Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
It felt like forever, the time growing almost to a standstill, he had gotten a light beer, gloomily taking constant sips from it and bluntly ignoring any attempt others might have made to try and talk with him. He was in mid-sip of his drink when suddenly arms wrapped around him and startled, he gave a small cough after a bit of the beer went down the wrong way. His first instinct was to pry the invading arms away from him, but there was something familiar about those arms, he tried to peer over his shoulder and caught a glimpse of Catherine's half obscured form. What on earth was she doing, maybe she took some form of pleasure in having him feel close to her and then shoving him away.. and then when he leaves all upset for her to come and make it all better again before shoving him off.

"You can't not accept something because your afraid of losing it, because you can lose anything, and sometimes it's better to have it and lose it, then never to have it at all." Alright, maybe he was slightly drunk, he's already had a few drinks of that vodka, lime and lemonade drink, two at the table, one here, plus his beer. So he tried to shake off his gloomy thoughts and see why exactly she had latched herself to his back. Wigging around, he managed to stare at her, resting his arms on her shoulders as she clung to him, ready to tell her off for always doing this, but hesitating as he caught a glimpse of her teary eyes. Why had she been crying... had someone hurt her? He glared instantly over towards Max but the school bully was busy with yet another date that seems to have appeared at his side. When he stared back at Catherine, his eyes wondered over to her earrings and the two necklaces about her neck, one being the one he had gotten. Was she upset because he got upset, he didn't understand her, why did she have to be so confusing?

I wanted to be like you
I wanted everything
So I tried to be like you
And I got swept away

He glanced over towards Angela who had begun to sing once more, his eyes shifting back to Catherine, why was she holding him like this, what was she so upset about? Why was she here, why did she have to always follow him if she didn't want anything to do with him? It really hurt, she was here, holding him again, in tears, but still, her arms where around him even so. Slowly his arms followed suit with her own, moving around her back and just holding her, but still rather distant since he wasn't sure why she was here with him.

I didn’t know that it was so cold
And you needed someone
To show you the way
So I took your hand and we figured out
That when the tide comes
I’d take you away

Standing slowly, Riley's body practically pushed her back just back trying to get to his feet, but he seemed to sit back down rather quickly, whether by his choice or because he lost his balance was extremely difficult to tell. His gaze was staring down for a moment before tilting his head back so he could look a little up since Catherine's eye level was just a tiny bit higher then his when he sat. His hands taking up Catherine's as if trying to stop her from hugging him, his hands though slowly moving her smaller ones to his shoulders so she wasn't leaning into him.

If you want to
I can save you
I can take you away from here
So lonely inside
So busy out there
And all you wanted
Was somebody who cares

His hands slipping from her ones he laid them upon his shoulders and moved then towards her hips, his body inching forward slightly. One his hands moved off her hip and travelled up to her shoulder, his fingers gliding across to her neck and gently resting partly on her cheek, his fingers tucking behind her ear.

I’m sinking slowly
So hurry hold me
Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on
Please can you tell me
So I can finally see
Where you go when you’re gone

The young agent pulled Catherine gently towards him, his other hand wrapped around her to hold her, she had held him when he was upset, when he was drugged and not in control of his emotions. So he owed Catherine his time, he wanted to comfort her like she had comforted him.. but holding her like this meant so much to him.. so much more then simple comfort. Why couldn't she look past his faults and just accept him, he could be a good guy if he tried.. he could be normal..

If you want to
I can save you
I can take you away from here
So lonely inside
So busy out there
And all you wanted
Was somebody who cares

He thought about the song Angela was singing as he held Catherine against him, her head tucked away now against his shoulder, his hand now resting on the back of her head. She had saved him hadn't she? Saved him from a life of captivity, of drugs, of nothingness.. couldn't she let him save her from a life of loneliness.. She looked alone sometimes.. he was alone.. couldn't they both just keep each other company, why did she have to push him away.

All you wanted was somebody who cares
If you need me you know I’ll be there
Oh, yeah

His fingers gently stroked the back of her head, his eyes closing, he had been so upset with her letting him do this, and yet he was holding her again, fully knowing that once they part there as going to be some sort of fight or argument or long moment of silence between them... He knew he'd be upset when she walks away, he knew he'd be upset if she yells at him, or rejects his gifts once again. But he didn't care right now... this moment of being content was worth the following pain..

If you want to
I can save you
I can take you away from here
So lonely inside
So busy out there
And all you wanted
Was somebody who cares

Staring now down at her neck, his fingers stroking aside her hair, his hand holding her hair away so he could see part of her shoulder. Leaning down slightly, his lips hovering dangerously close to her skin, she smelled so nice.. but so familiar.. it was the same smell from all the other times he's been close to her.. It was the same smell on the shirt that he thought had the scent of his forgotten love, but it was Catherine's.. He had held her in the Military base hadn't he? He had picked her up and helped her up the elevator shaft because she was hurt and he didn't want to see her struggle when they had armed men after them.

Please can you tell me
So I can finally see
Where you go when you’re gone

It was the scent of the one who held him when he was scared, the one who sat with him when he was alone, the one who danced with him when he was lonely.. It was the scent of the one who'd take his hand when he reached out, it was the scent of the one who risked her life to save him.. the scent of the one who he'd risk his own life to help protect. She held him when he was sick and stood with him when he was left alone, she stayed with him when he had no where to go and talked with him when he had no one to speak with.

His lips lightly pressed down against her skin, why did she have to be so wonderful, so kind, why did she always have to be there. She was his best friend and that's all she seemed willing to be and he couldn't help but demand more from her and the thought saddened him. But as he opened his eyes, he leaned his lips away from her skin, he didn't mean to do that.. his lips tingled at the sensation of having touched her skin.

Turn it inside out so I can see
The part of you that’s drifting over me
And when I wake you’re never there
But when I sleep you’re everywhere
You’re everywhere

This song was familiar.. it was the one Catherine had sung wasn't it? The one he had wanted to hear again... he wanted to dance with her to this song.. it was the first one she ever sang.. And part of him wanted to be selfish and think she just might have sung it to him.. his eyes closed his hand pulled her away from him slightly, his hands resting upon the side of her face, leaning his own forehead against hers.

Just tell me how I got this far
Just tell me why you’re here and who you are
’cause every time I look
You’re never there
And every time I sleep
You’re always there

Would it be wrong of him to fall in love with another after devoting himself to one he cannot even remember, one who was not here for him? Would it be so terrible just to have a single kiss.. would it be so vile for her to just give him a chance, for her to over look his 'perfections' and realize he was human and he wanted.. no, needed, someone there for him to hold.

’cause you’re everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it’s you I see
You’re everything I know
That makes me believe
I’m not alone
I’m not alone

His mind was just a blank fog of simple desire, just the want for him to be wanted, just the wish that someone would look at him, and they'd reach out.. and they'd just hold him.. but he wanted them to hold him like how Catherine did.. he wanted them to smell like her, to have her eyes, to have the tenderness of her skin and the strength of her heart.

I recognize the way you make me feel
It’s hard to think that
You might not be real
I sense it now, the water’s getting deep
I try to wash the pain away from me
Away from me

Maybe he wanted her to hurt him, if she'd then let him be close to her like this, she wasn't pulling away, she was letting him be so close.. These moments of joy where enough to get him through the long moments of pain, the simple touch enough to delight his sense long enough for him to survive with her at a distance.

