just *some* of my experiences (long post)
Hallo! This post is just copied and pasted from an email I just sent to a friend of mine...it's basically the same thing that's posted over at FearAfterHours.

I have said many times before how my house in Massachusetts was
haunted and
probably shared with you all the scariest experience I had, but now I
am going to share some, just SOME (remember we lived there for over
17 years), as I experienced them or as I was told them by family
members. Here they are:
I have had quite a few experiences myself...some of them are very
hard to believe, and if I hadn't heard them from reliable people (my
family) or hadn't lived through them myself, I never would believe
these stories...The earliest experience I have heard of happening was
shortly after my family moved in (my mom was still pregnant with me).
It was the summer of 1977 and my family had just got finished
watching a Red Sox game (my family are avid baseball fans) and they
were all getting ready to go to bed when all of a sudden the china
cabinet that we had in the dining room which was built into the
wall...it's doors came flying open and just at that moment the
curtains in the living room flew out like the windows were open and
the wind was blowing, but the windows were closed. I heard this story
from my brother Joe who was 6 at the time, he said he was so scared
that he slept with my parents that night. I asked my parents about
it, and they said that it did, indeed, happen. The next few stories
are sort of ramblings because I don't know which really happened
first. One time we all were coming home from my aunt's house and we
could see our house from the road that crossed with our road and
every single light was on in the house (even though everybody who
lived in the house was in the car at the moment), but when we pulled
into the driveway they were all off. My sister Jenn told me that her
scariest experience happened one night when she was going to bed and
everyone else was already asleep, and she got up and shut the light
off in the room, but when she laid down, the light came back on, and
this kept happening like 5 or 6 times. This was like 2 am, so no one
else was up, she would have been able to hear them because of how the
house used to creak from the wooden floors.

My brother Joe told me my brother Dave's scariest experience was one
night he was laying in his bed and he looked up and saw what he
thought looked like a flashlight coming up the stairs and it just
kept getting closer and closer to him and when it was right in front
of his face it turned into a human skull with red eyes and then
vanished. Now my scariest experience happened when I was about 10
years old and I was laying in bed and all of a sudden I heard the
cellar door slam and someone started walking across the kitchen
floor, I just thought it was my brother Dave with his workboots on,
but then when it got to the bottom of the stairs I knew it wasn't my
brother Dave when whatever it was turned the light on (my brother
never did that no matter how late it was) and then it started it's
ascent up the stairs and this was no one in my house's 'way' of
walking up the stairs, and then I got REALLY cold and couldn't move.
I also knew whatever it was it wasn't a human being because when it
walked across me and my sister's room it was hitting the hardwood
floor with it's feet and our room was such a mess there was no WAY it
could do that. Then it walked into my brother Dave's room and turned
the light on, opened his closet, turned the light on, and (2 of my
brother's closets were conjoined by the attic) it moved his clothes
aside, and walked all the way in and left all the lights on and all
the doors open. Yet when I woke up in the morning (I think I passed
out from complete fear), I was still alone upstairs, but all the
lights were off and all the doors were closed. And there were just
noises and voices, all the time coming from places when you knew no
one else was home. When I moved into my own room downstairs (it used
to be my father's office) it was right next to the kitchen (and the
cellar door)...and one night I heard the cellar door SLAM really
loud, and I was like 'wtf is going on?' and not even 5 seconds later
I heard this banging, and I was laying in my bed so I thought it was
someone banging on the outside of the house, but I sat up and
realized it was coming from the ceiling. On the other side of my
ceiling was the floor of the attic. My brother Joe (whose bedroom
closet was connected with my brother Dave's by the attic) also heard
that banging coming from inside the attic, A LOT. For some reason, it
sort of centered around my mother and whether or not she was in the
house. He said it happened every night while she was in the hospital
giving birth to me, and stopped after she came home. And he said it
also happened 6 years later when my mom had her first epileptic
seizure and was in the hospital for about a week, but once again, it
stopped after she came home. I believe that around the time I heard
the banging myself (on numerous occasions and it was always preceeded
by the cellar door slamming in my experiences) that my parents were
temporarily separated for 9 months. I also had this one experience
when I was about 4 years old that I have always considered to have
been a dream, but now I am not so sure... For some reason I was alone
in the house, (which was okay to do back in those days because my
neighbors knew us all very well and were very trustworthy) and I was
watching TV and then all of a sudden I heard the cellar door slam and
heard someone walking across the kitchen floor and I yelled
out 'Jenn? Joe? Is that you?', but got no reply. Just then I looked
up and saw this little man with a strange had and a funny stance
standing at the bottom of the stairs which led to the bedrooms up
there and the attic. I am not sure if it was a dream or not because
when I described the little man to my mother just a few months ago,
she said it sounded like 'The Captain'(which is what we called the
primary ghost who haunted our house)whom she had seen a few times in
full bodied apparition form. The Captain was a revolutionary war
Captain (as everyone knows Boston was the birthplace of the American
Revolution) and wore a 3 point hat (which would explain the funny hat
I
remember) and was quite short. To this day, I really can not recall
whether it was a dream or not. Also there were many times when my dad
would come home from work and see strange people looking out the
windows of the house, and when he would come in and ask who it was,
everyone would think he was crazy. There was also a young girl in a
Victorian dress that my dad saw just once, and she was walking
through the dining room towards my bedroom, which happened to have a
full length mirror in it, and some believe that full length mirrors
(or mirrors just in general) can be a passageway to the other side
for lost souls. I am not sure if she ever made it to the mirror
though because many a time my brother Joe would hear her crying at
strange times of the night. There are still so many stories, it's
hard to remember them all at once because we lived there so long, but
as I remember them I will post them:)

Now to answer some questions you may have....
Personally, I think my brother Dave's experience may have been a dream, because no one else had ever seen anything like that in the house, but then again who knows, but it just seemed too 'horror movie'ish to me.

