Re: The Clearing: Green Strike Force
(There are many ways to set magic traps so anything you can think of could basically be done! Considering Michael was going to be stashed in a post or two anyway, I figured giving Ann a chance to leave right into things with everyone else by not having to wait an additional post… or something… so tell me if you want me to remove or edit things!)

“These things aren’t nearly as bad as they look,” If it hadn’t been for the insanely undernourished appearance of the boy Sin would have quite positively thrown at Michael what May was currently taking a bite from. Perhaps it was the astral projecting mutants optimistic attitude and upbeat personality but Sin was only becoming more aggravated towards the young man. The indifference May showed towards others was also directed towards Sin, which had always bugged him incredibly and thus increased his intolerance towards everything.

“Or maybe I’m just desperate.” A cynical remark was mentally whispered by Sin in reply and May’s lips twitched dangerously close to actually mumble out the words for all too hear. Hazel gems shut themselves away, forcibly willing her own self control to remain dominant and not allow for such slips that would only cause her problems. Somehow it wasn’t likely that she would make many friends if she started assaulting a handicapped boy. Not that Sin had any true desires to do just that, over time some of May’s morality had rubbed off on him to the point even terrifying old ladies just didn’t have the same kick it used to.

“Anyway while we’re stopped I’d like to say thanks to all of you for being so understanding about…..well everything.” Here we go again, another repeated ‘thank you, I’m crippled’ speech, did he honestly think them blind? They already offered to help, being a team that’s what they do, she’s long since accepted the burden of working with others, so why couldn’t he? Why must he repeated himself like a broken record? He can be grateful, sure, but not every ten minutes! The tips of May’s fingers tenderly rested on the center of her mildly aching forehead, half knowing that it wasn’t her own anger fuelling her thoughts but that of Sin alone which radiated the spiteful scorn. When May’s eyes finally flickered open Michael had passed both her and Lexi a look as he finished speaking, one of a thankful nature that only annoyed Sin further, despite May’s smile which tugged vaguely in the right corner of her lip.

“ I want you to know that if I’d realised we were coming on something as demanding as this today I would have stayed behind. I mean, I know I’m never going to be exactly on top form but things are especially bad at the moment and I’m not dumb enough to think I could pull this off in the state I’m in.” Carefully the slender arms folded themselves across her lap, cross-legged and staring with boredom at the ground directly in front of her. “Don’t laugh now, but when you talked about a team outing I was expecting something a little….. calmer. School trip. Science museum. Visit to the zoo.” Which was the opposite of May, the webslinger hoping for something more thrilling and action packed after her months of solitude in the school. Even Sin’s mood shrivelled at the onslaught of depression, the remembrance of the old days where she was relentlessly hounded on all sides by all forms of evil and how she handled each and every one till she was victorious or as close as one can call some of the unfortunate outcomes.

“I don’t know, but definitely not this. Still I can’t deny that I did use my ‘irresistible charm’ to talk Dr McCoy into letting me come along, so I have only myself to blame.” By now May was completely out of tune with them, remember such past encounters as Angel Face, the impostor Spiderman who ultimately returned her once suppressed powers. Granted at the time she had to be thrown into a live generator which was – needless to say – quite a ‘shocking’ experience, however it returned to her she had been missing.

“Anyway here we are, so tell me. Are things always this exciting at the institute or” Pulled out somewhat from her thoughts with the sole desire not to relive her past that was no longer even the past, May lifted her eyes over towards Michael as he spoke, “did I just get lucky?” …Like many other things ‘lucky’ apparently is in the eye of the beholder.

