he shrugged, he didn’t mind taking his clothes off, after all it was what usually happened after rugby matches, only then it was in front of a group of other guys which was embarrassing till he got used to it. he slowly removed his socks one by one and dropped them on the growing pile of clothes.
he paused wondering whether or not she was going to stop him any time soon thinking back to the changing rooms after rugby, it was much more embarrassing than this, because generally it involved showering with a load of other blokes afterwards which was not a pretty thing. he slowly undid his belt and pulled it from round his waist, he wouldn’t mind showering with Lisa, quickly he pushed the thought from his mind as he remembered there were others present in the room he looked over at the other girl, trying to avoid Lisa’s gaze, he really did not want to have to back down from this challenge and wondered whether or not the other girl really minded or not
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
Lisa felt a sweat break out on the palms of her hands, was he actually going to remove his pants, she glanced over a little nervously at Angela, wondering what she was making of this whole situation Lisa had unwittingly got the pair into.
Outside in the hall a door opened and a now properly clothed Cat stepped out, now it was all over she could pretend that Lost Angles had never happened, or that it was a bad dream and that way keep her sanity … anyway she had more pressing issues like the lack of shoes, her boots were still in the medical bay to attend to.
Her eyes fell upon the two men stationed either side of Lisa‘s door, she had regained a it of her former confidence now she was back in a world she knew, she was still blessing the sunlight which poured in from a window at the end of the corridor.
She moved out into the hall, her movement for once not followed by the thudding sound of her boots but soundless since she only had socks on her feet. She was now sporting black combats, though she hadn’t liked them as much as her other ones which were presently in another dimension and she was wearing a top emblazed with the slogan “whatever”
One of the men, were they carrying guns? Stepped in her way shaking his head at her and motioning inside, his telepathy letting him know of the demonstration going on inside.
‘You really don’t want to go in there.’ He said, looking down at the fierce eyed girl in front of him, she elbowed him out of the way without a word and opened the door. Her eyes falling on Dave … was he stripping? she blinked several times hoping that the scene would go away.
‘Put it away.’ She said, her tone was quite bright as she saw the colour in his cheeks rising, he had definitely filled out since she had last seen him. She pushed her hair from her eyes as she spoke, she’d lost her hair band at some point in Lost Angels.

Re: Lisa and Cat's rooms
Lisa's nervousness was evident to dave, he hesitated, wondering if it was actually a good idea to keep going.
‘Put it away’
inside he sighed with relief, although a part of him wanted to continue just to see her reaction he thought it probably would not go down too well with the other girl, after all, he had barely spoken to her.
he looked at Cat, not feeling too embarased, after all he was not ahshamed of his body. "did Riley take all his stuff then" he asked lisa "or did he leave any, y'know clothes?" he picked up his belt and put it back on while speaking "i would not normally ask but since removing mine i've noticed how dirty they are and i have nothing of my own to put on instead"
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
The frown that appeared on Angela's face wasn't even attempted t be hidden as the other girl walked in, hugging Riley's folder even tighter as she stared at the boy who was just told to stop undressing.
"That wasn't really very nice.." She stated hurt by the comment, it wasn't a secret that Angela was very sensitive about her inability to control her powers.
"Oh, hey, I'm Angela, you must be Catherine, right?" Turning her attention from the boy she focused on the new girl with a more polite expression on her face. But then excused herself as her phone started humming a faint tune.
"Pardon me guys." With that, she pulled out her pale purple glittery phone and placed it by her ear, Angela loved glittery things, so a lot of her things had glitter on it.
"Hey Cody! ....You did? Oh, no...Lisa said she saw Riley leave with a....uhm....friend. But he forgot to lead a forwarding address, could you find out where he lives for us? We wonna write him a letter! ....Lisa wants to write him a letter....k, I'll catch up with you later." She spun about to Lisa as she hanged up and slipped the phone away again.
"Wow, I would have thought Riley of all guys would be one that Cody wouldn't be jealous of, honestly he's...so jealous! I hugged Dawn after we heard her sister was hurt in an accident last week and I swear...I think he was jealous.." Although she was teasing, she was also being serious, Cody had a strong jealous streak when it came to others being around Angela, one of the main reasons he hovered around her all the time.
"But he's checking for Riley's home address in Iowa now." She turned to Cat for a moment and then hugged her folder slightly tight....the girl had this look about her that made Angela slightly nervous to speak to her..