’cause you’re everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it’s you I see
You’re everything I know
That makes me believe
I’m not alone
I’m not alone

Riley could picture even inch of her face in his mind, his hands having soaked up every detail with every touch his ever given her. His hands slipped downwards from her cheeks, resting on her hips, pulling her even closer, more firmly against him, his lips keenly lingered in the area of her own.

I am not alone
Whoa, oh, oooh, oh

With Catherine he wasn't alone, he could make it so she wasn't alone as well, they could both stop being alone.. he didn't want to be alone. '..I'm terrified of being alone again...' He had said that right? It was true.. so why couldn't he have her, she was perfect for him.. she was everything he wanted..

And when I touch your hand
It’s then I understand
The beauty that’s within
It’s now that we begin
You always light my way
I hope there never comes a day
No matter where I go
I always feel you so

Softly pressing his lips against her own, one of his hands having moved back to her cheek and seeming to rest against her skin as if keeping her still for his kiss. His hands moving off to rest on her hips once more, this felt familiar, this.. this moment.. this act, this all felt familiar. His lips moved away, his eyes still remaining closed, it felt terrible to be away from her lips. His right hand hurriedly move to rest just beneath her ear once more and gently pulled her towards him, his lips finding her own once again.

’cause you’re everywhere to me
And when I close my eyes it’s you I see
You’re everything I know
That makes me believe
I’m not alone
’cause you’re everywhere to me
And when I catch my breath
It’s you I breathe
You’re everything I know
That makes me believe
I’m not alone

Slowly he dared to take a deeper kiss, just the motion alone was familiar, comforting, his mind not registering the commotion going on around them. For him, everything was dark, everything was different, the area was different, the room was different.. but Catherine, himself.. this feeling... it all felt so right and so normal and so perfect. The door to his room was locked, he didn’t want Joan or anyone to come and take her away. Suddenly the blast of music from around them reached his ears and he opened his eyes, pulling his lips away from her, then staring at the bar and slowly glancing around. Staring now down at his hands he quickly looked up at Catherine appearing slightly disorientated by everything around him.

You’re in everyone I see
So tell me
Do you see me?

Who was he kissing, was he kissing Catherine or the girl he couldn't remember? What was he doing, did he only want to hold her because she reminded him of that girl, but she wasn't his forgotten love, she would have said that she was if they where seeing each other. Maybe part of him was hoping that she could replace that girl he loved, how dare he do that to Catherine, say he is falling for her and still be in love with another.. But he loved her as well.. didn't he? He was so sure, but now he was confused, she had said he mad her angry, he shifted uncomfortably in his seat as he saw Cody moving towards them.

"I'm sorry Catherine.." Withdrawing a $20 note from his jacket's pocket that lay on the bar beside him as he stared at her and then rather distressed downwards to the ground, dropping the money on the bar before letting his fingers rest on his temples. If he explained that he was part drunk and completely confused would she forgive him, his eyes looked over towards Cody who was now distracted with talking to Angela who's now done singing by the looks of it.

"I just want to be a normal date Catherine, I don't like how awkward it gets between us, I want to be allowed to hold you, your hand, to have you close, I want tonight to be the night where I'm just allowed to pretend that we're not alone and that we have each other.. Everyone else gets to hold someone.. I'm not like you, I can't have anyone I want.." Because the one person who's wonderful enough to meet his high expectations finds herself growing angry with him because he's too 'perfect'... whatever that means.. Tomorrow they'll go back to just being friends.. but he just wanted that little more from her tonight... was he being too selfish?

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
"You can't not accept something because your afraid of losing it, because you can lose anything, and sometimes it's better to have it and lose it, then never to have it at all." When he spoke she shifted her head that little bit closer to him, he was going to push her away wasn't he, didn't he see? couldn't he feel it in her arms, that she'd already lost him and even though she was standing here with her arms around him he was still lost to her. She just needed him to give her a chance, that was all she wanted, just a chance. His arms moved to her her shoulders and she closed her own arms tighter around him as a response but his hands slid around her instead of pushing her away.

She felt him try to stand, pushing her backwards, his arms still wrapped around her, but he seemed to change his mind and he sat back down again. She felt him remove her hands from around him .... she felt all numb inside, didn't he understand that she just needed to hold him for a bit even if he didn't hug her back. She didn't know how she was ever going to tell Lisa she'd lost the girl's bag, but if she hid over here for a bit with Riley then she could delay telling her friend just that little bit longer. But he was moving her hands onto his shoulders, she looked across teary eyed at him, wasn't he going to say anything comforting?

One of his hands drifted to her hip and the other curled around her neck .... what was he doing? Why was he holding her like his, at least she wasn't crying anymore, she still had tears in her eyes but they just served to make her eyes look extreemley bright in the light of the night club.

I’m sinking slowly
So hurry hold me
Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on
Please can you tell me
So I can finally see
Where you go when you’re gone

She was hardly paying any attention to the sining in the background, for her at the moment there was only Riley and herself and she didn't want anyone ese to intrude upon their privacy. His hand snaked heround her waist to her back ad he pulled her against him, her arms now pinned bewteen his chest and her front. She could feel his fingers shifting to rest behind her head, the tips of his fingers stroking over her gentle curls.

Her head tipped forwards to rest against his shoulder, his warm breath stroking over the sensative skin of her neck, didn't he understand how it made her feel when she was this close to him. At the moment she wasn't sure if her legs were holding her up or if it was his hand.

Turn it inside out so I can see
The part of you that’s drifting over me
And when I wake you’re never there
But when I sleep you’re everywhere
You’re everywhere

The breath snagged in her throat as his warm lips pressed against the skin of her neck, sending a tingle down her spine at the contact .... he must like her if he'd kissed her? yes? .... but his lips had moved away from her neck, maybe he'd just meant to comfort her, or he was confused. She faintly recognised that this was the song she'd sung when they were abck in the hummer, he'd said she have a nice voice hadn't he.

His hands found themselves on her cheeks, his forehead resting against hers, why was he acting like this? did he still like her .... she could feel her heart fluttering wildily against her chest at such a thought. His hands wandered down to pull her against him, the way he was sitting meant she was standing inbetween his legs. His face was suddenly very close to hers, one of his hands shifting to rest on her cheeks, his lips pressing down against her own. Her eyes widened in suprise but she made no effort to try and pull away from him if anything she leaned in a little closer to him.

His hand dropped to her hip again, didn't he understand how she felt about him, what he was doing to her at the moment, he could have asked her to do anything and she would have complied without question. His lips broke away from hers, only for him to pull her against him once more. He tasted of lime and vodka in her mouth, not the usual Riley taste but it didn't matter becuase her body was still responding in exactly the same way.

She felt him deepen the kiss as she shyly returned the affection by pressing her lips back against his, she just couldn't believe he liked her, her heart was hammering fit to burst beneath her rib cage. But he suddenly pulled away from her, her eyes opened to look acoss at him .... had he changed his mind?

