Re: Where to store a vampyre?
A calm, polite voice sounded from the door.

"May I be of any help?" Circe entered the War Room analyzing the situation with a quick look around.

"I happened to be nearby and heard someone hitting a wall or similar" , she explained her eyes fixed on the sleeping vampyre.

"Yeah, good timing, Garnet. Jean's right, we should have an eye on Spike in shifts"

The southern belle glanced at Iceman who nodded lightly.

She smiled at Madison and Tessa saying in a bossy yet joking tone: "Alright, ladies, you're dismissed. See ya tomorrow at the training!"

Iceman turned to Circe: "If you like, you could have the first turn here. He" the ice controlling mutant pointed at Spike "mustn't be harmed or break out. He acts pretty insane from time to time so be cautious and don't let him leave the War Room"

Rogue went on, frowning a little.
"Ya sure you can handle it? If you've got the feeling ya need help, don't hesitate to get some! You mustn't tell any details though!"

The ebony-haired beauty nodded self-confidently.
"Yes, I believe it will not be of any problem. If he broke loose, I would form a cage of fire around him. Even vampyres have a survival instinct, I believe"

Bobby and Rogue exchanged a glance, both satisfied with the reply.
"Someone will come to relieve ya later on"
The Blue Strike Force leaders turned to the door but before leaving, the southern belle turned around once again, wearing a warm smile.

"Thanks, Aurora"

Circe nodded again, smiling lightly and sat down in one of the many chairs facing the wall of ice. She would give her best...

(OOC: 4of12, if you got time and want to have Bobby do or say something more, we could assume he's not away yet. For everyone else, I suggest to act as if the two leaders left. Everyone cool with that?)

Re: frozen inside...
Jean seemed unsure for a moment, but then nodded in agreement with the other X-Men.

Jean:"Fire normally works against them, take care Circe, and remember, call us if you need us, I'll make sure to keep my mind open incase you feel the need to call for me."

She seemed worried, but not over the vampire, more over the fact she already lost her son and she didn't want anyone else to be hurt.

Turning around, she made her way to the door, looking back only once to make sure everything was alright, and then disappearing down the halls.

Tessa looked over at the older X-men.
"So you think I should go and get some sleep and dinner and all, off team duty for awhile?" she asked, just wanting to make sure she was allowed to leave.

Re: frozen inside...
Since his ear was to the floor, Spike's sensitive hearing easily picked up the shuffling of feet and the whispers of voices that seemed to invade his icy prison. With a groan the vampire shifted position and turned his back to the remaining mutants, only barely picking up the mention of 'fire'.

But he didn't care, even if he was to end up being burned, he deserved it, he wouldn't complain, physical wounds heal easily..

He could hear people had began to leave, but he was already falling back asleep by the time the faerie had asked her question. His lifeless figure yet again remained motionless as he drifted off, not allowing the thoughts of what was to come tomorrow to keep him from finally getting some rest.

Re: Where to store a vampyre?
(OOC: ok, gonna borrow Frosty again ^-^ sorry, 4of12, for story's sake he has to leave! ...as has Tessa. Lady, if you want her to say or do something more, please just post it and we assume it was said/done before everything after this post here happened. Hope you dont mind...?)

Before Bobby followed Rogue out of the War Room, he turned again to answer Tessa's question.

"Yeah, you got some time off now! Till tomorrow morning, actually, so don't hesitate to take the chance"
The team leader put on his boyish grin.

"In times like that, you never know when you'll have some free time!"

With a "Till then" he left.

Circe smiled gently at the faerie.
"Don't worry, dear, just enjoy the evening. We have a wonderful sunset today, haven't we?" A little dreamy, Aurora looked out of the window, the crimson sun drawing contrasting shadows on her skin while its reflection made her eyes sparkle like rubies.

With a small sigh, she turned back to watch the ice cage again as Tinkerbell left.

It was her duty and she would fulfill it!
First one, then another hour went by in which the vampyre slept nearly motionlessly under the attentive eyes of Circe...

