Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
The attack on his mind left Marc confused, but one moment he was in a bar and the next he was out in the dark, surrounded by other rogue Agents that where out to destroy the organizations they have betrayed and left. Of course this fear was induced by yet more brain washings, hoping the agents would kill any rogue runaways on sight.

"Racheal, guys!" Connor's arm rose up for a moment to catch their attention as he yelled out over shadows, promptly remembering unlike him, they would have trouble seeing him even if he was jumping up and down on the spot. His agility helped him avoid anyone who dared approached too closely and risk touching him while the feral made his way towards the door after Ben as he made his way for the exit.

Unfortunately their night was about to get worse, as if a terrible start to the day demanded a terrible finish to it as well, the movement of the mutants hand was, in his mind, an aggressive agent, and as a result, pulling out his weapon Marc shot a single fire towards the unsuspecting mutant (who really was having a run of bad luck lately, just like most of the others in the club from the institute). But as soon as he shot the mutant, Connor seemed to recover, Connor may be able to get shot like everyone else but he heals a heck of a lot fast then anyway around here, the pain in his back fading away quickly enough. Most of the people had screamed when the gun went off and where trying to flee from the nightclub thinking it was some sort of planned attack. The music and lights started up again after the short circuit was fixed, but it just all disorientated Marc more as bodies blurred together in their rushed movements for the exit.

"There's no point running mutant, you will be detained!" Needless to say, Marc had very little knowledge of the 'free world' like most people, it wasn't the wisest of things for him to be let out to mingle, but since A.Corp knew he'd just get into trouble, it meant they got to have more fun when things got messy, unfortunately for them, no mutants where harmed enough to be sent to any hospital where they would suddenly 'take a turn for the worst' and die, even if it was mild injuries, anything so that A.Corp could get a hold of more specimens.

Marc's hand angrily lashed out at the glasses on the bar beside him, shoving them over as he scolded himself for letting a freak get away, the idea he had shot someone didn't really register since his mind didn't take in things the same way normal peoples would, his brainwashings made everything seem and feel so vague for him.

ooc: And um.. sorry for all the short posts ... *Is ill.. and blames her illness on Loza*
------

The sound wasn't heard of the gun shot so al Connor felt was a sharp sting in his back and everyone suddenly rushing about, everything in Connor's world was still deathly quiet, he just figured someone walking into him and jabbed something into his back.. really, really hard. Well the young feral couldn't really think much, his body was being half shoved half dragged towards the exit with the rest of the people rushing towards it, he wondered what was happening.

Outside, having just passed Ben and but being kept away from him by some other people that where between them, Connor forced his way to the side of the doors and waited there for others to appear so he could pull them aside and maybe someone could tell him what on earth was going on.

Heath guided Lauren and Racheal towards the door, the whole tome his eyes darting around the club and searching for what had caused such a horrible noise as the one he had just heard. Well it had sent people into a panic, which he was glade he wasn't the only one it had scared, his hands remained on Racheal and Lauren, more so they didn't all get seperated, the girls both in front of him, but as they neared the door both his hands moved to Laurens shoulder as he nervously glanced about, allowing her to lead the way as people shoved into them, almost as if attempting to pull the Knight and mutant apart so that he was left on his own in this frightening room.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
(ooc- … Of course it’s MY fault! I e-mailed you ya sickness! *Takes all the credit*)

Looking up to the lights as they flickered above everyone in the nightclub Lauren saw them die a split-second later. Frowning instantly. Why did the power have to go out on this night? Why not on some other night when she wasn’t there! Although, if she had of known the reason for the blackout, she probably wouldn’t have been as disappointed.

Moving her gaze from where the lights had been working just a moment before, the luck-altering mutant looked around her. Her eyes squinting to try and make out the dark figures of everyone in the surrounding blackness. If she thought about it, Lauren probably could have been able to use her power to give her good eyesight in the darkness. It wouldn’t have been the first time luck would have helped with her sight, when she dived deep into the lake to save a drowning Heath, Lauren’s emotional luck had enabled her to see underwater. That was the advantage of luck-altering powers, luck come in many shapes and sizes. The bad part was, it was way too unpredictable…

"Please tell me this is just a bad day.." Just because she couldn’t see, didn’t mean Lauren didn’t know that it was Racheal talking to her as her ears took a brief moment to register whose voice she had heard. Her reply was a nod, though it wasn’t of much use in the lightless club but her mind was slow to register that fact.

Faintly, over the nervous murmurs of the others in the Dying Star, she heard what her ears told her was Connor’s voice, but she wasn’t sure what was said, only recognising the voice. That wasn’t much use since he couldn’t be seen. However, her reply to the next sound was like many others under the same roof as a gun shot was fired, though her scream was much more shorter than the others. Her hands raising to cover her mouth, as she felt a little embarrassed, yet very nervous, though she couldn’t be blamed after hearing a gun shot and not knowing where it came from was scary enough, but the darkness seemed to make it much worse.

