Good-bye cruel world
Jon leaned against the wall of Riley's room, looking around him with interest, waiting to be addressed by one of the others as to the precise details of the plan ... he'd never thought it would be so easy to get in here, they'd just walked in, mutants had just been lowered in his expectations. He looked at each of the others in turn, his gaze lingering on Joan, on her neat blonde hair and handsom features.
Riley seemed to leave just as little sign of his presence here as he did in their room back at the initiative, a photo, a laptop, a box of tissues and that was about it, it could have been a spare room that wasn't used. He looked at the photo, wanting to meet the owner of the picture, he was interested to see how a farmer boy could get into an elitist group such as the initiative. He lifted a hand and pushed his brown hair from his eyes, a second later it flopped back into them again, obscuring his sight.
Jon glanced over at Joan, giving her a large smile ... he hoped Riley would get back soon, he was beginning to get bored here with nothing to do but stand her and lean against the wall
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
The vampire had to close his eyes as he stepped into the brighter room, for a moment he hesitated, his arms tensing slightly more as he waited for his sensitive sight to ajust.
But as he blinked, the scent of others in the room suddenly coming to his attention as he stared at the girl before him, then over towards the boys.
..He knew who they where, they didn't need to introduce themselves, they where here for Riley, they where from the Initiative.
Joan:"Hostile 17....you'd be the other one I assume."
Spike:"Spike...William Spike, Spike...I'm Spike."
He mumbled as he looked about nervously at her, she took a step forward, her eyes looking over him, but he took a step back and looked away. He was still a wreck from the other world, though everything seemed much clearer to him now and he understood what was happening around him.
Spike:"Go away, away, go away.."
He glared at them, then pointed to the door as best as he could do with Cat in his arms, his voice stern and almost threatening.
Spike:"Get out! Leave!"
He moved back to the girl, her eyes looking over his muscular chest and arms as he approached her, a faint smile over her lips as he tried to threaten her.
Joan:"I'm afraid we're here for Riley, better not interfer otherwise we'll have you tag along with us."
He looked down at Catherine then shook his head.
Spike:"Dont' take him.."
Joan's eyes stared at the girl in his arms, obviously bitten by a vampire...she would have assumed it to be him had she not already know that he couldn't bite people.
Spike:"Leave, leave le-leave..."
He shook his head again as he closed his eyes and stepped away from her, why was he allone with these soldiers, sure they looked like kids...but they could hurt him if they wanted to.
Spike:"Riley! Riley! Rogue!"
He held her closer to him protectivly as if sheilding her from these strangers.
Re: Good-bye cruel worldJoan:"I'm afraid we're here for Riley, better not interfer otherwise we'll have you tag along with us."
"And ah'm afraid ya gonna get some probs if you're tryin' to tag anyone here along with ya!"
Rogue said - more growled - gruffy parodying the agent's words.
She knew those people. Initiative bloodhounds - arrogant, merciless but well-dressed.
"Do anythin' while ah'm away and you'll regret it... oh, and yes, that's been a threat"
"Be careful" she mouthed at Riley and Spike shortly turning her back at the agents and a moment later, she had left with the two unconscious youngsters heading for the MedLab.
In her opinion, she had been there too often lately.

Re: Good-bye cruel world
He had been leaning against the wall, his eyes trained down upon the floor of Riley's room, his foot taping impatiently, he wasn't good at waiting. Jon's eyes shot upwards as a static watery gateway opened in the room, watching it with large wary eyes. Someone stepped through it, they were carrying a another person, a girl, her head was resting against their shoulder, a second after they stepped forwards he saw a mane of golden brown hair which fell from the arms that supported her, his blood seemed to freeze in his veins.
'Catherine!! Cat ...' He stepped towards her glancing up at the (what appeared to be) man, his eyes angry, the look changing to concern intermingled with substantial amounts of fear as he caught sight of the blood trickling down her neck.
'Wh ... What have you done to her!' He looked accusingly at the (man) in front of him. 'Give her to me.' To his superised the man vamped out, seemed to freak and leapt backwards, hugging the girl to him.
'Give her to me.' He commanded again, stepped forwards threateningly this time, holding out his arms, signing that he wanted Spike to hand her over to him. His face worried, his heart full of fear for her, she didn't look conscious.

Re: Good-bye cruel world
The vampire's eyes watched helplessly as Rogue left him alone in the room, should he follow her? She didn't tell him to follow her..