"I'm sorry Catherine.." Sorry .... for what? ... kissing her, had he changed his mind? or maybe he didn't like kissing her, maybe he'd never meant to kiss her in the first place .... but then why had he done it. I'm not like you, I can't have anyone I want.." She looked suddenly like he'd slapped her around the face .... so did that mean? ....

'So ....' Her words were slow and hesitant. 'So you don't want me.' That was what he was saying wasn't it .... so just then when he'd kissed her he hadn't wanted to kiss her it was just he didn't have anyone else to kiss. She wanted to step away from him, to yell, to shout, to hit him but she didn't seem to be able to do anything but just stand there. She didn't want to move away from him, didn't he understand how much she wanted him, didn't he see how happy a simple kiss from him had made her. How could he give her an affection like that and then withdraw it again.

She looked so lost for a minute, she didn't like tonight, nothing had gone right, but then it never did did it? all her dates were disasters. But she'd wanted this to be different because it was him, but suddenly she felt so drained and all she wanted to do was to go home.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
"I like this too." That knowledge pleased him greatly, he enjoyed the fact she was enjoying herself, it was a new experience on his part.. doing something 'enjoyable'. But there was a slight change in her mood, her eyes shut and then peered up at him, he wasn't sure what was wrong. He could feel her body gently tug away from him, he froze, he didn't understand now what was happening. He could feel such sadness flowing from within her, what had done to cause her to grow so suddenly sad? He took a small step away and his head tilted to the side rather confused as her tears began to swim softly within her eyes. He didn't understand the need for humans to cry, the only times he's ever cried was as a child after being hurt, so had he hurt her?

Mandra's symbol glowed brightly upon her cheek and her expression seemed hurt, sad, confused and distressed over something. Her eyes skimmed across the area, returning to him once she seemed to have spotted what she was looking for.

" I.... I'm sorry.... I.. I need to.... I'll be back, Jarod...." The young telepath watched rather puzzled and at a loss as Mandra turned and hurried off towards a door, her form disappearing into the room that had a symbol of a girl upon the door. He blinked, then slowly glanced about him, all the bodies all shifting so closely nearby, he didn’t understand, why was he left alone? He didn't like it any more, it was too loud, and the people where too many, he could almost hear the pounding of his heart over the thunder of the music.

Turning around as someone bumped into him, he turned around again to stare towards the door Mandra had disappeared into. Was she coming back? He wanted to call for her, but she was upset, he wasn't sure why only he didn't want to pry into her mind. If he just stood here, would she come back for him? He wanted to go home, he wanted to go somewhere safe, somewhere quiet, somewhere where there wasn't so many people, people where dangerous.. he was left alone with people and people could be dangerous..

"I'm not anybody.. I'm not anybody.." Jarod shut his eyes and whispered softly to himself, it was soothing, it was the only way he could survive the years in A.Corp. His only other companion that he new about, the other Pretender that he saw three times in the past few years, didn't find a way to calm himself, Daniel Turwin was as a result slightly insane. But Jarod discovered as a child, if he pretended that he wasn't real, the pain around him couldn't hurt him as much. He was a pretender after all, pretending is what he did best, he could pretend to be anyone he wants, anyone but who he really was. He could be placed in any environment and with the proper books study to fit in perfectly with the people around him, cop, F.B.I agent, school teacher, music conductor, hit-man, assassin, if it existed, he could pretend to be it.

Placing a hand gently over his face, he ignored the times people could bump into him as he stood motionless awaiting the return of Mandra, if he left, moved away from this spot he had been holding her, where would he go? He didn't know how to get back to the school, he didn't know where it was or how to get there. And between here and there, what if Cole or Blake find him, surely they know he's left the school, they always know everything.. if he wonders off on his own.. would they appear and take him away?

Jarod's dark brown eyes opened and stared over towards the door Mandra had vanished through, if she didn't return soon, would Cole and Blake still come for him even if he was surrounded by all these people? Maybe he didn't want to be no one anymore, maybe he wanted to be someone... Jarod Xavier, it was going to be the hardest pretend of his life because unlike all the others who had information about them, Jarod was a blank slate that had to be created by himself and those around him. Jarod didn't pay any attention as a speaker stood up on the stage, his eyes remaining solely focused on the door Mandra had gone through. The voice of the man called out, his hand motioned towards a young dark haired woman.

"Next to preform is Miss Bethany Connors!" At least the people around him had stopped moving so much, everyone waiting to see whom the new entertainer was and what she was going to sing.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
'So ....' Riley glanced up at her, she looked upset, she was mad with him having hurt her with his kisses, he was so stupid.. His lips had her taste about them and his mouth tingled and he wanted more and she was standing so close to him..

'So you don't want me.' With a blink he just stared at her.. what was she asking him? He was about to ask what exactly she meant by that, but Cody appeared rather upset at them having wondered off and Riley stared rather blankly down at the shorter boy as he stood from his stool. It was amazing, Riley was pretty sure the guy hasn't smiled once even though his girlfriend was up on stage singing wonderfully.

"Where have you been?" Cody seemed annoyed at the fact he had to look for them, Riley's reply was pointing down to the ground where his feet where and then at his seat, mumbling 'here' and 'there' with each point. Cody stared at him rather unimpressed before asking rather bluntly to the taller and without a care if he sounded rude.

"Are you drunk?" Cody watched as Riley grabbed up his jacket, then replied rather simply, but his reply caused Cody to feel as if Riley was just making fun of him.

"I wasn't when I arrived.." Deciding it best to ignore Riley, Cody turned over towards Catherine, glancing over towards Max and then at Angela as he talked. Riley didn't pay attention to what Cody was saying to Catherine, one of his hands moved away from his brown leather jacket, the very tips of his fingers touching his lips.

"I'm taking Angela back to the school, we're getting a taxi, you guys wanted to come with us, her manager's paying for the cab, otherwise you have to pay for your own later." Cody was so distracted with his own eagerness to get Angela home that he neither noticed nor cared about whatever it was he interrupted. Riley however seemed content in focusing on Catherine for the moment and thinking over what she had said.. did she want him to want her?

Still paying no attention to them, taking a step towards the bar and studying a donations box sitting in front of the money register, bolted down to the bar and also had small chains wrapped around it with a tiny padlock. Turning his eyes over towards the bar tender who was snatching up his $20 and opening the register, Riley forgot about his money.. As the bar man held out the change, Riley held out his hand and watched as he put a collection of coins within Riley's palm. Riley then seemed engrossed in simply dropping one coin in after another, he didn't want to leave.. he wasn't ready to just give up on Catherine yet...

His eyes slowly moved over towards Catherine as he dropped the remainder of his coins into a 'Starlight Wish Foundation' donations box. He wished he could put more, letting children have a final wish before they die... but then he wished Catherine would tell him a wish.. what would someone like her wish for.. Could he ever fulfill a wish she made? He knew she could meet his wish.. just for her to hold him like she had before... Why did he pull away from her? If he stayed holding her would he still be in her arms now, now he wished he didn't let go of her.. You know what.. HE was HER date.. he was allowed to hold her, he should be allowed to kiss her.. right? He wasn't sure if Catherine had replied to Cody's suggestiong, but he watched Angela who was talking with Dawn rather happily at the table now, she didn't appear as if she was ready to leave.