As the lights came back on Lauren saw everyone rushing to the doors in a panic, but her head quickly turned to make sure Racheal and Heath were still there. She felt a little comfort, being able to see them. Distracted by everyone still rushing, Lauren looked watched them all. She didn’t understand why everyone had to push and shove to be the first one out. Well, sure, someone had a gun and wasn’t afraid to use it, but couldn’t more trouble be caused if the pushing and shoving went on? Though she could hardly expect everyone to walk casually out, holding hands in pairs.

Soon enough she found herself in the rushing crowd struggling to the door. With the lights on, it didn’t look as far away but with a tidal wave of rushing people the door seemed a mile off. Every now and then she looked nervously around her, half expecting whoever had the gun to step out of the crowd and start shooting again. That was the bad thing about an over-active imagination, it can often jump into ‘panic mode’ and come to the worst of conclusions when there was worry about.

Feeling Heath’s hands on her shoulders made the luck mutant feel a little safer somehow. But she felt much safer once the three of them were outside, quickly brought to the side by Connor, which was probably pretty good since the way everyone else was rushing the two mutants and the Knight would have ended up being pushed onto the road!

Breathing a sigh of relief to be outside, Lauren could feel her heartbeat rushing which was obviously caused from the panic inside, though it was beginning to slow down now. The luck mutant looked back over to the doorway to see people still streaming outside, being slightly thankful for not having to still be stuck in the crowd.

"Wha… What happened in there?" It was the most obvious of questions to be asked once everyone got outside and one that would have been plaguing the minds of everyone else, just Lauren was the first to say it. Her voice yet to calm down as it remained slightly nervous, as she turned her gazed back to everyone else as she spoke. Though she felt that it was unlikely she was going to get a proper answer.

I guess I can’t give myself a little luck before my Science Test then?"

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
The open door providing enough light for the feline's eyes to have adjusted to the darkness, she once more pushed back the instinct to morph, as the sound of the shot made her jump, her wish for the ability to show animalistic emotiongs stronger. Even so, her mind seemed to hit auto-pilot, having heard her fair share of gunshots in the past, this one didn't faze her much, except the light had allowed her to see more of the situation when she had turned round quickly at the noise than she wished. Widdened slits absorbing the new light swiftly, she didn't keep her eyes on the doorway as Heath lightly guided herself and Lauren towards the exit. Not that much guidence was needed, the rushing people were enough to direct anybody to the doorway.

Keeping her balance easily, as well as avoiding the crush as much as possible, she was slightly grateful to Heath when his hand left her back, feeling that she now had a little more freedom to escape the outflux of people. Although it meant she strayed a little from the other two, she turned her eyes from the crowd to them, before looking towards the exit.

Although Racheal doubted that the night was yet over, she felt a flood of relieve having stepped out of the club. It just didn't seem to be her day today, but the feral stepped with relative ease from the crowd soon having left the club. Automatically, she ran her hands over the top of her trousers as if straightening a crease, before her eyes lifted from her atire to the crowd and club.

She had left the crowd a little later than she had hoped, and spotting Connor, Lauren and Heath, she made her way towards them, uncertain yet for the first time not that confused. Later, maybe she would actually realise that she had no idea what was going on then, and that she was acting on instinct alone, but at the time she just shook her head at the situation in thought, undoing the only part of the morph she had accidently begun, her vocal chords, the loss of them allowing her telepathic speech, though she was not completely sure that it would work on another than her brother. Even though she had regained her ability to speak, she kept silent as she walked up to them, catching Lauren's words as she reached them.

"Wha… What happened in there?" The feral glanced at Connor briefly, inside her sharpened vision had caught much of what had happened. She shruged slightly, more to herself, not sure what exactly had happened, but the results had been clear enough. The feline-mutant had little idea of the other feral's healing ability, though Connor didn't seem affected by what she believed she had seen.

"Are you alright?" Strangely, she sounded calm. Perhaps her background made her more used to the happenings of the streets, and she saw this as little more than that. As she spoke though, her eyes moved passed Connor to the doorway, frowning at the scene before them.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
This night was just going from bad to worse, just as Ben had though the end was in sight a whole new series of events unfurled before him.

As he stood quietly in the doorway waiting for a glimps of the others he had come here with, chaos errupted around him. People were screaming and running toward the door and therefore toward him. The sound of their panic washed over him, but nothing was as worrying as the sound that had stated the stampeed. Although Ben had lived in a quiet town up until today, his extensive viewing of films told him that i had been the sound of a gun being fired.