Re: frozen inside...
It was hard at first, with all the voices and movement in the background, but once all the mutants left it seemed sleep was easy. At first there was only darkness, deep and endless nothing, no dreaming, no memories, just peace and quiet....but soon the silence was broken by laughter..

~*---*~

Grumpily pulling himself to his feet, the vampire looked about the dark room, the only source of light came from a window nearby. He couldn't see anything else, but he felt the laughter was coming from outside, looking down at his chest, for the first time realizing he was probably cold because he had no shirt on.

He folded his arms, slowly moving towards the window, shivering slightly from the chill that seemed to be all around him. Peering outside the window, he had to squint his eyes, the rays of the sun almost blinding. But the laughter forced him to try and see outside, forced him to wait for his vision to return.

There was grass, endless fields of green grass, much like what he'd remembered of the ancient English plains. In clear sight, just near the building, was a tall tree, its branches creating a healthy shade from the sun.

The frown that creased his brow showed his displeasure as he discovered where the laughter was coming from, it was that mutant Rogue and that other guy, Bobby. Look at them...basking in the sun, gloating over their gift of being able to move freely about in the light.

Everything changed, he was standing under the tree, Bobby had disappeared and Rogue was there alone, sitting and simply enjoying the warm sunlight beating down upon her.

Rogue:"Ya gonna stare or come sit with meh?"

Spike kept his arms folded nervously trying to conceal his chest from her, it was freezing, why didn't she feel the cold?

Rogue:"You look like ya could use some warmin up sugah."

She spoke with a soft laugh, which caused the vampire to become more nervous then relaxed.

Spike:"I-I can't.."

He mumbled as he looked down at ground, staring at where the shadow of the tree ended and the sunlight on the grass began. The southern belle got to her feet, patted herself down, and then stood facing him, her body bathed in the sunlight still as he was shrouded in the shade.

Rogue:"Want meh t'go in there an' sit with ya then?"

She asked teasingly, and moved to step forward, but Spike held out his hand and shook his head.

Spike:"No! You won't like it here, it's cold."

Rogue:"Ah'm warm.."

Spike:"..Not if you come in here."

She smiled, her white fringe perfectly framing the sides of her face. The half naked vampire stared absent-mindedly towards her lips as she seemed to take a step towards him, he looked down at her, probably only a centimeter or two taller then the mutant.

He was transfixed, unable to move away, wanting to hide yet desperate to stay, his mind torn in a thousand directions with one single thought...

Before he realized what he was doing, he could feel the gentle warmth of her lips against his, everything inside him melted away, all the pain, the anger, the fear, everything, all that was left of him to feel...where her lips...

~*--*~

As he slowly opened his eyes, he had to cover them from the bright light that flooded the room, confused for a moment as to where he was, the vampire suddenly lifted his head and placed his hand on his chest to make sure he was wearing his shirt.

Dropping his head back to the ground in a groan of relief the rubbed his eyes with the palm of his restrained hands.

Spike:"Bloody hell...."

He mumbled complaining about, what he considered, an extremely embarrassing dream. The beating of a heart could be heard in the room, he slowly dropped his arms to the floor beside him and turned his head to the wall of ice that shielded him from the remaining mutant.

Spike:"..Well at least that answers why I was so bloody cold."

He complained as he sat up cross-legged on the floor, though the ice still didn't answer the question about the kiss...what on earth was that about!?

Spike:" 'Ello?"

Reaching out he taps his finger against the wall of ice a few times.

Spike:"Did I mention I don't like cages?

His tone was raised so she'd clearly hear him, though it hinted he was anxious to get out of the confined space. He looked down at his still restrained hands, realizing for the first time they where bent and out of shape, parts of it digging into his bruised wrists painfully. He frowned unsure why the iron was bent so out of shape.

Spike:"...So...what kind of mutant would you be then?"

He began asking thoughtfully in hopes of getting his mind off the thought of his confined and restricted cage.

Spike:"...Throwing wooden stakes that appear from no where? Spit holy water? Create blasts of sunlight? Lemme guess, able to burn vampires to ash in a single touch, or a flick of the wrist?"

