Re: That's what friends are for.
He looks..exhausted, Tessa thought to herself, gazing upon the blue-eyed fairy. She couldn't come up with another word so fitting as that one and it was painful for tired as Scott had been at times he had never looked like this before. Never had Scott looked like he was ready to give in and it unnerved her. Even when he was physically worn down there was that sparkle of eye and the most brilliant of azures that held an inner strength she doubted Scott realised he had. Not now though. Now he gazed at her through steel grey eyes, their brilliance tempered by some remnents of a nightmarish foe.

Even without its brilliance his gaze had made her feel better, somehow assured her that he was still Scott and he was just confused and frightened at the moment, not lost beyond repair. Now, as he closed his eyes and hid the grey-blue orbs from view, she felt as if a part of herself was missing as well. In a few short days he had become that close to her and that good a friend that she felt empty looking at this shell of the Scott she was so used to. Even still she knew she had to say something and she had begun to speak.

As she talked of staying his eyes finally openned and it was as though she had won a private victory. Despite her not knowing what he wanted or what would make things better she had gotten a reaction from him and maybe that meant she was on the right track. The gaze lasted only a minute in Tess' eyes though and they shut tightly for a moment when she soothingly told him to calm down, to relax because nothing would hurt him now. She wouldn't let anything hurt him.

"Mhm.." A mumble as he sat up but another victory in the stricken eyes of the half-fairy. The fact that he was trying to sit up and beginning to speak enough for her at the moment. The position looked awkward in every way. His legs hanging loosely over the edge of the bed, pressing all his weight against the head of the bed. Tessa wondered if she should help him, lift his legs for him but she was such a stranger still. Despite their connection she hadn't known him long enough to do something like touch him like this without an invitation or request from Scott. She couldn't help him; She couldn't help him in this way. All she could do was stay and talk and perhaps speak to Dr. McCoy if that was what he wanted. It was all in Scott's hands now.

"I would like that…" A sentence, or at least a fragment of one. It was hardly something helpful to her since Scott hadn't given any indication as to what it was he would like but the mere fact that they were moving in the right direction was enough for her. He would like something, she just had to ask what it was he would like.

"Scott," Tessa said gently, violet eyes fixed on him with more hope than they had looked with before. "I want to help, I just need to know what will help you feel better. If you want me to go ask Dr. McCoy if you can leave I will or if you want me to just stay here I will." Her eyes dropped for a moment so he didn't see the unwillingness held in them for the last option. She didn't want to leave Scott like this and she didn't think he wanted to be alone either but maybe he did. Maybe he wanted someone else by his side like Michael, Riley or one of his other friends. Scott had certainly known others before her at the institute and he had talked of them briefly during their time together. Perhaps it wasn't herself that he wanted at all.

And after a pause she spit the words out, managing to sound fairly normal as though nothing were wrong although the hint of not wanting to go away right now remained. "And if you want someone else here or to be alone that's okay too. Just let me know okay? And I'll do what I can."

Re: That's what friends are for.
Talked with Jenn about this and we decided this was the best way to get the timeing in this thread back into line... so no god modding done.
................................

“Is… isn’t there another way? Anything else we can try?.” That was the question Hank had been asking himself ever since Paige had been brought in and the answer was always the same. “Believe me if there was I would not be standing here discussing this one Sam”.he admitted bitterly. But I admit I am at a loss as to what to do next and this solution, no matter how unpleasant, seems to be our only remaining option if we are to save Paige. He hated the very idea of what they were about to do. *It may be the lesser of two evils but that does not make me feel any happier about it at this precise moment in time.*

Megan didn’t seem to have realised the full implications of what Michael had said which Hank suspected was just as well. Much as she loved her daughter he was sure she would have been horrified, just as Sam had been, by the lengths they were going to have to go to to save her. Well the decision had been made now for better of for worse and all they could do was try to make things as easy for Michael as possible. Which was not going to be easy.

Well one thing they could do was give him some sort of privacy. There was no way Hank was even going to consider making him endure withdrawal in the main ward for everyone to see. Though at the moment even that caused a problem! All the private rooms were occupied and even Hank’s personal sleeping space had a rejuvenated and confused Spiderman recovering in it. Still there had to be something he could do. Since you’re sure you want to go through with this we had better get you safely installed he told the waiting youth.

Im afraid you will have to share a room at first but don’t worry he added hastily as he saw the panic rising in Michael’s eyes The young lady in question is at the moment in a rather profound coma. She is not about to notice anything we may say or do in the immediate future. It was the first time that he had almost been grateful for the seriousness of Garnet’s condition and only the fact that he was sure she would re-emerge unscathed from her sleep once the effects of the toxin were entirely removed from her system allowed him to talk of it so lightly.

It didn’t take long to have another bed fitted up and install Michael in it. He looked pale and scared despite his best efforts to hide it but he was still doggedly determined to carry on. Hank couldn’t fault his courage. He only hoped he’d be as brave himself when it came time to make the hard decisions he was going to have to make in the next few days.

For now though they just had to let time take its course washing the drugs from Michaels frail body while Hank himself prepared the culture he needed in order to inject Michael with Paige’s disease. He encouraged Megan and Sam to sit with their daughter while he did so giving them permission to tell her as much or as little of what was going on as they saw fit once she awakened. He himself drew some blood and then set about fabricating the means to make someone ill rather than to cure them.

It wasn’t something he had ever done before and while the process was relatively simple it wasn’t something he ever wanted to do again. Just as the procedure was almost complete Spiderman awakened drawing his attention to other problems for a moment but all too soon it was time to face the harsh reality of what had to be done. It was obvious that Michael was ready When Hank had looked in on him earlier he had already been in enough pain to make it clear that the morphine was no longer doing its job. Now as Hank entered the room the boys eyes stayed screwed shut his breathing shallow and too rapid as he tried to deal with the torment of his shattered legs.

Michael the doctor said softly There is still time for us to stop this. No one will think any the less of you if you decide to do that.” “No its ok” Michael replied, his voice faint and unsteady but still determined. Is it ready then The injection? Hank nodded “Yes I have it here. If you’re sure this is what you want.” “Pass it over then. the young mutant said holding out a shaky hand . One thing I know how to do is stick a needle in my arm. A wave of relief swept over the doctor as well as a growing respect for the boy whose now open eyes showed an understanding of the physician’s predicament.

Even to save Paige’s life he hadn’t been sure he could have deliberately injected someone with a disease. Now the decision was out of his hands even if his complicity in the arrangement was still all too heavy a responsibility to bear You see Dr McCoy Michael said softly as he slipped the needle into his vein If I'd thought you could have done this to me I’d never have trusted you enough to go through with all this. But I do And you have to trust me to get through it too Ok?? And so the bargain had been sealed with trust and trepidation on both sides and the promise of hard times to come.