He moved over behind Catherine, staring down at Cody over her head, why wasn't he helping Angela, she was really excited about this and yet he seemed to just want to get back to school. Angela and Dawn had appeared, Dawn wasn't too pleased when Cody said he wanted to go and Angela just stared disappointedly towards the stage. Why was everyone suddenly here, didn't they have dates to be occupied with? His hands timidly touched her arms as he stood behind her, ignoring Dawn complaining with Cody about him wanting to leave so soon. Everyone was all around them, but Riley didn't care.. lowering his head slightly, his lips pressed against the side of her neck very tenderly. Maybe he didn't care if they stayed or left.. his hands slowly glided to her front, gently pulling her back against him. Of course he liked her, she just always yelled at him, told him off, got upset.. she SAID she got angry with him!

"I.. I have to believe in certain things within this world.. I have to believe that.. I have to believe.." He struggled with the memory, it was important to him, he didn't want to lose it, if he tried really hard to remember... His hands rested over her hands, holding them as they rested over her stomach.

"I want.. I need.. I really like you." Couldn't she tell he liked her, he held her more firmly, yet still gently, his hands engulfing the smaller hands of hers. His lips hovered by her ears, he wanted to kiss her again, he wanted her to turn her head slightly so he could reach the sweet taste of her lips..

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
"Next to preform is Miss Bethany Connors!"

Bethany just smiled as she sat her drink down and made her way up to the stage, this was a chance for her to in a positive way for her to release any negative feelings she had and considering she had quite a few but they were more or less feelings towards someone who was present in the club but already had someone for the evening.

As she got up on stage she picked up a nearbye electric guitar walking up to the mic she smiled and started in.

"Bethany:Well Im kinda a little rusty but lets see how this comes out."

The band behind her started up as she started to play the opening chords on guitar.

Hey boy, take a look at me
Let me dirty up your mind
I'll strip away your hard veneer
And see what I can find

The queerest of the queer
The strangest of the strange
The coldest of the cool
The lamest of the lame
The numbest of the dumb
I hate to see you here
You choke behind a smile
A fake behind the fear
The queerest of the queer

This is what he pays me for
I'll show you how it's done
You learn to love the pain you feel
Like father like son

The queerest of the queer
Hide inside your head
The blindest of the blind
The deadest of the dead
You're hungry cause you starve
While holding back the tears
Choking on your smile
A fake behind the fear
The queerest of the queer

I know what's good for you (You can touch me if you want)
I know you're dying to (You can touch me if you want)
I know what's good for you (You can touch me if you want)
But you can't stop

The queerest of the queer
The strangest of the strange
The coldest of the cool
The lamest of the lame
The numbest of the dumb
I hate to see you here
You choke behind a smile
A fake behind the fear
The queerest of the queer
The strangest of the strange
The coldest of the cool
You're nothing special here
A fake behind the fear
The queerest of the queer

I know what's good for you
I know you're dying to
I know what's good for you
I bet you're dying to
You can touch me if you want
You can touch me if you want
You can touch me
You can touch me
But you can't stop.

As the song wore down Bethany set the guitar down taking a moment to wipe her long Red hair out of the way the band started up again for the final number. So far her voice was right on key filled with such passion and pain whatever everyone else was feeling this was her time to shine.

I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
I don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure, of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)

I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired, so much more aware
I'm becoming this, all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

Can't you see that you're smothering me?
Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control
'Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart, right in front of you
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow, just caught in the undertow)
An' every second I waste is more than I can take

[Chorus:]
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired, so much more aware
I'm becoming this, all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

And I know
I may end up failing too
But I know
You were just like me
With someone disappointed in you

[Chorus:]
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
Become so tired, so much more aware
I'm becoming this, all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you

I've
Become so numb
I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
I've become so numb
I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be

Bethany went quiet as the song ended setting the mic back down she waited to see how the students present would react to her performance.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
"Where have you been?" Cat looked down at the ground as Cody marched over to them, why did he have to interupt their conversation just now? She could feel tears pricking in the coners of her eyes again, this night had stared off bad and was rappidly getting worse. She glanced over at Lisa who was sitting next to Dave leaning over to talk to him, it was obvious that they were having a good time, at least someone was .... for her the night was ruined. She could tell Lisa about her bag tomorrow, she didn't think she could face any more disspointments tonight.

He didn't like her anymore, couldn't he just have hit her, it wouldn't hurt her as much as this was. She wasn't looking at anything anymore, just staring off into space, her eyes staring down in the general direction of Riley's feet. Why did she feel like he'd just ripped her heart out. She watched as he dropped his change into the donation box then looked back at Cody.

"Are you drunk?" The words hit Cat's stomach like a bucket of cold water .... he was drunk? was that the reason he'd kissed her, not because he liked her or felt anything for her but just because he'd been drinking. She hadn't thought Riley was like that, wasn't it using someone doing that to them.

"I'm taking Angela back to the school, we're getting a taxi, you guys wanted to come with us, her manager's paying for the cab, otherwise you have to pay for your own later." She wanted to leave, even if she had of had the money to pay for a cab home for herself she'd still have wanted to leave. She could still feel his lips against hers, a ghostly reminder of something she'd never be able to have.
Catherine felt his arms slip around her waist, his larger hands covering hers, his lips pressing down on her neck.

"I.. I have to believe in certain things within this world.. I have to believe that.. I have to believe.." Since she was upset she didn't recognise the words he was saying, it wasn't fair, he should stop tormenting her like this it wasn't fair, if she couldn't have him he should stop holing her because it was hurting.

"I want.. I need.. I really like you." He didn't even seem to really understand what he was trying to say since he kept starting what he was saying again all the time. Her eyes closed slowly, she couldn't cry, she wouldn't let herself, not while she explained this to him.

'Stop it.' She said rather tearfully, trying to pull away from him but not suceeding since he was much stronger than her and seemed to want her to stay where she was. 'Stop it, your drunk.' There was the sound of a sob but she wasn't looking up at him anymore. 'Don't tell me things like that because you'll just want to take it back in the morning.' Her bottom lip was trembling slightly. 'And ... and I wouldn't want you to.' The last words had dropped so low he could miss them in the noisey night club, her eyes lifted to find Cody's face. 'Cody I don't wanna stay here anymore, I wanna go home.'

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
the sound of an electric guitar starting up grabbed daves attention for a moment, all the songs before had not been to his taste really, he recognised the songs being sung now, but couldnt tell from where, he had a lot of music like that back home and could play most of it himself.

since he had arrived at the club he hadnt really said much to anyone, it was his first date with lisa and he was very nervous, which was usualy acompanied by random uncontrolled power usage - in short he changed form occasionally, not a good thing in such a crouded place.

He allowed himself to stray his gaze away from lisa and the surrounding people for a while, the club was familiar, he had been here before on his way to the school with Jarod. as he looked around he thought he caught sight of him, he wondered how he was getting on but his mind wandered again as he looked back to the group he was with.

with a sudden feeling of stupidity he realised that he had not yet bought his date a drink, nor did he have one himself. he gently tapped her on the shoulder to gain her attention "would you like a drink" he pointed towards the bar with one hand while rummaging in his pocket for his wallet with the other "i'm buying"

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
She was in the bathroom, sitting on the floor with her back against the wall and sobbing into her hands, not knowing why. She knew why she was in the bathroom but not why she was doing this... She was in here because she didn't want Jarod to see her like this.. She was also scared that she would see that other man in his place again. Mandi managed to calm herself enough for the tears to stop and for the symbol to dim back to normal. The trembling continued though...

