Dinner @ Uwharrie work weekend 10-25-03
My husband and I have thought of fixing some soup (veggie/beef) or chili to bringing down for dinner on Saturday night. We would love to know which everyone would rather have. The majority will rule of course. Either way, if some of you would be so kind as to help by bring crackers, bowls and so forth that would be a great help to us. I don't know how many will be there so if you are planning to eat dinner with us that Saturday night, please drop us a line so we know how many to fix for.

Thanks to everyone!:D

I have the heat source, bowls/utensils for eating...

Talked with John and am sure Austin will agree they can both chip in to cover the crackers...

As far as choice, make it soup because I may end up doing another batch of chili for the crew this year as I did last year...

As far as how much to cook, that will be a guessing game because you never know who will show until that day... (You know the regulars however so go with that number and a few more...) Just remember these guys tend to eat a lot... Excluding Austin who will eat you out of anything left over... (The human food compactor...)

Sounds good to me. I do better soup than chili anyway. Glad to hear that John & Austin can handle the crackers, lol. And as far as the "human disposal", I have one of those at home too so I am used to that:D ! I'll make plenty anyway, I always fix too much.
Thanks to all that are helping out with the extras.
You guys are the Greatest, but don't tell Darrell cause he thinks he is. haha
You are too Darrell!;)

Well if he can eat that much soup I'll make him more. It's kinda like brunswick stew only not as thick. Make sure he drives his truck and has his own tent. After all this food he will be full of it!!!!

i have to pipe in and totally agree with Mark here - you truly have no idea how much Austin can eat - i thought i was the "human compactor" til i met Austin - the man put cheese spread from a can into a marshmallow and ate it - well so did John Blackage but i think it was from Austins prodding LOL

Marshmallows & spray cheese....yuck!! I guess if his stomach can handle it better him than me. lol
But there should really be plenty of food for him if he gets that hungry. I was lucky enough to see how he makes a sandwich. Remember though, he is still a "growing boy".
But many thanks for the warning.

Well as for my daughter coming with us, my oldest one won't be there but I will have my youngest with us. She can be kinda annoying to sometimes. She does however fight back when needed, lol so watch out;)
As far as the new food groups that you try to make, Hayley may get to it before you.

Hey... I have a question. When will you guys be arriving at Uwharrie? My only class on Fridays is done at 8:50am and I don't think attendance is even required... but I see no point in leaving early and getting there if no one else will be there yet. I'm thinking I can definitely make it, cause my first class Monday morning isn't unil 10am, so I don't have to rush to leave on Sunday.

Good... then I'll definitely leave early. Might as well make it as long a weekend as I can get away with!

I don't have class on Friday's at all so I can get there pretty early too. I do have work on Monday morning though but I don't usually get out of Uwharrie until late evening anyways. I used to try to leave early afternoon but I always end up staying late BS-ing...

Me and Hayley may come on down after she gets out of school that Friday. Not 100% sure yet, but then Darrell will be down after he gets off work. I would expect him by 2am at the latest anyway. But if not there Friday night, please save a spot for our tent, we will be there first thing Sat. morning.

Re: Dinner @ Uwharrie work weekend 10-25-03
I will definitely be leaving early Friday morning... will most likely be there by 2pm or so (unless I get excited like I did before the bash and end up not being able to sleep... then I'll get there by 8am or so). My class on Friday is optional... and I'm actually going to try to test out of this class... it's kinda a bs class and I already learned most of this stuff, so I think I can pass the test. Which would be awesome - if I lighten up my course load by 5 credit hours like that I'll have time to work more.

Hey... is anyone good at Physics? I have my midterm in that class after the work weekend... that class is going to kill me and my GPA!