"Riley gave me something to give to you...a....a plane ticket. Uhm...Cody has a car if you need a ride...if you're leaving, I'm not sure why he's left it for you...uh...do you know why?" She asked extremely curiously but then looked away hinting Cat didn't have to answer.
"I don't mean to be nosey, sorry." She apologized politely, still feeling slightly nervous because of those strange men outside and the half undressed guy in Lisa's bed....boy would Cody be upset if he walked in here now...
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
Catherine smiled slightly, it seemed Dave was as good at making friends here as her, anyway what on earth was he doing stripping off in front of who girls … in fact she wasn’t sure ,,, no she was definitely sure that was one of those things she never wanted to know. But she was happier when he slipped his belt back around his waist, letting her eyes linger on him for a second and then turning her attention back to the two girls.
‘Yeah I’m Cat.’ She said in reply to Angela introducing her, Cat never referred to herself as Catherine, she didn’t feel like one. Her ear pricked up slightly at the girls name … wasn’t she the one who had Catherine’s ticket, her thoughts were confirmed the next minute when the mutant continued talking, first answering a painfully glittery phone to a boy called Cody. Hadn’t Riley said someone called Cody would take her to the airport, it would be too late to leave today, but she could leave tomorrow couldn’t she.
‘Riley gave me something to give to you … a …a plane ticket. Uhm … Cody has a car if you need a lift … if your leaving. I’m not sure why he’s left it for you … uh do you know why?’ Angela said.
‘I’m going home.’ Cat said rather shortly, she had to admit to herself that she was missing the tall apartment blocks and hard streets of her home, maybe she could even persuade David to come with her …if she wanted him too, she glanced back over at him, remembering how tall Riley was. She remembered when he had held her, after he had shouted at her, her head hadn’t even reached his shoulders. Her mind wandered off down a little memory lane for a few seconds, no one had given her a hug in years, not one that didn’t demand something from her, his body had been very warm, comfortingly warm …and she remember what he’d whispered in her ear, his voice sad but racked with guilt.
‘I can’t help you … I keep trying and I can’t, I gave up getting my meds, I gave up my friends, I gave up my new room, I gave up my new life … it was a lie but it felt real … I gave up everything and I still can’t help you … I’m … I’m so sorry Catherine I can’t help you.’ It struck her for the first time that maybe no body else could help her because she wasn’t trying, but then why should she, even Riley had left, what was the point in trying when there was nothing worth trying for, what was she going to do … stay here? Go to school? Become an one of the X-men? She could hardly deny she wasn’t a mutant but then she could easily fit into society with her powers, it wasn’t like she was green or anything.
She was also feeling a little guilty now as well from what Riley had said he had given up a lot and things that meant the world to him to come and get her back and she had treated him awfully and now from what she could gather he was gone and she’d never thanked him for any of it.
‘I don’t think any of his things will fit you Dave, your not exactly the same size.’

Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
he gave an apologetic glance at Angela, she did not seem impressed at him then put his socks and shoes back on and stood shakily to his feet. He looked down at his crumpled shirt "well there's no way i'm putting that back on" he looked back towards cat, she was seriously thinking she was going to leave "no chance, you need to finish your education" he was shocked to hear himself say this "and here is as good a place as any to do that"
he secretly wished he could stay as well, it was just that he didnt think he would fit in very well. "You should listen to your own advice" his thoughts were broken by Johnson from outside the door, he looked towards him with a shocked expression relising the guy was right.
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms'No chance, you need to finish your education and here is as good a place as any to do that.'
Catherine gave something close to a snort as she looked at him, he what!! he wanted her to stay here and persuade her to go back to school when she had spent the last few years of her life trying to get out of the system.
She had a quick flash back, a room, a class room, an English lesson, she could almost smell the paint on the walls, a faint breeze drifted in through the window, carrying the scent of car fumes. On the street below some road raged driver was honking his horn at the delivery van which brought the food for the school canteen. (the word food was of course used in it's widest context) She had just stood up, filled with dread, she'd been asked to read aloud from the book of poems they were studying. More than books she hated poems because they often made little or no sense. She cleared her throat, conscious of everyone's eyes upon her, the teach look at her impatiently, she glanced around at her class mates, seeing the girl who had pushed her over in the corridor earlier that day looking at her.