He closed his eyes and blurted out with a little more stress in his voice, hinting that there was the possibility that he might suffer from claustrophobia, though if he did, the vampire wasn't aware of it.

Spike:"I really don't like cages!"

conversation piece
"Oh" Gracefully, Aurora rose from the chair she had been sitting on. "You're awake" She said gently and a soft laughter followed.
"My apologies for this unnecessary statement, dear"

After having brushed shortly over her long, dark dress, Circe approached Spike's icy cage.
"No one appreciates to be caged, I dare say, however, you are still more of a prisoner than a guest, sweetie"

The ebony-haired girl spoke matter-of-factly, just reminding him of his situation. She remained silent for a moment, examining the freezing vampyre with a concerned look.

"I would like to warn you. If I am forced to defend myself, your survival is rather improbable" She touched the glass like wall smiling a little.

"Your fourth guess was rather close except for one thing..."
Her eyes flashed of an inner fire as Garnet sent her power right to the hand on the cage.

"I can burn nearly everything to ashes and touching it just makes it easier.

I recommend you to step back. This will be of considerable heat" She warned him before a grid of flames spread from her outstretched hand.

Within a second, the wall of ice was nothing more than mist and Circe went back to her chair.

"Again, darling, you might want to consider what your body would look like after my touch. I neither like to be biten nor do I think of punches as funny"

Re: frozen inside...
"I would like to warn you. If I am forced to defend myself, your survival is rather improbable..."

He watched as her hand pressed against the icy wall.

"Your fourth guess was rather close except for one thing..."

Slightly tilting his head to the side as Spike continued to watch, his showing showing a lot of interest to discover what that one thing was.

"I can burn nearly everything to ashes and touching it just makes it easier......I recommend you to step back. This will of considerable heat"

The vampire sprang to his feet as everything began to grow extremely warm, pressing his back against the wall as he desperatly struggled to keep his distance. But as soon as his frozen prison was destroyed, the vampire couldn't help but relax, even if there was a mutant spewing flames from her hands...alright...he had to admit, that was pretty scary..

He stared as she moved over to her seat, hesitating to move for a moment incase she'd barbeque him.

"Again, darling, you might want to consider what your body would look like after my touch. I neither like to be biten nor do I think of punches as funny"

The vampire looked about uncomfortably, unsure what to say or how to react to her statement.

Spike:"A-Alright...but two things, see luv, you can't kill me with fire, granted....turns me crispy, an...an very painful, but wont kill me. Other thing, couldn't hurt you if I wanted to, humans are off limits, not allowed to hurt them, otherwise I get-get punished."

Stuttering a word here and there as he spoke, Spike tried to wiggle his wrists about into a more comfortable position in the restraints, but it only made it more painful so he stopped. After a moment of studying the girl, her proper upright way of sitting, her fancy talk, obviously someone of higher class...much like William the Poet once was.

Spike:"I wont hurt you."

His attention was focused on the window of the room, not at all thinking about escape simply parts of his dream flashing back into his mind. With a blink he returned back to reality, looking over at Circe and slowly, carefully without any sudden movements, moved towards the seat that was closest to him, where he quietly sat.

For a moment he just stared down at the table, but with his short attention span and the fact he easily gets bored, the vampire looked up at the girl.

Spike:"Name's Spike, who are you?"

He asked curiously in an attempt to break the akward silence.

Re: conversation piece
Spike:"I wont hurt you."

*Very much appreciated* ,Circe thought pushing her ebony mane back absent-mindedly.
She didn't mind sitting in silence while keeping an eye on the demon and watching the sun disappearing slowly at the same time.
Every evening it seemed to die without a chance to return and yet it rose again every following morning. It was like a small miracle. Did anyone else every waste a thought on it?

The vampyre's words broke the quietness.

"Spike:"Name's Spike, who are you?"

She turned fully to him raising an eyebrow.
"And... Spike would be your code- or first name? ... I beg your pardon, this was impolite. My name is Aurora Garnet Ferell but I am also called Circe"

Aurora remained silent for a moment thinking about something to ask the vampyre. Obviously, this Spike disliked the silence - but what do ask without
touching private subjects?