Riley had appeared shortly after Rogue entered the vortex, his eyes staring at Joan with a lookd that borderd disappointment and anger.
'Catherine!! Cat ...'
One of the boys stepped towards Spike, but all he could do was stare at the agent, the sound of fear easily heard in his voice.
'Wh ... What have you done to her!'
Shaking his head slightly as the boy stood before him, almost accusing the creature of doing this terrible crime to the girl.
'Give her to me.'
His voice was demanding, he moved towards the vampire, but words started echoing inside his mind...protect her...protect her...
With a growl Spike's face vamped out, leaping back out of his reach and on to the nearby bed.
'Give her to me.'
The only reply the worried boy got was a loud snarl and the flashing of Spike's fangs, the insane creatures yellow eyes glaring at the boy dangerously.
Riley:"Get him to back off Joan."
Riley warned angrily, then threw a look over towards Spike.
Riley:"Get her to the Med Bay, now!"
Crouching down slightly, Spike then leapt over Jon, holding Catherine's head carefully as well as the rest of her body so she couldn't get hurt. He landed in front of the door and hurried out, glaring back at them and growling before he disappeared.
Riley:"I won't let you hurt anyone else, you're here for me, leave the rest alone, I'm warning you Joan.."
Joan:"Oh come now Riley, you are as helpless attacking me as Hostile 17 is attacking a human, Jon however...has free choice to do as he pleases."
She reached out and looped her arm threw his, tugging him along out into the hall, Riley weakly resisted but wasn't much use compared to her strength and health. He looked over at Jon who had yelled at Catherine, how did he know her? How did Cat know an Agent of the Initiative?
Joan:"Now let's go, you're all sick and shivering, the sooner we get you home, the sooner you can get all better again."
Riley:"Can't I see if Catherine is alright? Please Joan, she was hurt really badly...just let me see her before we leave?"
With a gentle sigh Joan rested her head against his shoulder.
Joan:"I'm afraid we can't be late...you ready?"
She looked back at Jon curiously as she continued to hold onto Riley.
Re: Good-bye cruel worldGet him to back off Joan. Jon frowned, as he heard the young man's commanding voice from behind him, the only thing that would get him to back off would be a large mallet to the face. He glanced over his shoulder, his eyes meeting those of Riley, the guy looked distinctly worse for wear ... were his hand's shaking.
He looked shocked as the vampire leapt over his head ... gee but that guy had reflexes. His eyes following Cat from the room, snapping back to the young male agent the next moment.
'Can't I see if Catherine is alright? Please Joan, she was hurt really badly...just let me see her before we leave?' There was something in his voice that made Jon frown, he watched with jealousy as Joan took hold of Riley's arm he wasn't sure he liked Finn. However he agreed with one thing ... that he wanted to say bye Cat, he knew he'd probably never see her again.
'We can call in on the med bay on our way.' He said in a voice that left little or no room for argument, folding his arms as he stood, looking down at Joan ... she was out numbered, it would be interesting to see how she reacted to this.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Good-bye cruel world
Giving the boys a curious look, she flashed Jon a faint smile.
Joan:"You want to walk into a medical room full of X-Men with a fugitive who is under their protection?"
A puzzled look come over Riley's face as he stared at Joan.
Riley:"Fugitive?"
He seemed suprised, but Joan ignored his shocked face and simply smiled at him, her hand gently patting his shoulder.
Joan:"Jon, we'll be back for Hostile 17 in due time, you can see your lady friend then."
Riley:"What? No! Leave them alone."
Joan:"Quickly, before anyone else wonders in threw that portal."
Riley glared back at Jon with distrust, unaware as Joan pulled out a small needle and secretly pricked it into his arm, Riley's eyes looked down at where the prick was felt.
Riley:"What was-"
Joan:"Just to help you relax, I knew you didn't take your meds, so this'll help."
She let go of him, and Riley simply stood there, she flashed a smile and held out her hand for him to take.
Joan:"Now, take my hand, and let's go for a walk."
Her tone was playful, and she grinned like a spoiled child as Riley - without thinking - reached for her hand and took it.
Joan:"We'll see this Catherine of yours later, first we get him back safely."
She looked back at Jon and waited for him to follow her and Riley out of the room.
Joan:"If you want we can swing by the med lab, have that X-Men knock us out, and then we can stay in their holding cells and maybe Catherine will visit you there."