As he had turned at the noise in order to try and make out where it had come from. It was easy for the panicking crowd to push past him. He stood by the side of the door dumstruck, how could it be that someone could get into a club with a gun? His live had most definatly changed in the space of this one day and he was starting to suspect that it wasn't going to go back to what it was any time soon.

While standing there he caugh sight of Connor as he passed outside with the rest of the crowd, and although the only thing on Bens mind was to find the others he just couldn't seem to find a break in the flow of humanity pushing past him. And so he waited till it was possible to pass through the door with ease and once outside he glanced around to try and spot the others.

After having located them in the crowd he attempted to make his way through the frightened groups of people standing outside. As he walked he pulled on his sun glasses so as to shield his eyes. Making his way to the others was proving more difficult than he had expected, he considered calling out to them but decided he would probably not be heard over the aggitated conversations being held.

Ben decided that he better stop and look around in order to find the easiest route towards them.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
The young mutant wasn't having a good night, not only had some over large male oaf stood on her foot, which now felt like it had been severly squished but the guy she'd set her heart on that evening had ended up going off with his arm around some pretty blonde. Now to top it all off she was being pushed and shoved along with a mass of other people who were all rushing for the door after the sound of a bullet had rang out though the club. Jess wasn't too worried about being shot, afterall she could easily turn the gun into stone so it couldn't fire at her. She was wearing a small black halter top, definatley something she souldn't have bene doing at this time of year and a pair of long back trousers that almost reached the floor. At her waist was a belt which was the same shade of red as her boots.

'Hey watch it!' Someone had just elbowed her roughly out of the way as they shoved their way past her, desperatley trying to reach the exit. The momentum had knocked her sideways into someone who seemed to be the only person in the nightclud who was standing still. 'Can't you look where you're going?' She snapped at the guy she'd just almost fell ontop of, trying to keep her balance in the knee high red stiletto boots she was wearing. There was no way it was the guys fault that she'd jsut cannoned into him but Jess wasn't in any mood to apologise to anyone, in fact she only ever said sorry when she had something to gain from it. She flashed him an angry look from her green eyes, her hair which was dyed a dark shade of red was beginning to fall out of the clip she'd put it up in due to the fact peole kept knocking into her.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
There had been a moment were Connor realized he was still wearing his plugs, could be why he couldn't hear the panicking screams of anyone and francly he wasn't too keen to remove them any time soon if it was jsut going to cause him to have echoing blasts of sound thrashing against his sensitive ear drums. But Lauren approached, her lips where moving and then Racheal was making her way towards them as well, he inwardly sighed as he reached up to remove the plugs, the sounds all rushing back in like a roll of thunder since he was so used to the silence.

"...you alright?" The first word she had said was blurred and muddled within all the other sounds but he managed to get the rest of it easily enough, it was odd, no one really would ask him if he was alright, he assumed it was because he must have looked like he was in discomfort after he removed his ear plugs.

"I'm alright, is everyone else OK?" Since he was deaf at the time, Connor hadn't got the faintest idea what had caused the panic, his eyes scanned everyone quickly to see if they where cradling any unjuries, noticing then that Ben wasn't around he hastily scanned the crowd for his face. Upon seeing Ben attempting to make his way over to them, Connor let some of the worry fade away, though as usual it was hard to tell what he was thinking or feeling.

"I think that was all my fault," Connor addmited, actually managing to sound a little guilty, though he didn't really know the truth of the matter, "I borrowed your powers Lauren and cast some bad luck so that the lights and sound went out, though.. I can't understand what would be so scary about a black out." Connor frowned a little but stared back at Ben, well if he needed to scare a handful of people to help a fellow student then he would gladely go for the scare tactics. "I only did the electricity system, nothing else was effected." Unlike Lauren, Connor had full control of the powers he borrowed from her, in face he had better control of them then he did of his own powers, though his Claws don't pop out as often as they used to when they weren't wanted, which was good, though he had to admit he was a little jealous over how his youngest sister mastered them so quickly, unlike he and Madison, Madison being the unluckiest.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
Everything started to unfurl extremely quickly, the loss of lights was obviously something to do with another group of mutants as Marc's attention was soon detered from Taylor to another group who seemed to be having problems in the middle of the club. But something extra seemed to come over Marc, an extra bout of fear at the mutants who were close to him, as if Taylor's threat was now coming from everyone in the club.

Things seemed to slow down for a moment as Taylor helplessly watched the anti-mutant human pull out a gun, a weapon that Taylor had much dedain for. As if his reactions were as quick as Taylors the deadly fire arm was unholstered and pointing towards the group of mutants who were attempting to leave the Dying Star amoung the flurry of confused people. The human pulled tightly on the trigger and Taylor watched as the bullet travelled at light speed and inbedded itself into the back of one of the mutants.

