"Songs I Hate Hearing Live!" Thread
For me, it's gotta be either Black Coffee, CfC and Hourglass. I know they were the band's biggest hits, but my God, do I cringe when they're played live!

What about you? Do any tracks make you roll your eyes when you hear the opening chords at a gig?

you would have been disappointed at the last gig of chris's then...he only did two songs, one of them being black coffee, and that was the only one of his put on the dvd!!

before you ask, the other one was llamas fair

the previous gig at the union, he'd done an amazing set lasting about an hour, with loads of songs... i asked what had happened when the dvd from that never made an appearance, and apparently there was 'a very bad fuzzy buzzy noise' all the way through it, which means lots of great songs lost, so when they redid it, we got stuck with black coffee...sounded fantastic in my opinion though

I'm sorry (because I know it's his party piece and he loves playing it) but Voodoo Chile at Glenn's gigs is usually my cue to go to the toilet.

Labelled With Love. I could live without it on ESS, and it brings nothing new to a live show.

I’m also pleased Glenn has stopped doing Perfect Day at his gigs. After the novelty of the first time, it became really painful!

We’re not easy to please are we?

Well, there are alot of songs to go at! I think we're entitled to a few favourites and otherwise.

I don't much like Labelled with Love either, although I don't dislike it live. Glenn puts so much feeling into it.

And I also know what you mean about Perfect Day! It was funny the first couple of times, and after that it started becoming a bit boring. I've got the awful feeling that Genitalia of a Fool is going to be much the same. Funny the first time, amusing the second and then....what happens to a novelty song when the novelty's worn off?? Stick to your own songs, Glenn. They're much better.

Still, the majority of the audience aren't quite so sad as me (going to so many gigs) and they're hearing these things for the first time. And frankly I'd still be happy if Glenn played all my least favourite songs in one gig.