The blood-red sun was nearly gone and to gain a little more time, Garnet rose again. In a manner which made it look like floating, she went to one side
of the room and switched on the lights.

Re: frozen inside...
He paused for a moment, frowning slightly, since he was somewhat sensitive about his name at this point.

Spike:"William."

He retorted, slightly hurt yet not going to ever admit that, but then he relaxed a little and repeated in a more calmer tone.

Spike:"My first name is William."

He looked back towards the window, almost flinching as she turned the bright overheard light on. He squinted for a moment, then blinked a few times as he eyes ajusted.

Spike:"2597 days since I last saw the sunset.."

He stated quietly as he watched it disappear.

Spike:"That's what..?"

He asked himself as he did the sum in his head.

Spike:"Just over 7 years."

The amount of time seemed to suprise him, but he simply shrugged it off after a moment, his eyes lingering a while longer on the window.

Spike:"...Felt longer."

He whispered as he tore his eyes from the window and looked down at his bound wrists.

Spike:"..What are you going to do with me?"

His question seemed almost...distant, as if he was asking just for the sake of knowing, yet not really caring what that answer would be...

Re: conversation piece
"You haven't seen it for more than seven years?"
Disbelief and sympathy sounded in her whispered words. No one deserved something like that; not if he seemed to be such a peaceful creature as this man. As to now, Spike hadn't done anything that proved his demonic nature.

"Honestly, I do not know what will be done with you. I am just here to guard you, not to decide things concerning your future.
However.... if you don't mind the question, William, how can that be? Have you been imprisoned or why did you not see the sunset...?"
A thought occured to her "...or even the sun at all?"

Re: frozen inside...
"Honestly, I do not know what will be done with you."

He gave a slow nod of his head as she spoke.

"I am just here to guard you, not to decide things concerning your future."

Of course she wouldn't be deciding his future, he wasn't even deciding on his future...did he even have a future? The vampire seemed emotionless to her statment as he thought.

However.... if you don't mind the question, William,

The use of his real name caused the creature to raise an eye brow slightly and pay attention to what she had to say.

..how can that be? Have you been imprisoned...?"

Now there was an understatement...

"...or why did you not see the sunset.....or even the sun at all?"

He shifted about for a moment, swollowing a lump that formed in his throat. It was one thing to talk about it when he was insane, totally another when he was going threw one of his more level-headed phases.

Spike:"Imprisonment wasn't enough for what I had done.."

He whispered softly.

Spike:"I had to suffer...because of me..."

He paused, almost have to force the words to escape his lips.

Spike:"Because of Angelus we don't have a sun."

Once again he stared down at the table, refusing to accept that, it wasn't only Angelus, he had a hand in it as well...if he hadn't agreed to helping Dru in bringing him back, then Lost Angels would still be a bright sunny city...he had to be punished for the horrors he had caused in his past...

Spike:"I helped bring him back, she told me everything would be alright...and then he stole away the sun...and now he's here...and I'm just sitting back again, waiting for him to do whatever it is he plans on doing....I should be out there, stopping him...but I can't leave...I'm not strong enough to stop him."

There was a knock at the door of the WarRoom, Spike stood up and stepped back from the seat, as soon as Riley's form was seen that the door way the vampire seemed to back away behind the mutant, almost shielding himself from sight.

Riley:"I need to talk with it, alone, privetly.."

Spike:"Oh like that's goin' t'bloody happen, soldier boy."

The vampire scoffed, then quickly whispered from behind Garnet.

Spike:"..That's not going to happen, right?"

The Initaitive Operative moved into the room,

Riley:"Get away from her Spike!"

Spike:"OR what? You'll put a chip in my head, whoops, too late! Already done that haven't you? What's the matter, run outta play mates to torture?"

Moving within a meter of Garnet, the Agent once again demanded to be left alone with the vampire.

Spike:"Oi! Back off!"

He growled stepping between Garnet and Riley anxiously incase Riley tried to hurt her...

