Heh Ruby, which one did you meant- the one of living Balto or the one where he is stuffed and put up on dispaly. Honestly, both kind of pics would be cute but I prefer the one when he was still alive. He looks so cute that away, and cuddly and well...alive lol! I bet the stuffed Balto is good-looking too, but he may not resemble him in real life because:
1. He's not alive (in simpler terms, dead.)
2. His not cuddly anymore.
3. His colours may have faded through time.
Oh my gosh!
They actually stuffed Balto! :0 That's horrible! I was talking about the live one....

Oh you were...sorry ^_^;! Well he does look very cute from the pics I've seen of him. I love Siberian huskies and Balto certainly had a similar resemblence to one, if not all.

*lol!*
Balto was a very cute dog. There was a debate over at TBL about whether it was wrong or right to stuff and mount Balto, it was very interesting. I don't care either way about it, it's a nice piece of history in the museum so long as people respect him.

The Real Balto
Balto is a half-dog and half-husky in the film. Is he really a half-breed animal?

Re: The Real Balto
To our knowledge, the real Balto of 1925 was all husky... there was no wolf in him. Universal made him into a half-breed in order to incorporate the themes of acceptance and heritage.

Snow's definitely hit the nail on that one. Having Balto as a half-wolf in the movie seemed to attract much more attention, now that he has something unique to his characteristics.