They needed this to work and they needed it to work fast if they were going to have any chance of success Hank reminded himself as he left the room, gently closing the door behind him. The shiar machines could help to speed up the process though that too was as unethical a move as any the doctor had been contemplating. Could he really justify their use in that way by telling himself that the sooner Michael succumbed to the pneumonia the sooner his power would activate and heal him? It was shaky moral ground at best and Hank wasn’t ready to take the step just yet though realistically he knew he would be forced to it sooner rather than later.

For the moment though there were other patients to be cared for even if thankfully their condition wasn’t as big a source of concern as Paiges.*Time to look in on our resident fey* Hank thought to himself as he made his way towards Scott’s room, making a conscious effort to clear his mind of any troubled thoughts before he entered the empath’s presence. He doubted that he was very successful given the weight of the concerns which were bearing down on him but at least he had tried. *Med lab is probably not the most restful place for him at the moment * the doctor realised with a sigh. Perhaps we should do something about that. *However Just in case he did manage to drop off to sleep……*

Hank eased the door open quietly so as not to awaken the fairy student if he should have been slumbering but he needn’t have bothered. Scott was more or less awake. Not only that, he had a visitor with him. “Tessa” Hank said with pleased surprise.” I see you have found you’re way up to see us. Sorry to interrupt I was just checking to see that Scott here was all right and…….. the doctors eyes filled with concern as he took in Scott’s troubled expression….. I can see that he’s not. What seems to be the matter? And more importantly what can I do to help?

Fairy Prince Charming

Re: That's what friends are for.
"Scott," Her voice was tender, lulling him into a sense of security… The Prince enjoyed her voice, it was unearthly in some ways, homey for him, familiar and normal, yet different as her tone was affected by her human linage. "I want to help, I just need to know what will help you feel better. If you want me to go ask Dr. McCoy if you can leave I will or if you want me to just stay here I will." Stay here? No no no…he gave a slight sigh and very weak shake of his head but it was too faint to really be noticed had she not been looking directly at the fairy Prince. And it turned out she hadn’t, her eyes downcast and avoiding him, Scott wondered if that was because she intended on leaving him, maybe she was, and she could tell he didn’t want to be alone but she wanted to leave and it made her feel guilty.

"And if you want someone else here or to be alone that's okay too. Just let me know okay? And I'll do what I can." Was she suggesting she’d get someone else so she didn’t have to stay? He felt sick and awkward and he was confused enough as it was, he didn’t want anyone else, he wanted someone like Tessa, someone like him, who understood him, she was part fairy, she understood him better then others, didn’t she? Sometimes it felt like that, as if nothing Scott did shocked her and yet it all held a wonder at the same time, unexpected sure yet always something she so easily accepted.

Had he not agreed to her asking the healer if he may leave with her, or stay with her, something that involved company regardless of his location. The fairy always admired the doctor, granted that Scott had little time involved with Beast he had seen and heard more from Connor and Riley, even Arlen had spoken of Beasts helpful way and the master healer seemed to use both human science and nature to heal his charges. It was as if the furred physician heard Scott’s thoughts as soon the door was creaking open, the sensations from beyond Scott’s room enough for the fairy to know of the presence of another before the door gently swung open and revealed the larger figure of the feline healer.

"Tessa" Glazed silver eyes moved from the doctor to the part fairy, Scott’s hand drawing his t-shirt as close to his chest as possible, feeling more outnumbered now as he sat there improperly dressed. He didn’t understand how open most males were so open with their body since in the human world it was just something to be shown off, but for Scott it was still something so private and personal, only a select few were permitted to see him even partially undressed and that was really his close family and even then he was always awkward and feeling out of place. "I see you have found you’re way up to see us. Sorry to interrupt I was just checking to see that Scott here was all right and…….." The Prince’s heart wrecked havoc in his chest, exhausted eyes dancing between the two, Tessa wanted to help him, Hank had the ability to do so as well, it was his chance to have things improve though he wasn’t sure how without leaving the medbay and he didn’t want to go back to his room…"I can see that he’s not. What seems to be the matter? And more importantly what can I do to help?" The fair skinned cheeks burned, steel eyes remaining downcast for a minute as he tried to get over the humiliation of the moment.

"T.. " A timid attempt of speaking was only briefly tried at first, Scott curling back timorously, he wanted to ask Tessa if she may step out while he asked McCoy to help him dress properly, but what if Tessa stepped out and then left? He wanted company and he didn’t want her to go. "..I.." But the words again faded, this time his eyes drooping closed as his exhaustion was more openly shown then it had been allowed to show before. He didn’t want to sleep again, not after his last dream, his heart raced all the more just at the thought he might fall asleep here again. He couldn’t even figure out what to say, he didn’t know what he wanted to ask, asking to leave wasn’t helpful, he could see that the doctor would want to keep watch over him and make sure that the patient of his was doing well. "..how long till I am well enough to leave?" Maybe it wouldn’t be long at all, the fairy’s voice had dwindled down from its usual vibrancy though he tried hard not to show his distress, he was failing miserably. Child like eyes raised to look over at Hank, their metallic hue dull and his expression almost like that of a distraught child banished unfairly to the corner for misbehaving.

Re: That's what friends are for.
There were many kinds of suffering and in its own way Scott’s was no less intense than that of the two other patients who filled Hank’s thoughts. The fairy’s eyes were dull and distressed , his exhaustion visible. This wasn’t a result of the spider bite, at least not directly. Certainly there was some fever still lingering, nor was Scott’s mobility fully restored. Hank doubted that it would be before several days at least but still…… There was no reason for the fear that seemed to radiate from the sick student. No medical reason that was. Unfortunately his powers were another story.

There was fear aplenty in med lab at that moment whether it came from Paige fighting for her life , from her parents watching their daughter sink ever deeper into the illness that seemed fated to take her from them or from Michael hurting already, knowing that his difficult journey was only beginning and wondering if he had the strength to see it through to the end. You can add my own to the list Hank admitted sadly. No matter how I try to put it away it is still there in my heart. Yes fear must have hung over the place like a fog and Scott was caught helpless in its grasp. It drained his strength and dampened his spirit. It was in fact poisoning him just as surely as the spider had and it hurt Hank to see what it had already done to him.

If only this had all happened even a week later there might have been a solution. The new team dorms were almost ready. If they had been then Hank would certainly have proposed letting Scott go back to the care of his team mates. Not something he would have done with any student on any team but Green Strike seemed to be different. A true success story from what he could see with each member looking out for the others. But those rooms were still unfinished, the proposed changes not even suspected by the students at the moment. And yet Scott needed to get out that much was clear. The fairy knew that as well as anyone even if he was too overcome even to articulate it.

