Glancing over at the new girl, Jean offered her a warm smile as she knocked on Lisa's door politely.
"We'll give everyone combat uniforms for your safety, boots will be included so you don't have to worry." Dawn glanced down at her own clothes, then felt rather glade they'd be given new ones to wear, this ones should be burned and never spoken of again..
"X-Force doesn't have a leader any more...Riley left us...so has Zack, so that leaves Sean as next in command until Riley returns." The fact she said until Riley returns hints that she's refusing to accept he's gone for good, but then again, Dawn was always a stubborn one.
"I am aware of Riley Finn's disappearence, unfortunatly we have more pressing matters at hand, the X-Men will look into his leaving at the first chance we get." Jean assured Dawn, who wasn't looking to keenly at the telepath, but forced herself to glare unhappily down the hall. Riley was a pressing matter, she had no right to insist otherwise.
"Now please, Lisa Redpath, Catherine Hall, Dawn, we must hurry to the Blackbird and get ready for take off, Angela Hughes and Sean will meet us there, I'm sure my son will know where to find me." She'd send him a telepathic message, but she was straining herself enough as it is trying to keep the faint lock on Spike she had...and for Rogue's sake, she didn't want to lose it.
"You know, I was just told we're leaving tomorrow.." Came a voice from nearby, the Slayer had made her way back towards the dorms in hopes of finding Dawn, and instead discovers a team being put togather and heading off.
"There is no one in this world who knows Angelus as well as I do, other then Spike and look what he's gone and done, if you don't let me tag along, I will find other ways to get there." Stubborness ran in the Demore-Summers family, but Jen hated when plans change and she's left out of the loop...she's just not used to that happening to her any more.
" 'Sides...while ya'll just running in blindly, my team has a 3 week plan up our sleeve, change of players and playing field, but no biggy we can't handle." She added folding her arms across her rapidly healing chest, there was more then just defeating Angelus....Spike told her this worlds Angel was captive there as well...she wanted to rescue him as much as she wanted to defeat Angelus.
With a slightly worried look, Jean then agreed to Jennifer's request, she then turned and lead the way towards the hanger. She had to get their uniforms ready as well as check on Rogue, Dawn watched Jean walk off and then called out.
"We're on our way!" She wanted to walk with Lisa and Cat, she glanced the Slayer as she peered into Catherines room curiously.
"And Logan tried to tell me we had it good the other day.." She teased slightly about her old apartment as her eyes travelled across the room and then settled on Cat.
"How ya holding up?" The Slayer asked with a faint smile, with all these alien things around her, she was really glade that at least she had her own clothes on. Sure black leather didn't appear to be the fashion here, but it helped hide her in the dark, so she wasn't going to fuss about such mild things.
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms'X-Force doesn't have a leader any more...Riley left us...so has Zack, so that leaves Sean as next in command until Riley returns.' She had to be kidding, they were gonna leave that idiot Sean in charge, her mood darkened slightly at this snippet of information.
'I am aware of Riley Finn's disappearance, unfortunately we have more pressing matters at hand, the X-Men will look into his leaving at the first chance we get.' She frowned, what was this blasted X-force they kept prattling on about? and why the hell wern't they trying to find Riley. When she looked at Dawn's face she couldn't think of anything more pressing, the girl looked devastated ... crushed.
'what’s "the blackbird." Cat said, but before anyone could answer her Rogue appeared. She couldn't help smiling to see that she was alright, she remembered only a few hours earlier she'd thought Jennifer would be dead by now and now she was standing here looking almost a hundred percent.
'Rogue!' She said happily, she had no idea what Jennifer was talking about, and she didn't really care, Jen was well again and that's all that mattered to her. She had no clue where she was going, but it didn't seem she had any choice in the matter.
'How ya holding up?' Cat grinned in response.
'I'm okay I guess, my neck still hurts though.' She paused seeing confused look on Rogues face as she saw the bandage Cat hadn't removed yet. 'Vampire.' She said as her only explanation. 'I don't remember much.'
In the next room along Lisa gave a start, she'd forgotten she was in X-force what with all the worry over Riley, but the sound of her name being called snapped her out of her reverie. She got to her feet and glanced across at Dave.
'Why don't you go back to the room you stayed in yesterday, you'll be safe there for the evening ... I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow if were back then' She flashed him a smile and pulled the door open for him to pass through, ignoring the men who was still standing outside so she could lock her room behind him.