Mandi stood up slowly and walked over to one of the sinks, rinsing her face off with cold water to rid it of the signs of earlier tears that had been shed. She dried her face gently then stepped back to look at herself in the mirror. The evidence of her crying was gone form her face and that made her feel a little better. She was still confused about where that pain may have come from.. One moment, she wa scalm and enjoying herself with Jarod.. then the next the strance occurance had happened.

There was movement behind her and her eyes widened slightly in fright as it stepped up behind her in the reflection of the mirror... It was that man again... He was holding her from behind and smiling lightly. Mandi immidiantly jumpped and whirled around but no one was there.... It had been another illusion just like the one that had happened out there... Mandi swallowed back her emotions and backed out of the bathroom, sudenly feeling the urge to be around a lot of people and not be by herself.

Upon turning around to walk back to Jarod, she saw him standing there, the smile gone from his face and loking in her direction. Mandi felt terrible for leaving him like that and quickly made her way back to him. She didn't care who may be watching or how many people there were around them as she went up to him and hugged him tightly. Jarod bade her feel better... She didn't want to be scared anymore.

< I don't know what's happening to me.. I'm scared...... I wish I hadn't left Jarod alone like that... But I couldn't let him see me.... What's happening to me?>

She pulled closer, putting her face in his chest. Her body trembled slightly which was unwanted. She didn't like this cold feeling inside her.. She wanted to go back to being happy and warm like she had been right before those images... She pushed aside all those negative feelings in hopes that the warm glow would return... But she had to know one thing first...

< Jarod..... Am I going crazy?> She thought to him.

<.... Damn... I hope that ruining the moment isn't something I do often....> She thought to herself.

The Pretender could feel eyes upon him, but before he was able to search for whoever was looking upon him, Mandra's image appeared and her slender well-dressed form was making its way towards him. As her arms wrapped around his now tense body, her embrace rather strong, Jarod's reaction was delayed slightly before he managed to mimic her hug, only more gentle, placing his arms around her rather unsure of what was happening. He stared down at her as Mandra buried her face within his chest and held him even closer against her, a slight tremble running through her body as he held her. Was she cold? He didn't understand any other reason why someone would tremble really.. there were those times Daniel or Cole would get so angry they'd tremble with the rage, but she wasn't appearing to be angry.. And when he was really young his hands would shake when he grew very frightened of something, or normally someone, but what would she have to be frightened about?

Jarod could feel her inward struggle to force aside her negative emotions, but something was nagging at her, something he could feel she was having troubles understanding. He could feel she wanted to talk with him, his mind almost instinctively opening the link for him to hear her thoughts.

< Jarod..... Am I going crazy?> In Jarod's case, being insane meant violence, so since Mandra didn't seem hostile his first reaction would be 'no'. But he did a pretend where he was surrounded by insane people, they all acted differently, some where rather friendly, others didn't seem to know where they where most of the time. Mandra didn't seem like any of those, he wondered why she thought she might be crazy. He's never comforted someone before, he didn't know what to do, what if he did it wrong and just made her sadder?

"You're remembering things.." He wasn't sure if he was excited or depressed as he whispered the half question, half statement of his into her mind. But now he had a few more seconds to think about it.. he was definitely depressed at this news.. If she remembered all of it, would she want him to make her forget again, and if she wanted him to help her remember things.. then what should he do? He helped her forget, he can help her remember, but then she'd just want him to help her forget again, wouldn't she?

"You'll be alright.." Again he whispered within her mind, it hurt to know she was frightened because of something he has done to her, maybe he wanted her to remember, even if she grew angry with him for what he did to her. But then she'd be worse wouldn't she? Remembering how her husband had been murdered, remember how she wasn't even from this world, she wasn't surrounded by people she knew and who she thought was her adopted father had only just met her.. Jarod didn't want her to be upset with him, he was afraid of people when they where angry, but he was also afraid that she'd walk off again, what if she remembered before they returned to the school, what if she left him and he was alone again?

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
'Stop it.' There was a slight struggle only Riley was busy staring down at her rather confused to realize he was holding her in a way that made it hard for her to pull away. He wasn't hurting her, but his arms where locked around her, he frowned slightly as he tried to figure out if she was talking to him.. It seemed obvious that she was.. but he wanted to pretend that there was the slightest bit of chance that she wasn't..

'Stop it, your drunk.' So he wasn't allowed to hold her suddenly because he was drunk, but she could hold him, just.. not the other way around.. right, that was so fair!

'Don't tell me things like that because you'll just want to take it back in the morning.' How dare she say what he will or will not want in the morning, he wasn't drunk in the limo, he wasn't drunk down by the lake. She was just blind, no.. no one could be THAT blind, she hated him and this was her way to telling him to get lost. He let go of her, very angrily glaring over towards their table where Lauren, Lisa and the others where.

'Cody I don't wanna stay here anymore, I wanna go home.' Angela glared at Catherine, now Cody was going to complain if she didn't go with them, but she didn't want to go, only she didn't want to stay on her own either.

"Can't you guys stay a little longer?" Dawn wasn't very pleased with either Cody or Catherine, Cody wanted to leave, and Catherine seemed to tell Riley off for holding her, she didn't get it, isn't that what Cat wanted?

"I have to meet with a teacher at 9, I don't want to stay up all night." That wasn't fair, Angela stared at Cody, he didn't only have a meeting at 9, he didn't like clubs, he didn't like her singing in clubs, and he was just leaving because he was bored.

"Well then why don't you take Catherine back, the rest of us will go back when we want to." Dawn stared up at Riley who had been speaking, it was easy to hear him, but that was also because he wasn't very happy, there was a rather insulted tone within his voice that he tried to hide but wasn't doing it very well.

"I don't want her staying here on her own." Cody almost snapped back, upset at the idea that Angela would be left alone in a nightclub. Angela gave him a rather displeased side glance at Cody, folding her arms at him disapproving her to stay out with her friends just because HE wanted to go back home.

"It's not your choice!" Dawn yelled rather angrily at Cody who was acting as if he chose where, what and why Angela did things. Cody scowled at Dawn who was always yelling at him for things, but was shocked when Dawn grabbed Angela and practically dragged her off. Riley trotted off after them and dropping his jacket on the back of his seat before sitting, only then throwing Catherine a glare and not caring if she noticed or not. What right did she have ti hug him like that and then not pull away when he kissed him and THEN tell him off for holding her. Grabbing a glass, he pulled it closer to him and filled it with the coke Angela had gotten before, then as Angela placed her glass beside him, he also filled her drink up.

If Catherine didn't want to stay with him, fine, he wasn't going to mope about it all night, he glared down at his glass rather angrily at her having told him to stop it when he was just holding her. He glanced over at Angela and listened as she and Dawn talked, but then quickly looked over at Lauren, she hadn't seemed to be joining in much with the rest of the group. Riley leaned closer to her, placing his hand on the back of her seat to help balance himself more comfortably as he called out to her.

