saab v4
Hi,
Would the saab v4 1500 or 1700 be eligible for csr? Has this ever been tried?

Re: saab v4
It looks like the rules would allow the 1500 since it's
a legal GT4 engine. I suspect the challenges would
be many, though. Getting competitive power starting
with the stock heads might be a big effort. I don't
have any idea where one would go to find headers,
intake manifolds, dry sump system, a machininst/
builder familiar with prepping the engine, etc. Mating
the engine to a suitable transaxle could be a challenge
as well.

Re: saab v4
I have found a site where the owner describes in good detail what was done to the whole car(sonett III) in order to win a national championship. Quite a bit of work, naturally. I feel I need at least 200hp to be competitive in csr, and don't see the v4 attaining this goal. I have a spare v4 and transaxle with the sonett III I own, that's why I was curious about this engine. Oh well, the search continues!!!:)