"Bit of both," Turning her attention away once more, May focused on some distant unseen spot obscured off in the far reaches by wayward branches and scatterings of brushes or imposing tree trunks. "The training missions are always quite the surprise. I remember my first one. Our leader didn't give us any hints so I was completely in the dark about the whole situation. I'm just glad I didn't wear my sandels that day," With that, May’s extremely slender frame rather unceremoniously collapsed backwards, though she herself was silent during the movement, her body made a slight thud on the floor as her back and arms made contact. Although eating when she desired, May’s form was highly effected by her powers, on top of being fit and healthy, so it can sometimes give the appearance of poor eating habits. The long legs of the young woman lifted simultaneously from the ground so that her knees where bent and her feet flat on the earthy floor, hands shortly after moving to rest over her stomach as she shut her eyes yet again and opted for a moments rest in the lingering minutes that remained. The thumb of her right hand which rested over her other discreetly began to rub over the small easily unnoticeable hole that produced her webbing. Always a sensitive area it could get irritated easily when thins rubbed against it though also most commonly had a somewhat calming effect on her if it was messaged, though it was also a highly ticklish area due to the sensitivity and as a result she has never allowed others to touch her there.

Off in the distance where the other part of the team assigned as scouts were exploring, Scott found he could go a simple casual pace that was both relaxing and freeing since it allowed him to focus on more things then just his navigation … such as his companion. This was important to her, as it was to him of course, but there was something so strong inside of her that was reacting to the current situation, and this importance was one of a positive aspect.

“It seems different somehow,” The wandering gaze returned to the enchanted beauty near him as Tessa spoke, “being in this form together I mean. I’ve transformed before but I still think of being like a human as natural and I’ve never flown with another faerie before.” Never? Scott’s heart sank for her, he may enjoy this world greatly but he adored his own and the only reason he stayed here was because for once he had people who he could talk with and interact with that didn’t expect either so much for him or worry over every little thing he doesn’t do as well as a Prince ought to as well as concerns for his ultimate safety which leave him usually locked away in the castle. “When we get back, after this mission is all over I’d love to know about faeries, you’re the first link I’ve had to my past”. And she had no idea how great a link to her world he truly was, the Prince’s lips struggled between torn thoughts before he merely allowed them to melt into a smile, his eyes to captivated by both the joy of finally having the company of another fairy and worried that if he looked away she would mistake his body language for a negative respond to her questions.

“That is, if you would want to.” Of course!! The chance to speak with someone of his home was a long desired one, and one he feared would bore any that were forced to endure his raving speeches brought on mostly by nearly unbearable homesickness. It was the sudden disappearance of Tess at his side that pulled Scott to an instant stop, the Prince turning his head to stare at the entrapped female two meters away. The magic, Scott could feel it, it basically soaked the air, how could he have missed it? Like a fragrance drifting around it was easily detectable for the Prince, the fairy scolded himself in the very core of his mind, though at the moment all that mattered was seeing if Tessa was alright.

“A trap,” The field around her refused to allow his hand to pass, but as she spoke her concern and worry subsided to some extent and thus lowered the need for the Prince to simply rip down the fields at all cost. “One of the teams must be by and I’ve just run into one of their traps.” Diamond stones of pure crystals cautiously looked around for any team members other then his own who would even dare lay a hand on a defenceless fairy while he was around. It didn’t feel like the game they all made it sound as when one of his own people where put in this state, raised by humans or not, Tessa was still a fairy, and even if there were other Kings and other princes around the world, in THIS part of the land it was his family to had greater priority over their kind, and he wouldn’t offer Tessa any less of his protection just because she’s never seen another fairy before. And woe to any who dare even attempt to try and test his reserves on the matter.

“I’m alright but I’ve been caught and I don’t think I can be sprung so easily.” Already the stones at the base of the trap were undergoing an intense stare, it was perfectly simple to break the spell if you knew how to do it, however the stamina needed to withstand the barriers defensive spell often keeps wiser folks from trying to remove one of the stones. “Scott you have to warn the team to be on the lookout, there’s some team around here they’ll have to be ready to fight.” Leave her? The look of concern was evident and yet Scott threw a reluctant glance over towards where they had come from. It wasn’t that far away, true, but his nature was so adamant that he not leave any in harms way. Even if this wasn’t really dangerous for her, this was preparing them for the real thing, if he was in a woods alone with her and she were trapped like this, he would not leave her so willingly.

But what of Michael? Was it fair to put him in grave danger simply because Scott refused to leave Tessa for a risky moment? Sending an animal off to warn the others wouldn’t be entirely productive, they’d only by intuition figure out that one of the fairies may have sent it and from there they would not know for sure what dangers are around them until they rendezvoused with the fairies.