"T.. ""..I.." He was so tired and yet Hank doubted that any rest he could snatch in med lab would do him any good. Feelings seeped even into dreams and drugging him into oblivion was hardly a solution that the doctor wanted to resort to. "..how long till I am well enough to leave?" Finally Scott had forced the words out, desperation giving him the strength to ask though his eyes said he held out little hope of receiving an answer that would please him.

Hank sighed and pulled up a chair settling himself down beside the bed instead of towering over it. “The spiders bite has left you weak Im afraid Scott” he said gently. And I’m sure you realise that your movements are still impaired. You would find it hard to look after yourself under those conditions and as a doctor I couldn’t in all conscience just leave you to your own devices. It was clear that this wasn’t what the fairy wanted to hear nor to be honest was it what the doctor wanted to tell him. It was however nothing less than the truth. Still there had to be some other way if only they could find it.

However I can see that staying here is doing you no good the doctor admitted freely You have come to us at a difficult time I fear.he went on with a sad smile. Normally I like to think that the atmosphere in med lab is a little more convivial but alas that is not the case at the moment and I know you must be suffering because of it. The words were kind but not patronising. This was a difficult situation that Scott was being asked to face up to and Hank had no intention of insulting him by treating him as anything less than an equal, no matter how young and lost he looked. If you had family nearby I would suggest releasing you to their care or better still them coming to the school to look after you while I continue your treatment. Unfortunately from what I understand that would not be possible.

Hank could sense Tessa still hovering in the background. He remembered how Riley had rushed to help when Scott had been brought in. He thought of how Michael had taken care to tell him of the fairy’s eating preferences and his desire for is dragon toy. There were people around who cared for Scott that much was obvious. The question was would they step up in his hour of need? He certainly wouldn’t pressure them to do so It would after all be a big responsibility even if he remained closely involved in the healing process as he undoubtedly would have too. Still he knew the strength of the friendships that could form at the Institute. If Scott was lucky enough to have formed bonds like that then perhaps now was the time for him to realise it.

Let’s give them the chance anyway and see what happens. Hank decided. Is there perhaps someone here who would be prepared to help you through this difficult time?. he asked. I would have talked to Michael about it but he is going to be staying in med lab himself for the next few days so that would be out of the question. Perhaps one of your other friends would be available though?

Re: That's what friends are for.
OOC: *gives in and writes postie for Ang* Pleasie can I have a Dawn post? *begs even though it's not for her to reply to*

~~

Her violet gaze watched him carefully; Her eyes now raised to look into Scott's with shaky concern and a buried desire to be the one there for him through this, even as she tried to tell him it was alright to want a friend he had known for longer around. Any response she may have been waiting for was no longer an option as the door began to creak open. Not possessing Scott's empathic abilities, Tessa wasn't sure who was at the door. Common sense told her it was Dr. McCoy but there were other patients in the med lab and those who helped out healing the sick so one could never be positive.

As the large figure of the mutant known as Beast came into view Tessa felt relief wash through her. She had just been talking about asking if Scott could possibly leave the confining medical bay room and now the man in question was here. "Tessa," he said and she remembered that she hadn't exactly asked if it was okay to enter and had just assumed that she would have permission considering that she had been asked to come visit by Michael's message. Tessa might have worried about Dr. McCoy's reaction if it hadn't been for the pleased and surprised tone of his voice. Obviously he hadn't expected her but was not disappointed to do so and the violet-eyed fairy relaxed a little.

"I see you have found you’re way up to see us. Sorry to interrupt," the doctor began. Tessa smiled up at him, the sort of friendly smile that said it was just fine and that he hadn't interrupted but her smile was shaky from the upstart and it wavered, a clear indication of her worry for the other fairy.

"I was just checking to see that Scott here was all right and I can see that he’s not. What seems to be the matter? And more importantly what can I do to help?" The doctor's eyes had flickered over to take in Scott's condition and Tessa had followed his gaze, trying to alternate looking at the furry mutant and Scott so that he didn't feel she was ignoring him at all. What could he do to help. The same question that Tessa had been asking herself and, indirectly, Scott during her visit thus far. She knew things weren't right and yet she didn't know all the details of why Scott had been in such a mess when she had found him, tangled among his sheets. She certainly didn't know how either of them could help him specifically. That was something only Scott could tell them and, in his terror of nightmares, he hadn't exactly been prone to a great deal of speech, or at least not human speech.

"T.. " The beginnings of a consenent sound were enough to grab Tessa's attention and she turned to Scott instantly. It seemed as though that were all he could manage though as he curled back up and fell silent. A second attempt was made but it fared no better than the first try and Scott closed his eyes in exhaustion.

"..How long till I am well enough to leave?" A part of Tessa cheered as Scott found the words to ask a question. Somehow it seemed a step forward in her mind, that he had found speech. Another part of her was horribly worried for, while Scott had spoken, he sounded as miserable as he obviously was and there was a dullness about Scott that seemed to contradict everything he stood for. The pure energy, curiosity and vibrance of Scott's personality were all gone and he seemed drained so that he was only a shell of his former self.

She wrenched her gaze away from the drained fairy to look instead at the doctor. She too wondered how long it would be until Scott was well again because she hated to see him broken like this. The fact that Hank was changing position in order to sit, rather than stand over them, indicated to Tessa that he couldn't possibly have good news.

“The spiders bite has left you weak Im afraid Scott”. Beast's tone was gentle but still the words he spoke did not have a reassuring effect on Tessa. "And I’m sure you realise that your movements are still impaired. You would find it hard to look after yourself under those conditions and as a doctor I couldn’t in all conscience just leave you to your own devices." Obviously the judgement was far from good. It seemed to indicate that Scott would have to stay here and be helped in his actions. Tessa despaired as she thought of the fairy being drained more and more of his precious aura of energy and brightness with each day he spent there.

However Tessa hadn't anticipated the rest of Dr. McCoy's statement and as he began to speak again she realised she had been too quick in jumping to conflusions. "However I can see that staying here is doing you no good. You have come to us at a difficult time I fear." A difficult time? Tessa's brain was hardly working at full capacity as she divided her energy between worrying about her friend and listening to Hank. There was no space left for thought and at first she missed what he meant. Then Tessa remembered the very missions that had put Scott in the medical bay. Obviously they had hurt other teams besides her own and the medical bay was still busy with several patients who required assistance and whose mental states would hardly be good for Scott.