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: Good-bye cruel world
He stood confused, half of him wanting to disobey her and insist that they go and see Cat the other half knowing that it would be mad to, hadn't that woman who just left with the two kids said she was gonna come back. He glanced over at the door, as if he wished to leave then stared down at the floor a little of the inner struggle he was experiencing showing on his face … how could he abandon Cat, how could he face Bekki after this, but then he wouldn’t have to would he. Perhaps he had been wrong splitting up with her after all, but it was far too late for that now, he somehow didn’t think she would be welcoming him back with opened arms and a cheery smile.
‘Jon, we'll be back for Hostile 17 in due time, you can see your lady friend then.’ He glanced at her sharply … they were coming back? Maybe he would have a chance to talk to her, find out what she was doing here, she couldn’t be a mutant , not Cat, she hated them, despised them … there would be no chance she would be there apart from if she was being held against her will. He looked into the portal quickly and glanced back in time to see Joan inject something into Riley, the man hardly seemed to notice.
'Just to help you relax, I knew you didn't take your meds, so this'll help.' Meds? ... could taking them do that to you Jon wondered. He got the distinct idea that she was lying when Riley suddenly seemed to be completely non plussed about going to the medical room, he watched with more than a little jealousy as Riley reached over and took her hand. Looking away directly as he caught sight of her grinning, realising she was playing him along but at the same time denying it.
'Alright Joan.' He said not looking at her hand in Rileys, realising that all he wanted was to go home. He crossed over to the door and left the room.
The next second he felt someone bash into him hard, he staggered back, regaining his balance he streatched out a hand and stopped her from reeling backwards.
'Oh ... ah I'm sorry.' Lisa said, blushing profoundly and instinctivley lifting her hand to check her hair was alright, confusion on her face when she realised that they were strangers ... and was that girl holding Rileys hand!!!
'Riley?' She said in confusion, forgetting for a moment he had said people were coming to pick him up. She couldn't put her finger on it but there didn't seemed to be something right about him, apart from the fact he looked like he was about to collapse, there was something missing from his eyes.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
His eyes lingered down at Joan's gentle grasp of his hand, something felt...wrong...yet at the same time, he couldn't do anything about it. It was such a strange feeling, her hand tightened its grip slightly and Joan's cheery voice seemed to wake him from his thoughts.
Joan:"Riley, you're friend says hi."
He looked up at Lisa, was she here to help him? Rogue said she'd come back and get him, they weren't to leave...oh no! His photo, it was still in his jacket and Catherine still was wearing it under Spikes coat, he didn't want to leave it, it's the only one the Initiative aren't aware of.
Riley:"My family.."
He began, but Joan looked up at him and placed her hand quickly on his muscular chest before he could continue.
Joan:"That's right, we're his family, we've missed you so much Riley, I can't wait to get you come, it's been so lonely with out you."
Riley:"But....she has my-"
With a smile her hand reached up and her finger was softly placed against his lips to stop him from talking.
Joan:"I know, we'll organise for it later, don't worry."
He wanted to ask Lisa to get his coat, he wanted to go see Cat, he wanted to ask Lisa to look over Cat for him, why couldn't he focus and speak properly? Lisa? Can't she help him...he doesn't want to go back to the Initiative any more...he wants to stay with them, god why couldn't he had admitted that earlier?
Joan smiled sweetly up at him, and for some reason, he smiled back at her, why was he smiling? Her hand slipped around his neck as she pulled him slowly towards her.
Joan:"I'm so glade you're coming back Riley, I'm so jealous these girls have seen more of you then I have."
Once lips where in reach of hers, she - with out hesitation - tenderly gave him a kiss, which Riley didn't really seem to respond to, his lips not even giving the slightest twitch of a reaction.
Joan:"Hey...is that anyway to welcome your girlfriend, don't be shy, she's a girl, I'm sure she's seen people kiss before, come on, I missed you.."
She gave him another sweet smile as she kissed him again, but still Riley's response seemed sluggish, his hand letting go of hers and lightly touching her cheek. What was he doing? Why was Joan kissing him? He wanted to push her away, he didn't like this, he didn't want this!
But instead her kiss seemed to only deepen, and he couldn't pull away, but even if he tried to fight her, the chip would stop him, couldn't Lisa turn into a large Cat or something and bite her!?
He hoped Rogue would hurry back, the prick, in his arm, she put something inside of him, she had the nerve to drug him! Couldn't Lisa see this?