Riley looked at Garnet, she was absolutly refusing to leave to the room...but Riley needed that sample of DNA...glaring at the vampire, the agent lashes out with his fist, slamming hard against the vampires face who was caught totally unaware. Plus with his restraints he couldn't defend himself very well, staggering to the side, the vampire clasped his bound hands over his lips and nose.

Spike:"Sure! Beat up the bloody vampire who can't fight back!"

He yelled angrily at Riley as he glanced down at the smere of blood on his fingers.

Spike:"Least I got a reason for why I act crazy, I'm bloody insane! 1200 years of torture! What the hell's your excuse?"

Riley:"Knowing you're alive is the only reason I need!"

Spike:"Oh right, coz your have to save all them piggies and rats!"

He replied just as angrily over the fact he can't harm humans and refuses to drink any blood other then pigs blood....he only lowers himself to rats if he's been trapped down in the torture chambers for too many days..

Who the hell is THAT?!
As this boy with the commando tone entered just to attack Spike verbally while playing boss, Circe had a hard time fighting the stunning disbelief inside of her.

Shortly after, the vampyre she was in charge for was hit and she hadn't been able to prevent it. Sudden anger made her usually warm brown eyes glow dangerously as she spoke in a tone which could already be considered shouting.

"Who do you think you are to demand something? I am Circe, Mistress of the Flames, and I have not been told anything about someone being allowed to talk to William in private and I don't know in
which parallel universe you used to live but in this..."

With a few fast steps she stood just in front of Spike to protect him if necessary. A fiery corona began to sparkle around her.

"... one doesn't talk with the fists!"
Garnet knew this whole scene must have been appeared like a dramatic act and this was what she counted on. Sometimes, the theatrical methods were the best.

"What is it?" an alarmed voice asked from behind Riley. A confused look around followed as Tempest couldn't decide which of these persons was on his or at least the right side.
That guy with the bloody fist? The one with the bloody face? Or...

"Hey, I know you!" Kane smiled a little, glad he had recognized someone. "What's the deal?"

Against her habits - due to the rage she was in - Aurora just pointed at Riley

"Aggressor"

and Spike

"needs protection"

It was easy for Kane to connect the loose ends. SciFi boy had attacked the blondie and that hot girl played the heroine. It was more than logical who he would support.
With a judging look, Tempest examined the special agent, automatically evaluating his strengths and weaknesses.

Aurora decided to get right to the point. Manners could be dropped in such cases.
"So you got exactly two possibilities: Either you explain yourself or back off. Otherwise.."

The corona became a blazing yet rather cold flame.

"...you can apply for for the Kentucky Fried Chicken Special"

Life can be like a stone thrown in the sea. It creates waves, maybe changing something, maybe not, but no matter what it causes, every single wave will disappear into nowhere...

Re: frozen inside...
"... one doesn't talk with the fists!"

Riley:"Do you know what that thing is!?"

The agent replied angrily by the fact she was actually standing up for it.

The girl seemed almost a glow as she stepped between Spike and Riley, the vampire crouched low to the ground, his fingers cradling the cut on the corner of his lip then wiping the blood that trickled from his nose.

Spike:"Just like the old days, fist and fangs, fair fight, never know who's going to win, fight to the death, winner takes all...except this isn't fair...and I can't kill anyone.."

"What is it?"

The creature that once was a refined English poet, though his poetic skills where of poor quality, cringed as he studied the blood on his fingers.

"Aggressor"

As Garnets finger pointed accusingly towards Riley, he instantly answered the question he had asked her before.

"needs protection"

Riley:"Are you serious? It's a demon !"

He spoke as if that's all the excuse he needed to have done what he had done, looking back at Kane almost as if he expected the boy to agree with him.

Riley:"It's a monster!"

Spike slowly stood, looking at Riley over Circe's shoulder.

Spike:"It wont let me...metal, wires, silicon, it stops me from being a monster...I can't be a man..."

He frowned as he thought

Spike:"..I'm nothing.."

Riley:"You're a murderer!"

The operative replied angrily but was forced to step away as Circe began to talk in a more threatening tone

"So you got exactly two possibilities: Either you explain yourself or back off. Otherwise.."