"Upon our return we shall dismantle the trap and release you," The certainty of that fact rang on his voice with a sense of authority and urgency, not for a moment allowing the thought that perhaps by the time they return the other team would have taken Tessa into captivity. If they did touch her, then they would have the wrath of nature and those that dwell within it upon them!

The hast in which he left was almost instantaneous due to the need in which he had to return, the sooner he warned the others the quicker they could arrive to Tessa’s rescue, which was only amplified with importance by the fact she was one of his people. Why did such factors have to make him so passionate, he didn’t realize it wasn’t that he felt it was more important to protect her, he was just more emotionally responsive instead of the level-headedness he usually attempted to face matters with.

Scott alerted Lexi to trouble from this distance the only way he knew how, transferring the sense of concern ahead of his arrival, not enough to be more then that that sense of ‘something’s wrong’ that drifts in the back of the mind. Allowing it to die so that it didn’t effect her too much, but fairies learned the hard way that when trying to communicate with those who can’t see them it was easier to manipulate their emotions to alert them to things. The petite form of graceful flyer re-emerged within the small clearing, the golden tail of fairy dust streaming behind him more noticeable then the body itself. The smaller form coming to a sudden stop before Lexi, fluttering level with her eyes and wasting no time for polite formalities.

"A team lies hidden in these parts, they have set traps in the area, and Tessa has been caught within a magical snare that I can not easily break without assistance." The troubled feelings brought on by this scenario were perhaps more then obvious as Scott lost his joyful gleam and had taken on the more serious persona of concern. He didn’t care if these were games, the first time he was alone with Tessa and she gets caught, what does that say about him as a guardian? How could he watch out for her and for countless others in real devastating moments when he could not do the same during a game?

The elegant voice of the prince ay not be as strong as it was in his human voice but it still carried easily on the area to reach May’s ears, the young woman more alert for the fact it meant there was finally going to be something for them to do.

"Michael, let’s get you out of sight." The suggestion came as May sat up, effortlessly standing to her feet without any need for her hands to assist pushing herself up. A few strides to where he was sitting by the tree carried May over towards him, her eyes glancing over towards Lexi incase the leader before continuing with her task at hand. She wasn’t stupid, some things just needed to be done, and if Lexi had different ideas, then let her speak her mind or keep them to herself, Michael needed to be stored away, that’s already repeatedly been made clear, so why should she wait for the inevitable order to ‘hide him away’?

Offering a helping hand to get the boy up to his feet, by body language alone making it clear for Michael to leave his crutches for the moment and instead just hold onto her for support. Her hazel sphere’s peered upwards to the above tree branches, giving a content smile before dropping them once again to meet Michael’s.

"I’ll get you nestled in nice and snug, no worries." A faint flicker of a smirk crept into the corner of her lip once more, her hands supporting Michael’s body by resting beneath his arms while of Sin’s tendrils reached not only for the branches above, but to securely and carefully wrap about the fragile form of the one in May’s grasp. The long red vines creeping from beneath May’s top soon lifting the two to the branches above. Now was the tricky part… how does she position him? Putting him in a way that hurt his leg was not really a thought she was comfortable having, surely he’d be wise enough to assert the precautions of adjusting his body comfortably once she sat him down carefully on the thicker branches and resting him against the trunk.

"I’m going to use webbing to secure you to the tree, the other branches ought to obscure you enough from view so all we should worry about it keeping you safe from falling. My webbing is bio-degradable, meaning in a few hours it will start to deteriorate," Since it was obvious they wouldn’t be leaving him in the safety of a tree for hours on end, she added with a slight smile, "for future awareness." The branch was thick enough to support his entire body, which considering it was so thin wasn’t too much of a challenge. May’s own body was being suspended by the tendrils which supported her weight in the tree by holding onto the branches around her and allowing her to work with out worrying about restricted mobility.

