newbie to RV'ing
Hi to all and let me introduce myself.
My name is Jerry Gould and I a living and working up here
in snow packed Iowa. I am retiring from John Deere here
in Moline, Illinois on August 1st., 2004. I want to RV full time.
for a few years anyway. I am very very new at this and sure
get alot of good information here on the net about anything
and everything dealing with RV's.
I have been looking on the net at the Open Road models and
I like them very much. Not sure I can say the same for my
pocketbook. Anyhow, I am looking for a 5th wheeler for my
truck.
I have a 2002 F250, 1 ton, V-10Superduty with 8 foot bed.
Just two wheel drive. It has the camper package with it.
I am single, so I don't need a huge 5th wheeler, but yet if
I am going to live in it full time, I do not want to be too cramped. And of course there is the newness of it all. So much
out there and so much to digest with my only one brain cell.
I am looking forward to retirement and getting out of this
cold country in the winters. Just wanted to introduce myself
and look and listen.
Thanks
Jerry

Re: newbie to RV'ing
Hi Jerry,

I'm sure you will get the information you need regarding Open Road here. I first saw the Open Road at the RV show in September. I haven't made the plunge yet. I'm not quite ready to take a loss on my trade yet.

Since you are new to RVing, a couple of forums you can get additional information for newbies is irv2.com and rv.net.

The best way to shop for RVs and better determine which is best for you, is to go to the RV shows. In fact, I'm going to the Dallas RV Show this weekend.

I see you are near my hometown. I grew up in Clinton, IA. My dad still lives in East Moline, IL. I don't blame you for wanting to spend winters elsewhere.

Good luck on your search.

Joe