"Normally I like to think that the atmosphere in med lab is a little more convivial," Dr. McCoy continued, "but alas that is not the case at the moment and I know you must be suffering because of it." Tessa had never really gotten to know the doctor and had managed to avoid any serious injury that might have given her said chance. She knew that others trusted and liked him but while they knew eachother she hadn't spoken with Dr. McCoy often. Now Tessa understood why the blue mutant was so well liked. He was a man who really cared about his patients just as the Headmaster cared for his students. She appreciated the calm kindness and understanding he was showing Beast and felt a swell of affection for the doctor.

Now Beast was talking of sending Scott to his family but that obviously wasn't an option. Scott's case was abnormal, she supposed.

"Is there perhaps someone here who would be prepared to help you through this difficult time?" Beast asked and Tessa looked up, twisting a golden ringlet around her finger, a bad nervous habit she had never managed to break. "I would have talked to Michael about it but he is going to be staying in med lab himself for the next few days so that would be out of the question. Perhaps one of your other friends would be available though?"

It took Tessa only a few seconds to let the proposition sink in before she answered. She considered a Scott a friend and presumed he did the same. She hoped he would be comfortable having her around, knowing that some people she had known didn't like to have certain others see them in weakened states. She only had school to worry about and was an excellent student in most of her classes. Beyond that she had no obligations except to Green Strike Force and to Ryan Warner's daughter, Lily-Rose, whom she occasionally babysat. Now, however, she had nothing as pressing as helping a friend get better and to just sit around and do nothing would only make her feel useless and depressed.

"Dr. McCoy? I could-I mean I could help Scott. I've just got my classes and I won't fall behind," Tessa began, not really realizing that she sounded so eager to help as she did. "I'd just be restless if I didn't help somehow anyway and Scott's my teammate and friend." This was stated unneccessarily but did let him know where she stood on the matter of friendship and their status. "That is, if he wants me to," Tess added quickly, violet gaze resting now on Scott. Ultimately it was up to him and perhaps he would want someone of his own gender or maybe Doctor McCoy had a better alternative. She didn't know but she did know that the choice was theirs, she was just an eager volunteer who needed to help in some way.

Re: That's what friends are for.
“The spiders bite has left you weak Im afraid Scott”. Weak, but alive, that was what was important, he felt awful in these confines, no trees, no animals, not a single flower, the air itself seemed strange and filled with foreign smells. "And I’m sure you realise that your movements are still impaired. You would find it hard to look after yourself under those conditions and as a doctor I couldn’t in all conscience just leave you to your own devices." …Impaired? Devices? The latter Scott was vaguely familiar with but it made no sense in the context that the furred healer had used it, at least in Scott’s opinion. The fairy closed his eyes, words of comfort weren’t much good if he didn’t understand what the other was on about. Though it was easy to tell that Hank was discussing Scott’s inability to leave and take care of himself.

"However I can see that staying here is doing you no good. You have come to us at a difficult time I fear." Silvery eyes opened, though remained downcast and miserable, not really sensing what was coming as the fairy wasn’t paying the words as much heart as he perhaps should have been. "Normally I like to think that the atmosphere in med lab is a little more convivial," Another word that passed over the winged patient, obviously his native tongue wasn’t English and though he was a pretty decent speaker of the human words he still encountered words that he didn’t understand, "but alas that is not the case at the moment and I know you must be suffering because of it." Alas… Scott had heard it here and there but never asked for a translation, it bothered him that so many words were lost to him, not aware that Beast had a love for languages that pushed him to weave the most intricate of words into his every day speech. It was, however, the next words that really drew a reaction from Scott, who’s eyes opened slightly more and his lips parted as if in attempt to start a protest, though he had no intention of speaking, he couldn’t find the words to express his worries… not just at this point.

"If you had family nearby I would suggest releasing you to their care or better still them coming to the school to look after you while I continue your treatment. Unfortunately from what I understand that would not be possible." No… no it wouldn’t, they’d remove him from the school, they’ll probably accuse the humans of putting him in a dangerous situation that they had no right of doing. Scott may want to be something else right now but he couldn’t deal with being dragged back to his home and smothered so much so he’d probably be confined to his room for a good few weeks, even if he was infinitely better. "Is there perhaps someone here who would be prepared to help you through this difficult time?" Eyes softened from their mild panic and returned to their tired sadness, not able to bring up the hope of such a thing… Arlen perhaps would have, if he wasn’t so miserable Scott would have asked but right now the mer-prince was not the kind of emotional aura Scott could deal with at the moment.

"I would have talked to Michael about it but he is going to be staying in med lab himself for the next few days so that would be out of the question. Perhaps one of your other friends would be available though?" Michael? Did Beast think Michael would have gone out of his way to take care of the prince… because it looked as if someone needed to take care of Michael, especially if Michael was appearing half staved the last time the two talked. Riley… maybe… no, definitely, Riley would, Scott knew he would. There was so many things going on with Riley though, things Scott wasn’t sure he was being told clearly the problems but knew that these problems were serious. Aside from the death of his child… Riley had been so over the moon that he talked about what it would be like and how worried he was and how he’d probably need to ask for help on how to raise a child. Then he got stressed when Catherine seemed to keep shooting him down whenever questions were raised regarding the child and then… with its death Riley lost all the excitement which had been building up.

"Dr. McCoy? I could-I mean I could help Scott. I've just got my classes and I won't fall behind," At first Scott didn’t seem to react, but that was only because his mind seemed to register her words in a delayed reaction, surprise slowly swelling inside of them as the fairy looked up at the other. Had the prince not been an empathy he would have assumed the girl was just trying to offer for the sake of politeness, she was there after all, and she knew Scott, no one else was around… but Scott was forced to see that there wasn’t any negative feelings in the offer, no stress to signal a half hearted offer. "I'd just be restless if I didn't help somehow anyway and Scott's my teammate and friend." Team mate and friend, the words brought a tingle to him, rippling though the youngest sibling with a warmth that came when realizing that he was part of something as wonderful as the newly formed team, Green, and to know those people were becoming his friends was even more special.

"That is, if he wants me to," If? Scott’s face had finally lifted to stare across at hers, as if just to check she was being serious, perhaps what he felt from her was just a trick his mind was playing, but no… her face was serious, anxious but honest. The metallic gaze shifted to Hank hopefully, though the inhuman words which spilled from Scott’s lips sounded as simple as ‘can she?’ though remained as graceful and poised as his language was famed to be. The eagerness of his request may be dulled due to the exhaustion, but he was hopeful and he wanted this, another fairy to keep him company, even if she wasn’t familiar with his world she was still part of it and he knew he’d feel better having something like that around him.

Re: That's what friends are for.
"Dr. McCoy? I could-I mean I could help Scott. To be honest he had been hoping for just such a reaction. Hoping but not demanding. Still he heard no sense of unwilling obligation in the girls voice, just a genuine desire to help and a heartfelt concern for Scott that encouraged the doctor to think that this could indeed be a solution to the fairies problem.

