one by one (Kurt's office)
(OOC: hope it's ok that I started the thread...)
Having finally found Nightcrawler's office, Dryad knocked, waiting to be called in. He knew he should have controlled himself but this just was a topic he couldn't handle easily.
With a side glance, he noticed this new guy... Tempest had sat down in some distance waiting for his turn.

Murray entered the hallway outside of the office in one powerful stride. He immedietly noticed Dryad and his favourite person in the world, Tempest. For a moment Murray debated turning back and even fully turned around, taking one step in the opposite direction.
Something got the better of him though and he turned back. He wanted to get this overwith and he sure as heck wasn't going to let a few people scare him off. After all if they were to be groupies and all he'd have to learn to at least tolerate them.

Damion sat in the chair closest to the office door, hunched over. Silence didn't seem to hate the idea of a team as everybody else around him. Feeling the negativity around him, Silence just kept to himself, twiddling his thumbs. He hated uncomfortable situations, and this was definitely one.
Had he started to hate this entire idea as well? It seemed that almost noone wanted to be here, yet they were all here regardless of their feelings. Silence wasn't going to allow a couple of cranky people get the better of him. Silence just waited now, whistling gently to break the nervouse silence...

Kurt gave a flick of his tail as he heard some students gather outside, taking in a deep breath he heads for the door, opening it and stepping out to see who was there.
Kurt:"Come in von at a time!"
He said as he turned and headed back for his desk, leaving the door open for them.

Having been the first one to arrive, Aran'kla stepped in and closed the door quietly behind him.
*Push your anger aside, he's got his believes as you have and didn't insult you* , he thought feeling something of what Connor's words had awakened in him being projected onto Kurt.
Dryad set up his usual good-mood-facade and tried a smile... which he could feel failing hopelessly.
He gave it up and, muttering a "hi", Aran sat down on a chair right in front of the desk waiting for what was to come.

Arms placed neatly on the desk and tail curled around his leg in an effort to stop its constant swirly, Kurt gave the young boy a small fanged smile.
Kurt:"Hallo Aran, I since it vas hard to introduce each other as a group, you'll all be introducing yourselves von at a time. We shall ask 2 questions each, no lies, ask me vhat ever you vant, und I shall ask you vhat evre I vant, understand?"
With another smile he seemed to wait, staring at Aran.
Kurt:"You may ask your question first, anything, as long as it has something to do with me."

Kurt's trivia quiz
Hearing Nightcrawler's proposal, Dryad couldn't help but laughing. He struggled to get himself back under control and succeeded in doing so.
"Sorry, it was just... I expected something like 'You should reconsider your behavior, young man! You're grounded!' and no question hour"
he smiled a little to make sure his words were taken as they were meant: A joke.
Aran became serious again and frowned.
"Two questions each each... full honesty... a dangerous trade, you know that. Some of us got their reasons to hide things..." , he claimed and shortly thought about what to ask.
"As we'll work as a team I need to know *your* opinion about the scenario I just created some minutes ago. Tell me your feelings about it! How would you react? Just watch? Hide? Run... erm, teleport away? Or fight?"
Aran'kla knew this was a touchy subject yet it was necessary for the future. Whenever an invasion might happen - he was too much of a realist to believe this would never be the case again - he needed a group of people who would help him defend the others...
"And as a second one" he grinned teasingly "does your tail actually have a mind of its own?"
His grin faded away as he waited for the first question's answer...

He placed his hands together as he looked at Aran, he wasn't thinking, there was no need to think, he'd fought along side Wolverine for many years, there was no doubt he had blood on his hands.
Kurt:"Only if I vas left vith no ozer choice, to protect ze kids in zis Institute, I vould do anything I feel needs to be done."
He spoke with a serious tone, but his mood lightend up as his tail uncurled around his leg and have a swirl around behind his back before curling around the leg of his chair.
Kurt:"Some people tap zere fingers und ozers tap zere foot, I twitch my tail."
His smile slowly faded as he was once again serious.
Kurt:"Und now, my questions."
He went quiet for a moment, as if allowing Dryad the chance to prepare for these questions.
Kurt:"Vhere do you think you'll be if you veren't here?"
He was completly serious with that question, but smiled as he asked
Kurt:"Und vhy did you chose to stay at ze institute?"

Aran didn't show any reaction as Kurt answered his first question but made a mental mark. As expected, he could count on their leader.
The grin caused by Nightcrawler's second answer changed into a thoughtful expression hearing the furred mutant's questions.
Kurt:"Vhere do you think you'll be if you veren't here?"
His mind moved back, to a time that seemed decades away but had actually just been three years ago. The time when his clan except for three
including him had been massacred.
The time when he lost his faith in the human race. The feelings he had had coming back to the sewers seeing everyone dead had changed from
the unbearable desire for bloody vengeance to the painful awareness of having lost something too precious to be replaced.
Those images still were as clear as ever. They seemed to be burned into his mind for all eternity and still thinking about it let the vague urge to
revenge his friends' - his family's - death arise from the past.
What would he be like not having come here? Where would he be?
"I'm not sure. Three years ago, two friends of mine wanted to join an... underground association like the Morlocks in Detroit so if I hadn't have
come here than I'd lived with them... I guess. I can't stand that city though but being alone is worse."
Dryad thought about it, summoning his feelings back then in every detail in his mind. He wanted to be as honest as possible.
"In fact, I... might as well have... joined the Brotherhood or the Hellfire Club..." , he admitted hesitantly.
"As for the second one.... well, I found friends here. We don't agree in every regard but that isn't necessary anyway. I don't want to lose them,
that's why I stay. No matter what we have to face, I'll give my best... even my life to protect them.
And if I have to kill for it, no matter whether there're mutants or humans attacking us, so be it.
I don't want anyone of those people living here to die..."
*not again*
"...not even Connor" , Aran finished with a grim smile.
"Satisfied?" Knowing he had to talk to the young Wolverine better sooner than later, Dryad attempted to get up.

