"You do?" Was that a tease? It might as well have been a tease... and as if Matt could have just read Max's mind, the other's lips were pulling the Chadstone in, weakening him of his resistence as Matt's wandering hand toyed with him, teasing, tempting... damn it all.
"Alright," A moment of confusion struck Max, where he was upset Matt had the nerve to just back off and then remember that.. that was what Max had asked in a sense, just back off.. only for now.. just for the moment. So was there the urge to slap Matt for leaving him wound up like this? It was, after all, technically Max's own fault.
"Now don't you dilly-dally around. I'll be watching you." It was a bit... ominous really.. the way Matt could come and go from sight and yet still be able to see all others around him. And for a moment Max found himself staring towards the emptiness that he knew... or had figured.. Matt was still unseeingly standing within. The darkness was always bad enough, the fear that there just
might be something there, lurking in the shadows unseen, stalking towards him in the shadows of darkness.. and here was someone who could do just that. That thought, regardless of it being Matt or not, was enough to send slight tingles of fear down Max's spine.
"What are you doing hiding up here?" And with the familiar voice cutting through the paranoid thoughts towards the darkness and those who possess power over it, suddenly a whole lot more paranoid came flooding through the tear. Max turned with a startled jerk, his eyes quickly finding Lara who had tired of waiting, no one really interesting caught her eye and Hannah had gone off with some other bloke.. Max hardly seemed interested in sex at the moment as far as Lara was concerned otherwise they'd have left the moment he arrived. The startled look Max had given her however only caused an amused smile to caress her lips, a hidden chuckle heard somewhere within the tone of her voice.
"Still afraid of the things that go bump in the night?"
"Depends on who's doing the bumping." The innuendo came effortlessly, his only form of defence against her quip remarks. Though Max smiled nervously as ran a hand threw his hair in an attempt to tidy his appearence.. just in case it was more dishevelled then he'd realized.
"I'm going to head off, got long night ahead, full of all sorts of bumping." A far cry from the Max who had walked in with a dark cloud hovering over him, cramping her own good mood.. now he was the one skipping off and Lara found herself frowning slightly rejected as Max moved past her, making his way for the stairs and soon enough was out pf the club.
