Howdy! While trying to find out information on the Drive in Theatres of Lenawee County, I ran across the some groovy ads for a previously undiscovered Drive-In, The Geneva Beach Drive-In Theatre. The ads are great! Very stylish and about 1 column wide and two inches deep. Some ads say that the DIT was located at "Geneva Beach Road @ Devil's & Round Lake" and others say "between the Lakes." No specific address is given. This COULD be a precursor to the "Devil's Lake Drive-In" (which opened in 1952, I think) but that location is more under Devil's Lake and west of Round Lake, than "between the lakes." there is a strip of land about a mile wide "between the lakes" where a DI could have existed. Here's a list of the ads and the movies that were being shown: (Note: ads did appear between 7/7 and 7/24/48, but I didn't have enough time to write them down, I'll send a follow up soon) 1948 - Grand Opening - June 12 - "The Bells of San Fernando" (spelled "Ferndo") June 13,14,15 - "The Ghost Rider" June 17 - "The Mystery of Marie Roget" June 18,19 - "Drums of the Congo" June 20 - "Here comes Kelly" June 21 - NO SHOW (Monday) June 26 - "Silent Witness" June 27,29 - "Cosmo Jones Crime Smasher (spelled "Cosmos") June 30-July 01 - "No Escape" July 02,03 - "On Stage Everybody" July 04,05,06 - "Rhythm Parade July 25 - "Desperate Chance of Ellery Queen"