Nor did she seem to be making the offer without having considered some of the responsibilities that went with it I've just got my classes she assured him. and I won't fall behind. Hank smiled at the sensible down to earth reaction. That too bode well for their arrangement. . "I'd just be restless if I didn't help somehow anyway and Scott's my teammate and friend."

All good reasons and ones that seemed to touch Scott bringing the first hints of light back to his dulled eyes. This is what it was like for us Hank thought remembering the bonds that had formed between that first team of x men all those years ago. Yes there had been arguments and disagreements, some of them spectacular to say the least. But they had been there for each other no matter what. And even after all these years they still were.

He wished the same good fortune on all the youngsters who now found themselves taking up the mantle of the X men. To be part of something they believed in. To find people you could trust with your life. There were many hardships associated with their lifestyle but there were also benefits that others couldn’t hope to understand. And friendships that stood the test of time and adversity were one of them.

This friendship between Scott and Tessa was just beginning yet already it showed signs of promise. Even if Tessa herself was still unsure of how her offer would be received. "That is, if he wants me to," she finished waiting for Scott’s reaction. She didn’t have to wait for long nor did you have to be familiar with the language the fairy used to know that he was as eager to seize this opportunity as she was to offer it. I think we can take it that he does Hank said with a warm chuckle. And I see no reason why this shouldn’t be possible. Although there will of course be certain things we need to work out.

Like where exactly you will be staying during all this. There was no way that Scott move into the girls dorms and the inverse was just as true for Tessa. Though I don’t usually encourage students to set up house together Hank continued wickedly I think we can perhaps make an exception in this case. One of the guest suites would be more convenient don’t you agree. I hardly think you would find communal showers easy at this time Scott so an en suite bathroom is an essential. And some cooking facilities wouldn’t go amiss either. Two bedrooms of course. That goes without saying. The teasing tone was still in his voice though the underlying message was somewhat more serious. He had no doubt as to the platonic relationship between the two young people but the rules still had to be underlined however gently it was done.

And frequent medical supervision of course. I may be letting you out of med lab but that does not mean you are being abandoned. Anything untoward, any change in his condition, anything you are unsure about for whatever reason, contact me straight away day or night. he told Tessa earnestly. I will give you my extension number and my call badge frequency so we shall never really be out of touch and you must promise me that you will not hesitate to use them. This recovery is going to be a team effort. And at least for the next few days please consider me part of the team.

Re: That's what friends are for.
Her question asked, the only thing Tessa Macneil could do was wait for somesort of a reaction or response. She recieved it first from Scott as his gaze lifted to look at her, almost as though he was disbelieving. This passed the half-fairy by as she knew the decision was mostly in the hands of Dr. McCoy. He was in charge of the health of his patients and if he said no then it wouldn't matter what Scott thought, yet what Scott thought was of great importance to her.

She had offered her help gladly but Tessa feared she might be rejected and however politely and kindly that rejection might come it would still be rejection. Irrationally, she feared that Scott would not want her by his side.

This fear was allayed by the eagerness of Scott as he looked hopefully at the doctor. She couldn't understand the words he used yet the feeling behind them was universal. He wanted her to be there as much as she wanted to be involved. She knew so little of Scott's world, of a world that might also be hers. She knew that full grown adoptive children often sought out their biological parents and their backgrounds, however happy they were with their adoptive parents. Tess understood this as a search for self through one's ancestry. In her case the search was a little more complicated for there were no helpful adoption records and her parents, if they still lived, were not in the world shared by humans and mutants. She had to look elsewhere to be fufilled about her past. She had almost stopped seaching altogether. Then Scott had come into her life.

A fairy! Another of her kind and he had attachments to this world that she had never known. It was exciting and terrifying all at once. At first it had been just that connection between two people, similar to when a person finds out they grew up on the same island in the same part of the world as another. It might have meant nothing beyond that but it was Scott and it had. Not only did he have this remarkable ancestry but he was also a genuinely good person and though Tessa had not known him long she already considered him a friend.

"I think we can take it that he does." The voice of Hank McCoy drew her from her thoughts, his tone warm and inviting. "I see no reason why this shouldn’t be possible. Although there will of course be certain things we need to work out."

The 'although' did not escape Tessa's attention but she was so thrilled at having gotten Hank's approval that for a moment she put it aside. Beast, however, was not about to put things aside. Responsible and logical he began to talk through the issues that needed dealing with and Tessa listened, the bright grin that had flashed across her face at the acceptance of her offer of help fading into a more serious expression.

"-Like where exactly you will be staying during all this," Hank continued. That was something that hadn't crossed the fairy's mind. The dorms here were separate for girls and boys and neither could very well move into the other's room. "Though I don’t usually encourage students to set up house together I think we can perhaps make an exception in this case." Tessa felt the beginnings of a blush creep across her cheeks at the notion implied and hoped it would not show.

"One of the guest suites would be more convenient don’t you agree. I hardly think you would find communal showers easy at this time Scott so an en suite bathroom is an essential. And some cooking facilities wouldn’t go amiss either."

In a moment Tessa was understanding why she was a student and Dr. McCoy a teacher beyond the education and age difference obviously. These were all things that had to be considered and agreed upon, things that she would have completely overlooked. Food, showers, accomodations, all problems to be dealt with and all pieces of the puzzle that she had been too distracted to see. The eighteen-year-old was still far from adulthood in some ways although she was one of the more mature and responsible teens out there.

"Two bedrooms of course. That goes without saying," Dr. McCoy said and while he was teasing them both Tessa knew there was a hint of seriousness about the message. None of this kept her from blushing once again.

"And frequent medical supervision of course. I may be letting you out of med lab but that does not mean you are being abandoned. Anything untoward, any change in his condition, anything you are unsure about for whatever reason, contact me straight away day or night."

As the conversation was steered into more serious waters Tessa nodded, her expression serious as she understood the responsibility that was being placed on her shoulders. "I will give you my extension number and my call badge frequency so we shall never really be out of touch and you must promise me that you will not hesitate to use them," Dr. McCoy told her in no uncertain terms. "This recovery is going to be a team effort. And at least for the next few days please consider me part of the team."

Tessa gave him a warm half-smile. In the short amount of time that she had known Dr. McCoy he had already given her reason to like him. She liked to think that her fairy side had helped in her instincts. It was no mutant ability but sometimes she had impressions and feelings about people directly after meeting them and she felt like she had a good idea of who to trust and who to not. Tessa felt she could trust Hank McCoy and she hoped he knew he could trust her too. Scott's health was a large burden but one that Tess was unafraid to help bare.