He closed his eyes for a moment, everything around him started to spin, Joan must have felt his body sway slightly because she slowly pulled away from his embrace and placed her hand over his forehead.
Joan:"Still not feeling well?"
She asked with a curious tone, even though she knew entirely well what was wrong with him.
Joan:"Well, like I said, the sooner we get home, the sooner you can get help."
Turning around, she wrapped Riley's arms around her, placing his hands over her stomach as Riley rested his dizzy head against the back of hers.
Joan:"So you must be one of the friends he's written to me so fondly about, it was great to hear he got on so well here with you all, pity he had to stay here so long though, we all missed him."
She tilted her head to the side so she could look back at Riley, but his head dropped forward slowly, sinking towards her shoulder.
Joan:"Ha, cute, we can rest on the way home Farm-Boy."
Riley:"....Catherine's hurt..."
Joan couldn't help wonder what was so special about this silly Catherine girl, she obviously couldn't even handle herself against a vampire, so weak and useless, why did everyone care so much about her. With a faint smile Joan patted his hands with hers as they rested over her slim tummy.
Joan:"She'll be all right, now we're late, we don't want to miss our plane. It was nice meeting you, but we should get going."
With a friendly smile at Lisa, Joan looked back at Jon.
Joan:"Hey, mind helping, he's a little unwell."
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
hello?! what do you think you are doing?!
"I do not think that you are going anywhere without explaining yourself"
The politeness in Aurora's voice was nothing but a mask as the girl stepped in Joan's way. Only a red spark in her eyes gave evidence for the usage of her powers as she caged everyone around including herself between walls of fire.
However, the roaring heat was far away enough from anyone to cause no harm.
Tilting her head in a provoking manner, the elemental mutant shot a glare at the agents which was only shortly interrupted by a worried glance at Riley.
True, she didn't like him much after his earlier behavior in the War Room... but after all, he was one of them. Something she didn't think about those other people trying to... kidnap (?) him.
"You know I really had a busy day as to yet and having to do my make-up three times did not really lift my mood so unless you like it hot..."
Garnet left the sentence unfinished waiting for a reply.

Re: Good-bye cruel world
Lisa's jaw dropped ... what this girl ... poncy woman thing ... who looked like she might break down in tears if she chipped a nail ... was Riley's girlfriend ... Lisa had no desire to kill her ... no she wanted to gouge out her eyes with a blunt spoon or to perform some sort of facial reconstruction ... she was going to need all the help she could get once Lisa had finished with her. She bent down to remove her shoe both composed and calm, upon removing her high heeled boot she proceeded to yank the girl from Riley's grip and smash her head in using the heel an insane smile upon her face and a mad glint in her eyes.
..........
But she didn't, however much she was thinking of repeatedly slapping the girl around the face she couldn't do it ... she let the image fade and looked up at Riley, as if needing his verification before she would agree to his preposterous slander.
She was kissing him!! and though he didn't seem like he was really putting as much effort in as she was he wasn't exactly pushing her away, a flicker of a frown flew across her face, but she knew she was just acting like this because she was the teeny weeniest bit jealous. She always just assumed that she wasn't his type, that he preferred the type of girls who wore checked shirts and spent their childhoods romping around in the hay stacks ... now she knew that he'd had a girlfriend the whole time. But then why had he never mentioned her. She managed to get a decidedly fixed smile upon her face.
'Hey...is that anyway to welcome your girlfriend, don't be shy, she's a girl, I'm sure she's seen people kiss before, come on, I missed you..' Lisa wondered if she would miss her head as much, because if she didn't get her lips off Riley's Lisa was going to do something that involved beheading and extreme amounts of pain. How could he be dating this ... thing when he had girls flocking around him here.
'Still not feeling well?' Lisa heard her speak and muttered something under her breath which sounded remarkably like 'I'm not surprised after kissing you.'
'Maybe you should go to the medical bay for a few minutes.' She said looking at Riley with concern, something was wrong, she could feel it. He had a certain look about him that she had seen before ... when her cat had been to the vets and when he had come home he'd still been suffering the lingering effects of the anaesthetic.
'I'm Lisa ... Lisa Redpath ... I'm sorry I can't recall your name, I just can't remember "Farm boy" ever talking about you.' She said with a huge smile, mentally digging her claws into the girl Now I see why he can't write or anything, she probably keeps you under lock and key
'Don't worry Riley, I'll make sure Cat's alright.' She said reassuringly.
