I rivoted black stretchy, yes stretchy, velcro to my ammo pouch.....2 loops. One loop of velcro goes around the armor shoulder strap (or pauldron--where the snaps are...which help keeps the pauldron on straight, believe it or not), and the other loop when around my arm. I didn't have Richie's backpack at the time.

Now that I have the backpack, I'll wire/rivot/ziptie it to the backpack harness strap. I think Richie used the zipties. I prefer more permanent methods, but if I can tie it so it won't slip or move too much, I'll try the ziptie myself.