"Thank you Dr. McCoy," she said, a little quietly but with confidence. "You've considered things I hadn't," Tessa admitted to him, her violet eyes glancing over at Scott, wondering what he thought of it all. His words of never being out of touch had reassured her of whatever doubts she may have had. Tessa promised him, "I'll call if I need any help at all, and thank you." Her face was earnest and her thanks heartfelt. Scott would get through this and she would be right by his side to help him.

Re: That's what friends are for.
"I think we can take it that he does" Even though Hank was chuckling, Scott blinked in surprise, taking a moment to realize he hadn’t spoken in English, causing a slight blush to warm the fairy’s cheeks. "And I see no reason why this shouldn’t be possible. Although there will of course be certain things we need to work out." The Prince was so tired, even with all this excitement he could feel how heavy his eyes were, and despite not wanting to sleep after his previous nightmare it was becoming increasingly obvious to the youthful fairy that he’d not have much of a choice if he kept getting any sleepier. What sort of things needed to be sorted though? Couldn’t they work on that later…?

"Like where exactly you will be staying during all this." Ok… well… that was a point, Scott had just assumed he’d go back to either his or Tessa’s room, and since that nasty spider blocked his door, then Scott would have requested Tessa’s. To the Prince he couldn’t see that someone would want to make sure they slept apart, even if Scott was getting to the age of becoming interested in girls he wasn’t really into them just yet and so his thoughts couldn’t really figure that the adults would worry that two ‘young children’ would be getting up to things beyond their years. The only problem was that Tessa wasn’t like other fairies, it didn’t matter if she wasn’t centuries old, the half breed was becoming mature and she was maturing more every day, just as Scott seemed to be doing during his stay at the school. The thought that girls wouldn’t like a boy in their halls also didn’t register, nor vice versa, humans tended to enjoy the other genders company a little too much as far as Scott’s upbringing had taught him and it was more intimidating to watch couples court and the vicious cycle of dating that often occurred in the school halls.

"Though I don’t usually encourage students to set up house together" Set up house? He wanted them to build their own house? Scott blinked as he stared at the doctor, surely Hank was using some twist of words that were going right over the foreigner’s head. "I think we can perhaps make an exception in this case. One of the guest suites would be more convenient don’t you agree. I hardly think you would find communal showers easy at this time Scott so an en suite bathroom is an essential. And some cooking facilities wouldn’t go amiss either. Two bedrooms of course. That goes without saying." It took until Scott’s name was mentioned before the male fairy realized he was being addressed and to be honest more then just a few parts didn’t make sense to Scott. What where communal showers? He knew what showers were… what about an en suite? The word seemed totally out of place, bathroom he got, Riley had explained the name for that room a long while ago but Scott’s nose wrinkled slightly as he struggled to understand some of the words Hank spoke. One thing that caused a rather blank stare however was the emphasis on two bed rooms… Scott had to wonder what was so special about that, there were two of them, so it made sense to have two beds to sleep on, though in Scott’s household it wasn’t uncommon for Queen Lillian’s sons to, at some point in their lives, spend their troubled nights sharing her bed. As they got elder the boys snuck into each others rooms for comfort though, Scott was the only one really seeking his mother for a comfort he may urgently need at whatever time and for whatever reason. Seeking comfort by staying near Tessa didn’t strike Scott has something out of the normal, but just because they’d spend time together didn’t mean she shouldn’t have her own special place to sleep or be alone.

"And frequent medical supervision of course. I may be letting you out of med lab but that does not mean you are being abandoned. Anything untoward, any change in his condition, anything you are unsure about for whatever reason, contact me straight away day or night." Yet again with words Scott lacked in his vocabulary, and the Prince thought he was doing so well, in some ways it was disheartening to be with someone who every sentence was able to say something Scott wasn’t familiar with, but then again, it was also inspiring, telling Scott he had more work to do and motivating him on. "I will give you my extension number and my call badge frequency so we shall never really be out of touch and you must promise me that you will not hesitate to use them. This recovery is going to be a team effort. And at least for the next few days please consider me part of the team." While Tessa offered Hank a small lop sided smile, Scott also let one tug in the corner of his lips, he really liked Hank, even if the guy spoke in tongues that Scott couldn’t yet grasp, the genuine care was wonderful and uplifting. Such a friend… it was hard to believe the doctor was so much younger than Scott, and it was so easy for the fairy to forget such age differences, as far as Scott cared Hank was so much older than he, and the Prince could learn so much from someone so wise and gentle.

"Thank you Dr. McCoy," Thank you indeed, even in Scott’s silence his expression alone mirrored his agreement and his gratitude towards the good doctor. "You've considered things I hadn't," Tessa continued on, and while Scott wanted to say he agreed again, he was too confused on too many things that Hank had said which couldn’t be translated, the Prince got the gist of the idea Hank was trying to say, but it was still hard knowing there were so many words lost in the sentences, and one word could alter the entire meaning of a sentence. Tessa looked over towards the Prince, and Scott let his lightly hued eyes look back at her thoughtfully, their exhaustion evident and yet his mood far more content now then earlier. Though his heavy eyes slowly closed as Tessa’s voice continued to speak. "I'll call if I need any help at all, and thank you." It was going to be so good to get out of here, to get somewhere that wasn’t so cold and empty, even if it was a place of healing Scott needed colours, he needed plants and flowers and if he couldn’t have them he at least wanted things around him that were colourful in some way. But even if the new place he was being taken to lacked colours it didn’t really matter now, it’d be nice but at the same time… with Tessa there Scott knew he’d be happy enough, she’d help return the strength back to him, with her he knew he’d be able to laugh soon enough, there was no way he could be with a friend and not laugh.

One of Scott’s wings seemed to twitch awkwardly on his back, the Prince’s body leaning forward slightly as his drowsiness began to take its toll once again, a flinch of his wings following as his eyes pried themselves open and his head lifted up with a shake in an attempt to wake himself up. This was so embarrassing for him, as a Prince he was always taught how to pride himself on his appearance and how to carry himself in a proper manner, and now he could barely sit up straight.

"My apologies," He tried to excuse himself for his display of exhaustion, not because he wanted them to forgive him for being tired but he felt it a little rude that they were going through all this fuss and he could barely stay awake to see it through. "Riley gave me some honey… may I keep… hrmmm.." There was a pause, dropped eyes shutting gently but soon being tightly squeezed shut, "…May I keep it with me?" As Scott’s eyes relaxed, his head once again lowered, a mumbled few words followed but once again he’d slipped into his other tongue, speaking them in a language the two others wouldn’t understand. Now blue-grey eyes opened with a struggle and a deep breath drawn in. All this sitting around wasn’t help keep his mind energized and if he didn’t start moving he was going to drift off and sleep for real in a moment. The Prince just hoped Hank would help him finish dressing before sending him off with Tessa, it was hard enough getting the doctor to help out, there was no way he’d have Tessa help, girls just aren’t supposed to help guys dress, not unless they were the mothers.