He showed strong emotion towards a team mate that was enraged at him, perhaps this team wasn't as lost as Kurt thought, perhaps they where all just angry and confused...all seeking to find answers. Just like Kurt and Wolverine in their younger days..
Kurt gave a nod to Arans question, allowing him to leave without replying to what he had said, it was honest...and Kurt had heard more then Dryad realized.
He waited for the next student to enter, thinking over what Dryad had said..

Kurt gave Tempest a friendly smile as he watched the student take a seat.
Kurt:"You're new in ze institute no?"
He asked curiously.
Kurt:"Vell first off, let me velcome you to ze Institute, secondly, I vould like to get to know you more, und to do zat I'm going to ask you to ask me two questions und I ask you two questions, I assure you, vhat ever you ask I vill answer honestly, and ask you to do ze same for me."
He paused momentarily as he watched the mutants reaction, then gave a faint smile.
Kurt:"How do you like Xavier's so far?"
He asked politely as his tail uncurled from around the leg of the chair, flicking for a moment down low at the ground before allowing it to curl onto his lap and remain out of the way and out of sight under the desk.
Kurt:"Und vhat do you think of you're new team mates?"

Kane had nodded at the furred mutant's question about him being new... and froze hearing the announcement to be asked to questions with full honesty.
It would happen, now, here... they'd get him. After all those years...
Just as he was about to panic and dark clouds were gathering outside, Kurt posed his questions and Tempest had a hard time not to sigh of relief.
"'s fine, I think. Haven't seen that much yet but it's pretty luxurious and all... dunno what else to say 'bout it and for the second one..."
He thought for a moment trying to remember everyones' face.
"Well, Silence seems to be ok but I think he kinda feels... unspecial, Connor needs some anti-aggression-therapy, Dryad... guess we won't have probs... and I dunno what to think about Curse."
He smiled a little having the feeling he hadn't said what their leader wanted to hear.
"I don't have any questions... except one: When's the training tomorrow again? 6am?"
Kane got up hoping to get out before the question occurred.

Was all he replied as he waited for Silence or Murray to enter his office, Tempest was going to be some who will be difficult to gain his trust, as Kurt had expected, ask him anything difficult, and he'd clamp up...hopefully one day he would find the courage to tell Kurt the problems that weighed upon his shoulders.

When Kane left the office of Kurt's, Silence stood up reflexively, once he knew it was his turn. He slowly walked towards the door, feeling as though the next couple of mintues were going to be uncomfortable ones. He didn't really like 'meeting' one on one with his superiors, and reluctantly entered the door.
"Hello?" Silence asked as he entered the door, soon thereafter spotting Kurt, sitting down in front of his desk. "You wanted to see us?"

Great, Murray thought. I wait my turn and some stupid kid with the almighty power of silence butts ahead of me. He was so glad people couldn't read his thoughts for they were even more negetive and cynical than was usual.
He had been first in line though, and of course he had an ulterior motive. Murray wanted to keep a close eye on Tempest. With another round of the blue elf questionning some other kid he'd have to wait and probably wouldn't see him until the meeting the next morning.
In the meantime he was reduced to waiting as usual.

(OOC to Voodoo: Sorry to nag but would you mind replying quickly to this thread? I don't mean to push you or anything but my character Murray, who is waiting at the moment, is to be part of the rescue team in less than a week's time. As a result Tempest and I have to come up with why they would go rescue some people they don't even know and we need a storyline and a few posts. So essentially I'd like to get him out of here quickly so that he'll be ready for the rescue team on time and won't hold up the storyline. Again I do apologise but if you could reply quickly it would be greatly appreciated.

Silence thought for a moment, thinking if he had any questions that needed answering. Realizing he was fully content with the knowledge he had, he looked Kurt in the eyes, "Well, Kurt, I don't think I have any questions to be answered, but I will take a raincheck," He said, letting out an uncomfortable smile, "As for your questions, feel free to ask me anything!"
Kurt:"I vill also zen ask my questions at a later time asvell, I shall see you vith ze rest of ze team in ze danger room tomorrow."
He gave a nod and allowed the boy to leave, Murray was next, and Connor....these next two students where the last, then he could head out and see how the others went on their first day.
(ooc-This is one reason I don't really like people asking me about my story timelines, it seems to restrict everyone, I assure you lady, if I think we need more time for further developments, I shall wait an extra few days. )