"Are you alright? You're not doing much with your date." Riley called out assuming that Heath was her date since he was a guy and he had arrived with her, Heath was busy staring down at the table and running his fingers over the smooth surface.

Riley(about Catherine): Every time I look at her, it's like there's no one else in the room but us..

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
< It could be that I'm remembering?... He scares me, Jarod... His image and what happens to me after seeing it.... I don't want that to happen anymore...> Why did his image scare her, he loved her, and she loved him, he didn't understand what love was but wasn't that important when two people loved each other? Wasn't that why she was upset, she didn't want to be without Gambit who was from another dimension where she's from, but he was murdered, brutally, terribly, by people she cared about.

<Please just hold me close and let it be just you and me...> The young Xavier stared down at the woman in his arms, he was holding her, but they where surrounded by many others, it could never be just them.. He didn't fully understand what she was asking of him, but for the very first time in his existence... he felt wanted.

<I want to push him away, I don't want to see him.> Maybe if Jarod explained who he was.. no.. she wouldn't like that, because then she'd want to know more about her husband and ten when she learned more she'd just want to forget again. He could help push away those thoughts... but did he want to keep her in the dark for the rest of her life about who she is?

<I only want to see you. Only want to be with you. You are so kind to me... You make me feel safe and happy... You feel so good to me, holding me and helping me. I just want to fade into 'us' again.> Staring down at her as Mandra looked up, it was so rare for people to look him in the eyes, the people at A.Corp always made him keep his gaze downwards on the ground. Her eyes where so bright, and she was looking at him, right at him.. he felt real. The young Pretender's arms held her more closely against him, gently pulling her body into his. Why did people hold each other? Because it was comforting? Because it made them feel differently when they held each other.. he felt different.. he felt safe, wanted.. he felt as if he also wanted to hold her closer, even though now she was held against him, he wanted to hold her longer, endlessly even.

She ran off before, he felt so lost, now she was back and everything felt so much better, he felt safer, he didn't ever want to let go. No one has ever held him before, he never knew he could be held like this, he never knew what being held could feel like.. it felt amazing. He also never felt wanted, or needed, and now she made him feel as if she wanted him near, no one's ever wanted to be near him, the demons always said how much they hated humans. Lowering his head slightly more, Jarod rested it against hers, he liked how she spoke to him, he liked how she held him.. he liked how he was starting to feel when she was close to him, he's never felt so cared for in his life and it was a wonderful feeling to have..

She felt a wave of calm pass over her and then felt Jarod rest his head against hers. The trembling of her body stopped and she was feeliong much better as if the images had never come in the first place. Her attention was now soley on Jarod... His breathing, his scent, his heartbeat.... him. The music playing in the room no longer came to her ears and she closed her eyes, loving the closeness. The smile that had evaded her earlier finally came to her lips and she felt the weight come off her heart. She was no longer feeling the fear she had earlier. There wasn't even nervousness remaining. Just the soft glow-like feeling inside from being like this.

" Thank you, Jarod.... I would be lost without you." She whispered into his ear softly but just loud enough fo rhim to hear her.

She felt like she had a lot to thank him for so she tried to express it the best she could in words.

" Thank you for helping me.. Thank you for coming here with me... Thank you for dancing here with me.. Thank you for your smiles, your looks, yout words, your care.. Thank you for holding me, for comforting me.... Thank you for you, Jarod... I really man it." She told him, eyes still closed.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
Looking over to Heath she smiled faintly, he really wasn’t used to the loudness of the music, she’d have to mention that to Beast whenever she sees him next, maybe tomorrow. Though she didn’t have a Biology class with him tomorrow but she did have a free and could always go and see the residential doctor then.

As Cody seemed to ignore her, Lauren narrowed her eyes a little, she was just trying to be friendly, the least he could do was say ‘hello’ back. Seeing Angela return, she was going to ask who the guy was but seeing him give her a kiss made her figure out that the two had something going on. After smiling back to Dawn she turned her head to look over at Heath as Dawn said ‘hey’ to him. Sure, Lauren didn’t know much about the medieval times, but she was sure that they didn’t go around saying ‘hey’ to one another, they were more formal, weren’t they? Seeing his puzzlement confirmed her suspicions, another thing she’d have to remember to tell Mr. McCoy.

She shook her head as Riley asked if he knew her, why would he ask such a question? Surely people knew who they knew and didn’t… but remembering that Angela had said he’d been through a lot lately she didn’t bother worrying about it. Sometimes when she had been doing a lot of things she’d forget about certain other things, maybe that was what was with Riley, obviously she didn’t know about what he had really been through. Lauren already remembered his name from when Angela had told her the other day, but just nodded as she read the dog tags since she didn’t hear him over the noise. At least he wasn’t rude and didn’t introduce himself, unlike Cody.

As Angela talked with Cody Lauren smirked faintly as Cody began sulking, take that for ignoring me! Her attention slipped away from the others when she saw the jug of coke, feeling thirsty she slowly poured herself drink. She had a habit of spilling drinks when she did things to fast. Seeing out the corner of her eye she felt as if Angela and Riley were talking about her, she wasn’t sure what they could possibly be talking about her for, but couldn’t help but feel a little uncomfortable.

"Lauren!" By now she had gone back to listening to the girl singing, but looked about as she heard her name being called out. Before her eyes got back to the guy who had called out for her she saw the nasty glare of Catherine. She quickly looked away and over to Riley as she figured it was him who had called her, feeling a little nervous from the glare, she hadn’t done anything wrong to Catherine, had she?

"We have practice tomorrow I think, I'll get the time and you come with us and we can all start our training together!" What training? Lauren stared at him blankly for a moment, before she slowly registered what he was talking about. Angela had mentioned something about getting her on the school team, X-Force, maybe that’s why they were talking about her, but wasn’t Riley their former leader or was replaced with another one for a short time? But if there was a temporary leader on X-Force for now, that meant it’s old leader was going to re-take his position? Maybe…

Lauren: "I’m on the team? Cool!"

She couldn’t help but grin happily. Today wasn’t too bad a day, she was now on one of the school teams and she saved a drowning Knight. Speaking of the Knight, Lauren looked over in time to see Heath take a sip from a glass of coke, she giggled a little at his reaction to the fizzy bubbles, though it wouldn’t have been heard over the noise. Yet another thing she’d have to remember, Lauren realised she was keeping a keen eye on Heaths reactions to how he acted towards modern day life. But she couldn’t be blamed, she really wanted him to be a Knight. It’d be so cool to know one, and if she wasn’t seeing how he reacted to things she probably would have began to doubt that he was really one.

Going back to listening to the music, clapping each time a song finished, until she noticed Angela and Dawn leave the table. She looked over to the group and noticed something go on, but she looked away to let them sort it out, after all, she wasn’t even involved with whatever was going on and shouldn’t have to butt in. As Angela, Dawn and Riley came back she was too busy listening to the next singer and was a little startled when she felt Riley rab onto her chair.

"Are you alright? You're not doing much with your date." Lauren didn’t have a date, who was he talking abou-… Heath. She looked over to him for a moment, watching as he studied the table. He wasn’t her date, sure she had taken him here but she hardly knew the guy.