Re: That's what friends are for.
If both of them listened to what he had said it was clear that it was only Tessa who understood his gentle underscoring of the proprieties to be observed over the next few days. Scott on the other hand was all exhaustion and innocence, leading the doctor to believe that the fact that Tessa was a girl and he a boy had never really crossed the fairies mind. In anything like a sexual way that was. Still.. put two attractive young people in such close proximity and you never knew what might happen so the warning had had to be given even if it was almost certainly unnecessary.

The insistence on medical supervision wasn’t however. Hank was relieved to see that Tessa had also taken that part of his message to heart, adding her reassurance that she would keep in close contact with him along to her sincerely offered thanks. It did indeed seem like the best solution to a delicate problem and Hank was only too grateful that she had been willing to accept the responsibility of taking charge of Scott’s convalescence. *He will not thrive here that is certain* Hank thought with regret * but with her I believe he will flourish If he stays awake long enough to actual leave med lab that is.*

The youths struggle against encroaching sleep was all too obvious and to be expected given all that he had been through. Even if Scott himself seemed embarrassed by it. "My apologies," he murmured drowsily, then his mind seemed to flit to another subject as he added. "Riley gave me some honey… may I keep… hrmmm.. …May I keep it with me?" "

“Oh most certainly” Hank replied with a laugh. “Although I may seem rather like a bear from some angles I don’t actually share their overwhelming need to steal honey! And before you start to worry, Scott” he added with a wink “that was only a joke. I know very well what you meant. Now though we should get you ready to go… ” There was a hint of shyness on the fairies face that Hank was quick to pick up on. “Tessa.. perhaps you step outside for a moment dear while I help Scott finish dressing?

Re: That's what friends are for.
With everything now settled Tessa glanced over at the other fairy, looking on him with sparkling lavender eyes. She had a purpose! Tessa had worried about Scott's condition as she worried about everyone and everything. Her mother had used to pat her on the head fondly and call her a 'worrywort' when she got like that but Tess couldn't help how she was, she supposed it was in the genes she had recieved from her birth parents. However there was nothing to do to alleviate that worry and the blonde had felt useless in that way that a friend always does when someone they care about is hurting and they can do nothing to help. No longer that feeling of uselessness, caring for Scott and getting him out of the Med Bay that seemed to suffocate him would be something. It made her feel needed.

Yet as her eyes rested upon him Tessa could see his eyes droop and the effort that it took for the other to remain awake. Seeming instantly embarassed he attempted to apologize. Her first thought was 'what for?' but she found his politeness endearing all the same.

"Riley gave me some honey… may I keep… hrmmm.." Again those brilliant blue orbs were hidden from sight for a moment as the tired fairy's eyes closed. Tessa felt as though clouds had just removed the rays of sunshine from a particularly bright day. "…May I keep it with me?" He uttered a few words she could not makeout in the language that her parents might have spoken and then his eyes opened once more, although not without some effort on his part.

Hank's jolly reply to the question asked only served to make Tess respect the doctor that much more and images of the storybook figure Winnie the Pooh, whose adventures she had read aloud to Lily-Rose during her baby-sitting excursions more than once, filled her head. Scott, however, looked as though he might not make it another minute before falling into a deep slumber and the bright-eyed young woman realized that they would have to leave shortly.

“Tessa.. perhaps you step outside for a moment dear while I help Scott finish dressing? Doctor McCoy's request was gentle and took into consideration the other fairy's obvious shyness. Tessa couldn't blame him, had their positions been reversed she too would desire her privacy from the opposing sex. "Of course," she said and, blushing slightly, Tess moved towards the door. Having walked through the threshold she pulled the door shut gently behind her and gave Scott his desired privacy.

Re: That's what friends are for.
“Oh most certainly” With the doctor replying with a light hearted laugh to Scott's requested it caused a rather instinctive smile to creep softly to the corner of the fairy's lips, even if he didn't struggle to keep it there for long.“Although I may seem rather like a bear from some angles I don’t actually share their overwhelming need to steal honey! And before you start to worry, Scott” Striking azure eyes opened to stare at the blue mutant, rather blank in their confusion, his mind too tired and taking longer to recall the fact that bears even ate honey in the first place. It wasn't until then that the Prince discovered just how pointless his sleep had been, so distubed and troubled that he had no recover of rest at all it seemed! “that was only a joke. I know very well what you meant. Now though we should get you ready to go… ” Go? The Prince blinked back the threat of the slumber that lurked heavily upon his expression. A yawn was forced down, causing Scott's head to lower in a meek attempt to hide the scrunching up of his face as the inevitable victory of the yawn causing his lips to part and his lungs to drawn in a deep breath, even if as discreet as the Prince could manage.

“Tessa.. perhaps you step outside for a moment dear while I help Scott finish dressing?" Yes! The Prince's head lifted and his eyes focused gratefully on the doctor's offering to help the fairy dress. Trying to straighten his posture, Scott sat a little more awake, watching Tess for her response with a comforting little smile returning to his lips.

"Of course," A shy little emotion crept from Tessa as she turned and walked from the room, the soft click of the door heard as the golden lockes of the girl vanished from sight behind the closing door. From the door, Scott turned his gaze towards Hank, with a slow blink meeting the doctors gaze and a friendly smile accompanying the youth's thankfullness towards being helped getting dressed up more properly.

"Thank you," The soft voice seemed infinitely more gentle even compared to his usual tenderness, though tired and grateful combined was reason enough for his quiet tone. "Your kindness itself is a powerful healing tool." After all, a doctor without kindness is like a fire dragon without fire.. still weilds great strengths, and yet something always seems to be missing. Speaking of dragons... there was a small stuffed dragon that Scott found himself once again longing for.. the soft scents that were as soothing as they were protective.

Re: That's what friends are for.
As soon as Tessa left the room some at least of the embarrassment Scott had been feeling at his predicament faded visibly. "Thank you," he said gratefully "Your kindness itself is a powerful healing tool." Hank returned the smile that Scott gave him, the words of appreciation unnecessary but gratefully received all the same. Especially at that precise moment in time!