I also think that me and my mom may have been catalysts for The Captain to become more active because we have always been able to sense things (good and bad).

The Captain was a benevolent (good) spirit who never harmed anyone physically, he just like to freak the heebie jeebies out of us. Some days I just find myself sitting back and wondering if anything still happens in that house (which I am sure it does) and kind of missing it, even though when it happened to me, I was wishing that it would stop.

We figured when we moved to Baltimore that things would calm down, but lo and behold the house my parents live in now is haunted also...there have been shadows seen, voices heard, mysterious blood like stains appearing on the wall...they've never done any research on the hosue, but my husband told me that all he remembers of the land which my parents house is on is that it was woods before the housing community was built.

And in my house I have seen glowing orbs which I seriosuly think are my beloved late kitty Serena, I always get the feeling that she's around when I see these orbs and can almost even smell her fur. I have also seen apparitions, but for some reason i think they may have just been on their way to another plane because I have only seen each one once (one was a female in a long flowing white gown and one was a young man kinda bull-like in a red shirt and blue jeans). I never saw their faces, only caught glimpses of them from the corner of my eye, and just got the 'gender' feel, if you know what I mean.

I really don't mind being a catalyst, sometimes it does get a little annoying to feel something is there when you don't want to, but I pretty much just try to lead the spirits in the right direction.

Well that's all from me for now, told ya it was long...if you have any comments or questions I would love to hear them! TTYS!
Liebe,

Wow, I do not know what else to say. I thought I was the only one who that kind of stuff happened to. Every house I have ever lived in has been haunted. I learned one home I lived in was actually part of the underground railroad at one time. Had an awesome cellar with a passageway that led to the shed out back of our house. Lots of noises there and everywhere we lived. I wonder why there was a lull when your mother was present sometimes? That is strange, like maybe her spirit kept the others at bay. Hmmm I do not know. When you described the Capn ghost it gave me chills, I could almost see him. Thanks for sharing these stories, I would love for you to go back through old family photos and see if there is anything on them that you may have dismissed years ago, but that now you can look at with a different perspective. :D Can't wait to read more. :14

Wow you have had some experiences. I also know that spirits can follow you, Mine did and he is here once again I can tell by what he does. He used to flicker the lights on an d off at my old house which was built on civil war battlegrounds and now here in vegas its getting to be the same routine. Funny story, the other night I was talking with my girfriend back in south carolina on the phone, I was on my balcony when I was locked out of my house. My boyfriend was in the bedroom so I had to sit outside till he came out of that room. Well needless to say that my spirit use to do that back in our old place as well but he always locked our bedroom door back home :lol so I know its him :lol But those are great stories :)

Re: just *some* of my experiences (long post)
I'm glad y'all liked my stories. I was telling my husband as I reread the experiences I had it was like I was 'reliving' them and feeling all the same things again and it was weird. For some reason the weirdest experiences seemt o center around my bedroom downstairs (the one that had the full length mirror in it). I also had the period of having lights flicker on and off, but it only happened in one room of the house....my bedroom. The first time it happened I was on the phone and the light went off and I said 'Great, my light just went out' and put my friend on hold and went to go get a new lightbulb, but when I got back to my room the light was back on, so I figured the lightbulb might have been getting old, so I changed it anyway. About 10 minutes later the light went out again and came back on real quick, so I was like 'what in the world is going on?' and even checked to make sure the new lightbulb was good (which it was). It didn't happen again that night, so I figured it might have been a fluke thing, but then it kept happening every day at different times, and a few days later it happened again and I was sitting on my bed reading so I just turned the light on underneath my shelf thing and went on reading. Then my dad opened the door to tell me it was dinner time and he goes 'Why are you sitting in here with only that light on?' and as soon as he said that the light came back on and he was standing right next to the lightswitch. And it flickered a few more times in that little instant that he was standing there, and asked me about the lightbulb and all, and my dad's an electrician so he checked out the wiring and all and everything was fine. So it kept happening until the day I moved out. It had never happened in any other room in the house and it didn't happen in that room until I had moved into it. The Captain also liked to turn my radio on REAL loud. My dad's experience with that was one time he was in the shower (the bathroom was right next to my room) and he was the only one home and my radio all of a sudden came on full blast, so loud it was shaking the walls. So my dad was like 'wtf, she should be in school' and he got out of the shower and saw that my light was on under my door and the radio was still blaring, he grabbed the door knob (which was vibrating) and opened the door and the music and the light went off. So he closed the door and the light and the music came back on, and he did it a few times. Finally he just went out for a few hours. Well my hands are tired from typing, LOL TTYS!
Love,
rammyGG