Suddenly panic flooded the room, people either looking at the gunner or the victim. Taylor was quick to realise the mutant who had been hit was not seriously hurt as they were engulfed in hordes of others now attempting to get out and away from the gunman.

Taylor could see that Marc too realised that he hadn't hurt his victim and lashed out, glasses smashing across the bar, their contents spilling in all directions.

Anger began to boil in Taylor, and he couldn't stop it from rising. As the lights came on the full anger and disgust was seen in Marc's face, how could someone be so racist towards people that had done nothing but be in the same visinity as him. Without thinking Taylor quickly lunged for Marc's hand that still gripped tightly on the gun he had moments ago fired. As Taylor's large hand tightly squeezed Marc's the two men's eyes met; "Wrong..choice.." Taylor said bitterly through clentched teeth.

Taking grasp of his powers the power wielding mutant allowed enough chrage to flow from his body into Marc's that it shocked him into dropping the gun, his electric fast reactions, aided by his martial arts background, doing all this in a flash. As the mutant haters grip on the gun released, it slowly dropped to the darkened floor below. Before Marc had a chance to react to Taylor's assault a second more powerful shocked filled him from the cheek across as Taylor swung a heavy punch across his face. As the elcetricity mutant let ago allowing Marc's boddy to slide across the dance floor he grabbed up his jacket and ran; ran fast.

The yellow mutant used his agility powers to dive through the crowd and quickly appear outside the club, looking around as still more people poured out into the cold night his eyes quickly locked to the group of mutants making their escape and then across again to lock directly with the woman he had only half hour ago been so intregued by.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
The attack of electricity did more damage that Taylor would ever know, since he had fled, the implants in the Initiative soldiers had one fault right now, and that was they where sensitive to electrical charges. The mind numbing pain at first with just the small shock was bad enough, Marc barely felt the gun slip from his fingers, everything was going black and yet there where bloches of lights all around him, his vision struggling to cope under the stress he was feeling. The mutant mumbled something, and an instant later there was an even more powerful charge striking him, Marc's body both jerked back and was forced back by the force of the attack.

Clutching to his head in sheer agony, Marc couldn't help but feel as if something terribly awful had just happened, if that mutant kept fighting him there would be no chance for Marc to defend himself unless he got his gun and killed it. But when Marc staggered to his feet he was surprised to see most of the place was now empty, but stumbled a little towards the bar in order to reach out with his hands and steady himself.

There was a sudden burst of anger again within him, he couldn't help it really, it wasn't his fault, if they could just get him away from all the drugs and fix up all the horendous brainwashings he's endured then he might actually be a pleasent person. But he wasn't as lucky as another Agent of the Initiative that managed to escape, he didn't have someone who was risking their life to keep him from being recaptured.

Slamming his fist into the bench, he cast a glare towards his gun, running over towards it, the operative scooped up his weapon and then checking it was still in working condition he stalked quickly towards the door. His arm was down by his side so anyone nearby - even a really pretty girl that would have normally gotten his attention - wouldn't notice his side arm. Only once he was at the entrance did he moved the gun from down at his side to aiming directly towards the yellow skinned mutant. Of course, right now Marc felt like he had a drill digging its way into his head from the explosion of pain his head implant caused when it firm grip on his weapon he seemed a little off balance and tried to focus on the bright skinned man not too far away, but Marc felt so terribly dizzy and sick, only everything inside him screaming that he had to detain this freak for assulting him in such a way.. Marc had no idea just how many freaks he was really up again.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
"I'm alright, is everyone else OK?" It was only by the tone of his voice that Racheal realised that he didn't seem to have realised what had happened. It puzzled her though, that he didn't even seem to have a slight idea about what happened. She would have said something, if the other feral had not continued.

"I think that was all my fault," ... "I borrowed your powers Lauren and cast some bad luck so that the lights and sound went out, though.. I can't understand what would be so scary about a black out." ... "I only did the electricity system, nothing else was effected." Racheal shook her head slightly, inwardly she came close to a smile. Perhaps these were one of the times her night vision would actually come in handy.

"If it's your fault that some idiot decided to wield a gun, then feel free to blame yourself. As far as I could see in there, no one else was hurt - the gun seemed to be aimed at you.." Her eyes had narrowed slightly as she spoke. She had thought the shot had been successful, it looked like it should have been, but she couldn't be a hundred percent sure that she was completely correct. She said nothing about the black out though, she didn't truely know what had happened in there, just what she had seen and heard. But the fact that someone had a gun unnerved her slightly, her dislike for the weapon as instictive for her as for anyone else.