Spike staggered away from her as the flames danced about her body, Riley refused to answer yet seemed to want to continue the fight.

Spike:"I can't hurt anyone!"

Riley:"That's because I stopped you, I should've killed you when I had the chance!"

Spike:"Right, but you didn't, I got away, haven't hurt a soul since...'cept for Willow...so you can sod off and leave me alone!"

Angrily Riley wanted to step forwards, but paused as he studied Garnet, stepping away, he turned to the new comers.

Riley:"That thing is the reason some of our students are missing! And you're all going to protect it? It said so itself, it's nothing! It's dead!"

Spike:"Back off!"

Riley spun around, glaring at the demon

Riley:"You'll never change Spike, unlike these people who you're fooling, I know the real you, I know what you are, what you've done, and with or without a soul, you are, and always will be, nothing but a blood sucking monster!"

With that, Riley pushed his way past the two mutants that had entered the room, making his way down the hall towards his room. Spike's angry growl followed after him as the agent moved away.

Spike:"But I can't change what I am!"

His scream when unanswered and he angrily stomped his foot too the ground like a stubborn child demanding to be heard. His eyes glared towards the door, his mind finally coming to a decision, Riley was right, he was a monster, he couldn't change what he was, and changing 'who' he was seemed to be far too difficult, no one would even give him a chance!

Jennifer:"If you hurt anyone Spike...I swear I'll never forgive you."

Spike:"This has to end.."

His human features altered, his now fanged teeth partly open as he gave off a small growl, his demonic yellow eyes looked over towards Garnet. Maybe the sunlight and fire can't kill him, but he's never been exposed to extremely powerful flames as the kind she describe she was able of doing.

With more then brut strength, with sheer determination, Spike bent and twisted the already weakened iron bar until finally his wrists broke free, tossing the tattered remains of his restraints aside as he lunged towards Garnet.

Grabbing her by the arm and pulling her back, he pressed her against the cold wall of the room, he pressed his hand against her lower neck, safely away from being able to choke her. The unearthly pain that screamed threw his head caused his snarls to sound more like animalistic roars, he found it almost impossible to keep eye contact with his captive, he was in so much pain he couldn't even threaten her...but he didn't want to threaten her, she stood up for him when Riley...oh god what was he doing? His face returned to its human appearance and he let out a painful scream as his other hand pressed against his head his breathing, although unneeded, was laboured, as if he was semi-chocking on the air in his lungs.

Spike:"This is what you want to protect! A murderer! A leach! I killed everyone! Even the ones I loved! I killed her! After everything she did for me I killed her!"

Mother:"Always will be a snivelling sentimental fool.."

Spike:"Oh god! Oh god! I hurt you! I didn't want to! I had to! Had to show you what I was, a monster!"

The other hand that wasn't holding her down, grabbed one of her wrists and forced her hand against his chest, her palm placed right over his unbeating heart.

Spike:"..I'm sorry.."

He whispered shamefully with a gasp and teary eyes.

Spike:"But you're right. No one 'appreciates' to be caged, and I'm a prisoner, I don't belong here, I died...I can't change....you helped me....help me again, destroy what I've become!"

He pleaded her, totally ignoring the presence of anyone else in the room, still feeling the ongoing echoes of the mind shattering pain that flooded his head.

Re: Who the hell is THAT?!
The sigh of relief that Circe released as Riley left stopped as her breathing in general when Spike grabbed her.

His demonic visage didn't scare or disgust her. Why should it? Every day, the girl was surrounded by people with blue, green and other skin colors, pointy ears, tails and fangs. The times when this was something to be afraid of were long gone.

Instinctively, a roaring flame made ready to erupt but before it could burn the vampyre, her conscious stepped in.

Spike:"Oh god! Oh god! I hurt you! I didn't want to! I had to! Had to show you what I was, a monster!
....help me again, destroy what I've become!"

Slowly, fixing the demon's eyes, Garnet shook the head.
"You are only what you make yourself. Neither do I not know what you have done in the past nor do I care. As I already told you, it is not up to me to decide anything and even if you killed hundreds in the past"

The ebonyhaired tried to stay calm thinking about it.