Lauren: "He’s not my date… He’s uh…"

A Knight who somehow found his way out of the fourteenth centaury to Xavier’s… Somehow she believed that Riley wouldn’t buy the truth. Lauren herself, wasn’t even sure if Heath was a Knight at first, but now she was sure he was, imagination or not, there was enough evidence to prove it right.

Lauren: "He’s a new friend!"

Well that was true, wasn’t it? Well he wasn’t a complete stranger and Lauren had talked to him. She also knew stuff about Heath, though not much; like he was Knight, the year he came from was 1348, he’s polite, he doesn’t know many things about 2023… well when you come from that far in the past it’d be hard for anyone to know that sort of stuff…

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
She felt his arms let go of her rather quickly and she stumbled forwards since she'd been leaning against his hands. She didn't want him to speak to her like this and then just take it back again in the morning. Why was he hurting her, she didn't deserve this, a part of her had just wanted him to pull her closer against her.

"Can't you guys stay a little longer?" Catherine was close to tears, she didn't want to stay here any longer, nothing good apart from Riley kissing her had happened since she'd walked through those doors. She'd had such high hopes for the evening and they just lay in tatters around her feet now. But he'd only kissed her because he was dunk hadn't he? It might not mean much to him, or it might even be a game but to her it meant so much more, and jsut for a second she'd been able to beleive that he actaully did like her.

"Well then why don't you take Catherine back, the rest of us will go back when we want to." He .... he wasn't even going to come back with her, she looked away, what right did he have to toy with her heart like this. She felt like she didn't even know him anymore, he seemed like a completley different person.

She didn't even notice Dawn grab Angela and tug her off into the crowds of people, she was just staring at the man in front of her looking heat broken, she'd just told him in her own way that she liked him and he didn't care. She watched as he turned away from her, stomping off into the crowded room towards the table at the back of the room. Her whole body seemed to demand that he turn around and come back to her but he didn't seem to noice and sat down at the table, throwing her one frosty glance. He leaned fowards towards Lauren, putting one hand on the back of her chair, her expression froze as she watched him chatting to her. Fine if that was how he was going to be she didn't care, she just didn't care, but then why did it feel like he'd taken her heart with him.

She turned away, she couldn't stay here, if Riley liked her, she didn't want to stay anywhere near them, it wasn't fair, he belonged to her. Her hands reached up to behind her neck, slowly pulling off the concelled silver chain she was wearing, slipping off the metal disc that was stamped with Riley's name.

'Here you can give him this back.' She said in a rather hollow voice. Pressing it into Cody's hand, if there was nothing between them then she didn't need this anymore. If she was being at all rational she'd remember that Riley had only spoken to Lauren once in his life but she wasn't being. She looked over at him again before she turned around and walked off, her head drooping slightly. She managed to wriggle past the crowds of people who were still entering the club, the bouncers noticed her upset expression but they'd seen hundreds of girls leave their club upset so they didn't even give her a second look.

She wasn't sure where she was going because she wasn't altogether sure where she was and she wasn't even sure she'd care. Maybe she should go home for a bit, she really didn't want to stay here, she didn't think she could face Riley at the moment not after they way he'd acted. Her high heels tapped on the pavement in the dark street and suddenly it made her think of Lost Angels. She shivered slightly and her feet stopped, she was some way from the night club now, down the street and around the corner. The neon sign from a all nigh cafe buzzed slightly and flickered, she knew how stupid it was to walk around at night by yourself. She pushed the door open, there was no one in there so she slid onto one of the booths, her eyes looking up and down over the menu, before sighing and pushing it away from her. She could have ordered something but she hadn't have any money, she bent over and rested her forehead against her folded arms. She could still taste him on her lips and feel him on her skin even though he wasn't there any more.

Thats what she was going to do, she was going to go back and see Nina and Brad, they'd let her stay there for a bit, she really didn't want to go back to the school, not with Riley there, not at the moment. She could sort her head out while she was at Nina's and decide what she wanted to do, if she even wanted to go back to Xaviers at all. She slid her body out from under the table and made her way to the door, pulling it open and stepping back out onto the cool street. Lifting her hand to hail a truck which was coming down the road, she could just hitch a lift back to Xaviers.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
"He’s not my date… He’s uh…" The girl seemed to take a second to think over how to explain who Heath was, but then settled for calling him a friend. It was then that Cody's form loomed over them, he still didn't look happy, Riley frowned, couldn't Cody just smile once tonight? But then Cody's hand dropped a silver chain with two metal tags on it, exactly like the ones he wore about his neck. Riley's eyes stared down at them hard, his fingers touching the two tags on the table.. His name.. Catherine's name.. just like on his own tags..

'I don't like Riley that way, you can have him!' ... 'Riley? ... a dear friend? ... I don't think so ... I don't really like the old Riley much.' ... 'I don't care for or need your good opinion Riley, it makes no difference to me what you think ... but I sat here with you and promised you that I'd get you back.' ... 'But you are Riley and I will do anything to get you to remember who you are.' ... 'I like Riley.. I want him back.' ... 'I can bring you back, I know I can ... let me try.' ... '..she said emotional stimulus could bring you back.' ... 'But you are Riley and I will do anything to get you to remember who you are.'

Shutting his eyes as his mind was flooded with a burst of thoughts, his fingers from both hands exploring the feel of the tags. Something terrible felt as if it was settling within his heart.. so heavy and cold, empty and alone..

"I have to believe in certain things within this world, I have to believe that... my actions still have meaning... even if I don't remember them. He was whispering under his breath very softly to himself, but his heart was starting to race, he felt as if he was on the verge of panicking. His fingers picking up the tags and letting them rest in the palm of his right hand, his left hand finger touching Catherine's tag gently.

"I have to believe that when my eyes are closed, the world is still here, and that you'll always be beside me.. helping me remember." As Riley spoke, his hand wrapped the chain around his hand as his fingers then closed into a fist, the tags hidden within his grasp. His eyes stared down at his hand as he began to stand, still mumbling to himself, his eyes frantically searching for Catherine's form, for her soft wavy slightly curled hair.. Her red dress.. her amazing dark eyes.. anything..

"I don't think I could live a day without you.." He practically walked into Cody, who yelled for him to watch out, Cody didn't like how Riley just walked into him after he gave the necklace to him, not even a thank you. But Riley turned around and yelled very angrily at Cody who was rather shaken at his sudden burst of temper.

"Why aren't you with her? You're supposed to be with her!!" He suddenly got very scared, where was she, he didn't see her with that bag, did she even have any money on her? What was she doing, was she outside still? Riley rushed off, not caring if he bumped into others who stared at him rather annoyed for him just charging through them as he had done.

"Catherine!!" Riley's voice called out almost desperately for her as he burst out of the nightclub, his ears straining to possibly catch a distant reply that was her calling back to him.. There was a boy outside, and a girl who appeared to be on the phone, Riley paid no attention the guy with wings, mutants after all surrounded him. His right hand pressed against his lips, the necklace had a lingering warmth from having had constant contact with her body. But then his left hand moved to stroke distressfully through his hair as he turned about to try and catch a glimpse of her retreating form.