Being a doctor was endlessly and totally fulfilling. But god knows sometimes it was hard. There were decisions to be made, difficult ones, with a patient’s life often hanging in the balance ready to wink out if you got it wrong. Like Paige’s was hanging now. And the choice he had made in order to save her was one that weighed heavily on his heart and on his conscience.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. Wasn’t that how the saying went? And Hank knew that it was true. There had been many situations during his long career when he had been obliged to do things for the good of his patients that they had hated him for, at least at the time. But this was the first time he was actually going to put one student through hell for the sake of another. And even if Michael was a willing victim it still didn’t make it any easier.

Would Scott still think he was kind if he knew what was going on? Or would those innocent violet eyes look at him very differently? Hank sighed. He couldn’t afford to dwell on such things. Not with an empath at his side. So instead he accepted Scott’s words gratefully and let them warm his heart as the fairy had meant them to do. And in doing so he felt a little better.

“Well thank you for saying so” he told Scott softly. “Now let us see if we can’t get you dressed and ready to leave” Huge hands that could so easily be used for destruction gently supported the frail fairy, helping him to ease the gossamer wings and injured arm into the waiting shirt.

It was obvious that he couldn’t have managed on his own and that would probably be the case for some days to come. Which, Hank suspected, was something else that neither Scott nor Tessa had fully thought through. Having witnessed his patients reaction to merely having his female team mate present when he was about to get dressed, the doctor doubted that he would actually let her help with the process. Which left only one solution!

“You’ll probably be wanting to change back into your pyjamas when you get to the guest room” Hank said matter of factly. “I very much doubt that you’ll feel like doing much more than popping straight back into bed at the moment. “ Just looking at the tired expression on Scott’s face he could see that he wasn’t far from the truth and indeed sleep and rest would play as big a part in the fairies recovery as any of the medicine Hank could proscribe. “So….why don’t I come down with you and help you get settled in?" Hank offered kindly And while we’re doing that Tessa could perhaps pick up some essentials from your room. Aribeth for example? Michael mentioned that you would like to have her with you. But so far I haven’t had time to have her fetched. I’m sure Tessa would be happy to do that for you.”

“Oh and Scott” Hanks voice was as reassuring as always and his yellow eyes sparkled with understanding. “Whenever you need help like this….if you want to go for a shower or simply to get up and sit around for a while……just use the com badge and I will come down and give you a hand. As I said you must consider me part of the team for the next few days. And team mates can always call on one another in times of need, now can’t they?”

Re: That's what friends are for.
“Well thank you for saying so” A brighter smile come to Scott, it was always common practice to be polite in his family, the rank of his position in sociaty was only part to do with the mannerisms in which his family strongely believed. But sometimes other peoples reactions to what Scott felt as deserved and sincere honest thanks or comments and opinions seemed to give a return of gratitude. Humans didn't say thank you a lot, that was something Scott had noticed, a few did, but not all, and especially not the younger more loudly ones.

“Now let us see if we can’t get you dressed and ready to leave” Now it was Scott's turn to be appreciative again, as the young fairy helped wiggle his aching form into the shirt with Hank's assistance.

“You’ll probably be wanting to change back into your pyjamas when you get to the guest room” The word pyjama's was still new to the fairy but by this point in his language skills Scott was able to figure it referred to... well.. an item of clothing. "I very much doubt that you’ll feel like doing much more than popping straight back into bed at the moment." A nice warm cup of overly sweet chocolate and a small bowl of warm honey.. as soon as Scott even thought of the treats the very comfort he knew they brought was enough to cause his eyes to droop closed for a moment of content thoughts. When he had his sleep he might go about trying to get something sweet into his stomach, until he slept thoughh he didn't think he'd get much done. But sleeping was so hard... the nightmares kept him up and there was no comfort like he had been used to back home. Knowing his mother was within running distance if it was ever too bad he couldn't go back to sleep.

"So….why don’t I come down with you and help you get settled in?" The gesture was nice but Scott had the feeling there were far more pressing matters that needed to be dealt with and the Prince was on the verge of discouraging the doctor from making too great an effort, however his full attention was distracted as Hank continued to speak. "And while we’re doing that Tessa could perhaps pick up some essentials from your room. Aribeth for example? Michael mentioned that you would like to have her with you. But so far I haven’t had time to have her fetched. I’m sure Tessa would be happy to do that for you." Aribeth!! A brighter smile spread across Scott's expression instantly, he could almost feel himself trying to breath in the toy's precious aroma. ...Surely Tessa won't think anything of it, she was far younger then him, and he was only 13 centuries, children usually had toys still scattered about their room for a few handful of centuries more. True the boys did grow out of them quicker.. but not all young fairies were out on their own in a strange new world without their family and without all they know as secure comforts.

“Oh and Scott” The healer continued, trying to sound as assuring as a parent when about to remind a child of what they should know as obvious but at the same time, due usually to their age, need to be reminded just in case. “Whenever you need help like this….if you want to go for a shower or simply to get up and sit around for a while……just use the com badge and I will come down and give you a hand. As I said you must consider me part of the team for the next few days. And team mates can always call on one another in times of need, now can’t they?” Shyly the fairy nodded his head, which in itself felt heavy from the lack of restful sleep.

Carefully, and once his clothes had been fully buttoned and secured, Scott eased himself off the edge of the bed, a single hand continuing to grasp out and keep hold of the darker till both legs were steady and ready to support the enchanted being. It would be rude to keep Tess out there on her own too long, he knew it was silly to be so shy of getting dressed in front of her, considering how he grew up he should be used to it and it was more personal and private for him around a girl he didn't know a great deal about, though very much liked her company and indeed strived to learn more about her.

Again Scott expression his appreciation as they walked from the room, offering Tessa also an appreciated smile upon seeing her. If nothing else, this was at least a chance to get to know her.. or perhaps was it more important for her to get to know him? The impression he got lead to the Prince believing the latter to be more true, she longed so much to know of his people, and finally she has a chance to learn what she can off him. Maybe great tales of his people had to wait till he was better though... A soft whisper went from Scott and was aimed almost playfully towards Tessa, though the fairy knew full well Hank could still overhear him.

"I try to assure him we will behave, but somehow I'm not sure he entirely believes.." Rest, lots of rest, that's what he knew was expected, but at the same time... he was obviously going to talk to Tessa. But one thing he always got told off for was his reluctance to sleep if something exciting was happening, and Scott rarely got his sleep overs, and usually when he did, Arlen and he were so protectively watched that they almost felt too awkward to play. Though admittedly it was fun trying to lose the palace guards whenever he stayed over at Arlen's... But he didn't misbehave as badly when Arlen was over with the Devark's. Still... Scott would take whatever chance he had to chat away the night if given the chance and he knew that Tessa had a fair few questions she was always eager to ask. Though Scott's idea of 'misbehaving' was hardly anything compared to what most teachers dealt with on a day to day basis, staying up telling tales of family and life stories was hardly a law breaker worthy of punishments.
