not for profit insurance in the UK
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

www.benendenhealthcare.org.uk/ cost is only about 2 pounds per week per insured.

the above non profit group in the UK provides a means of getting an appointment with specialists. I am not from the UK and you might want to check it out since getting referral to a specialist can be difficult and expensive.

If we could please have one of our members there in the UK check this out with our specialist providers to see if they will accept this insurance it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike Bartolatz

Re: not for profit insurance in the UK
I got the following reply from an individual at another site:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The website states that only employees and members of their families working for specific state run organisations can apply to become members of this non profit making business, so unless you are or have been a teacher, ambulance/ hospital worker, local authority emppoyee etc, you cannot join. :(

Re: not for profit insurance in the UK
Hi Mike,

I only found this post yesterday :\ should remember to look on here more often...

Anyway, I mailed them to see if I would be covered for an existing condition if I joined. They phoned me today and the lady I spoke to wasn't too hopeful. She is sending me some information and another phone number so that I can discuss my case in more detail with someone medical. I'm not too worried if I can't join because I have alternative cover but thought I'd follow it up to see what's on offer.

Will let you know the outcome.

Hope you are keeping as well as you can. Take care,
Annee :D

Hi,

I realise it's been ages since this thread started but I don't get on here much now. I never did hear from the lady I spoke to on the phone with additional information so never got any further :\

Hope you are keeping well Mike.