"Catherine! ..Catherine!!" Why couldn't she just accept that he liked her, why did she have to call him drunk, he wasn't drunk in the limo, he wasn't drunk when he kissed her for the first time.. And it wasn't here that he first kissed her, he knew now, he understood.. he figured out who she was.. her taste tingled upon his lips and burned within his mouth, the warmth of her body echoed against his and the beating of her heart could still gently be felt beating through him.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
She nodded in response to Dave as he offered to get her a drink, her eyes moving to the bar as she told him she'd like a diet coke. She caught sight of two figures, their lips pressed together, her hands upon his shoudlers his around her, pulling him against her. She smiled as she looked at Riley and Cat, glad that they finally seemed to both be getting on. She let her eyes travel back to her well dressed date, lifting a hand to make sure her hair was perfect.

'Yeah thanks Dave I'll just have a diet coke.' She smiled winningly. But the next moment her eyes were dragged back to the bar again and she found herself looking at Dawn yelling at Cody, a rather upset looking Angela and Riley and Cat seemed to be having some sort of fight as well. She gave a little sigh, why couldn't they all just be happy. She watched Dawn drag Angela back to the table, followed a second later by Riley, she looked back at the bar but Catherine had gone.

Just when things seemed to be working out between the two of them and now they didn't seem to be talking again, her eyes travelled after Cody as he made his way to the table, handing Riley something. The young agent seemed to stare down at whatever it was in his larger hands, it looked like the silver necklace he'd been wearing before.

Lisa could see his lips moving but she couldn't hear what he was saying .... all of a sudden he pushed his chair out and got to his feet. Almost walking into Cody who didn't look too happy, her eyes widened slightly in shock as Riley laid into the younger and rather suprised younger boy.

"Why aren't you with her? You're supposed to be with her!!" Who was he talking about .... Angela? But he seemed to suddenly run off, not seeming to care if he knocked into people .... Catherine? was he talking abot Catherine.

'I'll be back in a minute Dave alright.' She said getting to her feet. 'I'm just going to check on how Riley is.' She slipped through the crowds, avoiding one drunk boy who tried to reach out and slip his arms around her. The cool night air hit her almost at once, her eyes searing for Riley.

"Catherine! ..Catherine!!" His hand was running though his hair, he looked like he wanted to dash off up the street up he didn't seem sure what direction to go in.

'Riley? whats wrong.' She said walking up to him as quick as her dress would allow without riding up her thighs too much. She let her hand reach out and take hold of his upper arm, why was he so upset?

'Riley? what’s wrong.' He spun about as he felt fingers touch his arm, but it only hurt more when it wasn't Catherine's face staring back at him. But it was Lisa.. Lisa could help him right? Lisa can get Catherine back, she was her friend, she could get her to come back and be with him again. His hands quickly took hold of her hand that had rested on his arm, pulling it almost desperately towards his chest before dropping it and reaching for her shoulders.

"Make her come back, please Lisa, bring her back, she ran off again, she always runs off, and yells and tells me off, I don't understand, why doesn't she love me any more?" He pulled his hands away and covered his face, taking a step away from the younger girl. If he just screamed and yelled really loudly would she hear him, and even if she did hear him, would she even want to come back to him? He could smell her on his hands, he pulled them away slightly, staring at her name on the tag, lowering his hands level with his chest as he stared down at them.

"She didn't say she'll be back.. if I wait... if I stand here long enough will she come back to find me? She said she sees me.. if I wait, she'll still see me won't she? She said I could hold her, I didn't get to hold her forever.. she has to come back.. she has to let me hold her.." His hands momentarily held her tags close against his chest before raising his fist to the side of his head still highly distressed over her disappearance. He looked clear over Lisa's head as if waiting for Catherine to appear just down the street, but it only hurt more that he couldn't see her. What if she went back to the school somehow? But what if he left here and she came back and he wasn't here and he missed her.. what if she ran away and he'll never see her again, what if... what if he's never allowed to tell her he's still in love with her? Because that was the problem wasn't it.. he wasn't sure because he was still in love with the girl from the base.. but if Catherine was that girl.. then that made everything so much more easy.. he loved her.. he still loved her.. he will always love her.. so why wasn't she here, and why when he tried to show her how he felt did she ignore him and push him away by saying he wasn't really in love with her because he was drunk?

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
Lisa felt him pick up her hand and then drop it again, only to rest his hands against her shoulders, turning away a second later, it was obvious he was more than a little distressed and upset about something and since he'd been yelling Cat's name when he was standing outside she could only assume it was Cat he was talking about. Her dark eyes looked up at him with sympathey as his eyes looked around the street as if she might just appear from nowhere to come back to his side.

"Make her come back, please Lisa, bring her back, she ran off again, she always runs off, and yells and tells me off, I don't understand, why doesn't she love me any more?" His words were confusing her .... she didn't know what had passed between him and Catherine at the Initiative base so she didn't understand what he was talking about now.

"She didn't say she'll be back.. if I wait... if I stand here long enough will she come back to find me? She said she sees me.. if I wait, she'll still see me won't she? She said I could hold her, I didn't get to hold her forever.. she has to come back.. she has to let me hold her.." He sounded so lost. She put her hand back on his arm again.

'Riley ... calm down, I don't understand you, I'm sure she'd still inside, she's probably just on the dance floor or she's in the toilet or something.' Her voice was calm and collected as she talked, Catherine was in her eyes quite an irrational person. This was just like her to walk off, she didn't she understand that nothing ever got solved if you didn't talk about things? If she just kept running away from him they were never going to sort things out. She wondered where Cat was at the moment, she was probably sulking just around the corner or she was already sitting back at the table again.

But Cat was already in a truck, sitting staring out of the window so she didn't have to reply to the stream of babble the man who'd picked her up was suprting out .... he had agreed to drop her off outside the school so she couldn't complain too much. Her head moved to rest against the window of the rust red pickup truck. She could still taste him in her mouth and feel him on her skin and something in her lower body was well as her heart was aching for him. She sighed slightly as she remembered his stoney look as he'd stomped off. She just needed to get away from him for a bit, if he wasn't there then she'd stop thinking about him and desiring him so much.

Re: Dying Star Nightclub - The Special School Dance
He just shook his head at her statment, Catherine wasn't in the club, she wouldn't be.. she couldn't be.. he wasn't there with her, she wasn't allowed to dance with anyone else but him. She was his, he was hers, that's how it went, he'd never hold another girl and she wasn't allowed to hold another guy, she wasn't allowed to lleave him alone and he'll never leave her alone..

"She's not inside.." His hand shifted to rest on his forehead as lowered his head down, only growing more upset, even if he was appearing to become calmer.. There was something strangely wrong with his silence.. appearing so calm and yet ready to yell and scream at any second with the slightlest provoction from something or someone.

"I told her.. I can't live a day without her.. she has to come back.." His eyes darted over across the street as a girl came out of a taxi, she had Catherine's style hair and colour, but she was in a black dress, with matching black heels, there was no way that was her, it was also so short it would be hazidous for her to even lean forward. And yet Riley stared stubbornly determined to believe it was her, losing all hopes only when he caught a clear look at her face. He began watching the passing cars, especially the taxi's as if hoping to catch sight of her within one of them.