Jon meanwhile was just standing staring at Joan ... hadn't she just kissed him earlier that day, he could still imagine the taste of her on his lips, the feel of her in his arms, he scowled ... it didn't go unmissed by Lisa who glanced over at the boy with suspicion.
What was she playing at ... why was she kissing Riley, were two going out, why hadn't she said as much, perhaps she just wanted to make him jealous ... yes, yes that had to be it, there was no other explanation that he would accept. So when Joan ordered him forwards, instead of questioning her and complaining as to why she was kissing Riley he crossed over to the man, slipping Riley's arms around his shoulder. He took hold of the man's hand and supported him, his eyes found Joan's however and warned her that she would have to explain herself later to him.
All eyes turned to the fire mutant as she spoke, Lisa looking relived, but Jon was more apprehensive, what would Joan do now, this seemed no mere friend of Riley's but a woman who demanded to know what they were doing there. Jon decided to let Joan handle this one, after all she was the one giving the orders.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
'Maybe you should go to the medical bay for a few minutes.'
Joan:"I don't think that's necessary."
She replied calmly, then gave a faint smile.
Joan:"You don't have what he needs."
Though it would have made sense that she was talking about the medical room, it was obvious to at least Lisa that she was referring to something else...far more personal..
'I'm Lisa ... Lisa Redpath ... I'm sorry I can't recall your name, I just can't remember "Farm boy" ever talking about you.'
Joan:"That's Riley for you, he likes to keep his privet life...privet."
It took every ounce of strength to keep her polite demeanour about her, but this girl was treating Riley like he had a right to stay here, like she had some say in what was about to happen to him....when in truth she knew nothing about anything.
'Don't worry Riley, I'll make sure Cat's alright.'
Riley's eyes slowly focused on Lisa, but then he stared back at the ground, holding Joan like this, it made him remember when he had Cat in his arms. It was nice....to hold someone close, even if it was just to comfort them, it was nice...this however, this was not nice..
Was Cat going to pull threw? Would she forgive him for leaving her alone long enough to get hurt like that? He tried to speak again, he tried so hard, but he simply stood there, even when the girl from the war room came, her blaze of glory went unnoticed by Riley. He however did notice Jon's arm grabbing at him, pulling him from behind Joan and the two holding him between them, Joan cuddling his arm tightly.
Joan:"You have no right to hold us here, if you do we'll call the police! God, Riley you never mentioned these guys where like this!"
The sound of shock and disapproval was heard clearly in her voice as she glanced at Riley, his eyes drifted over towards the fire barrier.
Joan:"I don't know what kind of cult thing they have going here, but I'm taking Riley home, and there's nothing you can do to stop us. Riley tell them we're taking you home, tell them what ever, but our plane leaves soon and I'm not leaving you behind!"
Riley frowned, then thought back to what he had said earlier to Cat and Dawn about how he had wanted to return to Huxley with his folks.
Riley:"I just want to go home..."
Throwing the other girls a look that hinted they had better back off now that he had decided what he had wanted to do, she held onto his arm even tighter.
Joan:"And we will, as soon as these Nazi-types back off...looks to me like you spoke far too fondly of these 'people', I can hardly see how you've managed to stay here so long if they are like this when family comes to take you home."
She leaned closer and whispered clearly so at least Lisa could hear them, she really enjoyed playing around like this.
Joan:"They are never going to be on the guest list of our wedding."
Riley:"Joan...I want to go home...I promised to say bye to Lisa.."
The female agent had to force back the frown that threatened to hit her face, but she smiled sweetly and let go of his arm.
Joan:"Then go say bye, while lil'miss hot head calms down and lets us pass."
With a motion of her hand after letting Riley go, Jon did the same, and for a moment Riley simply stood there, judging what to do next, his eyes looking over towards Lisa as if he was too tired to move towards her.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: Good-bye cruel world'You don't have what he needs.' She wondered what the girl meant ... what didn't they have here ... unless she meant herself, a ghost of a frown skittered across Lisa's face as she decided that she definitely did not like this new girl.
'That's Riley for you, he likes to keep his privet life...privet.' Lisa glanced at the man who stood behind her, perhaps she was right, Riley never seemed to talk much about where he was from or his folks back home. All she knew was that both his parents had died and that he used to live on a farm and the last snippet was that he was a psychology graduate. He'd been so busy listening to everyone else, including herself about their problems and how much they missed their family ... and all along no one had bothered to sit down and talk to him, to find out how he was feeling. Lisa felt awful, she could hardly look at him, her eyes centering on his feet.