'You can leave those there.' She said pointing towards the weapons on the floor.'

Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
"it might be a good idea" he stepped out of her room leaving the weapons lying where he had left them "i'll see ya" he said starting to walk slowly off in a random direction, he couldnt remember where the room he stayed in yesterday was so he had made up his mind to just wander tonight. "come on" he called to Thompson, the agent was giving the group inquisitive looks, he stopped when Dave called and began to follow.
"They mentioned Angellus" he said loudly "he was our mission before we crossed over" he caught up with the boy. dave glanced over his shoulder at the people in the hallway behind them, there certainly seemed to be something strange going on around here and his inquisitive mind wanted to find out what "how good are you at not being seen?" he whispered to the agent, Thompson gave him a knowing glance "top of the class in covert operations" he replied quietly reading daves mind before he could ask "i will find out what i can, just not till we get out of sight" he whispered, signalling to Johnson to meet him from his patrolling.
Re: Lisa's and Cat's roomsAnd they're not going to be here when you get back. She thought determinedly, shutting the door and locking it firmly behind her. She was handing them straight to either Jean or Xavier as soon as she got back ... from wherever she was going.
Lisa could feel excitement bubbling up in her, tinged with fear, the unknown, she couldn't believe their team had been called out on assignment ... they hadn't had time to bond yet. Her heart thumped increasingly rapidly under the small top she was wearing.
She spotted the others making their way out of Catherine's room, noticing Cat's name on the door as the agile mutant closed the door. Lisa noticed she didn't seem to have a key, she saw Cat glance worriedly at the door as if troubled by this fact, but then she shrugged and turned away.
'Hi Cat, I see your names on your room.' She said 'You really belong here now.' Expecting some kind of positive response from the girl but she only shrugged as if the news meant nothing to her. Lisa wondered if she was upset over the riding tickets, what had Dave been going to say? Why wasn't Cat keen on birthdays ... she wasn't about to ask the girl, she didn't want to anger her again.

Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
A rather guilty look crossed Rogue's face as she eyed the patched up bite mark, bite Cat was still here so she managed to hold herself against the vampire...which was cool. She was still mad with herself over getting hurt so easily, but Cat really handled herself well.
The Slayer kinda gave Lisa a small nod for hello, but she was really more occupide with Cat then the others she didn't know well or at all. When the girls began to walk, Dawn walked beside Lisa to the right, Lisa and Cat stood together in the center of the group, and Rogue walked next to Cat on the far left.
"Feeling better now ya back in your home world?" The Slayer asked curiously, it was night time, and although she had seen the light, she was forcing herself to forget that. If she was lucky she could get Angelus, open a portal and go back to Lost Angels before sunrise...otherwise she might not be strong enough to leave.
"I suppose there's one good thing about this, we may not have trained much, but we all know each other, I mean, we're all friends...and we kinda know Sean.. Oh! Lisa, you'll never believe it, I saw Sean's real eyes, those glasses don't do justice to him, they're amazing." She grinned at her friend, for the moment entirely forgetting about their missing Riley, but as soon as she remembered her smile faded and she returned to her more sad state of mind.
"But do you know how to fight the demons you're most likely going to face?" Rogue asked with a sudden look of worry as they walked down the hall, it had slipped her mind that not everyone in this world might know how to handle demons..
"You mean vampires right? I know, simple, a wooden stake to the heart, cut off their heads, rip out their hearts." Dawn spoke rather matter of factly, but Rogue looked appauled at her last comment.
"I'd advise against the last one." Dawn rolled her eyes at the Slayers statement, of course she wasn't going to rip out a vampires heart, honestly, how stupid did she think Dawn was?
"You asked for some weaknesses, I gave ya some, I'm not gonna rip out the demons heart and turn it into a demi-god, but after 6 hours, they do die." Dawn shrugged, then looked ahead, Rogue decided perhaps talking wasn't a good idea since she seemed to be annoying a lot of people..
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms'Feeling better now ya back in your home world?' Cat glanced over at the taller girl who stood by her side, she looked so pale, paler even that Lisa ... she hoped Jennifer would consent to going on a picnic tomorrow, but she didn't think now was the appropriate time to start bugging her.
'Oh! Lisa, you'll never believe it, I saw Sean's real eyes, those glasses don't do justice to him, they're amazing.'
'What colour are they? I always imagined them to be red ... how comes he could take his glasses off?' Lisa said filled with curiosity at this phenomenon, Cat meanwhile was wondering how Sean was.