One of Cat's hands nervously played with the pocket of her denim dungarees. She would have liked to have dressed like her class mates but Anne hadn't had chance to take her shopping yet, she'd been busy making friends at the local gym. She hated reading and even more she hated speaking, but it was better than the French lessons she took where she had no idea about anything, literally. It was hard enough for her to grasp this language let alone a second.
The words on the page in front of her seemed to swim about, mocking her, she hadn't been asked to read anything out yet ... Oh god they were going to think she was an idiot, they were going to laugh ... she knew it.
She didn't read the title ...Pro Patria Mori (It is a sweet and fitting thing to die for your country) it was Latin but it could have been ancient Egyptian for all she knew.
She took a deep breath, trying to remember to read from left to right not from right to left..
'When he ... wh ... who ad.' there was a long pause as she squinted at the word 'adores th ... thee ... thee has left but the name.' In this manner she stumbled and started to the last line and sat down hard, feeling her ears burning in shame. She could hear people whispering around her, pointing and a wildfire of giggles starting with the girl at the front, Cat didn't dare look up. The teacher called the class to order and asked the girl at the front to read, it was of little matter to her if the strange English girl couldn't read, she wasn't going to be paid extra for helping her.
The blonde haired girl stood up and did a mocking imitation of Catherine, the teacher slowly reprimanded her. Catherine looked down at her book of poems, wondering why the ink was running, she realised two tears had slid down her cheeks. She hated it here, hated it, she wanted to go home. She rubbed one hand across the worn black t-shirt with a picture of a grey pony on she was wearing under her dungarees and closed her eyes, willing herself to be back home when she opened them, or at least just to be by herself.
'School? Education? I don't think so, I finnished my education a year and a half ago.' Cat looked over at Dave, shaking her head determinedly, there was no way on this earth that she was staying here, she wasn't going though that again and worse than that everyone would be even more advanced here and she hadn't done any proper work in lessons since she was fourteen. She'd be even more ridiculed here than at her other school.
Lisa looked over at Catherine, wondering why the girl seemed so against the idea of lessons. Lisa loved working, she couldn't understand why anyone would think differently. The look on Catherine's face was almost one of fear, as she shook her head.
She leant over towards Angela.
'I have to go find Dawn and now seems like a good time.'

Try and read some of the last few posts when you walk into a thread, it's hard when someone comes and misses vital details. )
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
"Really" he was faking an impressed tone "a year and a half, wow" there was no chance he was going to let her go back unless she had at least a C in every subject she took.
"So what grades did you get?" he folded his arms across his chest in a manner that showed he was readying himself for the upcoming arguement, he had not had one of those in ages.
he stared straight at her, his eyes serching her expression for signs of weakness, wondering how good at arguing she was because if arguing skill ran in the family then this one could last a while
'So what grades did you get?' There was quite a long pause where she just looked at him, forgetting he didn't know much about the schooling system in America.
'I passed music...' She said defensivley, not mentioning that she had passed the pratical part but not the written, she had plenty of F's, or failures though. 'I dont need grades to get on in the world you know.' She knew this wasn't true but she couldn't bear to go back to sitting in stuffy classrooms and being shouted at by teachers because they couldn't read her homework. And the exams were the worst, you had to write alot and in a short amount of time and she tended to panic, which meant that she forgot how to spell things and she muddled "b" and "d" up and she didn't have time to correct herself. She could remember sitting there with her hands over her eyes for most of the hour while sitting an English paper, as if she ignored it the thing would go away.
She saw him fold his arms and a frown flashed across her face, what? ... did he think he could just turn up and start telling her how to live her life, if she didn't want to do school work she didn't have to. She wasn't going back to being ridiculed again, and if he did make her go she wouldn't do anything

'I passed music...I dont need grades to get on in the world you know.'
her ignorance was shocking to him, how could she even imagine surviving in the world with a 'pass' in music, even the worst jobs need some sort of qualifications. "you ARE going to stay" he shot a glance at the others in the room wondering wether or not they needed to hear this conversation "you will regret it if you do not, here you have a chance to redo anything you messed up in and if you put some effort into it you could come out with some worthwhile qualifications"
he thought to his own education, he was doing alright till his powers appeared, now it was too late, he had been unable to complete his A levels and therefore would not be able to get into university.
