right… she kept thinking that, but she couldn't help think that that was just some excuse…
Tasha: "Don’t be. There’s nothing to be sorry for."
She was still wondering what there was for Spike to be sorry about, but allowed herself to stop and pay attention to the road. A slight traffic jam was holding up the road in front, cars were bulked up close together. So she had two choices… One; she could wait until all the cars started moving again, but with the police directing the traffic with the lights broken it could take ages. Two; she could take a little detour, well it’s not as if many people were on the footpath anyway…
Giving a quick turn of the other Slayer’s bike, she drove straight onto the path, a couple of people stepping out of a building but when they saw the bike coming towards them they rushed straight back inside, making Tasha let out a little laugh. The police man didn’t look too happy with what was going on, but he was too busy directing traffic to chase after the vampire and Slayer.
With the turn of another corner Tasha put the bike back onto the now clear road, it was only a short drive from this point until they reached the old Harmony Church. It had been quite a while since she was last there, then again not too much trouble had been down that way for a while.