"Ever wondered what a fly feels like?" The soft humour was offered offhand as her wrist was aimed towards the boy’s waist, releasing a stream of webbing that wrapped about both the body and the trunk though she was carefully to restrain the webbing, keeping the flow light so it wasn’t binding his body too tightly. A whip like motion of one of the tendrils caused a scattering of leaves to fall over the sticky webbing, a faintly playful look on her features before she gave him a lightly mocked farewell solute with two fingers. "See you on the field." At least it wasn’t as easy to see the patch of white against the trunk if someone should stroll by here and look upwards, sure it wasn’t likely, but it was always better to be safer then paying for the lack of care later when something goes wrong.

Re: The Clearing: Green Strike Force
"Thank you May, I think that would be most helpful and Scott, Tess, if you don't mind scouting ahead in about ten minutes I think we'll walk on for that long and then we'll have a rest."

It was as expected a very uneventful ten minutes and Ben was slightly upset that his conversation with May had ended before it had really had the chance to start. He shrugged; he was just going to have to keep at it. He really did want to get to know his team mate a bit better. She was the only one of the group he had trouble understanding and this intrigued him. It was unusual for him not to be able to get a vague idea of what someone was like and he was not used to being so completely shut out. His empathy towards others had nothing to do with his mutant powers, he just had a kind of gift for it and it was something he was good at.

As for the others in his group he had a vague idea of what was preoccupying them at the moment. He had spent time with Michael that day and had seen the young man’s determination and kindness and saw now that the young man was bending all of his will on making it to the rest point on his own. Ben smiled; he had no doubts that the two of them would easily become good friends. Looking over at the fairies it seemed to him that Tess and Scott were totally taken up with each other and although they had no problem handling the team mission situation it seemed that what they would really like is some quiet time together. And as for Lexi he admired her, it appeared to him that seeing as this was the first team she had ever been asked to lead she was focusing all of her energy on that task.

As they reached the spot where they were to stop for a while the others all settled themselves on the ground but Ben preferred to stay standing for a bit. He walked over to a tree and dropped his pack at its base after which he stretched the sore muscles in his back and leaned against the tree’s trunk. His gaze came to rest on the ground by his feet and his mind temporarily went blank. As his body relaxed and his muscles lost their tension his mind was brought back to reality as a not in the tree dug painfully into one of his kidneys.

He looked up again to find that May was sat staring at a spot in the air in front of her seemingly staring of into space just as he had been doing. He wondered what she was thinking of and had just about made up his mind to approach her again when Lexi got up and headed towards the two fairies.

Ben smiled, there really was something slightly different about those two… but he had trouble admitting it was magic related. It was not that he did not believe in magic, it was just that with mutations it seemed that magic had lost some of its wonderment in his eyes. And the fact that he had a scientific mind that attempted to analyse everything to death did not help. So as Scott unfurled his wings and colours cascaded of them all Ben’s mind saw was a complex pattern of photons and darklight.

"If you wouldn't mind flying ahead and keeping an eye out for other teams and for any traps that would be a great assistance,"

It would indeed be useful and it would give the fairies an important job to carry out. It seemed to him that they needed something to boost their self esteem and prove to them that they were an important part of the team. He smiled again; he wished someone would do that for him.

But there was this nagging worry in the back of his mind: would they be ok? They seemed so entranced by each others presence that he could not help but worry that they would put a foot wrong. He couldn’t bring this up with Lexi as it would tear the team apart. The fairies would never forgive him for not trusting them and Lexi may start to question her own judgment so he decided that he better leave well enough alone.
In a vain attempt to distract himself form his thoughts he looked away from the departing fairies and over at Michael, which was as it turned out a mistake.

The other mutant was busy looking over at the fairies and had momentarily forgotten that Ben knew what was contained in that little box he was holding so delicately. Ben knew it had to be some kind of drugs as it had been given to Michael by Doctor McCoy. He frowned, Michael was obliviously in more pain that what he was letting show on his face… how were they going to make sure that he made it to the end of the mission? It was still a very long way and by the look of the map the terrain was not going to get any more favourable.