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
'No I'm NOT staying here.' She said angrily. 'You can't just turn up here and start telling me what to do you know David.' She eyed him for a minute before continuing.
'I've been fine so far, I'm going back to Washington I've got friends who'll put me up and I'll get a job and then I can rent somewhere.' ... and get my house by the sea she finished mentally to herself but her dream had never seemed as far away as it did now.
'Hey that's not fair.' She cried out 'I did try, I'm just not an academic person.' That was partly true, she he’d tried for a while but once she met Bekki, Jon and the others they encouraged her not to and she hadn't been in a hurry to protest about trips to the beach and the skate board park.

Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
he raised one eyebrow, he was like this usually during arguements, perhaps it did run in the family 'change of tactics' he thought to himself "fair enough, its your life, you want to screw it up then who am i to stop you" he turned from her and looked out of the window, totally ignoring her behind him, a slight grin appearing on his face.
"let me know how it works out some time" he did not look at her "i was going to offer to help, but hey, you don't need any, you're fine, everything is going to be perfect, after all, who needs qualifications a job or money" he spoke in the serious tone his father had always used when he ended arguements like this, it was guaranteed to make the person think.
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
She crossed her arms across the "whatever" slogan and looked at his back.
'Fine I'm glad you've seen sense.' Her pride wasn't going to admit that he was right, not for all the rubies in India or the salt in the seas.
She sat down firmly on the bed and looked at the floor waiting for him to speak next ... but the silence lengthened akwardly.
'I don't need anyones help David, I could have done with that along time ago. I've learnt to stand on my own two feet now and ok so maybe I'm not going to be a teacher or a florist or an autronaught or any other high flying career. (Why she thought a florist was a high flying career was a complete mystery.) But I'm not ambitious, I'm happy just being me, I don't wanna spend my whole life in and out of an office. You don't have to have good grades to be happy in life you know, money isn't everything.'

her feeble attempt to justify her choice was amusing to Dave who was still not looking at her, usually when a person tried to justify their actions or choices it signaled that their argument was weakening because they were only trying to convince themselves.
"that's alright, if you prefer working long hours for little pay then I will support you in that decision" he turned back around with a very serious expression on his face "I could help you look for accommodation in your price range if you like, I hear cardboard boxes are getting expensive nowadays though" he pretended to look like he was thinking "perhaps we could find a nice dustbin somewhere"
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
Bobby walked down the long corridor lined with numbers of doors, each with the names of students on. Sunlight streamed in across the corridor from the afternoon weather, it was warm, a bit to warm for Bobby, but he controled his temperature carefully.
Bobby looked up the long bright corridor and standing outside the room he was looking for stood two guards, to his knowledge these guards hadnt been assigned to this room with the professor's approval. The two men stood outside Lisa's door were dressed in pure black gard, dark glasses, the whole lot. Bobby quickened his pace to see what was going on.
He reached the door and looked at the two guards, they didnt even regard him at first, stood facing forward, their emotionless faces fixed on a point behind Bobby. The ice master walked forward to knock on the door and find out where Catherine was when the men both turned to face him and stopped him.
Bobby's face filled with a slight surprise; "I don't think you have any duristiction here, who are you anyway? I am here to see Catherine Hall and if you try and stop me, I can assure you, you will regret it. I am here with the approval of the the Professor and am a Teacher of this institute. Now, let me past."
Bobby's icy blue eyes were fixed on the guards, he wasn't about to move unless he had to defend himself, then he would act....
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
They looked over the 'Teacher' suspiciously "we do not want to fight" Thompson spoke slowly retracting his arm from in front of the door, Johnson's remained, Thompson looked at him questioningly "he does not mean to harm anyone"
"they need to be alone at the moment" Johnson still looked at bobby, Thompson turned to him also "they are having a little family discussion" he explained "perhaps you could wait a minute or two" Johnson moved his arm out of the way, giving him the choice of waiting or not.
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
'Oh fine I'll stay and get an education then.' She said, a sudden smile crepping across her lips, anyone who knew who she'd become during the last two years would ahve been instantly upon their guard after seeing her smile like that. Just because she said she'd stay didn't mean she was going to, she could get Cody to take her to the airport tomorrow and before Dave realised she would be back in Washington with her friends and she would never have to think about this school, mutants or Dave ever again.