'Did everyone else get back through the portal alright?' She said, wondering why she was showing concern for a bunch of mutants ... she was supposed to hate them ... wasn't she? But she just didn't feel threatened around them, and since she was a mutant she guessed she could hold her own around other mutants.
'But do you know how to fight the demons you're most likely going to face?' Cat's head swung around her face showing an amazing degree of shock.
'Demons?! They're sending us out to fight demons? Is that what your "teams" do.' Her voice sounded angry and her eyes snapped around to Dawn and Lisa who would know all about the teams. Lisa inched a step away from the angry brown eyes.
'Ummm ... well ... I.' She stammered, looking down at the ground.
'We just got back from another dimension and I'm hurt and tired and they expect me to go demon hunting! I was there when they called the lists for the teams, there are other people who could go.' She couldn't help feeling upset, she'd just been included on a team and no one had asked her if she wanted to be on one ... if she wanted to join up for demon fighting, and they hadn't even told her what the teams did.
Lisa looked over at Dawn hoping the girl would help her out here, she didn't know what to say, she didn't like angry Cat much.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms"They don't fight just demons, we help people Cat, we do these team things as a way of helping both ourselfs and others. Sometimes we go and do really basic things, like one I remember Connor went to help paint that old retirement village that was attacked and robbed. And then Angela's taken a part time job donw in the preschool that was constently getting gang members terspassing and stealing off them." She tried to explain the verious things the teams might do, but rubbed her temples with her fingers showing how tired and upset she was.
"Most likely we're just going to help out *if* we're needed, sometimes we just stand back and watch, either way I don't really care.." Rogue listened to Dawn with only passing interest, she was more worried over Spike and Angel...but he wasn't really her Angel, just another Angel, with his same face, his same soul..
"I didn't understand what Spike was trying to tell me.." She mumbled to herself as she began guiltily going over what had happened in the hall. Dawn glanced over at her rather hoping she didn't bring up the part where he called Cat 'Riley's Girl', the young spellcaster partially dreaded the thought of what Cat might do if she heard that..
"I can't believe he went back to Angelus, I should have seen it, the way he was ranting on in the halls, I can't understand why he went off, we could have found other ways, why was he so determined to be such an idiot?" The Slayer folded her arms as she thought out loud to herself, Dawn stared at her for a moment, the spellcaster wanted to calm Catherine down, not talk about an insane vampire!
"...can you tell Riley's girl, Catherine, can you tell'er the joke is over, I wonna help'em again, I'll prove to'er, an' all'em, I don' wan'er trust or her open arms, not unless I've earned it..." Wait, was Cat going out with Riley!? Rogue glanced at Catherine for a moment, a suprised look on her face as her eyes studied the girl. But then the more important issue weighed on her shoulders, she almost let out a sympathetic sigh as she realized what he was on about.
"He told us, why didn't I pay attention to him? In the hallway, he told us why he's left, he wants to help, but he wants to prove to the people who have been helping him that he wants to help. I think he just wants these people, and for some strange reason Cat as well, to trust him. Which I might add, coming from a vampire is really bizzar, but I guess everyone at one point or another wants someone to trust them.." She frowned and came to a complete stop, her eyes glancing over things in the hallway and avoiding the stares of the other girls.
She knew exactly what Catherine was on about, and she didn't want people assuming just because she was a demon slayer that meant she was going to charge in and start slaying things.
"I'm not going to fight demons, that's not why I'm going, these guys have powers I can't even imagine, who needs a slayer when you shoot balls of fire or whatever. I'm only going because...." She trailed off, but she was looking directly at Catherine, as if feeling the need to explaine herself to the girl who had gone through so much to help her back at L.A.
"...Spike says they have Angel, my Angelus has your Angel...I want to get him out of there...I just want to save Angel, I've seen you fight Cat, I trust you...and I'm not going to ask you to fight. But...I would like to ask you to help me find...where they're holding Angel..."
'Most likely we're just going to help out *if* we're needed, sometimes we just stand back and watch, either way I don't really care ...' Catherine shrugged.
'I don't care so long as I don't have to fight.' She'd done enough fighting for a while, she was beginning to understand a bit more about these teams though ... they helped people, helping was good wasn't it?