It just seemed that there were so many things they needed to sit and think about in order to make this mission work and regrettably by the looks of it none of the questions he had raised so far had any easy answers.

They still had at lest fourteen miles to go and they could travel no faster than two miles an hour which left them with at least seven hours of solid walking and that was without counting on bad terrain, the need for food and encounters with other teams. It was already well past mid day and they could not travel at night it would be to dangerous… at what time did the sun set already? He sighed, by the looks of it today they were going to have to concentrate on making at least another four miles and if possible gather enough food for tonight and tomorrow. That way they could concentrate solely on walking during their second day.

His thoughts were interrupted by a sudden feel of anxiety, something somewhere was wrong…
His gaze shot around the clearing as his heart beat increase but Lexi, Michael and May were all still in the place they had been a minute ago. His gaze came to rest once again on Michael in case the other mutant was in some kind of distress; but he seemed fine although Ben saw the same worry he was feeling reflected in Michael’s eyes.
So it was something else, was it?

Ben did not have the time to set his mind at work on the problem before it was answered for him… in the form of a panic stricken Scott.
"A team lies hidden in these parts, they have set traps in the area, and Tessa has been caught within a magical snare that I can not easily break without assistance."

The word magic rang a lot of bells in Ben’s head; magic implied Dawn and Dawn meant what was it again? Something strike force he couldn’t for the life of him remember what its name was as he could only listen to Dawn talk for a certain amount of time; darn he wished he had paid more attention to what she had said that day. He couldn’t even remember if she had mentioned anything more than the name of her team but right now that wasn’t the point, he wished he could have supplied Lexi with some information about this team but it just wasn’t there.

The next though that came to Ben as May went and picked Michael up was that they hadn’t yet asked how far this trap was. There was no use storing Michael’s body here if Tess was trapped further than two miles away because Hood couldn’t go any further. And was Lexi going to send Michael out as a scout to find the exact location of the team members or did she intend for them to go charging in and just take it as it comes? Surely they were going to try and take as little risks as possible?

He knew how he would play it if it was up to him but in this case it wasn’t and he had to trust Lexi’s judgment and offer his advice where he thought it important.

“Scott how far do you think it is to this trap?”

He had come over to stand beside Scott and Lexi so that they could hear his question. He knew that this was the important question to ask as Lexi did not know as much as he did about Michael’s powers and Michael himself was busy being suspended in a tree. And he hoped that the answer would be something less than two miles or May would have to get Michael down again.

Re: The Clearing: Green Strike Force
Lexis reply reassured Michael somewhat. At least now he knew that he wasn’t the only one ever to have been taken by surprise by the Institutes rather unorthodox training missions. The other team members didn’t join in the conversation though, May falling backwards to stretch out on the ground a look of boredom on her pretty face and Ben….. well he had that worried expression Michael was starting to become familiar with, as if he was trying to work out some particularly challenging maths problem without having all the data.

*I wonder if its me that’s throwing his calculations out*Michael thought with a hint of concern. Ben had been with him when the doctor had handed over the box of medication and Michael was sure that he was intelligent and sensitive enough to have worked out what they must be for. Still that was a problem for later and the astral mutant was just about to ask Lexi for some more precisions about the rules of engagement so to speak surrounding the mission when a wave of real anxiety suddenly hit him.

Startled he looked up to see the same expression in Ben’s eyes and, turning back towards Lexi, his gaze was drawn to the shining trail of light that Scott projected as he made his entry into the clearing. It was obvious that the emotion was coming from him, its reason clear as he explained how Tessa had been trapped.

So the real mission was beginning. Already the team had proved they could work together but could they do so under combat conditions? *Well that’s part of what we’re hear to find out* Michael said to himself resolutely.

While he understood and shared Scott’s concern for Tessa yet he clearly realised that she was in no real danger. Training might be tough but it was still only training. It made everything a lot less stressful. Even if they got things horribly wrong all they would lose was a little pride, not the life of a team mate.