She watched as the young woman as she began to talk angrily, demand that they let them go. She looked quickly at Riley, her heart sinking as he spoke ... he wanted to go, he wanted to leave, they had all been so horrid to him, expecting him to support all of them.
'They are never going to be on the guest list of our wedding.' They were getting married!? Her eyes widened in surprise, how could he not tell them that, she couldn't help feeling a little hurt that he'd said nothing to her.
She stepped forwards and slipped her arms around his wait, pressing her forehead against his chest, knowing with some satisfaction that this would annoy the girl Riley had called Joan.
'I'm sorry you have to go Riley.' She blinked hard to the front of his jumper. 'Ummm congratulations.' She didn't know what else to do, what else to say ... she could have collapsed at his feet and begged him to stay but she wouldn't do that infront of miss perfect Joan woman. She pushed herself away from him and turning she walked away hurriedly ... not looking back, still blinking back tears which threatened to make their way down her pale cheeks
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Good-bye cruel world
Wedding? What wedding, he wasn't getting married! He didn't even have a girlfriend, he wished Lisa wouldn't talk so strangely..
'I'm sorry you have to go Riley.'...He didn't want to go, he didn't want her to let go of him, take him to Catherine, help him find out if she's ok that's all he wanted.
'Ummm congratulations.'..For what? No, there's no wedding, she's just joking, why couldn't Lisa see that? Did he look liked the marrying type!? At his age? He was only 21, he wasn't ready for marrage, he hasn't found the 'one' yet, he just wants to see if Cat's alright!
Suddenly the warmth of her presense disappeared, her body pulling from his arms, his eyes simply watching her walk away from him. She wanted him to stay before....didn't she want him to stay any more?
'It doesn't matter why...they still leave.'..But he didn't want them to leave him, not alone with Joan, she was acting strangly...Catherine....they don't always leave..
Joan:"Riley, come on."
He turned around as she called for him, her arms looping threw his once more, but he kept his body turned slightly away from her so he could continue watching Lisa walking away....maybe she'd turn around and come back?
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: Good-bye cruel world
She didn't want him to go, who would look out for her now, who would help her, who would stand upto Max ... all selfish reasons as to why he should remain but she really didn't want him to walk out of that front door and out of her life, just like that, in an instant he would be gone and he'd said himself he wouldn't be able to see her again ... ever.
She just couldn't believe he was getting married, why had he said nothing, that was the kind of thing you told people, but he hadn't corrected her when Joan had said it. Maybe he didn't want them to know, perhaps Joan was right, he liked his private life private. But then that didn't explain why he seemed terrified of girls, why he avoided looking at them and when he had to his eyes only ever seemed to look at their eyes, like the didn't even have bodies attached to them.
'I just want to go home...' He didn't want to stay, why ... what had they done? why did he want nothing to do with her? he hadn't even hugged her back, why was he being so cold with her? Had she done something to annoy him?
Her mind moved onto Catherine, what was wrong with her, she would have to swing by the medical bay later and check if she was alright, and where was Dave ... hadn't he gone with Riley. Perhaps he had gone with Catherine, behing her cousin and all, maybe he was hurt as well, her heart beat slightly faster in her chest.
She couldn't just walk away from Riley like this, she couldn't ... he was her friend ... but she couldn't force him to stay. She looked back, just as she turned the corner, saw him looking after her, her footsteps faltered and came to a halt. Her whole figure dejected as she watched him walk away from her, feeling a single tear find it's way down her cheek.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Good-bye cruel worldJoan:"And we will, as soon as these Nazi-types back off...looks to me like you spoke far too fondly of these 'people', I can hardly see how you've managed to stay here so long if they are like this when family comes to take you home."
A laughter escaped Circe's lips, however, it didn't reach her eyes which were on fire. Anger filled her whole self as this hag insulted her and the people that had become more of a family to her than her real relatives.
In her self-confident manner, Aurora pushed her ebony mane back her look piercing the female agent.
"I beg your pardon, dear?" she said pretending an innocence she wasn't feeling. "So you are comparing our ways of protecting our people from pseudo-professionals with a terrible taste of fashion making women appear masculine to those of the regime led by Hitler?"
A smirk appeared on her features making her usually gentle features turn cold and dangerous.