'I think he just wants these people, and for some strange reason Cat as well, to trust him. Which I might add, coming from a vampire is really bizarre, but I guess everyone at one point or another wants someone to trust them ...' Catherine winced ... she knew why ... because she'd shot him. But it wasn't as if she'd known, how was she going to tell Rogue ... the girl sounded as if she liked Spike and Cat now had to inform her that only a couple of hours ago she'd tried to kill him with a gun that now lay upon her bedside table. She looked down at the ground ... better Rogue found out from her than anyone else she decided, but she couldn't even look at Rogue as she spoke.
'I trust you.' Why did she have to say that, she couldn't trust Cat at all, she'd just tried to kill someone and now because of her Spike had run off somewhere.
'He ... that is to say I ... shot him.' She put her hands in her pockets, staring at the ground as if it fascinated her. She didn't say that she'd been doing to protect Rogue ... or so she thought at the time. There was no excuse for shooting someone, her stomach was like a pit of twisted guilt.
'But I'll help you get Angel back if you want my help.' She said still not looking at Rogue, the girl was probably going to hit her and she didn't think she could win a fight against someone like Rogue ... not that she wanted to fight her anyway.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms"I heard." She said simply remembering back to the fight the two had in the med lab, she guessed Cat hadn't really noticed her back there.
"..Spike was really upset, I know this won't help Cat, but the thing with Spike, when people hurt him physically, he'll complaine about it for a bit but then that's it. It's not what we do to him that hurts him so badly, it's what we say, how we act around him.." Rogue joined Catherine in staring down at the ground.
"I'm noting going to say anything about that Cat, sounds like you're already beating yourself up about it...you shot him...I yelled at him and said I'd never trust him and kicked him out of my apartment after he came to me for help. I thought he lead the Initiative to me on purpose, but he didn't know they bugged him. And when he found out he didn't tell me, I told him I'd never trust him and I think he believed that...I let him go back to Angelus to be butchered on a daily basis. You shooting him isn't the worst thing that's happened to him, if anything I did the worst thing, and when you see him tonight...you'll understand why he is so desperate to find somewhere else to fit in and live, somewhere he thinks is safe and away from Angelus." Her voice was quiet as she spoke, but she felt worse with every word she spoke, after talking she just wanted to get to Spike and Angel all the quicker. But it was also worse for Rogue, because she knew, deep down, Spike had a thing for her, and even though she didn't return it, she felt as if she let that uncomfortable feeling blind her to his call for help.
Dawn walked silently beside Lisa, although they where on about Spike and Angel, she was lost in thoughts on Riley and Catherine. She could see it so clearly, how different he acted around her, Riley hadn't been so determined to help someone before, not in the way he was acting about Catherine. Why? Not that Dawn was jealous or anything...she gave up on her crush on Riley a looong time ago, she was more keen on someone else anyway...
But Cat was mean to him, and she yelled at him, and he didn't even know her, although he knew things about her that was rather odd.. But what was going to happen? Was anyone going to go find him? Why didn't he wait around and say good bye to her? And why was Circe knocked out in front of his room, she was scared... something felt wrong, and she was also upset. Riley never showed an interest in any girl, and then Cat shows up, and he's all interested, and she's mean to him, and then he leaves before he can tell her, before he even was able to really figure out what he felt. God he was so dense! Dawn picked up on it in like 3 minutes, Lisa would be able to see it in a snap if she was there, and Cat and Riley where blind to the fact!
Why couldn't have Cat been nice to him, just for once she wanted to see Riley happy, she thought he deserved someone, he was really nice, really charming, always keep to help, so why didn't she like him like every other girl did!? Dawn's eyes narrowed slightly as she glared at the ground, Riley should have stayed, he should have stayed and made sure Cat was alright like she knew he wanted to. If he wouldn't stay for them, then why couldn't he stay for her?
"How old are you Cat? I mean...on your birthday, how old are you turning?" The fact Dawn asked such an off topic question hinted to her mind wondering off elsewhere. But Riley was 21, he had his birthday on March 12th, so that made him slightly older then the other guys...what Age difference did he and Cat have?
My entire life I've been drowning in my sisters shadow..
..for once I want to shine..
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
She didn't like the topic of conversation that they were on, even though Rogue was being kind she couldn't help feeling more and more guilty with each passing second, she'd just remembered the argument the two of them had had in the medical bay. She was a very bad person she decided, she was going to have a lot of apologising to do when they found him.
'I thought he lead the Initiative to me on purpose, but I didn't know they bugged him.' She glanced up at Rogue, that name "initiative" ... it sounded familiar, she'd read it or heard it somewhere before. She frowned, straining her memory to remember but it eluded her but she remained sure she'd heard it before.