Still Michael had no intention of getting things wrong and he didn’t think that the others had either. If he hadn’t taken the mission very seriously he’d have given up back at the plane rather than force himself to come this far, and that attitude wasn’t about to change now. *This might not be for real but lets play it as if it was. Lets show them what Green Strike Force is capable of*

May was already on the move "Michael, let’s get you out of sight." she said as she gracefully got to her feet and came towards him. He had no arguments with that. The sooner they got him safely hidden away the sooner they could stop worrying about him and get down to the real problem of freeing Tess.

May offered a hand, pulling him to his feet, his crutches left untouched on the ground beside him, supporting him effortlessly as she looked round for a place to put him. Michael tried to keep all traces of pain from his face as he stood there, following her upward glance with dawning realisation and not a little trepidation. "I’ll get you nestled in nice and snug, no worries." she said with a slightly mischievous smile, her eyes so close to his own as she held him tightly in her strong grasp.

Suddenly red spider like tendrils seemed to crawl out from her slender body, some wrapping themselves round Michael while other reached skywards, securing themselves to the overhanging branches and slowly beginning to lift them both into the upper regions of the tree.

Michael had seen May use the living matter before when they had been in the danger room, assuming they were part of her mutant abilities rather than an alien symbient. Still it took a conscious act of will to hide his concern as the unknown substance flowed across and around his body. However it held him gently but firmly, allowing May to raise him smoothly into the foliage. Once they had come to what May obviously deemed to be a suitable branch he felt himself released from their grip and lowered onto the sturdy wooden support.

He could see the wisdom of this course of action but still he felt particularly vulnerable suspended so high in the air. If something went wrong it was clear that there was almost no chance of him being able to get down safely by himself. *Nothing will go wrong* he told himself. *We’ll get Tessa and be back here in no time There’s nothing to worry about.*

He tried desperately to find a relatively comfortable position on the branch, failing miserably as usual, but hiding his discomfort as best he could so as not to slow down the whole procedure for something that couldn’t be helped in any case.

"I’m going to use webbing to secure you to the tree, the other branches ought to obscure you enough from view so all we should worry about it keeping you safe from falling." may said.*Yeah that would be nice* he thought looking down through the braches at the ground which seemed horribly far away*I don’t think I bounce and I don’t want to put it to the test *"My webbing is bio-degradable”May went on, meaning in a few hours it will start to deteriorate," No doubt she caught the faint look ofalarm in his eyes as she swiftly added with a reassuring smile. "for future awareness."

"Ever wondered what a fly feels like?" she asked, smiling at him from her own web of red tendrils that anchored her to the tree and he felt the sticky fluid fly from her to surround his body, effectively binding it to the tree trunk. Visions of Frodo in Shelob’s lair flashed through his mind before he realised the further problems that this situation raised for him.

Certainly he was securely held something for which he was sincerely grateful, but the box of drugs with its precious painkillers was now inaccessible, lost beneath the snug strands of webbing that May had cast around him, disguising them whimsicallywith a dusting of leaves. *

*We wont be away long enough for it to matter* he told himself again. *While I’m out as Hood I wont feel anything anyway and when I get back……well I’ll deal with that when the time comes. I had just better pray that everything goes well. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t is there?*

At least he seemed to have managed to hide his concerns from May, which was what mattered for the time being. She gave him a jaunty salute just before she left him. "See you on the field." she said, her friendly camaraderie doing much to restore some of his confidence. She didn’t doubt that he would play his part in the up and coming action and neither did he. "Aye, see you down there" he said and slumped over as Hood flew free

Ooc: Alrighties Chels, here’s the post you wanted! Though I’m sure you wanted a better one >>..
Sorry it’s not up to scratch…not really in the posting mood last few days, scary as that sounds :(
Perhaps we open a new topic where Silver Strike Force can interact in as well, the next one to post
(I’d assume that’s you Lady?) would be appreciated to start the thread.

While May organized Michael Scott’s eyes seemed intently focused on the blonde boy. It wasn’t fair on May, and it wasn’t really justified, but Scott couldn’t help the nagging distrust and fear towards the human who wore the symbol of a spider. The eight legged menaces were dangerous and aggressive towards him for little reason other then they just didn’t like the Prince and his bloodline. Or any fairies for that matter. The many show of stress was not fear for Tessa’s safety, no one would hurt her, he understood that, but that didn’t mean he failed her any less. The stress was towards his own stupidity, the lack of care and attention on his part lead to her captivity and if this was real and the other teams their enemies, Tessa’s life would be in grave danger.