"Do you - two ordinary humans - really think this is wise while being surrounded by a flame I can command effortlessly to roast you two without hurting the rest?"
Her dark eyes were mere slits as Garnet tilted her head again, turning on the flame barriers' heat.
"Riley?"
The name sounded like a gun shot as she turned at him. The fiery mutant went on in a more soft way, real concern inher voice.
"What did this... woman do to you? To me, free will is something that you do not seem to possess at the moment.
Did she drug you?"
The question, although she directly looked at him, was more directed at Joan or anyone else willing to reply.
For now, Circe didn't intend to let them pass. Not as easy as that!
While waiting for a reply, the mutant tried to focus her mind, hoping she would be heard.
Professor! Jean! Please, either of you come here, we - or better Riley Finn - appears to be in serious trouble!

'Ordinary humans'..ha, this girl was a joke, truthfully Joan had no idea what she and Jon had done to warrant such a reaction from this mutant, she must simply be a hot head who runs blindly into battle.
But as this foolish mutant babbled on, Joan's DNA was already altering itself to better fit the dangerous situation, her resistance to heat growing with every second that passed.
Joan:"I think it is you who's not thinking wisely."
The hybrid warned as she slowly moved towards the fiery girl.
Joan:"I may not be a mutant....but I'm still far from ordinary."
With reflexes that seemed like a blur of motion, Joan's fist slammed across Circe's delicate face with such a force it was almost too easy to knock the girl out. But the female operative simply smiled gleefully as she watched the dark haired mutant slump to the ground, Joan teasingly crouching before her.
Joan:"Now that will leave a nasty bruise, looks like you'll be having to wear a lot of make-up to cover that."
Joan placed her hand on top of Garnet's head and cheerfully messed it up as she stood, throwing Jon a glance as she grabbed Riley's arm.
Joan:"Hurry!"
She demanded as she looked back in the direction the other girl had disappeared, but Riley's eyes where glued at his door, he still had his photo in there, his diary...everything..
As The other agents began to drag him away, he kept looking back to where Lisa had disappeared, kept waiting, maybe Dawn would come and see him...where's Spike and Rogue? ...Why is that girl laying on the ground?
Joan:"Riley, run!"
Where? Where was he running to? Why was he running, he wanted to stop, he didn't want to run, he was running away, he didn't want to leave again, why wasn't he allowed to have a chance at just staying in one place..

Re: Good-bye cruel world
Matt and Willow appeared in the small room, it was obviously the home of someone, but they did not no who. Their hands still firmly clasped together Matt turned to his cousin who he could see look highly uncomfortable and kept shooting glances at the sunlight that streamed through one of the window;
"Will, we're here, we must find a safe place for you, and then we can begin our search. Im afriad all my books were lost on the other side of the vortex, but i'm sure we know enoguh between us to restore Angel."
Matt stared deeply at Willow, the love he felt for this women was odd, obviously they were family, but he had always felt closer to her than to any of his imediate family, even his two sisters.....
Re: Good-bye cruel world
Hurrying down the hall, Spike found himself almost coming to a complete stop as he sensed Willow...here...in this world...why did she follow him?
As soon as Garnet's slumped form met his eyes, Spike threw aside all thoughts of Willow and hurried to Garnet, knelling before her and making sure she was still alive. He could smell them on her, that girl, and Riley, they took Riley, Garnet must have tried to stop them...they hurt her..
A growl escaped the vampire as he looked down the hall, those children had no right to hurt Garnet, they shouldn't have touched her!
Willow had taken slight comfort in Matt's assurance, but soon the room was filled with others, Logan appearing with another boy held in his arms, then a girl behind him. The Watchers eyes peered at Willow with distrust, but then his attention was taken over to Spike who was couched just outside the door.
Logan:"Spike! Get away from that girl!"
He warned with a threatening tone.
Willow:"Don't tell him what to do!"
She snapped back at the mortal, yet refused to leave the safety of Matt's arms, Logan simply throw her a warning glance as he moved towards the doorway.
Dawn:"Back! Finally!"
The 16 year old said with a sigh of relief before nervously staring at Willow and the other stranger.
Dawn:"Ah...hey.."
She glanced about nervously wondering why these two where here, but then was more worried over Riley and Cat so she would let the X-Men deal with these other guests.
Dawn:"Garnet!"
Dawn hurried out of the room as she saw the fiery mutant knocked out against the wall, Spike and Logan began fighting in front of her.