Eyes turning back to the mass of people, she shook her head in thought. Despite it all, she couldn't help thinking that they had acted in a way that reminded her of sheep, or maybe horses. The fact that they seemed to crowd together in a time of danger proved one thing to her, humans were instictively herd like animals, needing the saftey provided by others. Perhaps not all humans were like that, the feral thought as her mind turned to the unidentified gun-wielder. Even if she was to see the man then, she doubt she would recognise him. Even for her eyes, the club had been too dark at the time. Some humans were hunters, that was sure, and loners at that sometimes.

Her thoughts had been brief, inspired by her better understanding of animals than humans, and she broke them easily to bring her gaze back to her small group, silently hoping things wouldn't get worse today, but somehow doubting her own prayer.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
While attempting to find the best route back to the others, Ben was suddenly stumbled into by a red haired girl. As he turned his attention to her, she looked at him angrily with her large green eyes.
'Can't you look where you're going?' Ben felt his jaw go slack of all the things he was expecting her to say that had been the last. It wasn't his fault she had run into him he had been standing still and hadn't even seen her coming.

Gathering his thoughts he decided that it could be that she was scared, she certainly looked bedragled, so he decided to be as nice to her as he could manage after the day he'd had.
"i'm sorry, i didn't see you there. I'll be more carefull next time" He cringed at the sarcasm he heard in his own voice, oh well she should of payed more attention to where she was going anyway.

As he when back to scanning the crowd it was starting to look like he might be able to rejoin the group by heading back toward the door of the club and then round. At that precise moment in time a yellow skinned mutant appeared in the doorway of the club. He seemed to be pretty distressed, and was looking around as if to find the best way to flee. Ben had never seen a mutant whos's powers were reflected in his outer appearance, he couldn't even begin to imagin what life must be like for someone like that.

Out of necessity to reach the others and also partly out of curiosity, Ben started to head of toward the door and the yellow skinned mutant.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
"i'm sorry, i didn't see you there. I'll be more carefull next time" The note of sarcasm didn't go unnoticed by the stone mutant, fixing him with a rather fridgid glare from her green eyes ... why the little freak!! Thinking he could talk to her ... a muant.. like this. She didn't know that he was a mutant himself, she hadn't been at the school too long and she didn't know that many people. The girl she'd been closest to, Catherine Hall had gone off to Iowa with her boyfriend leaving Jess to try and settle into the school by herself.

She hadn't had an easy life so far and it had developed her into someone who had a rather selfish personality, as she saw it the world hadn't given her anything, therefore she didn't owe the world, or anyone in it anything. Jess was gifted with powers she'd learn that weren't connected with any mutant powers, the ability to lie well, to get close to people and use them for her own ends. As a business woman she'd have been highly sucessful, as it was the high school drop out wouldn't amount to much in an academic way. If however Xavier was content to just sit by and support her she found it in her to turn upto some lessons and at least put on a front of trying to learn even if she did spend most of the lessons off in a little world of her own.

'Little freak.' The muttered words were thrown at his back as he turned and walked off along with another black glance before she turned and pushed and shoved her way towards the enterance of the club.

She recognised a couple of the people who were standing outside, Connor she knew by sight and another girl that was with him Lauren. The rest of the party she didn't know but she had a couple of lessons with the luck mutant and had talked with her a little. She was by no means what Jess would call a friend but she couldn't see either of the girls she'd come here with tonight and Jess would rather be with these people than wandering around by herself looking like a lonar.

'Hey Lauren.' The stone mutant had recovered her usual coolness as she adressed the other girl. She wasn't about to let the others see how ruffled she'd been back in the club, her hands were already reaching behind her head to let her red hair tumble down around her shoulders. 'It is Lauren isn't it?' She fixed the girl with a rather intense stare as if she could phsyically draw the information from the other girl. Her eyes slipped across however as she noticed the movement of Heath who was standing next to her, she let a charming smile slip across her lips as she looked at him.

"If it's your fault that some idiot decided to wield a gun, then feel free to blame yourself. As far as I could see in there, no one else was hurt - the gun seemed to be aimed at you.." There was a gun in there!? Well that would explain why everyone panicked, Connor had no clue with his ear plugs that kept all the sounds out, while everyone was screaming in panic his world was silent and empty of all noise, the extreme opposite of what he was usually used to. But at her last words he stared rather in dismay at her, there had been someone pointing a gun at him?

A flare of anger burned inside him for a minute, though outwardly the only way they could tell he didn't like the idea of being a target was by the way he frowned slightly again. How dare someone point one of those things at him! But unlike everyone else he had perfect vision, he should have seen someone with a gun.. unless it was behind him.. Looking rather baffled by everything, Connor thought back to the sharp pain that struck him so hard in the back, even he sometimes would be amazed by his healing abilities, he would have assumed a gunshot wound would hurt more and last longer, but like all things it would start closing moments after being inflicted.