“Scott how far do you think it is to this trap?”

It was the first time Ben had ever addressed Scott, so the Prince stared by with something resembling a stunned expression before he subdued it and focused once more on the matters at hand. The small fairy was still rather clueless on the human terms for distance. The Fairies may know the human language but that didn’t mean it was the language they favoured in their Kingdom. The ancient tongue was still popular and the had millennia’s to gradually learn how to speak the human words. Which was still surprisingly universal amongst the Mystic Realms.

"300-350…dilsa… perhaps?" The foreign word rang from the tiny lips like an elegant echo on the air, yet uncertainty tainted the exquisiteness as Scott tried to put the human term in place of the ancient word to describe the distance relative to a ‘meter’. Scott was never fantastic with distances, they usually explained things by using examples and he was horrible if he wasn’t paying attention on trying to calculate how far he was travelling. For all he knew it was anywhere between twice that or half of it, a slightly stressed frown creased his forehead, if only he paid more interest while being tutored all those centuries ago, he was sure he knew the human word at one point.

"It is not too far," He settled on explaining it with simplicity of such a statement, after al, it hadn’t been more then five, possibly six minutes since they left the group. And the fairies had been additionally keeping a look out for anything edible. Michael had explained his powers well enough, Scott wasn’t entirely sure of the exact span of distance two miles were, but he was pretty sure it was a fair distance…

At Lexi’s command the young Prince began to escort the group back to Tessa’s location.

Re: The Clearing: Green Strike Force
<<OOC: Okay this is a short (*snorts and thinks yeah right to self*) post to finish things off and then I'll post a new topic for Green and Silver SF to interact in. I have no idea what to title the thread so if it should be a certain thing like stage cleared or whatever then just tell me and I can change it.>>

Lexi didn't realise right away that she was being alerted from a distance. She did feel the sudden concern that came upon her though and set down the snack she had been chewing with her brow furrowed. Had she forgotten something important? Had they stayed too long in this one area when they should have been moving on? No there was nothing to be concerned of so why this overwhelming sense of it. In a moment she knew, the concern had come from an external body, most likely from Scott since she didn't think Tessa could do such a thing.

He emerged from the woods a few seconds later, coming face to face with the redhead and before he got it out she knew that this had something to do with the female faerie on the team. There was no other reason why he would have returned alone that she could ascertain.

"A team lies hidden in these parts, they have set traps in the area, and Tessa has been caught within a magical snare that I can not easily break without assistance." Scott sounded different, not his optimistic and bright self and that worried Lexi who quickly stuffed the snack into her backpack and began to pack the few things that she had taken out hurriedly. As she made ready to leave their temporary camp Lexi was aware of May assisting Michael to get out of sight. There was a glance in her direction as if wondering about approval but Lexi knew this was needed and that May had been right in taking the initiative here and she let May do what she had to.

“Scott how far do you think it is to this trap?” Lexi glanced over and saw that the question had been asked by Ben who was standing beside her so as to make himself heard. When Scott's somewhat confused answer seemed to indicate that it was not far Lexi did the only thing she could, she trusted him with the distance. They hadn't left that long ago and although other than brief glimpses of Scott and Tess she had never truly seen a faerie fly a great distance still she didn't believe that Tess could be that far away.

"Let's go," she said with as much authority as a young woman on her first mission could muster. It wasn't an order worthy of a Star Trek Captain from what little she remembered of the classic television shows from so long ago but she didn't have their experience, or as great a script writer. With that Lexi swung her backpack over her shoulder and started out, this time at a faster pace than the one they had been travelling at before. If there were teams around then it was neccessary to get to Tess before they found her and they could only do that by picking up the pace and by following Scott.

There comes an age when people have to take over responsibility. It remains the question whether there is also a time when they can get rid of it again.