Logan:"What have you done?"
Spike:"Wasn't me! Wasn't!"
Why did Logan always assume that it was him who did the bad thing, alright, so maybe a while ago it was always him, but now's different! Now Logan should back off and give him space, he wasn't in the state of mind to handle the Watchers abuse.
The cool tips of the vampire's fingers gently touched Garnet's warm cheek.
Spike:"Aurora?"
He whispered as the Watcher spoke yet again.
Logan:"I don't think she'd like the idea of you touching her vampire."
'You shouldn't let him talk to you like that, you should at least try and tell him to leave you alone.' Willow's words intruded into the back of his mind as she watched him from within Riley's room.
Jean:"What's going on here? Sean!"
The telepath hurried to Logan's side, her hands quickly reaching for Sean, her eyes searching for any wounds to explain the blood over his clothes.
Jean:"What happened to my son?"
She demanded to know, but Dawn quickly jumped in.
Dawn:"Mrs Gray, he's alright, he used a lot of his power..."
Spike:"No one sees...no one hears...get outta my head."
He warned Willow, though she was the only one who knew he was talking to her.
Jean:"Garnet?"
Bending down, Spike stood and backed away from them, allowing Jean's arms to pick up the girl, her telekinesis making Garnet almost weightless in her arms.
Spike:"I didn't do it, I didn't, he says I did but I didn't."
Jean:"You should be with Rogue."
Was Jean's only reply as she lead Logan towards the Medical Lab, she didn't realize she had sounded cold, but she was so worried over her son..
'How can you let them treat you like that? I could free you from all this..' She whispered softly into his mind once again, causing Spike to glare at her and growl, then quickly he hurried after them.
Dawn:"Well...he's grumpy."
The spell caster grunted as she watched Spike hurry off, but she waited for the other guys who where holding Dave before she followed, she needed to lead them to the Medical Lab herself.
Willow:"Can we go see the Slayer?"
She asked her cousin curiously as she glanced back at the bright light, she had to squint slightly because it was hurting her sensitive eyes.

Good-bye cruel world
as they stepped throught the portal the light hit them like a truck, the years spent in the darkness had made them more sensitive to the light. Johnson reached into the inside pocket of his trenchcoat and pulled out his dark sunglassesglasses, they seemed like a relic in the other world, something never to be used again.
"wheres the nearest medical.." thompsons words were cut off by the feeling of evil nearby, johnson felt it to "a vampire" he hissed, reaching to his belt and drawring his sabre, the blade shining in the light, protectively he stood between willow and the other agent holding the boy, the sword pointing menacingly in her direction
"we have more importaint business" thompson's words were directed only at his partner "we need to get to a hospital, this cannot be compromised by foul creatures like that one" he turned to Dawn "we should hurry, i can feel him slipping" he shifted the boys weight in his arms, not used to carrying people of his size and weight.
Re: Good-bye cruel world
Matt watched the odd chaos unfold ahead of him as people ran about attempting to help their friends and family. One thing that did bother him was Willow's instant hook onto Spike, she was stuck thinking about him and he was destroying her slowly. He wouldnt allow this. Not to Willow, one of the greatest Wickers to ever walk the face of this world.
More other-worlders traveled through the vortex and appeared in this small cramped room, three of them, one was unconcious in another man's arms as well as a young girl. Before Matt could act the man had swung out a long silver blade, it's tip pointed at Willow's throat. Matt couldnt hold his anger, he grabbed the blade tightly in one hand, it's sharp edges coming close to piercing long lines into his hands. He shoved the blade aside and the stranger allowed it to swing to his side.
"You may have more important things to do, but you had better do them quickly, leave her alone, or so help me you will regret it." Matt's tone was dark, it wasn't since he had protected his sisters in his home town that he had been like this. He flahsed a glance at the stranger before turning back to the enthrawling action that played out.
Matt watched as Spike shot the two Magic users vicious glances and hurried from the room, Spike's increase amount of ignorance towards Willow angered him, but he wouldn't act upon it.....yet.
"Can we go see the Slayer?" Willow's soft voice whistled into his ears. He turned to her and smiled. A soft smile that wasn't often seen.
"I don't see why not Will, they can try to stop us if we want. But we should move now, we can't hang around. Wotaya say Will?" Matt's grin widened as he looked deeply into his cousin's eyes, the power she held within her reflected in them.....