"I couldn't hear anything.. if I don't wear the special ear plugs the loud noises inside would damage my hearing," So when Connor says he goes to 'listen' to his friend singing or such, normally he is just there for the sake of them seeing him there instead for his own enjoyment. He had removed them now, holding them in his palm for a moment before slipping them into his jean pockets. Well there was one way to find out if he was hit or not, though he couldn't bring himself to believe he had a gun aimed at him and he didn't know. It was really difficult for him to be so helpless in a place that - for once in his life - numbed most of his senses, with all the perfumes and such it also made breathing hard for him.

Connor's hands grabbed onto his shirt from behind his neck, pulling it off from his back to figure out if he had been some moving target for some 'idiot' as Racheal described the shooter so accurately in Connor's mind. He didn't mind removing his shirt because he had his singlet underneath still, otherwise he wouldn't have dared, especially with girls about. But Connor focused on the back of his black shirt, scanning it quickly with his keen eyes. Again he seemed to frown as his finger played with the hole in the back of his shirt, well that sucked, he was shot, but it wasn't the fact he was hurt that bothered him, he still had the bullet inside his body, he'd have to go and get it removed from the medical lab.. Shivers run down his spine at the thought of going back into the lab, or any lab for that matter.

Most definitely Connor did not look too pleased, his white singlet has a small spill of blood staining the back where the bullet hit him, but Connor was more focused on staring at the people coming out of the night club, slipping his now ruined top back on as he thought. He had every right to be paranoid, he has had A.Corp after him and his sister for a while now, clear over half a year, and the fact Racheal said the gun was pointed at him made him think someone intentionally tried to kill him and knew who he was. But that didn't make sense, he's been standing here and no one has tried to attack him again, wouldn't they try and finish what they started?

"Then it can't be the brotherhood, as dumb as they are they wouldn't do something like this and most certainly wouldn't try and shoot me.. they know my family well enough to figure out that wouldn't work." Although in truth he wondered how Madi would have stood up against a gunshot, his healing powers where the most advanced compared to them, each of the siblings had their different talents regarding each powers they have. Arisa was best with keeping her claws in check, even though she didn't fight as much with them as Connor and Madison did, Madison was best with gathering and holding onto the others of other mutants far better then Connor. Since Arisa's mother is Mystique then she doesn't have Michelle Enright’s power, only Madison and Connor have their mothers mutant powers, the ability to mimic other mutant abilities. Connor was advanced in two different sections with his powers, his healing was far greater then his other siblings, equal to the first Wolverine, his father, but unlike Madison, he had superb senses, then again Arisa had good senses as well, but Connor's out weighed all of them, not that it was something he was enjoying.

The thought that he was just caught in the mess and had nothing to do it was hard for him to realize just now, most of the people had now poured out of the club. He would go back and look for who was stupid enough to shoot him in the back, something that irritated Connor more then the fact he was shot, just that Connor couldn't SEE who did it was eating away at him.

However his attention was drawn towards the girl who approached them, at least they where forming a group, safer in numbers right? Though he would prefer to get them all out of the area right away, he went quiet when Jess approached, mainly because she addressed Lauren and Connor was half surprised Lauren talked with someone of her type.

Heath had nervously dropped his gaze from the new girl who smiled over at him while he hid behind Lauren, the old Knight barely understood half of what was being said or happening, and the new arrival of the.. oddly dressed girl.. was making him even more nervous. But he knew at least he was safe with Lauren around, she wouldn't let any one, female or otherwise, try and use Heath, since most of the time in his world a girl dressed like this wanted something, and normally it was the mans body in return for money or other items they can steal while their one time partner was asleep, either way, her kind did not have a good reputation in his time, and so he felt awkward about them, even in this time, it mind having a hard time accepting the change in fashions and attitudes.

"Maybe we should get the rest of the students from the Institute and head home before anything else happens." Connor stated though his eyes where focusing on the commotion still occuring about the doorway, it was near impossible to figure out was exactly was happening, some people wanted to go back in, others wanted to get out, guards where struggling to handle the outbreak of fights that had started in some groups, one guy having knocked over another guys date and their groups getting into a fight over that matter, forgetting the original thing that had caused the panic in the first place.

"I couldn't hear anything.. if I don't wear the special ear plugs the loud noises inside would damage my hearing," Nodding slightly in response, she fell quiet now, mainly because the subject had been brought up before. It still surprised her that he seemed more concerned over the fact that he didn't hear the gunshot, rather than the fact that if he had been shoot, like she assumed, he hadn't seemed to realise it. But, glancing round again at the nervous people now moving away from the club, she decided against asking any questions yet. Later there would be time.

Watching as he checked his shirt, her euebrows rose when she realised that she had been right, and again that if she hadn't said anything then he may not have realised. Inwardly, she sighed to herself. Okay, so the feral had learnt alot today, but it seems that she had only skimmed the surface of it all.