"now you are of help. You cannot undo it, you cannot even make up to it... but, William, you can try and do good - as they say - to ease the suffering of others.
Maybe I could kill you... however, as you asked me to do it, the term would be suicide - the easiest way to get out.
It would be like a slap in the face of those you made suffer. Think about it"

With that, she freed herself and sat down again as if nothing had happened. Her shift was not over yet.

"This is way too much for one day" Kane muttered rolling his eyes. As he didn't see any more danger for Circe - after all, she could burn that guy in a second's glimpse - he turned to follow that weird soldier boy.

"Hey, wait up!" he shouted running after him.

Re: frozen inside...
"You are only what you make yourself."

He blinked in disbelief, his eyes searching her face for any hint of deceit, how...how could she say that? After what he had just done? ...How could she see him as anything but a monster?

"Neither do I not know what you have done in the past nor do I care."

He tore his eyes away from, she would care...if she could see the faces, hear their voices, if she only knew the pain he had caused them, she'd care...

"As I already told you, it is not up to me to decide anything and even if you killed hundreds in the past"

She seemed to pause and think, Spike shut his eyes in a futile attempt to block out the pain, the hand that wasn't holding her wrist pressed against his head.

"now you are of help. You cannot undo it, you cannot even make up to it..."

He made a soft whimper at the statement, he could never make up for what he had done, and he could never be forgiven for the suffering he had caused..

"but, William,"

Again the use of his real name dragged his mind from the insanity that seemed to be threatening to devour his mind, forcing him to focus on what she was saying.

"you can try and do good - as they say - to ease the suffering of others."

Good? ...Ease the suffering? He was a vampire! How can a monster of darkness be anything more then a creature of the dark? ...Angel....he helped people, he was a vampire....but he had a soul, he was different!

"Maybe I could kill you..."

Spike held his breath, his eyes locking onto hers, totally unprepared for what she was about to say next.

"however, as you asked me to do it, the term would be suicide - the easiest way to get out."

His gently fingers loosened their grip of Garnets wrist as she spoke.

"It would be like a slap in the face of those you made suffer. Think about it"

She pulled her hand from his gentle hold and moved away without another thought, taking a seat and not even appearing to think over what he had done.

He turned slowly to watch her, speechless, his body slowly sliding down the wall, sitting with his back against it as he silently stared. The lingering pain that remained almost made him sick, but maybe this is the punishment...after everything he'd done, maybe his continued existence was the only punishment he needed.

He closed his eyes, he could hear words echoing about in his ears, familiar, too familiar...his words, he opened his eyes to see himself standing, paper in hand, just in front of him. In a seat across from Garnet sat an older woman, both he and she dressed in fine English clothes and speaking humbly to each other.

William:"Yet her smell, it doth linger, painting pictures in my mind. Her eyes, balls of honey. Angel's harps her laugh. Oh, lark. Grant a sign if crook'd be Cupid's shaft. Hark, the lark, her name it hath spake. "Cecily" it discharges from twixt its wee beak."

Spike scoffed at the figment of his imagination,

Spike:"Mother doesn't want to hear that you bloody-"

He paused as his mother placed her hands together proudly and said how wonderful it was. He watched as his past self reached out his hand, his mother took it and rose from the seat. Spike glanced between the two illusions, a slight panic in his voice as he spoke.

Spike:"..W-What are you doing?"

William:"Now now mother.....it shall only hurt for a moment.."

Spike face alters again and he stands up instantly, his voice more like a threatening growl.

Spike:"Lay one fang on her and I will rip your throat out."

Reaching out for his illusional past self, Spike's hands grabbed at thin air, snapping him out of the illusion his mind had created. He looked down at his hands as his face returned to normal, he gave a low frustrated growl that was more human that animal.

He continued to glance about for a moment, to make sure they where gone, then, upon remembering Garnet's presence, he spun about.

Spike:"I didn't mean...I-I wasn't talkin' to you."

He insisted nervously.

Spike:"H-He....I hurt her....he...a vampire...."