'The initiative ... what’s that?' She asked Rogue. Lisa too seemed intrigued by what this was because she looked across at the pair.
'How old are you Cat? I mean...on your birthday, how old are you turning.'
'Oh ummm eighteen.' Cat said taking a second to think about it. It struck her for the first time that she'd be an adult ... but did that mean that she social workers and councillors would have to leave her alone now, she felt a small seed of hope seem to settle in her chest. And that should mean that they couldn't prescribe her more of those awful drugs ... but then she wasn't even sure the Government even knew where she was anymore. But she wasn't too keen to make it otherwise ... and if she was an adult then they couldn't make her live with Anne and Roger anymore. She couldn't help a ghost of a smile wandering over her pretty face as the four continued walking.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Eighteen...That means there's only really 3 years difference between the pair, so that isn't really that bad, there was a 15 year gap between her parents. Wait, why was she even thinking this!? She could hardly do anything with this trail of thought, so she slowly let it drop and turned her attention towards Rogue as she too waited for an explination of this 'Initiative'.
"Well...in my world they're demon hunters, they also study and experiment on Demons, actually they are the reason Spike can't harm humans. They put this chip in his head which shocks him at such a painfully unbarable level it's extremely difficult for him to even hurt someone." But a stern look crossed her face as she continued, not wanting them to mistake these people for 'good guys'.
"But I don't like them, they abuse their power and mistreat even their own agents, they're like a secret military, some of their agents can be really twisted, some of them are demon half breeds, most are human though, very rare for a mutant to join." After aying that, she seemed done with her explination, because she didn't continue nor give the impression she planned on saying anything further, Dawn simply gave Lisa a questioning glance. They wouldn't have a secret demon hunting and experimanting military in their world...would they?
"Remind me to avoid any Military dudes or dudettes that know a lot about demons." She whispered to Lisa with a half teasing voice, but then glanced back at Cat, Dawn wasn't aware Cat was older then her by at least half a year.
"You having a party?" Rogue asked rather curiously after over hearing the comment on her birthday, she was eager to get off all these terrible subjects they seemed to have a habit of falling into.. She didn't care if she'd most likely be back in Lost Angels before Cat's birthday...she just wouldn't mind hearing about it.
'Creepy.' Was all Cat could come out with, but she still wasn't sure where she'd heard that name before ... she knew she'd remember at some point though and she put the thought out of her head for the time being, it probably wasn't important anyway. If Rogue didn't like them then she didn't, and the placed the word initiative in her ever expanding hate department in her brain.
'I will don't worry.' Lisa whispered back to her friend with a small smile though it was possible that is she knew then that she was going to be shot by one of those military dudes the next week that she wouldn't have found the whole thing quite so amusing.
'You having a party?' A party?! She couldn't really imagine herself having a party ... she'd had one when she was little, she could remember there was jelly and ice cream. It must have been her eighth birthday and she'd been to one of her friends a few weeks earlier, she'd come home insisting that she had to have a party as well.
'No.' She said shortly, she was going to spend the day alone somewhere, like she always did.
Lisa noticed a rather pained expression on Cat's face, her own showing concern for her newly made friend, remembering what Dave had almost said, but she gathered enough to realise that Cat wasn't one for celebrating her birthday ... maybe she was more of a Christmas person.
'You ok?' She said.
'Yes.' Came the curt reply, she wasn't sure what else to say, they seemed to have successfully killed the conversation and the group lapsed into silence.
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: Lisa's and Cat's rooms
Thompson stopped, the group of people had now moved from outside of lisa's room, and were out of sight. he silently signalled to Dave with his hands that he was going off to follow them, then reached into his pocket and produced a strange looking tool like a screwdriver, only the end was a funny shape.
Smiling slightly he dissapeard from Dave's view around the corner and headed quickly towards lisa's door, if he was going to spy on people then he was not going without a few things he had left on his belt. he reached the door and put the funny shaped end of the tool in his hand into the lock and pressed a small button on the side. There was a momentary rattling noise as the thing turned, then a click as the door unlocked.
quickly he walked in and grabbed the belt, his sword in its sheath slid off the polished leather, cursing quietly he left it and exited the room, he did not have time to fiddle around, the trail of thoughts would be growing cold soon.
locking the door the same way he had unlocked it he silently ran off up the corridor in the direction the people had gone, fastening the belt as he did so.