"Then it can't be the brotherhood, as dumb as they are they wouldn't do something like this and most certainly wouldn't try and shoot me.. they know my family well enough to figure out that wouldn't work." She withheld the instictive question about this 'brotherhood', letting herself remain in the dark, ignoring any possible rise in confusion. The frown hadn't left her face since leaving the club, still concerned about the fact that the shooter could still be close by.

Her gaze moved from the crowd to this other who approached the small group. Racheal watched this other girl carefully at first, till she called out to Lauren. If this other knew the group, the feral doubted that in such a situation any possible 'enemy' would approach. It didn't mean she wasn't alittle more cautious, her nerves on edge, despite her calm appearance, though it wasn't surprising in the situation.

"Maybe we should get the rest of the students from the Institute and head home before anything else happens." Turning her attention back to Connor, she nodded slightly, before realising something. Briefly her eyes turned back to the crowd, though even with her keen vision, she had difficulty telling one person from another, and she somehow missed the one person she had tried to see there.

"Erm, Has anyone seen Ben?" She turned her eyes back to the small group as she realised that she hadn't seen the other new comer since the gunshot had gone off.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
ooc: I don't like this library of yours!! *Shakes fists*
-----------

There was a pause, Marc's attention only slightly distracted by the horde of frantic people, there was the mutant though, his golden skin almost beckoning him to attack the freak. It was more then he was just a freak though, a mishape of nature, genetics gone wrong and twisted somewhere in the polluted gene pool. It was also because of what a threat he was, and the other, surely no human could run off after getting shot like that at such close range.

The worse thing in his life was a mutant though could hinder his attack so easily and render him immobile so easily, electricity was the Initiatives greatest set back with their implants, continuous charges of high voltage, or even low voltage, could cause the device inside their head to become faulty, going off without cause and endangering their lives unless a new one was replaced.. both expensive and also puts their soldiers out of duty for a good few days while they recover from the exessive addition of drugs.

Targeting the mutant, who's mutancy was easily detected by the color of his skin, Marc began to squeeze the trigger of his weapon, end the threat now before it caused him any further trouble. But within all the commotion, one girl saw the gun and screamed, causing a rush of movement about him as panic flared up again, though most had no clue what had caused someone to scream so loudly. As a result, as Marc had began to pull the trigger, his aim had been knocked off his target, instead the screaming bullet just nicking the man in the side of his arm, then shooting off towards the girl in its path, slamming hard against her shoulder.

Marc yelled rather angrily at this injustice, that is the second time luck has been on this freaks side, however at the yells of the security guards that where trying to calm everyone down before, Marc darted towards the back stage area of the nightclub. The human was running towards one of the walls however, lifting up his arm level with his chest so he could stare down at his watch face, his finger pressing one of the buttons. All of A.Corps Agents carried odd little devices, they'd need this one in order to get to the captives area under the A.Corp building, there are no doors or passages down to the holding cells beneath the structure, humans needed the teleporting devices to venture below there. Marc's body vanished as he hid in one of the corners, ducking down in hopes they couldn't see him leave. He may be permitted to kill mutants and demons, but to kill humans he needed autherization that he didn't have just yet and he want to get in trouble with his commander, of course, the fact he shot two people had already slipped his mind, anyway, he had intentionally been aiming for them.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
The commotion outside was frantic at best, but all of Angela's friends seemed to have disappeared, well, friends was a stretch of the word, they hadn't been overly nice to her, just pleasant enough to want her company.. although Angie wasn't aware they also hoped to use her apartment if they met any guys since their parents wouldn't allow boys to be brought home. In her arms she clung to Fear, her laptop slung over her shoulder, the black strap hard to see against her dark long coat but the lighter shade of grey case that held it was easy to catch sight of.

The brown orbs that watched in helpless dismay as people flocked out in near panic and alarm brimmed slightly with tears, stubborn enough to blink them back but weak enough to allow the moisture to build within her eyes, giving a slightly glazed look to them. Someone had got shot, and she was positive it was her fault, she didn't know he'd have a gun, she'd only ever use her powers on normal people before, normally they'd always get so scared they'd just run off, of course that's because most of the time they where her age.

There was also the added fact she was being flooded with the fear of all those around her, she wanted to run, she wanted to scream and be in just as much a panic as all the others, but it wasn't something she did.. running away, sure enough if it's too dangerous to stay, but running around screaming? Not unless her mother was around.

When no one came out bloodied and half collapsing on the ground, Angela thought they might still be inside, possible bleeding to death, if not dead already! The tears had been blinked away, but there was a fearful determination about her, stubbornly staying until she knew for sure if anyone had died because of her and her reckless abuse of her power. The appearance of the yellow skinned man caused her to clutch Fear a little tighter, the ghostly apparition was near impossible to see in the dark and all the confusion, it's glowing red eyes hidden away against her coat.

