my contribution I'm a true fan of your website and a regular visitor for a couple of years. I have a pretty reasonable idea of how much it costs to maintain a website (occasionally work as webmaster) and I would hate to see yours shut down because of lack of money. I don't know if you're making anything selling your stuff the way you do but here are a couple of things you should consider: Partnership, advertising, reciprocal linking, etc. It is possible to earn cash selling on Amazon.com, ok no t-shirts there but try Ebay.com. The point is they offer exposure. On the same subject, why don't you offer people who want to 'swap-buy-trade-sell' the possibility to move their stuff right from site, only on a specific section? You offer exposure this time, and collect a small fee doing so. Same for personals; have people pay to post personals. The system may even be improved with time limitation: the longer the post stays, the more it costs. How people get to know this great site exists, I don't know. I hardly see a link to it anywhere. You definitely must consider managing reciprocal links, based on popularity. Even better, sites could 'buy' the right to either remain at the top or show their banner/link in a specific way. There are other things I'm sure but these thoughts just crossed my mind as I'm writing this down. Take care. |

AlternaBay Do you know of a San Francisco-based gay Web site: Alternabay? It's an alternative auction site. Not known much but increasing in popularity. May be a good idea to create partnership with it, don't you think? Could end up being as popular (and lucrative) as eBay... Jaap |

"Leonard & Larry" cartoons Do you remember "Leonard & Larry" the cartoons? There was a time when we could regularly read them on Frontiersweb.com. The comic strip followed the lives of a gay couple living in West Hollywood, as well as their extended family and friends. The characters were atypical of many comic strips, and lived in an ironic and sometimes sitcom-like world. Bears and leather and uniform fetishism mixed with issues about parenting, the Hollywood closet, gay youth, and the triumphs and troubles of a long-term gay relationship. The final "Leonard & Larry" strip appeared in Frontiers in 2002. Do you think it would possible to contact creator Tim Barela and ask him to be part of your Burn Mag.? It would a wonderful and valuable contribution to the magazine. |

sms + blogging combination Anywhere you go blogging is increasingly popular and so are sms. I recently came accross an online blogging solution that went even further than others: not only does it allow one to blog the traditional way but it also is possible to blog by merely sending e-mails and even sms/mms. Wanting to know more about how they made that possible I found a link to a solution you might be interested in implementing: www.mobileway.com Noam |