He paused, a serious look appearing in his face.

Spike:"There's a vampire.."

He looked off towards where Riley and the others disappeared through the door.

Spike:"...I can feel it..."

insanity, confusing insanity
Aurora's only reaction at Spike's outburst was a raised eyebrow. This man wasn't just a demon. He was an insane demon. Strangely enough, she couldn't care less.
Sometimes, insanity was more of help than a curse and although Garnet had not the faintest idea what the vampyre was talking about, she decided to find out which of those two variants applied to Spike.

The words he spoke being mentally clearer again stroke her though.

"Another vampire? Are you able to sense whether it is a dangerous one? Someone you know?"
Alarmed, Circe got up, her thoughts rushing as she thought about what to do first.

(OOC: *lol* Angie, your version of Circe's words was much better... damn! ^-^;; ok, I edited it....)

Re: frozen inside...
Moving his eyes from the doorway, the vampire's gaze returned to young girl, a slight smirk crossing his face.

Spike:"We're all dangerous, Pet."

He stated in a matter-of-fact tone before looking away again, trying to see if he could feel anything familiar about it...there was something, a sense that reminded him of something...but no one important, no one powerful..

Spike:"I don't know!"

He rubbed his eyes, shaking his head as he did so.

Spike:"Seems familiar, but...you have any idea how many vampires one can meet over a 1500 year life span? A bloody lot!"

He moved towards the door, he knew where the vampire was...it was so close, so near....it wasn't moving, but it was inside the building, and that meant....that meant people where in danger..

Jennifer:"What are you waiting for? Go kill it Spike!"

The slayer stood behind him, one hand on hip the other pointing off in the direction of the vampire, Spike stared at her dumbfounded.

Spike:"Incase you haven't noticed Slayer, I'm the captive here, not meant to run off killin' things!"

Jennifer:"So that's it then? You're just going to sit back and see what happens?"

Spike:"Look you...what am I doing? You're not even real! Bollocks, I'm just talkin' to myself again!"

Jennifer:"News flash Spike, you're crazy, crazy people talk to themselves."

Spike:"After I say this, we have finished talking, the vampire isn't moving, means it's been dealt with, end of story."

Jennifer:"That why you're so tense and worried?"

Spike:"Because I know he's out there!"

He looked at the person who only he could see.

Jennifer:"...Who's out there?"

Scoffing at her remark with a sarcastic laugh, he pointed his hand towards the window.

Spike:"Who the hell do you think I mean, Spike you bloody git, he's out there! Can't you feel it? Can't you hear the song?"

He held up his hand to stop her from speaking, then placed his finger against his lips.

Spike:"Ssshhh.."

He walked threw where her body was standing, causing her illusion to disappear as he moved closer to the door. Of course no one could hear the song..it had to be in his head, everything was always just in his head. He had to focus.

Spike:"It's weak....fire ought to finish it off easily enough."

"Please wait a moment"

Turning to one of the War Room's many computer consoles, Aurora started a program.

Welcome it said
Please specify your request
_

Quickly, Garnet typed a list of commands without even having to think about it.

Thank you

was the computer's print in reply and with a small smile, the ebony-haired mutant turned to leave.

"An automatic message will be read once one of the X-Men enters. Supervision cameras recorded what has been said so they will be able to see what happened. Let's go!"

With that, Circe turned around just glancing back shortly to check whether Spike followed or not...

Re: frozen inside...
The vampire watched as she fiddled with a piece of technology. He watched curiously, unlike most vampires Spike had an interest in learning how to operate the modern day machines.

"An automatic message will be read once one of the X-Men enters. Supervision cameras recorded what has been said so they will be able to see what happened."

After a moment of simply staring at her as she moved to the door, he glanced back at the machine.

"Let's go!"

Spike left the room, trying not to look as confused about the words she had used...like Supervision cameras? Unless they where cameras used to supervise...that'd make sense..

His pace was slow at first, a small distance between him and Garnet forming, the haunting melody that seemed to echo around him caused him to hurry, making it by her side as he glanced about for the source of the music.