His eyes just stared at her, did he know it was her fault? It wasn't hard to see she looked terribly guilty about something, but even though she really wanted to drop her gaze away, she couldn't tear her eyes from what she was convinced to be an accusing stare of his. Her eyes shifted off to stare at the man behind him though, there where so many faces, but his just stood out to her, like some horrific nightmare waiting to pounce upon its prey. Another shattering sound exploded into the already panicked area, more screams bursting from the lungs of distraught bystanders.

A hot burning feel smashed against her shoulder though, ripping into her flesh and biting its way deeper into her body, which was forced to take a step back as the impact against her was so strong. Her right shoulder ached painfully, so much so that the weight of the laptop on her left shoulder could be felt and increased the agony even further. Her stumbling feet, trying to regain their footings only to have the weight of her beloved computer unbalance her further as she struggled to remain upright, only to fail miserably as she fell. Landing on her knees and stopping herself from hitting the ground face first by reaching out with her arms, only causing another burst of pain to rush through her right shoulder, and a rush of panic as she heard her computer hit the pavement, fear that it would be ruined, though a drop like that wouldn't damage it in the least. since it was only a short distance and was in its case as well.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
The commotion was immense, people scurried everywhere around Taylor, both mutant and human lookingn for people they were familiar with, someone they could find comfort and safety with. But even the approaching mutant from behind did not peque Taylor's interest, all he saw was that young woman, her laptop over her shoulder, her long brown hair tosseling over her shoulders. But something was reflecting in her eyes, she looked fearful, as if she had done something wrong.

The fear suddenly increased and a burning sensation ripped across his left arm, instinctivly his right had grasped up at the now bleeding wound, he had been shot! Or More precisly, missed. Turning while holding his burning arm to see the perpitrator he saw the same guy who had brandished the gun in the club long enough to disappear into the hordes of people behind.

Taylor's mind quickly went back to his wound, and then to the look in the young woman's eyes, the fear was for the bullet, the bullet that had passed him. Quickly turning back he watched as the same woman was now falling to the ground, an obvious bloody patch forming on her shoulder; she had taken the bullet that had been meant for him.

Taylor's feet lept into action, and he sped towards the fallen woman, hoping that she wouldn't be disgusted by a mutant going to help her, he was still no more in the know as to whether her previous stares had been the same as the glares he recieved from some mutants. Quickly kneeling down next to her, his larger arms gently took her and carefully rolled her off her hands and knees and leant her smaller form against his own, all the pressure and effort she had used to hold herself up now gone. His large golden hand moved to her wound and he felt her flinch as he lighty touched it. It was bad, the bullet was deep.

"It's going to be alright, I'm so sorry, this is my fault, that bullet should have hit me. Don't worry, I'm here to help, back where I am staying they can take care of this" Taylor spoke gently and could feel the panic flowing through the young mutant. Slowly Taylor noticed someting, something red, looking to his side a pair of deep glowing red eyes were staring at him defiantly, and suddenly something began to float softly over him, a feeling of fear and dread began to cover him as he was locked in a stare with the glowing red eyes of what now looked like some small spirit. Slowly the fear got worse and thoughts of helping the young woman who had intrigued her throughout the night began to drain away.

"Here...to..help" Taylor said a little softer as his grip began to loosen as the feelings of dread came over him.

Re: Sweet Misery - A Night Out at the Dying Star
As Ben neared the yellow skinned mutant, all hell broke lose again. As time appeared to slow, the sound of a scream quickly followed by that of a gunshot ripped through the air. Ben having been so near to the other mutant felt the rush of air that accompanied the passing of the bullet. His gaze followed the path it cut through the light particle, and to his relief saw it only skim its target.

It took a minute for Ben to realise how wrong he was, in a crowd this dense how could a bullet not hit someone? As he watched in horror as the yellow skinned mutant ran to the fallen girl, it took him what seemed like an eternity to arrange his thoughts.

Running up to the pair now sitting on the ground, he looked down at the other mutant. "Keep her still, I will get help." And in order to reassure the man whose life must be a constant effort to hide. "I know somewhere she can get help and you can both be safe"

As he made his way rapidly towards the others, he tried to order his thoughts. Connor would help he would know how to get them back to the school or at lest get the girl to a hospital. And the other mutant could seek refuge with them, they were after all the same. He tried to compose himself and calm the fear that was obvious on his face, so that he could make as much sense as possible when he attempted to explain everything.

When he finally reached the group he was out of breath and cursed his own stammering speech. "Connor.....get the car, there's a girl...and she's been shot. There is a mutant with her they need help." He hoped his plea would be enough to get people moving.
